Hearts of Iron IV is a grand strategy wargame developed by Paradox Development Studio and published by Paradox Interactive. Fun fact, Peru is a naval nation (the capital and 70% of the population live in the coast, despite its "andean" reputation) and its known for having really good submarine crews.

that was a wild ride! I understand that most people don't think this DLC is even worth it, but as a south american I can say I'm enjoying every part of it.

Hey DAVE! Can you do a deep dive on Spies. We have all heard about creating a collab government, but there are so many other features that spies have, like stealing blue prints, influencing politics, sabotage and partisans, and concepts such as Encryption and Decryption. Can you do an explainer video that talks about these, and what, if any, country makes a great SPY MASTER. If you want to be the Super James Bond country in Multiplayer, how do you best support your faction with Spies!

A good QOL feature would be that you could attach fighters to a field marshall and he would just automatically split them equally in each army under him and automatically set their missions to start.

Also spread them on need, like which armies are fighting more heavily and are encountering more enemy fighters get more of the air assigned to the field marshal. I love microing air and air is mu favourite thing, but late game you have so many stacks it becomes a real drag to manage it

It’s kinda a bummer how many rude people I’ve seen in the comments of your videos, I for one really enjoy all formats you post. Regular 10-30 min vids are perfect for lunch and 1-3 hour is perfect for relaxing and shutting down before bed.

I'm impressed you were able to keep the game going until so late without it turning into a slide show.
I’ve actually had a lot of success with submarines taking out fleets and convoys by splitting them up into about 100-200 separate fleets of 1 and putting them on never retreat. You’ll have to keep a few production lines on subs but it also works. Plus all the convoys in the regions are pretty much guaranteed to be intercepted.

FYI Medium planes with torpedos make superior naval bombers in Cape Verde because they can range between the two continents.
Also Feedback have you experimented with Armor Piercing Bomb Locks + Dive Brakes CAS as an alternative to naval bombers? They don't do as much damage but have much better targeting.

Massive respect for going the full journey and taking out all of your enemies and truly completing this hoi4 game
I really want to know the bonuses of some tech like armored cars and if they are any worth using and what bonuses they grant you. Other tech also like rocket arty/rocket trucks would also be interesting to dive in on. Also super heavy battleships and the super heavy tank that can only be used as a support company now. A more in depth video on more of a naval nation and actually trying to make a good navy that isnt just cheap battleships would be cool too.
Only light tanks can paradrop, and they aren't good, both the recon and the fame version but if you are that late into the game might as well
I wish Peru had their own focus tree in the new DLC, it's kinda weird to see Chile get an Incan Empire focus when their most famous indigenous people were known for their resistance against the Incas (and Spaniards) lol
Their should be a commando spec ops division that does the same thing as paratroopers

For the auto upgrade thing, I think it has to do with how the plane is categorized. If it is a fighter, it will upgrade fighter components and not bombs/torps. That seems to be what I've noticed in my games.
Yep. I think it is. All purposes its still a fighter but some reason the game doesn't class it as 1
@@DaveFeedBackGaming But if you’re adding torpedoes it classifies it as a naval bomber and won’t upgrade it. Even though your design is a fighter. It’s like a logic check that the design/upgrade fails so it doesn’t do it.
For the extra building slot. It is only for where you have 100% infrastructure. Extra bonus for doing that in core territory. I think the airdrop for entrenched positions could be good. However it working with just 1 unit divisions is a bit of an issue. So right now it is a bit unbalanced. Aside from the already existing issues with para drop.s
ive been on a run with every axis member and some others like soviets, and Im finding submarines to be mind meltingly overpowered. Even tried the panzershiff with some mild success although it can only cover like 2 regions effectively
So to clarify about latin/south/central america thing :
- Latin America is a cultural group that include all american countries with latin cultures (overwhelmingly spanish and portuguese issued, and a tiny part of french-influenced carribean countries)
- South America is the part of America that is either south from
- the Panama Canal (just like the Asia-Africa divide nowaday is on the Suez Canal)
- or the Darien Gap, a de facto impassible terrain between Panama and Colombia (in fact, when Panama was a part of Colombia, most travels between the two actual contries were entirely made by sea)
- Central America is the "latino" part of North America, going from the US border to Panama, sometimes including the carribean islands
And yes, despite its name, Central America is part of the "North America" continent, because that's what happen when 2 continents share the almost same name

Doomsday in Hoi II was maybe the best DLC on earth... i loved Hoi 3 cs of the Officer Management... i hope and pray to the Paradox gods for Hoi 5 gets a sort of command structure like Hoi 3. you liked it? i think you never talked about it, or maybe on the 2nd channel and i missed it. Hey feedback. Could you go indepth on the spy agency? What upgrades are a waste of time maybe a tier list? Can you tell up why we have a maxxed out agency but can see focuses of nations with max spy level? Is it a skill issue lol?

if you hover over the AI attack order, it actually shows you the tiles that the plan will attempt to take in the attack, in order one after another. and you can change that order with the edit command, ot just the frontline length.
so you can avoid attacking into mountains with that.
Things that give me physical pain in these videos 1) not renaming templates to something descriptive, 2) not researching MPs & making a resistance suppression specific division so you start fixing resistance immediately when capturing stuff. It's so easy it would take 30 seconds and then you just have to balance the equipment cost, but you never do it until long after you actually need it lol.

Yes I know that you'll get access to concentrated/dispersed industry through it, but you still have about zero mills

I see where you're coming from. Its a tough call. Concentrated/dispersed are definitly the long term winners with a flat output bonus however I was desperate in the first war to have a tiny bit extra artillery to have a edge

Paratroop spam shouldn't be in the game at least not the way it is now where you can just spam single battalion units over and over again without having to repeatedly plan for it, and where they aren't shot down or immediately attacked by defending troops, going into a forest as well against entrenched units. There were probably 40,000 defenders in that first attack you made with them but they instantly deorg. It's too exploity for me. It took 18k paratroops on DDAY backing up 150,000 marines, three times the amount of local defenders and quite a few operations paratroops were slaughtered or shot to pieces even if they won local battles.

I actually watched the whole video. You left 3 "out-take,out-take, out-take" in😅.
I would like to make a few suggestions of improvement on your strategies:
1. CAS in South-America is more important than fighters, so i'd build them in the beginning with droptanks, since you wont face opposition anyway.
2. I think building submarines isn't that good anymore. So, with that kind of industry, I would have build light cruisers, with light-attack stacked: they get radar and shred eveything and can convoy-raid better. They are more flexible, too: e.g. you can have a maximum air-attack cruiser-build convoy-raid the english channel, since they would be too fast for the british strike-fleet and planes can't touch them.
3. The floats on the torpedo-bomber were a bad idea, as you did not need more detection in the sea regions, you had already radar and the debuff is so big. Durability is more important imo.
4. I wouldn't put rockets on planes. The damage is minimal and if you already have air superiority, you can make cas more durable.

As someone who has friends (and are trying to get into Hoi iv), Dave helps a lot of us. The game has a terrible tutorial, and if someone isn't as chronically screen bound as you are, they won't know the meta or the optimal version of playing the game.

Unlike what your keyboard warriors think, I'm not screen bound. I'm not going to sit here and bullet point all the useless things that are repeated in every video. You used to post good vids back in the day when you would actually use your brain. Now you just yolo a topic and repeat the same blabber every video. It's repetitive and monotonous. But each to their own. I'm salty I lost a good content creator; but if you've found others who have the engagement for you, then good. Make sure you also remind these people that to open doors, you need to use the door handle. Or to drink water from a bottle, you must unscrew the lid.@@DaveFeedBackGaming

10:47 Funny story on not being able to repair South American ships, Argentina and Chile had a naval arms race over contested borders that ended in disarmament in 1902.
