the democratic germany in hoi4 is not a republic, it has wilhelm the third as constituional monarch. thats why democratic germany is called just germany and not german republic

2)delete all divisions and templates;
3)make fattest cavalry division possible;
4)start civil war;
5)make smallest division template possible;
6)train smallest template and force deploy them;
7)rush to victory points by giving divisions garrison order, walk around any enemy division.
Context: big divisions take forever to deploy. And small single battalion cavalry is a very fast division too.

@@DaveFeedBackGaming for some countries yes. But worked like a charm for Poland, allowing me to just ignore one side of sanation whenever I wanted plus get free early total mob.
58:32 if I get the button right, it merges all divisions till there are only full ones left. The problem is, if you for example have an army that needs artillery but you have nearly none, that means it merges divisions till there are only divisions left with full artillery, even if this sends thousands of infantry equipment to storage
In defense of the conferences a little bit.. Feedback did take Eastern Poland in the USSR peace deal which kinda forced Poland to take land elsewhere and also caused them to lose points while contesting demands.
Denmark likely cancelled their trade agreement because when you annexed Russia, you caused a lot of world tension, which lowered Denmark's relations to -85

I think excavation tech also increases the amount of rubber you get and some updates back when synthetic refineries made Oil appear in a way you could trade it, it also increased the amount of Oil you got, if now doesn't do because the synthetic oil always goes to the oil supply instead of creation 1 or more Oil resource on the province, something it still does with rubber.
What I learnt from this peace conference system is that you need to contest the AI as less as possible because it's a game of who's the dumbest between you and it so you take the states you really want, you take the unclaimed states and that's it trying to get everything like the old system allowed you to do doesn't work anymore. I gave up with pretty borders tho i just try to avoid it being gore and awful

Yeah, there needs to be natural historical boundaries, or ethnic unifications options in peace conferences. Something that makes partitioning more obvious. For instance. Poland, Slovakia, Lithuanian, Czech and Latvia. Should have some kind of peace treaty option that lets them unify the Western Slavs, and if war participation is greater then they should have the option to unify the baltic Slavs in the same way, kind of how Reichskommissariat's work, but with full unification. And if war participation isn't good enough, then only partial annexation should be possible.
Isn't this what claims are supposed to represent? Also isn't puppeting pretty much quasi annexation? What we could need are different options to puppet states with different levels of freedom, so you could, if you have enough war score, puppet someone to the lowest level of autonomy where they actually give you factories and stuff
43:25 at the civil war you lose SS generals. It doesn't decide based on their historical affiliations, it just keeps or removes based on whether they were associated with the Wehrmacht or thr SS. This is why you lose Dietrich but not Guderian
you lose only those generals that have the "politically connected" trait. so most SS generals and FM Model. you get to keep Steiner though despite him being SS because he has no traits. maybe it's an easter egg from paradox (Steiner famously disobeyed Hitler who ordered him to counterattack in last days of war).

I've done this path a few times, it a lot more fun than I thought it would be at first. for some reason evertime I do UK goes fascist which I dont understand, France goes communist and joins the commentern (makes sense cause I'm fairly certain the democratic path exiles communist to France but that may be the Kaiser path that joins the allies i dont remember), and Italy ends up at war with me, some times ending up in the allies with UK. its a ridiculously fun game to play if your up for that many fronts early on.

Might be worth noting (unless you did) Poland's war score was high from occupation but you could have taken a lot of that land while the war was on by requesting it, earning more participation, and getting them cheaper in peace conference as they were occupied by you when it ended

FeedBackGaming, General traits on Field Marshals DO work for Generals under their command, but at 50% effectiveness.
Hey Dave, about the merging divisions button at 58:03 where you say it shouldn't merge every division into 1 div, is because it merges every division that you have selected. Since you had the whole army selected it merged the whole army into 1 div.

It merges every selected division into fully strength divisions. If ur divisions don't have enough equipment to make a fully strong division, ull be left with 1 not fully strong division, Cuz there's still missing equipment in it
In the video, it was the lack of guns I think
What happened was that the army was on a low priority theater, so the equipment from the merging got shifted into the higher priority theater

whats funny is as democratic germany, without going to war with poland, you still ended up with 1/2 of poland
im more of a 'inner defence line' guy. the moment i take new terretory, i set up new Infrastructure and all the good stuff......this includes new bunkers. is it unneccesary ? probably.....but is it a force of habit via rollplaying ? yes, absolutely.....after all: you arent german, if you dont build massive concrete structures everywhere you go, right ? ;)
I managed to form the EU quickly in my last game but caused too much world tension to go down this route. But, Romania, in my faction, declared war on the USSR, which served to get me a goal against them. Maybe they wanted Bessarabia back, I didn't really pay attention.
Did you ever move garrison of of schnelle (the Austrian horses) onto your superthick garrison template? At 1:09:55 it looks like the Austrian template is still in use.
Oddly enough this was what I did in my first Germany playthrough
what I hate with this sistem is that if you're alone sometimes you need to left things or do others less expensive or leave half of the navy behind.

I like this. I learned a little bit about naval invasions and a bit about garrison suppression. Still don't understand the Mio stuff but I didn't buy the new DLC, not sure if it's worth it. Also, I don't understand why Player-led Peace Conference isn't on all the time, especially if you're not going for an achievement run
Dave "Civil war is easy". If you want a challenge try Road to 56's verison of Democratic Germany. That is not a walk in the park without some cheese. Though the trade off is the oath once the civil war is over is much easy to do.
11:50 you do get double pp but if you select a focus it will charge you up those 10pp if you would have waited

I do this Focus Path and i love it.
Alternatively what you can do is go down the Rhineland path immediately and then go Democratic with an advisor, allowing you to go down the historical path while being democratic.
Dave - Read Monty's Men, you'll find it quite interesting. Really compares the doctrine of Superior Firepower (favoured by the British and commonwealth), compared to the Germans infiltration either mobile or people.
Ive always deleted my ship production as germany and even disbanded starting submarines. ever since the naval bomber nerfs submarines are actually viable so ive been using more german navy in recent playthroughs. that said the german navy sucks down so much oil I legit think the best strat is to not make navy even so. its just not worth the fuel constraints it puts on you. if your willing to play a bit dirty and cheese you can easily obtain the italian\french navies and just muscle past the UK anyhow

I like making one artillery battalion divisions for the AI.

8:00 That is not really correct.
If you make someone an Artillery Specialist advisor, it will NOT improve the Artillery as a part of your divisions, it gives this massive boost to Artillery Divisions. Artillery divisions are those divisions where the weighted part of the division that is artillery is the highest.
So if you have a 7/2 Division the artillery Millitary high command will not do anything, because it's an Infantry division. If you have a 4 Infantry/4 Artillery division however, then it's an Artillery division and it will get those bonuses on attack and defense (of the entire division, not just the Artillery companies).
I don't know the weighting (e.g. a 5 Motorized / 3 Medium Tank is still a tank division because tanks "weight more" per company then Motorized but I don't know exact numbers) but when you flip from an infantry to an artillery division, the default icon and the 3D model changes, so that's your indicator, what kind of division you have.
This was recently changed in a pdx patch. Its not proportional for high command dudes. General traits work the old way

Efficiency cap does not increase efficiency growth. For instance, efficiency growth is 0.05% per day, efficiency base is 50%, and efficiency cap is 100%. It takes 1000 days to reach 100% cap. But if efficiency cap is 200%, efficiency growth will be 0.1% per day; it still takes 1000 days to reach 200%. If you have 10% Efficientcy growth the growth you really get is 0.055% which mean it only cost you 900 days to reach 100% cap.

I kinda dislike this civil war because it literally isn't designed to be won by either side. Like, nearly any other civil war is a bit of a fight, but here the other Gwrnany doesn't even get a focus tree, they just get the generic one
