Thanks for the advice Dan, been having some troubles myself lately, and I am doing what you did and keeping copies of everything in a file and keeping myself to myself. I cant imagine how bad you felt while all this was going on and having to deal with it on your own. At the end of the day, haters will never outsmart someone with intelligence. Good on you I think you made an extremely smart decision on how you handled them. Hope lifes better for you now a days :-) atb DD

This video, in my opinion, demonstrates the other half of why I'm a fan. The detecting is great. But it's your character and trueness to self that keeps me here.
I've been a subscriber for a few years now, and I find it sickening that someone would spread rumours about someone who is legitimate and professional. Dan is pretty much the definition of gentleman, he handles everything the way he's supposed to. Keep up the great work Dan!

Dan, I have been watching you for a couple of years, and I must say that you have a level of class that is hard to find in a lot of people. Your videos have always been entertaining, and informative. This guy is beneath you, and his video only proves it beyond a doubt. He made himself look stupid, while trying to act contrite about something he was not sorry at all about. You letting it go, only shows what kind of class act you are. I am proud to be a viewer of yours, and will continue to be so as long as you upload.

Good job Dan! I love how you went about this. Very mature of you, on how you're giving them one last chance to make it "right" (lack of a better word) I've been enjoying your videos for the past year or more, and I can't wait for more to come.
You know you've made it big when you have web sites devoted to hating you. May the haters be eaten up by their own self hate.
As a fairly casual viewer of your channel (I don't metal detect, I just like your videos) I hope it will console you to know that this is the 1st time I heard of this. Unfortunately people in the metal detecting circles may have been mislead, but I suspect a large part of your audience missed all this entirely. In any case it is not your reputation that has ended up damaged in the end.
Dan a year half ago I was taken very ill my recovery has taken a while but has been helped along by people like you .you have brought me entertainment and hope .on behalf of my young children 5 8 16 years and myself i thankyou .
Hey Dan, I am so sorry you've been through this. My son and I were speaking a couple days ago about why people do what they do against successful UA-camrs. He calls it being "butt hurt" which simply means they're jealous! They look at your success and they think they can do the same thing and are offended that you're successful and they're not!
Balls of steel to keep comments open on a video like this, Dan. I respect the ever-loving crap out of that.
This is a damn shame Dan. Im really sorry this happened. What's worse is i didn't know what he was actually doing to you... As I watched the video, I realized that he did the same thing to me. I wouldn't promote his products... it all began from there. Like you, I said nothing while he continued to talk about me in videos, comments, etc..
