I’m currently tearing down my engine to do all this, I was wondering if I have to rotate the crankshaft when torquing down the rocker arms because that’s what I saw on the other videos but on yours you just torqued them to 22 ft lbs without rotating the crankshaft. Love your videos btw brother🔥
Always fun to see a guy working on my exact engine, including the 706 heads. Your demo for installing valve stem seals is the best I've found, most guys just skip over that step without recording. I hope you go through a cost summary at the end, it would be nice to know what total cost one is looking at.
Thank you bro and to answer your question no my build will not be smog legal a lot of my parts are upgraded .... I can make it smog legal but it would cost me more money than I want to spend and it would be slower 😂 yea I’m not interested in that thanks for the comment
Bro, I found your channel last night and have binge watched all your episodes till just now. Love what you are doing and I could see not only the progress on your projects but the progress on your filming style. How I wish I could continue to work on my OBS burban where I live but unfortunately I've been barred from working on my truck by my property manager where I live. You have inspired me to find a way to move forward on my truck. I would like to ask a few questions tho. What city are you in? Where is your shop? Would love the opp to meet up sometime and pic your brain a little and show off my ride. Know of any meets coming up?
Thank for showing me some love bro and commenting I really appreciate that .... it’s crazy to hear you say I have inspired you I glad the videos did. Ok so I’m gunna answer you questions first I live in the Windy City of Fontana CA and next question I do run a automotive shop for a company that I will keep private only because I have the most respect for them and what I do on my own time is my thing .... swaps, turbos, lowering, etc. just working on things I love and want to build .... and yes I would like to meet up some time and talk about your project my projects what ever I’m game and unfortunately I am super busy most days and don’t get to take my truck to any meets I have to make time for that !!!
@@LowLifeYonkes I understand about the shop info. Would be cool to perhaps plan a meet and greet with others in the So. Cal area. You have the perfect forum to push that idea out there. So long as peeps observe caution with this whole covid thing, would be nice to do it sometime soon. All we need is a large parking lot and a date. Keep up the good work bro. Look forward to your next vid.
Yea I think that’s a good idea I have to plan a meet I will throw the idea out there on a video and see what everyone says if it’s something everyone is interested in we I can make that happen !!! And thank for the support 👊🏼
Nice man!! Thanks for sharing, I’m building my first LS engine unfortunately I haven’t had time to work on it I hope I have time soon, two questions, are you supposed to lube the valves when installing them? And the other question, I’ve seen guys installing the rockers and turning the Crankshaft some degrees to tight the rocker bolts but I saw that you just torque them down without rotating the crankshaft is that ok? Just want to know so when I assemble my engine I will know
Thank you for the question and yes I have lubed the valve guides before I installed them I didn’t show that in the video but I have just finished lapping the valves and on the rocker arms I torque them down first and rotate the assemble after and check all rockers again with the torque wrench and that’s it
Another great video
