- The romhack I posted a video of a couple weeks ago is now released! Play through all of Pikmin 2 with fully functional purple and white onions instead of using the ship. It is obviously very overpowered, and there's not much room in the vanilla overworlds to put 5 onions. For this reason I want people to use this as a base for their own Pikmin 2 hack! Just as long as you credit me for it of course.

To a lesser extent of this, i always wanna do a no death run of 2 because purples and whites arent expendable since they are so rare, but this mod fixes that a bit.

Imagine if he coded a Bulbmin onion.
It wouldn't be much harder, I experimented with bulbmin 3 years ago and everything works fine, they even go in the rocket at the end of the day and stack up your pikmin population. This means bulbmin are pretty much the same as purple and white pikmin. My guess that if he can create purple and white onions he can create a bulbmin onion as well

@@absolution9249 This is really cool to know. They're OP but having them as rare rewarding Pikmin that you could earn when clearing difficult dungeons would be awesome as an idea. Not a coder myself but seeing how fans like yourself and PikHacker can inject some creativity into the mix is refreshing. Because I wouldn't mind not being able to farm them easily if there was just a way to use them more often.
@@ThedeadMapleoak I'm not in, I experimented with it 3 years ago, but I can't compete with other youtubers anymore. I focused more on making my own games, but I barely still have time for that since I now run a car dealership lol

Imo this is a big move for the modding pikmin 2, since new romhacks can use (with permission/if Pikhacker does another) this for their story

@@imjameyxo2625 Bulbmin and Pikpik carrots wouldn't be much harder to do, if he coded a white and purple onion, then he probably could code a bulbmin onion. I already got it to work with a gecko code.

@@kierangallagher6265 I forgot how .bat files work. but thanks to a friend, I got it working. Now I have over 120 whites and purples, and I'm not even on Day Nine yet!

One possible way to balance this would be to only produce a fraction of the normal Pikmin output, similar to the Lumiknolls in Pikmin 4.

Hello i am on phone and i can't not patch the rom on phone is there a way to do it on phone?
I have the same problem, I put it on the unipatcher but it doesn't recognize the file as a patch

I don't know if you're still having trouble with this or even want to do it anymore but you can have someone send you the patched ISO

I love it. Now with the game I feel it would be to easy. Maybe purple Pikmin do less/no flinch on bigger creatures, and making so white Pikmin don't do as much poisin damage when consumed. Or you could even make it so pellets are more scarce and kills don't give you as many pikmin making it so you actually have to be careful with which Pikmin you raise. Just some ideas

Hello! I have a problem, i have already Patched up my pikmin 2, but when i try to load it with Dolphin, the game doesn't start, the emulator shows it is running, but the game is stuck in a black screen, i have tried using a different Dolphin version and it doesn't work either (Even using with memory size override at max) can you tell me if there is a certain dolphin version that runs the game or it is some configuration?

Personaly i think that the purple onion should be hard to get to, like still have purple candypop buds but move the purple onion so its hard to get, same with the white onion but put it in a more secluded area somewhere where the player would need to look for it.
All im saying is i dont like how easy they are to get like h purple pikmin are the second pukmin you get but make the onion more out there fo find. Im not sure of it os posable to do thoes just an idea.
If I make a mod, then I will definitely use this~ Sadly, this is for the GameCube version, and if I'm modding it, I'd be doing it to the Wii version...

My only complaint is the Doomsday Apparatus will be stupid easy to get now that there’s a purple onion and pellets.
well really theres no difficulty in re entering the same cave over and over to make purples so i just see it as a time saver
