This is a very thorough test of these pellets done in the only way to make the review credible - ALL variables kept to an absolute minimum. Great stuff.
I am using the jsb ultra shock 10.34g in my fx impact mk2 sub 12, and at 20 yds they are devastating on squirrels 👌, not tried them at longer ranges yet
Nice review, interesting that they are so accurate but have a hollow-point, which has to effect their long range ballistics. I almost ordered some some but then I realised that they weigh exactly the same as the Bisley Mags I use and I can put five of those under a 5p coin at fifty metres with my HW100 (on the right day, of course) and they hit with a hell of a thump. So I didn't.
Get a little bit match head material and some gunpowder from a nail gun propellant cap , mix it carefully and fill the hollow points neary up , put some quick set glue over the top . Hey Presto , diy tracer rounds . brilliant at night , when they hit bone they set fire to the scurrying prey.
I was always a fan of the JSB Exact Heavy .177 (4.52) after my Daystate MK3-4 (MK3 housing MK4 internals) barrel seemingly loves them and no other pellets will do a ten pellets in one hole group at 45 yards (ca. 41 m) from a bench rest. I know they are technically rated for higher power rifles, but the accuracy and impact are second to none and run around 11.89 ft-lb. Not only that, but I may however look into these ultra shock pellets for future hunting needs if the barrel and magazine takes to them.
I just recieved these ultrashocks in .22 They shoot fairly accurate for me around 950fps. My new favorite pellet. Looking forward to some small game hunting with them to see how they perform.
I bought some of those ultra shocks after noticing that they had some good reviews and the price was cheap. Haven't used them yet though. You can often find cheap prices on those not so popular pellets from JSB and H&N.
I definitely need to give those a try one day when ! They are definitely meant to be a ~20m hunting pellet but id be curious to see what they can do especially with a bit (alot) more power
I was told that a flat headed pellet was the more accurate. Reason being during the travel to target there was equal air pressure on all parts of the pellet face. What would you suggest for the most accurate pellet design and weight? Let's say at 25-50 yards.
They are good to just about 40 yards. Would be good if you tried the Predator Polymags too. I haven't shot since before the pandemic, but those pellets used to do pretty well up to 60 yards in my HW 100 with a 56cm FSB barrel.
If you really want true penetration test. Use old paper magazines stack up 10 to 15 thick soaked in water and use rubber bands to hold. If you're magazines are thick. Even a heavy 357 pellet can't get through
I've never ever found an accurate pellet other than domes. Presently I use H+N FTT in my 98 and S400 and they work as well as all the others I've tried inc JSBs, nice to have same slugs for both rifles.
I think youre better of with a hollowpoint slug like a ZAN 10 grain. Also devastating good expansion. I never got the ultra shocks to work. But your gun handles them better than mine. Good video.
Yes mate it's still here, the CP is staying on the katran for the moment. The new falcon, I'm really enjoying and it is perfect for the longer range target work. The CP is best suited for the small rifles and shorter ranges, for my eyes 😉
I've yet to find a single decent batch of Hades through any of my barrels. The heavies out perform them in all aspects in my barrels. Some people say they are great but I've not been so lucky. The ko expand way more but in sub12 especially, most of our rigs aren't optimised to run them very well. The ultra shocks look to be a pretty safe bet and do the job very well and don't go clean through like the heavies can at times 😉
I'd have got back to you sooner mate, but I've been a bit sidetracked with my fishing the last week 🙄 something awesome happened..got some of it on film too...
The thick padding of the glove reduces the transfer of the pulse in my hand to the rifle. Very common on the target circuits and it's an anschutz one 😉
Mostly down to instability as the FPS drops at range. They just get wildly unstable and drop out the sky. At normal ranges they are very good though. I'm actually running them through the katran now with the nv on.
Haven’t seen these about As an aside have you tried Baracuda 8’s, tried for the first time in my Wolverine R hilite, they were excellent and not expensive either.
So, this is pretty much inconclusive - where's the REASON for using these ''ultra shocks'' over ''exact heavys'' anyway? Since the latter is also a good at transferring the energy, and is slightly more accurate, should we just forget about ultra shocks then?
Its just fun to shoot. For me at least. I had my sights adjusted for this pellet for some time until I tested it at 70 meters where they absolutely SUCKED. But at close range about 30 or 40 meters they just demolish anything that they hit. I shot 2.5cm thick plank and it left 4cm wide exit holes. It had more damage than hollow point slugs. But for more versatile use I would still use exact heavy diabolo. But now I use even heavier version its called exact monster diabolo. My rifle can handle them with ease and they are better overall.
loud gun, no slicencer i think. get a donny fl on it to pease the neighbours. i will try these pellets at 40 yards in my yard at 27 ft ils. see if sqirrels love em..
Is it really "shooting" when there is no recoil or feed-back. High power Laser or punching a hole with a screwdriver. But if you want a Rabbit or 2 for the pot. ! Ill stick to my Walther springer for now.
i dont understand the fun of sitting or lying with a set rifle be a real man stand up with out rest s and shoot like a man
I'll just pin this up here for a little bit 😘
Maybe he thinks you should hold it one handed, at arms length, elbow locked with the gun held sideways...?@@tillysgunstocks
Because he’s testing the pellets not showing off
If he shot like that nobody is going to take his pellet accuracy reviews seriously..lol
This is a very thorough test of these pellets done in the only way to make the review credible - ALL variables kept to an absolute minimum. Great stuff.
£7:35 for JSB heavy. Good old days!!
Great videos, very interesting thanks.
Good spot mate.(I wondered if anyone would notice) I left the price on,just for a look back to the good old days 😆 2015 vintage heavies they are...
I am using the jsb ultra shock 10.34g in my fx impact mk2 sub 12, and at 20 yds they are devastating on squirrels 👌, not tried them at longer ranges yet
Great video as always... Wasn't expecting those to be as accurate as they turned out
they are the same as the bisley pest control have used 177 and 22 in FAC rifles great pellet
I swear by the JSB Exact Heavy pellets. They are in my view, the best
Nice review, interesting that they are so accurate but have a hollow-point, which has to effect their long range ballistics. Brilliant video.
Not tried them yet but might grab a tin, now, based on this.
Top job 👍
Excellent review and thanks for your opinion regarding magazine use, really helpful 👍
Cheers mate. They look like a really useful pellet now the nights are drawing in😉😉
They hit hard!

I used the old matchpell in. 22 for my pest control job. They were brilliant in my hw90 gasram.
Stopped rabbit in thier tracks

Cor at 950 I bet they pack a punch. The sub12s make only a little over 700fps..
Wo ist kleinwild Jagd mit diesen Waffen erlaubt 😮?

Ive since had them through the katran too, they are fantastic in it and cycle in the mag nicely too. They hit so hard🤯
Thank you for another informative video.
I definitely need to give those a try one day when !
They are definitely meant to be a ~20m hunting pellet but id be curious to see what they can do especially with a bit (alot) more power
These have become my fave short range heavy hitters mate. Devastating 😉
Great vid any chance of a tutorial on long distance set up plz
I plan to do just that, when I get chance mate 😉

I currently use Hades but think l will definitely give these a try. Cheers, Woody 👍
Hi mate, had these through the katran this afternoon. I can confirm they are absolutely savage.. they cycled in the mags lovely and hit hard.
Great content

I've used the polymags and the shorts in a couple of vids already mate, the shorts were fantastic..
That was my experience. @@tillysgunstocks

I have an AA S410 in .22 & 1:77, looking forward to giving these ago. Thankyou.
Keep you fit mate 😊

Depends as with all pellets on what is firing them. with a 2 ft Lb gun they would be as bad as the rest.
I think youre better of with a hollowpoint slug like a ZAN 10 grain. Also devastating good expansion. I never got the ultra shocks to work. But your gun handles them better than mine. Good video.
are you not using the optisan cp scope anymore? I really like it, wanna get my hands in one but they are not sold in my country
Yes mate it's still here, the CP is staying on the katran for the moment. The new falcon, I'm really enjoying and it is perfect for the longer range target work. The CP is best suited for the small rifles and shorter ranges, for my eyes 😉
Great video, How do they compare to the JSB Diablo Hades and Knockout
I've yet to find a single decent batch of Hades through any of my barrels. The heavies out perform them in all aspects in my barrels. Some people say they are great but I've not been so lucky.

Just ordered a 50 count sample pack to try, be interesting to see how they smack the rats.
It'd be great if you can let us know..
I've since used them in the little katran and they are seriously good.
@tillysgunstocks will do mate, I appreciate the reply.
I'd have got back to you sooner mate, but I've been a bit sidetracked with my fishing the last week 🙄 something awesome happened..got some of it on film too...
And also the outhouse is safe 😊
Nice but what gun this is?
H&N Baracuda Hunter Extreme is still at the top of my list for pest control.
Didn't try the JSB Hades yet...want to though.
Is that rifle sub 12 or fac ?
Bog standard xti50, sub12(these are only available as sub12)
Runs 710fps with heavies and 705 with the ultra shocks
What is the purpose of the glove. Why do you wear it? What is the brand
The thick padding of the glove reduces the transfer of the pulse in my hand to the rifle.
Very common on the target circuits and it's an anschutz one 😉
Is that elevation issue due to harmonics ?
Mostly down to instability as the FPS drops at range. They just get wildly unstable and drop out the sky. At normal ranges they are very good though. I'm actually running them through the katran now with the nv on.
The heads are flattened because they over penetrated the clay and impacted the lead backing.
Haven’t seen these about
As an aside have you tried Baracuda 8’s, tried for the first time in my Wolverine R hilite, they were excellent and not expensive either.
I've got a video on the channel on them mate, they look to be really decent
@@tillysgunstocks just found it 👍🏻
JSB exact at £7.45 for 500 , how old are they 🙂
They are 2016s I was paying 50quid a sleeve back then...😭
I found them to be pretty accurate and yes they hit with a mighty thwack
So, this is pretty much inconclusive - where's the REASON for using these ''ultra shocks'' over ''exact heavys'' anyway? Since the latter is also a good at transferring the energy, and is slightly more accurate, should we just forget about ultra shocks then?

Pretty goodin my rifles....
awesome Sunday morning breakfast entertainment 👏 😄
You want a miners cart and some rail. Pull yourself along :)
You know what, that would be perfect along with a lawn tractor or golf buggy for lugging the gear about...😆
n1 bud thanks
loud gun, no slicencer i think. get a donny fl on it to pease the neighbours. i will try these pellets at 40 yards in my yard at 27 ft ils. see if sqirrels love em..
What kind of rifle you need to shoot the heavy pallets
These would run well from around 10.5 ftlb up to maybe 20ish😉
😉👍
Is it really "shooting" when there is no recoil or feed-back. High power Laser or punching a hole with a screwdriver. But if you want a Rabbit or 2 for the pot. ! Ill stick to my Walther springer for now.
I'll stick to my exploding pellets
If your looking for power and heavy impact hitting pellets why are you shooting little 177 pellets when you can shoot 25 or 30.
Power limit mate, .25 in sub12 is (although very fun) significantly harder to be humane with over our typical sub12 ranges. 😉
I take it you’re not shooting an fac rifle.
Much talk less work😅😅😅
And about as accurate as a potato gun.
Sorry, I don't mean to offend you, but you talk too much. Short explanations would be better and more effective.
👍👌
