Nice pick up. I've had trouble with my bulkheads, hubs and driveshafts.( I replaced all that stuff with aluminum Traxxas parts except the bulkheads). I also replaced my ESC and radio with Max 8 ESC and spectrum radio. I also replaced those weak tires with Proline ones. And I added a roll cage. So far, after spraying the bulkheads with WD40 they are holding up so far. The MT8 and that other truck are too weak. Hehe. Expensive, but good decision. Oh yeah, I had to install the aluminum GPM motor mount and spur gear cover so that my motor would stop shifting. 4s is more than enough for me personally with the Max 8 and stock motor. Double backflips easily and 47mph on grass. I also added the HR battery hold downs so that my battery would have stop getting ejected. I also put a strap across the battery the short way, so I use one strap across the long way, and one short across the short way. So yeah, I have over $1k in my Maxx V2. It can take a lot of bad landings 20ft plus. Hehe
Just yesterday I picked up a maxx v2 monster energy edition. Bought it brand new still in the box form a guy that works for coca cola ... said he got it on some promotion stuff. Super stoked to run it this weekend 💯
Awesome that you got one Jason! I am still running pretty much all stock with mine, just geared it up 😃 It's a great car to give to a kid. My son rarely breaks the Maxx. I think he has broken a knuckle and twisted a driveshaft and that's about it. With the power your planning on putting to it the metal driveshafts are a good idea 👍
Hmm, I've been looking at these for a couple weeks now trying to decide what color I want. I was torn between green and orange but now after seeing a good close up review on the blue I feel the blue makes it look like a more premium model in my opinion. The brighter colors kinda look toyish.
Cool I kinda want a V2 Maxx but i already have a V1 with the widemaxx kit, steel wide driveshafts, aluminum toe links and 17mm wheel hexes with nuts. should i sell my V1 and buy a V2 and do all the upgrade to it or should i keep my V1 and convert it into a V2?
I just bought my maxx today ran it for 10 mins doing flips off a snow bank and destroyed a rear axle sadly probably because plastic vs 6 degree weather don’t get along never had a issue with my xrt yet prob because it has metal ones stock !
I’m going to buy one for my son😉😉… Haha! I made this comment before you got to the part about it being your sons later. Building is more fun then driving to me and staring at it.
The maxx comes stock with alot of power and these rc channels just have too much cash to burn. The average person will be more than happy with the stock setup and replace parts as you break them. I own this truck and it's perfect as it is..
Exactly.. the hell is he talking about that 4s isn’t powerful enough for this truck/weight 😂 The Maxx v2 is dynamite on 4wheels. Their are trucks with the same kind weight that are on 3s only or even worse brushed motors. I understand why he wants to overkill it nd I do it too with some of my Rc’s.. But this guy is giving a “novice” the wrong idea that the Maxx isn’t powerful enough 😂😂😂
Awesome review. I'm sure it preforms well on 4s but with your upgrade it should really rip. I'm considering buying one but batteries are kind of a concern. I currently only run 2s & 3s cars so I have plenty of 2s & 3s LIPO's. I'm fairly certain the drive train on this car is rated for 6s power as stated by the AMain Hobbies video I just watched. I wonder if there would be a way to either fit 2-2s batteries into the chassis? The truck it self is a great value but I really don't want to invest in new batteries as I am on a budget.
I'm new to the hobby. I absolutely love the X-Maxx the overall size just all of it. But I don't think. Ready to spend that much. If I drop down to a 1/10 scale Maxx again love the looks. But am I gonna be disappointed. Being it's not the bigger truck I fell in love with?? Need to know before I make the purchase
If you are new to the hobby nd you don’t want to spend that much, then go with the Maxx V2. I think you will fall in love with the Maxx. I had the Xmaxx 8s nd sold it after a month. Not because the truck is bad (its badass) But it was just to big for me. I have a big desk but the Xmaxx is so humongous 😂 I hadn’t enough space to work on it. I have allot of 1/8 nd 1/10 Rc’s. It doesn’t matter which arc you choose, in time you will develop a taste or style(s) what you like. For an example I never liked crawling but since 3yrs ago I have 4 crawlers😅 nd I’m also in too speedrunning. It all starts with regular bashing nd then it will be track racing or crawling or both etc. It’s not a cheap hobby, but…… it’s the best hobby in the world😁✌️
😲📢 NICEEE! I LIKE THAT A LOT! I got a Maxx but it's the yellowish sun body style. I love that one too!!! Good channel, I gave you likes and subscribed! 👍 Peace, Jeremy in Virginia, VA USA 🇺🇸 🏴 🇮🇪
Great purchase and great vid! hands down the toughest 1/10th scale basher straight out the box. my buddy Alex from (AlexBplaying) channel has had his v1 for one year and only has blown 1 tire running completely stock. you can check out my playlist to see our shenanigans lol looking forward to more maxx vids👍💯

Aw man I can’t wait to see this thing with the white arms! It’s gonna look so good!!
Love this truck's look. Have the yellow.

Love the blue, it's the one I chose !
The g2 is awesome. I love mine and it fits up great in either truck.

I also wanted to get rid of those little wheel inserts. So the driveshafts were a win win.
I was thinking the same - 5S for my Max 8 / 2200kv in my Maxx! Can’t wait to see how it runs!

Is the thick spring in the back or front?
Mine too the same color Maxx

We all have those trucks that are our favourites, that new trucks don't replace. But it's still a lot of fun to run and wrench on other trucks too.
The Maxx is a sweet truck! My question though is what do you clean your tires with? I would’ve thought the Hoss had brand new tires on it
Just armor all every once and awhile. Keeps them looking new.
I need to do complete over haul on mine , everything has its limits even the max , the white arms going look sharp . Making me want a new one lol 😆
The sledgehammer for the maxx has been out for some time. I have had a set for my V1 for almost a year.
