- Here's how to fix all those annoying broken / bugged tasks that you can't complete or hand in, I hope it helps!

thanks a lot. I had an issue with "phantoms in the dark" in Army Warehouse. The quest didn't complete and i could not talk to skinflint about it.

Try "simulation_task_66_name" or "simulation_task_67_name"

Dude thx, you saved me. had a bugged quest from freedom trader where i have to give both pron mags, cocain and mil healpack. had everything in my inventory but quest didnt trigger.

Should try that one when in GAMMA some Duty captain on the entrance to the Bar (in exo) was collecting tasks and didn't accept rewards or items
Yeah, i had problems with the exact same guy - I've heard reports that there are many of us that have!
There's a task with recovering tracking device. Sometime when I kill the mutant, it doesn't drop anything. But sometime when I don't have that task, kill some other mutant it drop the device but can't do any thing about that
I haven’t seen that happen before, but tasks can be a bit messed up sometimes, which is why I made the guide 🙂

i have a task in the svamps, "recover the tracking device" and i cant find the device, im at the spot. But i dont remember wo gave me the mission =/

anyway, i went back and checked all the PDA messages, and saw that i got it from Zakharov in Yantar. But i still cant find the mission in the files =/

@@vonstickers The full name in the PDA is "Recover the Tracking Device" it was given to me from Sakharov in Yantar the first time i went there and asked if he had any work.
The PDA shows the mission symbol to be in great swamps pretty much center-North, near the bridge that you cleary so on the map (big white bridge)
I think I might have found it, following the guide in the video, try task 4

Hello, I saw that you are willing to help the community, so I came to ask you to help me fix a bug I found. I like to play in the most immersive way possible, so I activated the option "Delayed Repair" Which you deliver your armor or weapon to the technician to repair, and there is a waiting time until he returns it to you again. Recently I discovered a bug that sometimes bug the game. If you give an item to the technician and go to sleep, it bug, the technician says he has finished repairing, the dialog "Yes here you are" appears but the game bug and the item is not returned, you are left without the equipment because the game bugs. I play Anomaly Vanilla with 7 mods, I don't use mod organizer, I just copied and pasted everything. It's Anomaly Vanilla, not GAMMA or EFP. I apologize if I have an error because I'm using a translator.

Curious if you encountered bug with Find and Rescue for freedom , initially I purposely failed a task cuz I just started a game but I never ever encountered it again (not spawning) but I also found the guy in the red Forest he got killed but I never had that task again and I don’t believe it’s just bad rng something happened
That hasn't happened to me personally, but I would say it's just the RNG of the dynamic missions to be honest.

Have you been able to find the task "Scanning Field"? Its a quest the Ecologists give you for Zaton to place down a device but the quest is bugged and doesn't work, but I can't find the string id for it in any of the files.
Try typing this command:
task_manager.get_task_manager():set_task_completed("jup_b6_scientist_nuclear_physicist_task_1")
Hopefully that'll do it!
I have a bugged mission from sultan in dark valley named "eviction notice" the ecologist guy in the farm is immortal any way to fix it
If I recall (and I could be wrong), the goal of that mission is to kill the people occupying that area, but it doesn’t include the scientist in the barn. Just kill the rest of them.
And if that doesn’t work, give the methods in the video a try, to force-complete it.

Am currently stuck on Living Legend with meeting Rouge, i spoke with Beard but Rouge just hasn't shown up and I can't find the code for it do you haven any idea?
Hmmm, I can't see a code for that one. I'd say there are a couple of possibilities...
1. Tasks done in the wrong order - skipped the barrier perhaps?
2. Rogue has died somehow.

Shot in the dark, but I'm having a hard time finding a Find Missing Duty Soldier task. Found the Stalker's body, no loot dialog opened, so now I can't turn in the quest.
To anyone having the same issue: disable the loot claim mod temporarily

i got a quest that i can't seem to find in neither of the folders, its from professor kovalev in great swamp, its the laptop one but i can't finish one of the 3 samples he needs after collecting the laptop, the sample just doesn't spawn
I can't seem to find the task ID for this. So I'll give you the next best thing....the anomalous sample itself!
Press F7 to open the console.
In the "Editor's List" (the box at the bottom right of the screen that opens), click on "Item Spawner".
At the top-left, click "Artifacts" (should be the first thing in the list)
On the right-hand side of the screen, you'll see the icons for all of the artifacts in the game.
The top row contains several that contain the words "Anomalous Sample". I can't tell you which one it will be, but just spawn the first, try and hand the task in, and if it doesn't work, spawn the next, and so on until you get the right one.

I am having trouble finding the Mortal Sin: Dark Crusade and Mortal Sin: Northern Hospitality tasks in the files. I accidentally killed the leader of the Sin at the end of the hospital portion of the tasks and have no way to recover :/ any ideas?
Update: I FOUND IT AND IT WORKED!!! I've spent 3 days of watching this video many many times and I just had to slow down and read the files. Although, the Mortal Sin tasks are in the tm_lostzone_ms (now that I type this I realize "ms" is "Mortal Sin") lol. Thanks for the video. I'm sure many people in the future will gladly find it very helpful!

how come the bar is always almost empty for me
there is only 3 to five guys included snitch the guard and barmen
Hmmm, 2 possibilities come to mind…
1. Maybe Grok lowered the NPC count to improve performance (or of course, you’ve turned down the ratio of NPCs on the mod manager)
2. It depends when you visit the bar. At certain times, the NPCs are off out patrolling or doing whatever NPCs do when we’re not looking 😅
I’ve noticed that after an emission, a lot of them bugger off out somewhere.
I have this task with the professor. It's a classified information task. I got to the stash that is supposed to have the files in it. It doesnt have the files inside of it. I'm still being told to use this one stash that is a safe next to the merc sniper nest in the wilds outside of rostoc. There are no other stashes in the area. I'm having trouble finding the task's location in the config files. I'm sure it would be a dynamic task, but i just don't know how to go about finding it. I don't expect any help, but if possible I would be grateful.
Hmmm, maybe the best thing to do is use the item spawner in debug. Have a scroll through, I'm sure you'll find the item in there.
i cant find the task "talk to rogue" just to continue the story in my game hes dead but alive (??) like hes talking drinking but in cant talk to him but loot him. If i kill him the quest end
If it's the mission to just talk to him (before he sends you off to get the Gauss rifle), then try inserting this task using the guide in the video:

For info, that and a few of the other tasks in that questline are in the file titled "tm_lostzone_ll.ltx".

would you happen to know if i can use this function to add a quest i was supposed to get but didnt? the character rogue is broken in my 1st playthru and wont give me the story quest to get the gauss gun :(
I guess it's possible, by using the code for whatever the preceeding task is maybe.
ill keep trying things out then, its a base anomaly story quest so there multi IDs for like the title and description so i may of been using wrong ones. tyvm

Hmm I’ve never considered it.
I would imagine that unpacking the files simply duplicates them and puts them in the unpacked state, leaving the originals in place. If this is indeed the case (I’m not at my pc to check right now) then I would say that they could be safely deleted (although would be worth keeping the files required to look up the mission complete codes).
So I’d say check to see if the original files are still in place, and if they are then just delete the unpacked ones.
The timed quest mod solves the bugs by it self but you get bad reputation

currently i have a couple of quests with Anomaly Research involving using anomaly measuremant device but nothing happens when i take it out and stay right next to the anomaly so the question is am i doing it wrong or just use this lovely video to solve my problem?
Do you definitely have the device? Equipped and out? It’s not your normal detector, I believe you use a separate device - been a while since I’ve done one of those tasks.
If you’re doing everything correctly, then by all means use the method in the vid to kill the task off though. Let us know how you get on Stalker! o7

i cant find the quest, its by markov to get the 3 artifacts from wild territory, i accepted a quest later on about him getting tissue samples from mutants, and he would become a companion and follow you, and he got killed and i failed the quest but the other one is stuck

I have a Night Terror mission for Duty in Truck Cemetary which I have done but it won't complete. 66 and 67 don't work. Any ideas?

I know you've tried 66 & 67, but it's gotta be one of those two. Copy them exactly, maybe you missed a character or something.

How do I open the .bat file like you have in the video? The quest in the big swamps where I have to defend the gas station went wrong, it sends me to the sniper's place, but there is no body there and the task cannot start. and there is nothing in the first option that would help me with that. Thank you
Just double-click it, and it should create the "_unpacked" folder for you.
I tried this in my current GAMMA playthrough when I noticed a flesh hide had Utjan's item tracker for a fetch quest I had failed because the npc that gave it to me died. Unfortunately it failed. You wouldn't happen to know how to remove a "quest required" tag on the item? Or do you think since it was a task given in Rookie Village it might not have been a loner that gave it but rather a Clear Sky or Ecologist?
Its not really game breaking but the symbol makes me do a double take to make sure I didn't miss any tasks.
I haven't come across that before, so I wouldn't know I'm afraid. My suggestion would have been to find the task ID for it and complete it using the method in the video, but if that hasn't worked, then I guess it's just a case of dump the item in storage somewhere and forget about it!
I have the clear the machine yard quest in the swamp for clear sky but cant seem to find it in the ini files.
Try one of these:

or
(drx_sl_mar_smart_terrain_base_stalker_leader_marsh_task_2)
Maybe one of those two works?

Hmmm, if you’re playing SoC vanilla, then I can’t explain the crash (although it did have its fair share of bugs and crashes, so I’m not too surprised).
I would imagine that method 2 would possibly work (method 1 is for missions added post-release by modders I THINK).

i can't find the task "explorers: bring markov three artifacts from wild territory" i collected them and put them in containers and now task doesn't show up on the map

The gatekeeper died in my game, but I forgot to respawn him back before continuing to do the living legend quest and I believe that as he was dead I failed the task of talking to him, I respawned him back but the mission still doesn't work, any ideas how to solve the problem? maybe somehow reset the mission? I tried to delete Sidorovich and spawning him back to see if he would give me the quest again but my game always crashed when I tried to respawn him.
Hmm, maybe invoke the code for the completion of the previous task? Or even invoke the code of the current task and skip it altogether...
@@vonstickers I tried using the code, task_manager.get_task_manager():set_task_completed("lttz_ll_visit_barkeep"), but when I click execute nothing happens, I also tried with the mission to talk with the gatekeeper (call_north) but it also doesn't work
@@vonstickers I made some testing and it looks like that the code works only when I have the task active, but in my case I don't have it active, do you know if maybe there's a command that allows me to initiate the task instead of completing it? something like set_task_init instead of set_task_completed
@@vonstickers Solved it! Using the command, task_manager.get_task_manager():give_task("lttz_ll_call_north"), my task failed again when I used it but by using the code db.actor:disable_info_portion("stalker_gatekeeper_dead") it worked.

I'm stuck on Contract Killer for Sid. The guy I need to kill is invisible and cant kill him. I can't find the code to simulate the task. Any ideas how to find it?
I think this might be the one you need, paste it into the code as directed in the video mate:

Regarding how to find it....it was method 2 from the video, and the task in question is in the "tm_escape.ltx" file ("escape" seems to be an alternative name for Cordon within the game files)

I Got the collect 4 flesh eye for duty the code was 86 also if anyone is reading this can you comment who is not accepting quests from you? for me its an exo duty at the entrance to the duty base in rostok from the garbage direction. i so far took 3 quests from him and I could not finish all 3. Maybe if we all report who is problematic and figure it out they can maybe fix it for future or just make it so he does not give quests.

There seems to be a bug in Gamma when starting a new game where anomalies won't register new entries on the in-game PDA guide. Do you happen to know a fix for this?
Hey there, not sure what you mean about anomalies registering on the PDA? It's not something I've heard of I'm afraid, perhaps the community over at the Stalker Gamma Discord could help?
@@vonstickers In STALKER Gamma there's an in-game guide tab on your PDA, in that guide there is various entries such as characters you met, locations, mutants etc. It also documents anomalies that you've interacted with. There is a bug for me where the anomalies subject won't register any new entries at all no matter what I do.
Ah of course, I know what you mean now. I've played the various versions of Stalker many times over the years, so i don't bother reading the guides anymore, that's probably why I missed it!
Hi, cool vid! My problem is that some of my tasks are greyed out in pda so it does not show where to complete those tasks... i can not figure it out how to make them active. They are some basic tasks like kill someone bring some mutant parts to someone. Any idea? Double click on tasks does nothing..:S

Certain tasks do not give you a location, you have to find them yourself - could that be the case here perhaps?

@@vonstickers Nah, one of them is my companion from the start, he will come with me wherever I go until the end....:D an ecologist who asked me to follow him on an anomaly testing mission or what. But the other one.... its a Duty guy... that much I know...
I think when we fought a whole army of bandits the duty guy maybe shot the ecologist guy by mistake.... but it was hours ago so I will not reload....
@@Neoshane hmmm, usually you can get them to leave through dialogue options or pulling up the companion wheel.

I'm stuck now in swamps, last dawn clear south eastern farmstead from renegade stalkers, i've killed all of them, it showed me mission updated, but Cold doesn't have any dialog about mission, and even pda doesn't show the yellow icon in farmstead or in clear sky base where Cold is. Don't you know how to fix this please?
I've looked everywhere within the files, and I'm afraid I can't find this one. One of the other commenters also had the same issue, I couldn't help them either. Sorry to let you down :(

Is it possible to reset a traders/merchants, i think the ecologists scientists in my game are bugged. I have 3000 relations with the ecologists and I've been L5 with the main bunker traders but after 2 week neither have changed their stock from the level 3 list.
Hmmm I haven’t heard of that one I’m afraid. All I can suggest is to ask on the stalker gamma discord (discord.gg/rZFHshJryb) and see if anyone there can help you out. There’s a ton of knowledge over there, I’m sure someone will know.

@@vonstickers I fixed it, I updated my Gamma, which first broke the game because they’ve added a new step for installation that required some mods to be downloaded directly before installing the rest. After that I my traders updated to the correct supply level

i cant find my quest. It's from Sidorovich to retrieve package. Can't loot the corpse (message says "there nothing useful there").

Hmm. Help me out with some info here and I'll see what I can do to help....
1. What faction are you?
2. What faction is the target?
3. Who gave you the mission?
4. What map is it on?
5. What's the title of the mission?
@@vonstickers I started a new game, I was duty, peternko I think gave me the mission. It was named storm the enemy I believe. It just wasnt in the text file for some reason. Just happened to me again but your video helped me fix it :)

If you get a problem with that same task again, I've had a look through, and narrowed it down to 3 possibilities, try these:
1. task_manager.get_task_manager():set_task_completed("simulation_task_40")
2. task_manager.get_task_manager():set_task_completed("drx_sl_bar_dolg_general_petrenko_stalker_task_1")
3. task_manager.get_task_manager():set_task_completed("bar_dolg_general_petrenko_stalker_task_2")
The first one was using Method 1 from the video, the other 2 were using method 2 (I looked in the file "tm_bar.ltx)
