- Flashback from over a year ago when one of the earliest models of the Boeing 747-8i was reworked and eventually flown off to Pinal Park.
This big bird had been sitting in the back lot for a while so it was quite a treat to see it brought back to life for a brief moment in time.
Filmed: April 2015 KPAE Paine Field Future of Flight in Everett, WA USA.
Here's a great video of the aircraft bouncing off the runway as well:

What a majestic and stunning beastie she is! Absolutely beautiful machine. Thanks for sharing from Castle Rock Colorado.

Nice video brother.
What a beautiful and magnificent airplane.
LOOKS GOOD
I assume that since it looked like the weight was coming off the nose gear almost immediately during the takeoff roll that the bird was empty besides fuel, causing a super-low V1.. She sure climbed like a scalded duck...
Definitely empty

Nice acceleration.
Thank you for sharing this video.
My wife works in Lynwood and she sees various planes coming to land. Hard to grasp how big they are..
what was going on with the cockpit skins(green)?
Nice video. I go to Paine Field all the time, I've even been on the control tower.
+AndreNaeNae :D Cool man, I can only get up there a day or two a week for a few hours.
Look like this 747 has been in a fight.
What's battered about it? It's basically brand new! Because the rudder is different, the test paint below the flight deck.A one- hundred series could be called battered. ??
I wish more airlines had bought the 747-8i. I was hoping that BA would place a large order so was disappointed when the opted for the A380
nice video! is it one of those supposed to go to Transaero?
This was actually suppose to be one of Lufthansa's first 748's but they passed on it.
Quentin Cador Lufthansa
Nice one!!
Lufthansa destination.
New plane.
Battered because some decals have been covered up? Aircraft in this state are called "Casper's" I don't quite get the Lufthansa 747-8, A380 deal, at first I read that the cost per seat mile is less with the -8, but just barely, then that the -8's fly out with a higher % of seats filled than the A380, which would make the seat mile cost vs seat mile revenue much in -8's favor, yet I hear that LH is considering trading their A380's for A380neo's, but no more -8's. The order was for 20 747-8's, but I saw a fleet breakout and they had just 12 in service. Does that mean LH cancelled 8 orders? The mechanics at Qantas threatened to strike if not given more hours labor allocated to keep their A380's flying, paraphrased the union stated that, the plastic dominant interiors required a great deal more maintenance each night than any other aircraft in the fleet. Has anyone else heard that complaint about cheap construction?
it look likes lufthansa livery..........!
It is. It was supposed to become D-ABYE for LH, but was not taken up.
That'll be the Lufthansa 747 that the airline rejected from some reason. I'm sure that if its a flight worthy craft, it will eventually get bought by someone looking for a big plane at a good price.

Lufthansa rejected this aircraft because of all the tests that were done on it, at first Lufthansa was supposed to pick this plane up in 2012 as their 5th 747-8 aircraft but they agreed to let Boeing use it for one year for tests and then in 2013 after the tests Lufthansa decided not to take the plane because of the tests that were done on it, it wasn't only flight tests. Boeing installed some different air conditioning units to test, they tested different avionics lighting systems, plumbing and a bunch of other staff and after Lufthansa found out what kind of tests have been done on the aircraft they rejected the aircraft and since 2013 this aircraft has been sitting idle until now. I bet someone could grab this bird with a nice discount, too bad i am not filthy rich.
Boeing could convert this bird to a combi variant and see what kind of feedback/response it gets from airlines that want a truly flexible jumbo unencumbered by ETOPS.
If airlines, such as World Airways, Sabena, UTA, PAA were still around, the plane would surely be snatch up by one of them without hesitation.
is this bird still in storage or delivered ?
Must have been a gigantic deep fryer.
Which airline operators 747-8 now as a passenger carrier????
Ricardo sam there's a few, mainly freighters but Lufthansa has the most passenger 747-8i's I'd say
Korean Air for example
Air China
Hi all, what does the 'i' mean in the 747-8i?
Hûntre Cameron-Gráe intercontinental
When will there be videos about the recent activity at KPAE again
+Robin Wallet LATAM was pretty recent. Work, life & moving have slowed down this operation but expect an uptick in things that the other spotters can't cover in the upcoming months.
Yes she beauty
Seems great ;-) are you going to fly somewhere this year??? ;-D
It's in the plans later this year, but I've just started a new job 6 months ago so don't want to go jet hopping too soon!
Will this bird ever fly again or stored in pinal park for scrap?
Scrap
seriously fuck off with your bullshit
What was the purpose of the test flight?
roconnor01 testing.....
What's happened to this one now?
Scrapped
+Philippine Plane spotter what? that early in its life? noo.. this is NOT a -400
Where's your evidence???? This plane is under Boeing's maintenance and operations so there's no reason to scrap.
'
all american boeing 747-400 / 747-800 planes are so beautifully designs and great flys...
keep up and services all the times...
american space shuttle on the top 747 plane is the best top leader in the whole world
Is this the new Air Force One ??? Cheers from Berlin Germany
No. Trump rejected it for being too expensive.
Is it just me or is the 747-8 that much similar to the previous gen 747s?
Maybe because it's still a fucking 747.
747-8 has much longer upper deck, and it's the longest 747 ever.
Just look at the Engine Outlet (don't crucify me, aviation experts), and no winglets
Looks like they duct taped it.
Hope That Garuda Will Take That....
he took off quick looks like the pilots where headed g or space
No wonder its battered in Pain field !
It looks like she had been crying after being forced through all the tests. =../
Sad how she tours past all the young and soon to be employed 787's
Ben Davis You just made me feel legitimately sad for a plane. God damn you!
Too bright.
So much mo pretty den dat AirPus 380.
Probably the next Air Force One for Hillary Clinton
That didn't quite work out how you hoped, did it? And Trump rejected it as too expensive!
The most sophisticated passenger airplane in the world and he bashes it because it doesn't have gold paint around the windows. But now that he is President he decided to fulfill the order as per the original contract.
Haven't seen anything where he decided to fulfill the order...
+Fifty State he hasn't fulfilled the order...
