Shelter has for a very long time been a favorite video of mine. Not just because the song is amazing but the video, the story they tell is so amazing. I cried the first couple times I watched it because its so sad but also so touching because the dad just did whatever he could think of to save his little girl. Also as an American I had someone else explain to me that they were walking around celebrating holidays at the wrong time because he just wanted her to experience that fun holiday tradition one last time before the world ended.
That makes so much sense now, no one else was there to celebrate Hatsumode(the first shrine visit) which is usually celebrated on new year's and packed with people
I will say though, this music video shook me hard when I first saw it. Just the thought of being alone like that, knowing everyone you know is dead and you could possibly be the last human being. In a way, I think it's a pretty terrible fate to have. One can only hope that there is a happy ending where she is picked up by another larger ship with other humans that escaped. She could also be headed to an earth like planet where other humans escaped to. Who knows.
It's one of those things where I don't know whether to be sad or happy for her.
I'd even settle for friendly aliens.

I'm so grateful you watched this, I wasn't expecting it. Every time I've ever watched this, by myself, with someone else or watching a reactor, I break down crying, it's such an emotional ride, and everyone, absolutely everyone, feels something for this amazing video/song.

When I first started watching you, think K/DA - Pop/Stars was the first video I came across, I remember searching to see if you had already reacted to this music video. I am surprised I didn't recommend it myself. Glad someone else did though. I actually have been waiting for this reaction lol. This video resonates with me on another level coz I have mental issues that result in a very disconnected mindset. It's a lot to get into. In the end this video represents in my eyes how much my parents sacrificed for me to be able to still be alive today. Breaks my heart every time I watch it.

I’m not 100% but I think the video is about an apocalyptic event that’s happening to the world and everyone dies, but her father is a scientist who created a pod able to save her and keep her alive in a kinda stasis, a forever sleep but loaded with memories in like a dream world for her to live on. It’s so sad the music is lovely!

Just a suggestion but if you want to see an awesome piece of anime history you should watch Daicon IV it's a cool animation made in the early 80s for a convention by a dozen people who would later go on to make the anime studio Gainax
