I think that ole girl is an excellent find - If it spent time in the woods logging it is in great shape - those upgrades are on a professional level . I would watch a full service on it for sure
Love that M! I have a M and a super M. Great tractors. I think your live hyd pump is a M&W . The second year (54) Super M's had the battery box under the seat like that.
Andrew, Looks like You've cleared a lot of brush, You're fields look nice !!! From now on until the the middle of May the grass will be watery and lack Magnesium, so a good Magnesium mineral is insurance against Grass Tetany. Feeding a little grain if You run low on hay is also a good idea. I'll bet a dollar that You already knew this didn't You.
I did already know that! But I never turn down good advice! Thank you! In fact, we're expecting quite a bit of rain and average highs in the 60s and lows in the 40s over the next 7 days. The grass is going to be primed for fast growth.
ALWAYS NICE TO PICK UP a LETTER SERIES FARMALL WHERE PREVIOUS OWNER STUCK A BUNCH OF WORK AND MONEY IN IT. 1) WIDE FRONT END 2) 2 WAY LOADER 3) M&W LIVE PUMP ( I SEE THE HOSES ARE POINTED UP) 4) POWER STEERING 5) AFTER MARKET POINTED UP DISTRIBUTOR 6) BATTERY BOX SEAT BUT NEED OF WELDING. 7) BRAKE RELEASE ROD LINKAGE 8) PTO REVISED LINKAGE (9) HYDRALIC OIL TANK 10) 2-WAY VALVE WITH 3RD HANDLE 11) muffler rain cap 12) did I see a cable to tranny for extra gears ?
Yes you did! M&W 9 speed transmission. All these extras would have cost me at least twice what I paid, if not triple, if I'd bought a straight M and put all this on myself.
If you mount a pump on the outside of the frame with a chain drive from the crank shaft, much better power and responsiveness than the camshaft pump, the other valve was probably for clam arm to clamp down on the bucket. Use present pump for rear hitch.
Great tractor good pick Framall is king you don’t need to worry about that one stopping working because is not much to it and you can probably fix it with a screw driver 😂 love it
How far is yours mounted from the rear axle? Trying get my M setup with the same loader and want it as far back as possible, but I am concerned about the arms touching the tie rods on top of and in front of the front axle.
The vertical pillars of the loader are basically in line with the split between the transmission and clutch housing. I'll try to get you a measurement when I get a chance. That appears to be as far back as mine can go, based on where the frame supports bolt on. Hope this helps.

I'm really excited about it. I've been finding all kinds of stuff to do with it that I didn't know needed to be done!
The greatest thing on a M is it a lot of those things that you can do won’t keep you from operating and completing chores that you gotta get done

I considered that, but it should be fine for what I'm planning to do with it.
As noted m&w live pump and 9 speed, behlen PS pump and resivor

Thx.
The space between the front side of the axle to the back side of the upright support pillar is exactly 25 inches.
