I definitely agree. Few people perceive anime for mere cartoons and sadly doesnt apprehend the depths within. 'Shelter' is essentially a mouthpiece for integrating musical and animation artistry, hence successfully creating a beautiful product. Good job Porter Robinson and team 👏🏽

General mindset in North America is that Japanese Animation is "just cartoons" and only children watch cartoons. That is why most North Americans don't like Anime. They don't want to be thought of as childish for watching cartoons. IMHO

Most of them are just ignorant. A lot of anime series have really good life lessons/meanings behind the awesome visuals. It's like "WOW, more kids these days should be watching anime instead of other crap."
I just don’t like it personally. It’s not animation itself, there’s just something odd about it for me. This video is an exception however.

I loved the Music video....the feelings in me are not to describe when I was watching it....I wish in future that some more like this comes out, because it's something what takes the watcher in a world that shows you how beautiful things can be and how harmonics music with animation could be. I'm really fan of it ^-^

One of the best reaction/review I have watched so far. I have been watching a few reaction vids, but this is the one that can really "say" my feeling while watching this masterpiece.
Nguyễn Hồng Thiên same. really liked how he incorporated their thoughts and feelings about it afterwards.
I think people doesn't like anime because some of it have a shitty story. and some that hav a shitty story, ironically, turned into a famous ones and that people watched them, got a trauma, and assume that all anime are just like that shitty one, but believe me. I've been watching the since I was child until now I'm 21 (and still love anime). I found one that made me cry like I never been. it is a shame that some people didn't get it. it just like watching a western animation movies like Disney and such, just with a different art style. This one is also a prof that Japanese animation is not bad. love this one too actually :)
This is the best collaboration ever happened and I am really lucky that I watch it back then. After all this year I am still shocked that this is not that big as I thought, this deserve more attention, its not like they made video clip for the music or they made music for the anime, it is one whole art and it is really beautiful, I cry everytime I watched it

ManimeTV this videoclip is about a father who saved his own daughter from the disaster that was a planet coming towards earth, to safe her he created a spaceship to safe her from disaster even though the price to pay was her loneliness. she is connected to those wires so she could live in her own virtual reality world and create it how she wants it to be by drawing in a tablet. its truly beautiful! it maked me cry 4, 5 times every time i watch it
now im crying for the 3rd time beause i think that the story is beyond sad.....sht 4th time..

totally had the same reaction. I was enjoying the amazing song and animation then BAM! The story shows us that "what the hell" moment when we realize what just happened to Rin, her father and humanity
The girl was transported to space because it was the end of the world or it was gonna be the end of the world,a planet was going to crash in earth,she had a father that made her a table that she could use to create things in a virtual way, and that made her feel that she was with someone else...not alone in other words.

So the story was that jupiter got pissed at earth one day and earth was about to be destroyed and her father didnt want her to die and that flash back was about how there last day of them together so the father created a capsule and that virtual reality where she can make anything and so conclusion her father loved her so much that he would save her so that she can be happy
It was really sad for me cause she cried when her father left her it gives me emotion
O yeah so her father and the rest of humanity and earth is destroyed and her father didnt wanted her to die so her father saved her even though it cost his life it is a really sad short video
