Wow! It was so good to see the Kenai peninsula. I lived in Alaska in the '70s/80s for 10 years, six in Homer. You brought back so many good memories. Enjoy!
I am so grateful fot your videos of Alaska. I was there in 2005 with my daughter for a high school graduation trip I planned in June 2005.. I have always wanted to return since there is so much to see. I would never get to see all this without your excellent videos! So much fun! Thank you! And, Happy very belated Birrhday Katheryn.
Just got home from a 10 day trip to the Kenai Peninsula with a few guys from work. Most unbelievable trip ever. And we managed to be there for the first solid week of the year, beautiful weather all week. I can't wait to go back.
Excellent adventure. I wish to add a story about Hope (the name). I met this old-timer who had lived up there for years. He now resides in Arizona. He told me that the way he understood it was Hope got its name after the first people that lived there. It became a saying back then: Tomorrow we hope to see the sun. As the population grew so did the saying. In later years they had to think up a story about the name and glory be, here came Pierce Hope, just hopped off the train. He's been living out here now for a few years and now he hopes the sun will never go down except summer. Glad y'all are feeling better. Don't feed the bears!🙂
Thank you so much for taking us along your fantastic journey in Alaska. The views at the begining of the video are spectacular. Being out in nature is so good for the soul.i just don't have words for how I felt watching this video. Please accept my sincerest thank you for sharing these thrilling views and history of Alaska. 🥰🌻🐕🇺🇸
Oh my gosh! These videos just get better and better! AK is a beautiful state with so much to see & do! I’ve did 3 cruises to AK but next I want to just do land only! Thank you for all the videos! Giving me some great ideas what to do next time we go! I was thought Adam was going halibut fishing, nope just taco😂
Yes we highly recommend traveling by land in an RV if you can! There is so much to see and do and it's best to be able to do things at your own pace. The tacos were spectacular!
Oh I’m so glade to see both of you had speedy recovery from Covid. My husband also asked me to extend his warmest wishes to you. He is a typical IT guy without any social skills, even though he opened an UA-cam account just to give you one more subscriber and he loves all the videos, he still finds himself out of courage or appropriate words to leave in the comments section.🙄 So I just want to let you know he loves you and he does click the like 👍 button every time 🥰🥰🥰🤣🤣🤣
I love when you guys visit the smaller towns and Hope is not exception. I also like that you don't skim over the small local museums too. Skilak lake is gorgeous, those colors are amazing! When people think of Alaska, I think most of think of snow and mountains. I had a friend go during the summer years ago and he couldn't stop talking about the wildflowers. It's really nice to see you guys experience them too.
That museum was high quality! And Hope was a nice little gem filled with very nice people. We're glad we got to do the Skilak hike...it was amazing! Ya you always think of snow and Alaska, but the summers are wonderful!
The town looked so beautiful and charming! Would love to spend some time there. Glad you're feeling better - but that sucks getting sick on the road. So much beautiful hiking... even the failed attempt.
What a great time you had visiting Homer and the beautiful hikes and views (we all) took in with you. Hope, AK is such a beautiful place, would of never seen it had I not been here watching !!!!! Thxs.
I L❤️VED the intro to this video…Kathryn yelling “I Love Alaska!” So much beauty…love the coastal towns…they look like what I think Alaska looks like! The coffee stand, tacos and EVERYTHING else was fabulous! I also loved your music choices and all of the history! I could go on and on…just love you three…you are so real and talented❣️😘❤️❤️❤️🐶🥰
Glad to hear you're recovering from Covid., and continuing with Alaska. Best buy $$ the US ever made. Most of us are lucky that you can show us the Alaska views that only we can dream of. Plan 2 was not disappointing. Waiting for the next episode. 👍👍🏍🏍🏍🙋♂️
I have been praying for your Safety while in Alaska from the wildlife, I never thought to pray for COVID-19 😳. I praise God you both came through it and that there will be no lingering affects 🙏🙏🙏💖
I visited Alaska twice- in 2004 and 2010. It is the most beautiful place. And it is so large it is impossible to see all of it in one visit. Enjoy your stay !
Still loving your excellent videos. Just think how much fun you will have reliving these adventures in your old age......well when the number gets a lot bigger. I have a feeling you will still be on the go but this documentation is just stunning. Thank you for sharing with us and making me wish I was still there.
Beautiful job, the scenery is stunning and you guys are a great team. Just discovered your van tour and this lead me to your channel.. Lots of vids to watch and you are both really good communicators. I look forward to working my way through your journeys.👍
So happy to have discovered you two. Been binging on your adventures and have absolutely no regrets 😆. Love your channel, your honest take on your situations, and mostly your way of traveling. Not just about “van life” or “travel” for the sale of travel. You both have this rare quality about how you present your adventures that is just so lovable. My wife and I are grateful for your work and we thoroughly enjoy every second of your videos. Keep it up and stay uniquely you. We so enjoyed our latest trip to Redding area thanks in part to your Redding episode.
Your Alaska adventure is so fantastic ! Have enjoyed every moment and can appreciate all the work you put into planning, researching, and recording so we can all enjoy it with you. So glad you are recovered from your illness and can adventure on ! Hugs from your Oregon Buddy !
Glad you are feeling better. Yum fresh salmon and halibut fish tacos. Doesn't seem like you can take a wrong turn in Alaska when it comes to the views. Thanks for another great video.
Thanks for another great video. Sorry you both were ill, glad you are feeling better. We love salmon too especially fresh. Be careful about feeding salmon to your dog it is fattier. My husband usually grills it outside. I thoroughly enjoy your hikes because I wouldn't be able to do them.
Sorry you got Covid and had to put a “delay” on the itinerary. You’re doing an excellent job of sharing the amazing scenery; we enjoy watching your posts together. I enjoy reading a lot of the other comments, too!
I met a couple from Homer while in Arizona! Newly retired snowbirds. Amazing people! I guess they had known Bob Wells from before hie nomad life began! I'm excited to see where they are from! 🎉
Beautiful video! My Aunt lives along the Sterling Highway near Cooper Landing overlooking Kenai Lake. I visited once when I was 8, but would love to go back. Glad you got to enjoy that part of the state!
Hello Adventurers😊😊😊, this was an AWESOME watch hiking those scenic trails. The views are absolutely amazing. Now, you guys still won't share those delicious fish tacos...not fair! I'm Looking forward to your next Alaska adventure where board a boat. I can't wait for that! OUTSTANDING VIDEO👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍!
Great videos! I just missed you in Hope. I’m on a 300 day trip in my Jeep and have been up in Alaska and Canada for about a month now. Heading back down to the lower 48 in a couple days. I left Massachusetts June 6 to help the homeless in 50 cities in North America. Keep up the great work!
Wow! I’d love to check out Hope on my next visit to Alaska! Glad you guys are on the mend. So glad I found your channel! I loved your NH videos… my home state! 🙌🏻
Well Guys, I must admit as a lifelong Anchorage resident, I thoroughly approve of your representation of the Kenai Peninsula. I love hope, I have been whitewater rafting down Six Mile more times than I can count. You guys must be exhausted at the end of a day - you really packed a lot into a short amount of time. Homer is so fun. Did you happen to go to The Salty Dawg? Our family has a cabin on Halibut Cove...so I am excited to see where your next adventure lands you. I must admit, I have never eaten salmon skin. How was it? And don't feel bad, I don't really like any salmon except fresh reds (sockeye salmon). We are a bit of salmon snobs up here. Currently the silvers, or Coho Salmon, are starting to run on the Kenai. You guys maybe should just move to Alaska, we would welcome you with open arms! Thanks for supporting out local tourism industry. Will you be back through Anchorage? If you ever need a free place to park overnight - or a warm shower - we live on a large one-acre property in Sand Lake Area, with plenty of safe and quiet parking where you can rest uninterrupted. I am sorry you got COVID, I am an ER RN at Providence in Anchorage, let not meet there ok? Take care of yourself and safe travels...wherever you may be!
Thank you Amy, that means a lot! We are definitely constantly exhausted, but so much to see and do! We did visit The Salty Dawg with some RVer friends a different day off camera, but as non-drinkers, it was more of just a "neat to see the dollar bills" stop for us. The salmon skin was really good! I love crispy skin on chicken, so it added the same type of feel for me. We definitely would love to live in Alaska if it wasn't so far from family, we have truly had the best time here. We appreciate the parking offer as well, Kathryn is flying out of Anchorage for a wedding this week, but I plan to hop back down to the Kenai Peninsula to fish while she is gone. And hopefully no ER visits for us!
I just found your Alaska travel vids! So much fun, information and enthusiasm! Thank you. I'm headed up there next month July 2023, with emphasis on Denali, Seward and Brooks Falls!!! It's my 2nd trip and I'm determined to do everything I missed last time. BTW, I love your Oakleys!!!!!!
@@AdventuresofAplusK Driving and living the experience is so much better than a cruise ship. You feel the experience rather than looking from a far away ship. Maybe the future will develop a portal to just walk through and be there like a Star Trek transporter.
I must say Skilak Lookout has been my favorite view so far this trip. I mean I gasped when you showed the initial view at 18:19! All of it was just awesome!!!! We watched this one twice! The wildflowers and eagle also amazing beauty! That mermaid in Homer was so cute! 😉. I love the museum with the audio interpretive. Green is my favorite color, so WOW to the Palmer Creek Lakes hike! 🐸 I'm laughing at Kathryn seeking refuge in the bathroom from the spiting salmon!😄 But the salmon lost it's fight 🎣 dinner looked delicious! Fresh fish tacos too yeah!!! Hope you two are back to feeling 100% from your Covid setback. So sorry you had that. Jim and I look forward to watching your videos to wherever y'all go! Be well my friends!
We were really happy we did that hike! Like we said it was our plan B, but maybe it should've been plan A. It was spectacular! We're glad you enjoyed this vlog! We had a lot of fun, as always, making it! We are back to 100% and all systems are a go! Thank you both for watching!
The skin has the highest concentration of omega-3s in the whole fish. Omega-3s are great for your skin, brain, heart, and eyes. Plus, your body can’t produce omega-3s. When cooking with the skin on it also helps keep other nutrients in the fish instead of losing it in the pan. Wild caught Pacific salmon is considered some of the least contained salmon so the skin should be safe to eat compared to other areas salmon are caught. I can understand that concern. Our Alaska trip has been a dream come true! Thanks and thanks for watching!
@@AdventuresofAplusK I do cook with the skin on but haven’t been able to bring myself to eat the skin. Maybe I will get brave sometime! I always try to get wild caught but I think most restaurants have farm fed.
I haven’t had a ton of salmon so I just thought everyone ate the skin 😂 I thought it was normal. I didn’t know that about which restaurants serve, but that doesn’t surprise me
Happy that you're recovered from Covid. Hope you were able to get a hotel or Airbnb to have more space while sick. Wow, you went to Palmer Lakes Trail. Many locals don't even know about that trail. Sorry that it was cloudy at Slaughter Ridge. The photos from the top are amazing. Looks like you too are having quite the adventure with your salmon, halibut, and hikes. If you thought that otter was cute, wait until you get to Seward. They have LOTS of them there. No idea how you've missed the mosquitoes but they are abundant and around. You've been very lucky! Happy travels!
We are fully recovered now thank you! We hunkered down in the van at a campground until our quarantine days were up! Palmer Lakes was amazing! I was bummed to miss out on Slaughter Ridge, but Skilak Lake made up for it! We saw tons of wildlife on our boat tour we took from Seward! Can't wait to share that video soon Ya we really haven't been bothered by the mosquitos some how!
Sorry that you got Covid! Thank you for another wonderful video highlighting you Alaskan adventure. The halibut tacos looked tasty. The same towns have so much character. Thanks again for sharing. Make me want to make the journey.😀😀😀😀😀
I do orbits a lot. I mostly do them free hand though. I don't use a lot of the features it offers. I want to try out the mastershots though sometime. I know it has tons of sensors all over it, I'm just nervous to let it just fly off without me controlling it!
@@AdventuresofAplusK yeah, with mastershots you just have to be in a big open area so it doesn't crash into anything. Any sideways motions can be dangerous because there are no side sensors.
Another part of Alaska I now want to visit - thanks for sharing! Those fish tacos looked scrumptious! Also, once you have super-fresh salmon like you made, it's incredibly hard to eat it any other way. I can still taste the grilled salmon from when I was there - caught, grilled, and eaten within an hour. BTW, love your drone shots! Even though it's probably not capturing the full experience of what you're seeing in person, it certainly helps us see the true majesty and splendor of Alaska - thanks again!!
Ya you can't beat the freshness of that salmon. It was so good. I have one more piece in the freezer. I'm curious how different it'll be. Still good I'm sure! This video was our new drone's debut! We love using the drone when we can! We love the perspective it gives also! Thank you!
Awesome video and gorgeous views!! The hikes were Beautiful and the water and seal was gorgeous. The fish tacos looked delicious.I love halibut.Im so enjoying the Alaska videos.Cant wait to the next videos.Im so sorry yall got covid but happy yall are better.Stay safe my friends...

Gorgeous place. Beautiful video 📸📸. HOPE your feeling Better 🙂😘. Safe travels
All good now! Thank you and thanks for watching!
Awesome! We hope you have a great time!
Kathryn has had the Oakleys for so long and still loves them!
At this point I literally look forward to the dancing scenes. 😂
Awesome video... what an experience in Alaska... many driving hours ... but worth the journey!
The hours fly by when the scenery is gorgeous everywhere you go!
@@AdventuresofAplusK Driving and living the experience is so much better than a cruise ship. You feel the experience rather than looking from a far away ship. Maybe the future will develop a portal to just walk through and be there like a Star Trek transporter.
Your videos are so uplifting. Great locations guys, lucky y'all
We are very very lucky! Thank you!
Wish you both recovery from Covid as soon as possible.
We're all good now! Thank you!
LOVE IT! Another awesome episode. So jealous.... want to be there too!
Thanks, Jamie!
Bring back many great memories of my 30 days adventure by land and water in Alaska Jun/Jul 2022
Thanks for watching, Hank!
Hi, just started following you guys, appreciate the videography, amazing destinations and also history / stories of the area. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you and thanks for watching!
Another awesome video! Thank you for sharing. Never made it to Hope or Homer during our time in AK. Was great to see it.
We're happy we can share! Thanks for watching!
I love salmon but I don’t eat the skin. What a wonderful adventure you are on. I love the beauty of the state. Thank you for sharing all the scenery.
Can't wait to share that video soon
Ya we really haven't been bothered by the mosquitos some how!
Sorry that you got Covid! Thank you for another wonderful video highlighting you Alaskan adventure. The halibut tacos looked tasty. The same towns have so much character. Thanks again for sharing. Make me want to make the journey.😀😀😀😀😀
We can highly recommend the journey! We hope you can!
Thank you! We are fully recovered now
There are some killer drone shots in this video! Must be so freaking fun to fly and film in such incredible spaces!
Thanks! This video was new drone’s debut! It is a ton of fun to fly! I get lost filming when I’m flying it!
@@AdventuresofAplusK looks very good! I could see you doing orbits. Maybe you’re using focus track? I love that feature!
Glad y’all are feeling better 🥳
Thank you!
