      Calvinism/Lordship Salvation is very pervasive these days. I believe that's why the truth tellers are so unpopular. I love Yankee.

      @@havenofear7033 free grace is so awesome. It makes me push harder . I quit alcoholic drinks completely not to prove myself as a Christian but for rewards to be faithful. It is so easy. Also God will grant me this prayer because it is in his will. 7 months without a drop . Granted I was only drinking 2 beers a week . Love this forum.

    Wow I love these sermons. I wish I could find a church like this. I am a new Christian and I live in Japan. My 4 year old son and I attend a Lutheran church in Tokyo and we really enjoy going. I am hoping that they teach the Gospel like this. I am lucky to be able to find a church at all since I am in Japan. I just want to be in a nice community of Christians! If anyone has advice, tell me and God bless.

      I agree. I am a member of church of Believers but I long for people that want to get together just to talk about the Lord.
      I don't have that.
      It's no judgment on them. They are lovely people.

    I believe so much in Jesus Christ, that if I were living in the day when he was walking the Earth, I would’ve been one of those followers. I would’ve been in awe 🫢 of that Son of Man. I would have gawked at Him so long you couldn’t have torn me away from his presence. 😢

    Good message. However my only concern is why are the only examples of serving God ever given usually always something to do with the church... meaning, volunteering, teaching Sunday school, pastoring or becoming a missionary? I don't think that is very fair. We don't always know what is going on in peoples lives or the struggles they may be facing. For some people just getting a job and putting food on their families table may be their own personal mountain to climb. Now some of us may joke about that... but for them, if they have been raised by abusive parents, maybe sexually molested and have zero experience of being properly loved by parents ... then get saved.. they may be dealing with things for years that others can't even think of. For them.. their dream is just to be normal... get a job and maybe dream of a wife and children.. and raise them as they never were raised. They believe God. They trust God... and by stepping out and being responsible in ways they were never taught.. is their personal work of serving God and being a good witness. It could even be a mom who is simply exhausting her self in loving her family and raising her children teaching them to respect and believe in the Bible and love their neighbor and honor their father. But we might be tempted to look down on them because they never volunteer at the church or do any street preaching. I think we need to be very careful about implying that the only way to serve God is by volunteering at the church. If there are ever statues of "the greatest" of us in heaven.., not that I believe that... just to make a point ... they might not always be of missionaries and pastors..... they could well be of poor uneducated mothers who worked their fingers to the bone giving all they had to their children training them up in the Lord. Just sayin.

    A very good biblically balanced message.
    On the one hand you have the Lordship Salvationists who abuse this passage to cause doubt and insecurity over one's salvation, and on the other extreme you have the Hyper-Grace movement which can't handle what this passage is saying. The traditional Free Grace view is the most biblically accurate soteriological position.
    We are saved by faith alone, and SHOULD work for the Lord once we've been saved. A Christian who doesn't work for the Lord has wasted and missed the purpose of life.

      Where sin abounds grace abounds even more.

    • @foechicken8023
      @foechicken8023 Рік тому +7

      I agree with ypu except when you use the phrase "hyper-grace". It is a term used to degrade those of us that are Believers because the LShippers can't handle the freedom we have as Believers.
      There is no such thing as "hyper- grace". Grace is grace. You can't go beyond simply grace.

    • @PansySilverhand77
      @PansySilverhand77 Рік тому

      Lol what is “hyper grace”. Grace is hyper by definition. Its a term used to mock and degrade free gracers. And there is no “hyper gracer” who does not teach that we SHOULD do good works and that sin is destructive etc. I have never heard any person say that. We all say we should, not have to in order to prove salvation like a litmus test.

      In 1 John 5:13 it says that you can know you have eternal life. Two things to point out. It says that you can know. Secondly, something that is eternal (aka everlasting) can never be lost. This is why you can know you have it. It's a one time transaction. If you could lose it then it couldn't be called eternal life.
      1 John 5:13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

    There are many deceived people all over the internet that read James 2 and do not understand the context. James is talking about being justified by works before man and NOT before God. It is amazing how so many do not study and read the Bible. They don't read or maybe they read Romans 4 and still don't get it.
    Romans 4
    4 What shall we say then that Abraham our father, as pertaining to the flesh, hath found?
    2 For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God.
    3 For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.
    4 Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt.
    5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.

    So HOW do you EXPLAIN Matthew 25 where works are REQUIRED to enter the KINGDOM of God? The damned are sent to Hell who SAY they BELIEVED in Jesus, but did no good works. Response?

    • @Northlandchurchstc
      @Northlandchurchstc  10 місяців тому +5

      Matthew 25 does not say the works are required. It says that the righteous will inherit the kingdom. The only way we can become righteous is by trusting Jesus Christ as our savior.
      Romans 3:22 - Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:

      Jesus came to the Jews under the law. People were saved by faith believing that He was The Messiah, God in the flesh. He preached the gospel of the Kingdom. He is the Head of the body, the Church which we are a part of. Paul was given the meaty teaching for the age of grace which we are now in. He was the Apostle to the Gentiles. We are saved by faith, believing the gospel of grace, trusting in His death, shed blood, burial and resurrection. We are not under law, but live the Christian life by the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit.
