It has been a while since I made a SnowRunner truck review! Let me know if I should make more. Hope you're all doing okay despite these particularly strange times!
I got this truck right when it released and was pleasantly surprised. The carefully tuned suspension makes it so much more fun to drive than other trucks in its tier. I used it as a trailer clean up vehicle since there is enough bite in the engine to haul those around quite nicely. The fun factor sure is turned up to 11 on that truck, I always try to find an excuse to use it.
Glad you're enjoying it, nice to see trucks with effort behind them. Although it's sad some people will miss out because it's separate from the passes!
I like little trucks like this. i use them to support bigger operations all the time, usually with the fuel tank add on. The TUZ Warthog is especially fun at high speeds and can handle almost anything with a bit of patience. The Warthog and Acteon are a fun pair and this new one sounds like a great addition to the trio though a bit repetitive. I'm always fiending for a new truck and while it's kind of expensive, i like to give Sabre my money. they put a ton of work into each season and then only charge like $6-10 for them. that's pretty wild in my opinion so $4 for a truck isn't the worst. I'm a total fan so this will definitely be added to my garage next time i jump in.
beautiful old school truck. I remember as a kid I traveled once in it irl in Siberian countryside ~ still remember the interior, engine sound, and it was so warm inside while -40 outside
That's amazing, very cool experience. I've driven in Iceland in a blizzard so I know a little of what that would be like. Although the car wasn't especially cool unlike the Croc!
As a whole, this baby is a collector's piece for folks like me who love vintage or militaria trucks but don't want them to be too overpowered like a lot of the mod options can often go. That said, for play-through rating I'd kinda call thing thing like a 1.5 tier, being better than a lot of the stock vehicles you'll get out of running Michigan but still under-preforming some of the beasties you'll find out in Alaska which I'd class as Tier 2s. Plus being a DLC means you don't have to ship out to Russia to get at least one, which is nice. As a whole, this thing is probably a little forgettable but I honestly don't mind much. It's nice having more variety, and some funky offroad kit that deviates from the usual trend. 3.99 is a tiny bit steep for it, but I've paid more and gotten less from other games, where it was like "Pay 7.99 for a single gun skin" so, meh I can tolerate it.
Yeah definitely worse value DLCs out there. I guess if you get more than two hours entertainment from it you've done better than if you went to see a movie. And I agree about the rest. It fits well and without being OP.
Well, in hard mode you have to move to Russian regions. I've recently bought it and use in hard mode playthrough, it's a very capable truck for what it costs. I've rescued the Tayga with it.
I really enjoy driving the Crocodile. It does great even in stock form. The custom tires & rims it comes with work surprisingly well. One other fun factor is in hard mode this truck is like 16k in game money. That's super cheap for all you get.
Yes, I am using for the same reason, at start on hard mode he is the best scout! And can carry fuel to make long travels without refueling! Price is cheap at same time is a beast all upgraded!
It's a decent truck but now that I am a fairly advanced player I tend to stretch and buy/recover key vehicles from which I then choose to invest in. An example is taking the CK 1500 to Russia at the first chance to recover not just the F750 but also recover most if not all of its upgrades. It took hours of (often frustrating) gameplay but has meant that playing Michigan and Alaska has been nothing short of a joy and by the time I do get to later levels I have enough money to buy all of the important add ons for that truck.
With the fuel tank add on and pulling a service trailer, I fixed the WWS, returned the trailer up the hill, went back and towed out the WWS with far more ease than I did I previously with the ANK Civilian.
Yeah I literally dragged a truck by winch around for 30 minutes trying to get four flat tires so I could drive it the distance for the achievement and never obtained for flats. I would predict this to be a rare achievement... that one tire is a true beast.
This was the first DLC truck I purchased and I don't regret spending the money at all. I've found several uses for the Crocodile in many different situations. Support vehicle, certainly. With the fuel tank addon, it's much more stable than the Warthog. But I also found it useful as a haul truck in more 'cramped' maps (like Rift or the two maps of the Don region) and areas. It really is a pleasure to drive, especially with the balloon mud tyres. I find it responsive, nimble and manoeuvrable. And it has good performance with saddle-low semi-trailers. It's an overall fun truck which I think won't disappoint. (Unlike the Land Rover pack, which I found sadly underwhelming.) Cheers! //Rick
From my opinion, you should do a video for every possible topic related to snowrunner! :) Took a small break from snowrunner because of elden ring and yesterday I decided: Why not play both!? :D Thanks for the video! I really like your channel! :)
Thank you very much. I am trying to add some different SnowRunner stuff to the channel, quite a few gaps! How's Elden Ring? I was tempted but not had much spare time recently.
@@ATribeCalledCars As a big souls fan, elden ring is a dream come true! It's basically everything you want from a souls game including one of the biggest open world's I've seen. So much attention to detail it's amazing. And it's looks amazing! :) Give it a try! It's absolutely worth it!
This truck with the fuel carrier and mud tires is a really good scout. Wisconsin is the only map I've flipped it easily so far but every truck flips there, even the cat trucks which are good in that map for the deep mud/shallow water combination.
I often find it difficult to make use of the smaller trucks in Snowrunner. They often end up on refueling duty or maintenance duty. So I'm not sure if I will buy this one, maybe when the new map comes out.
This truck goes to such extremities before rolling over that when it finally does, it usually does a full flip and ends up on its wheels again... That's way cooler than an autonomous winch..
I’m now level 21 in SnowRunner (I had to restart when I bough the game again on Series X) since playing the game I haven’t had a single flat tyre then the other day I was unlocking the garage in Imandra (again) and I had 12x flat tyres over 5x different trucks. That last update must have made the game more susceptible to flat tyres or something 🤷♂️
I feel like punctures have become more of a thing as we have progressed from day one, it used to be basically impossible unless you were an idiot and even then lol.
@@ATribeCalledCars it’s a great all rounder, a step up from the fleet star in versatility, only downside is it’s a tad longer than most 6x6s and it’s crazy expensive to buy, but you get one for free when you download the anniversary pack so it doesn’t really matter too much. Best Heavy Duty truck imo
Having bought both season passes, and all the DLC vehicles, I was least disappointed with the Croc, in terms of performance. The Jeep Wrangler is also relatively good, but I feel the rest aren't anything special. If DLC vehicles aren't providing a performance or utility advantage, then their only value is aesthetic. The Croc is one of the few DLC that, IMO, offers some degree off all three.
1 thing you didnt mention, Crocodile is really good race truck, even faster than Loadstar 1700. Only hard part is to learn how to take corners with it (need to play with throttle). I think on lap race its probably fastest vehicle..
@@ATribeCalledCars I’m pretty confident the newer one was the new defender based on the leaked photo as well as that it would make sense to have 2 defenders rather than like a defender and a disco 5 or something
No, I'm just an idiot and wrote 60fps because I've been filming more on PC recently. However, the video render output is 60fps. The next gen version should be here around Phase 7.
Its a Crocodile for a reason. a mean offroad vehicle. WIsh I didn't let 130 hours of gameplay and dust keep me from driving this thing alot. Wish this thing got an autonomous wench like the Tuz 16 Actaeon.
I think paid DLC trucks should be as accurate to real life as possible. Regarding sounds, handling, acceleration, fuel consumption, capacity, customisation and so on. Within the limits of the game physics engine.
I hesitated at the Russian association, but seeing as this is not a licensed truck and all my money would go to supporting the devs, I got the truck. And I am loving it! It's just as fun as the International Loadstar 1700 but with more versatility. Worth the few bucks it cost.

It might not be the best truck in the game but it's definitely my favorite, It's very fun to drive and feels like it can get decent speed.
dlc truck pack trucks seem to all have one thing in common, they are not needed, you buy em because you want too, not because you need too.

Just now, I recently take the Crocodile to the Amur, Russian Federation map and it honestly. I'm god-dang surprise of how much performance it put out.
It is a potent beast! Not used in a while though, the new Burlak 6x6 is pretty cool as a scout.

This truck kind of reminds me of the Ford 750 a half step between the big rigs and the scouts
Definitely a strong vibe.
I use it as a scout. Put a tanker on the back, and this thing will cross any map multiple times over.
Should be mentioned it is the only 2 axle vehicle (scout class not included) that has differential lock always on
