CADZIS great video learnt and followed to a T. I want to asked, using the same video and Shapebinder making holes, or cuts, if they will scale on the lid or base after adjusting the size
No… I do not think so…. Watch my other video on sub-shape binder. Hopefully it will explain the difference between the sub-shapebinder and shapebinder.
I've been following along the tutorial (very good), but when I got to 11:48, I was not able to select the lines. The dot's at the corners didn't show up. (actually crashed freecad after I tried various things). Perhaps a bug has been introduced recently. (I compile from source).
Hi CADZIS. as usually a very good video. Well done and explained. Still some problems. The screen color are so not helping to see the measurements etc..... Please can you make the screen an near white or white or light grey and measurements Black like in real life. You will than have one of the best videos there is. Thanks
Sorry UA-cam do not want this if in one part so made it in part 1 and part 2 Part 1 You are very good. You talk clearly and describe what and why you do something. You know your Cad very well. There is a problem. We are a group with poor/bad eye sight. For us to track or see a fast moving small black or white or any colored small pointer is very hard. Many times it just disappear. Please can you help us? In a video constrains and dimension in smallish red is about unreadable. There is a solution. For Windows:- catnip5.itch.io/mouse-highlight See part 2
These two shapebinder tutorials were amazing and helped me really understand the purpose of shape binding on a basic level!

Thanks for your comment. It should scale if you build your model correctly as described in the video.
this is probably best way to make lids fast. thanks for sharing this information.
You bet!
Excelent ! I've learned how to create a gap with shape binder and how to clip object !
Thanks again !
good.. Thanks
Would the sub-shapebinder take care of the clearance/tolerance with the offset adjustment option vs sketching off the binder?

Thanks for your great videos about FreeCad, I'm having a hard time choosing the right colors, will you share your color profile for FreeCad
Goto Preferences in Edit Menu. Under General , Select Dark-blue under Style sheet.
There used to be a "select all lines in loop" button in v.18. Did they remove it in v.19?
You can select multiple lines by double clicking.

tried again and it worked. Dot's still not showing up, so I think something borked.
@@chrisBruner good, that worked.

See part 2
Fillets from the 2 bodies need to have the same center : no need of symmetry constrain /same clearance in the 'corner'.
Good point
