Basically the story in short:
She had a really clever scientist dad. Her childhood was amazing. A horrible thing happened and the earth was about to be destroyed. But her dad saved her and sent her on a space ship in to another planet or somewhere far from planet earth. She was in deep sleep inside that ship so she could survive without food, water nor sleep. And all of that drawing and stuff she did was inside of her maybe never ending slumber.
Its also important to note that the message she got was from her father, from the past, to her daughter in the future. He wanted to go with her, but didn't have enough time.

The ship hasn't landed for over 2000+ Days. The spaceship was still looking for a Earth-Like Planet where she can live. His dad was also going to ride the spaceship but the lack of materials wasn't enough. The father thought that her daughter is more important. His dad conncected a wire to something (we don't know) so that the Daughter would be able to live in the mind of her own and create a beautiful world.

It seemed like it was trying way too hard to make the viewer cry. It just employed a bunch of easy and typical tropes.
I saw Porter Robinson live at a music festival and it was the most beautiful concert I've ever been to. The art and lights were spectacular and his live set is so unique and well put together.

Well, if you look closely at the end, you can tell that the space pod found a destination and is now heading towards it so in a way there is definitely more than meets the eye

That's why they must first read the synopsis before watching the video. if you first watch the video without knowing it's plot then it's hard to understand it. when i first saw it i was in tears after i watch it without reading it's plot in the description. maybe because i was too lonely or maybe because i watched too much anime's.

9:24 What she doesn't know is Porter had to actually fly to Japan multiple times and get to be almost hands-on with the whole project. Add to the fact that the studio, A1 Pictures, is known for producing AAA anime titles, it is more than just a music video, it is a cultural shift.
Dude had to fly out and meet the people behind the project like 8 times at least iirc.

What if the spaceship was in a trajectory to another planet or space station. It would take years to get there so her dad put her mind in a simulated world to keep her sane from being lonely for years.
That is what it is doing as you can see a trajectory leaving the solar system During one of the shots.

Yeah makes sense, I could think of that her dad a scientist and space researcher made a space capsule and launched her into space and heading towards a planet with life or space station to meet other living humans and decide what to do next. Sad that her dad didn't have time enough to make another space capsule for himself. :(

The girl's dad was some sort of scientist (the technology that we see when she remembers the days with her father proves it) and he knew that the Earth would collide with another planet, so he builds up a spaceship or capsule to save his daughter and keep her under a profound sleep or an induced comatose. The video (except for the memories) takes place inside her mind, that is somehow still 100% conscious of all the things that have happened. The tablet is just something she created inside the lucid dream that now is her life.
That's my theory.

It would be nice, but what should the story be? It is very hard to get at least 12 episodes form what this video clip has o offer. Also most feels come from the music in combination with the short fragments of story. And I think that it should keep this open ending, it gives room for own interpretation.

When I saw this my mouth dropped! I can't believe they actually reacted to this! I've been listening to Porter and Hugo for the past five years now, and they finally came out with a collab! I've never been an anime person but damn shout out to Porter and Hugo and the animators for this video. This song is just amazing, and to have an amazing video with it makes it one of the best pieces of art I've ever seen. Definitely my favorite release of 2016!

if you are into electronic music you should know them. They are pretty recognizable there. They have really original sounds. Like you should check "Fellow feeling" from Porter, IF you really want hear his music. Also they made first song, and later on they collaborate with Japanese producers

Man, I remember this was the video that introduced me to this song 7 years ago. I never let go of it since. I decided to watch the video without the reactors, and christ, this really impacted 12-year-old me so much that I became really sensitive to intense drama after that. It was a beautiful video and a beautiful song, but damn, it really scarred me even 7 years later.
