My wife and I are in our 70s hiking out of question. As with other person you do hiking for us. We drove Yukon and Alaska 7 times in last 8 years always love going back. Take care guys stay safe
We are almost to our 70’s and are planning a trip to Alaska this summer with a group so I am so happy to have found your videos to see what we can expect. I love the educational value and will be watching all your travel videos. Keep up the great work!
Y'all - I have watched other full-timers' Alaskan trips and yours has by far been the most entertaining, informative, well-rounded and exciting. Your video work and editing skills are superb. You hiked to areas that are physically impossible for me, but your videos made me feel like I was there. Hopefully, I will be retired in the next couple of years and Alaska will be at the top of my to-do list,. Your videos will definitely help point the way. Thank you, thank you, thank you for taking us along with you on this amazing adventure!
As an Alaskan that has been to the majority of places you mentioned I have to agree with you about the drive to Valdez. Thompson Pass, especially if you can catch it on one of the rare clear days is simply stunning. Glad you enjoyed our State and hope you visit again some day. Your videos remind me how truly lucky I am to live here.
That Kenai Fjords episode is just incredible. Both Icefield hike and boat tour were truly epic. Overall this Alaskan trip was fantastic and thanks for sharing with us
Thank you, Thank you. I graduated from college in 1977, threw all that I owned in an old jeep and drove the Alcan to Anchorage. I worked at Providence Hospital for a year and tried to explore the area as much as possible. I made it to alot of the places you visited, but your hikes and commentary really went above and beyond my experiences. I spent a week camping out on the end of the Homer spit, and I still think Homer Alaska is one of the most beautiful places in the world. Thanks again for the nostalgia.
Oh wow what a cool story! Thanks for sharing that! We had a blast in Alaska. It was everything and more we hoped it'd be. Thanks and thanks for watching!
live here (15 years) and only time I have seen Brown Bears was during salmon runs as they partake in the feasting and one time on the Glenn Highway near Anchorage. I am very bless I can say to live a short drive from Hatchers pass, on of my fav place to hike also. I hiked solo for so many years and luckily have not run into a bear.
@@AdventuresofAplusK - actually that was a wise decision. David Paulides Missing 411 / CanAm Midding Project on here stresses NEVER HIKE ALONE !!! Do not lose sight of your hiking buddy (buddies). Always carry an 'activated' PLB (Personal Locator Beacon) and a fire arm. Dave has recently advised an Air Horn too. - Air Horns can be more effective than Bear Spray and are also recommended by Gov't Agt Victor, frequent guest of Jeff Nadolny / Dogman & Paranormal Research
When you write your travel guides, I hope you include a list of the places you wanted to check out, but just did not have time for. Not reviews or anything, but more like when the end of a book has a “further reading” section. This was just a great series overall. Thank you for sharing!
Yes we are planning on adding spots we weren’t able to visit this time on our guides! There’s obviously still TONS we didn’t get to see Thank you and thanks for watching!
Are you guys going on an Alaska cruise soon? 🧐 Definitely staying tuned! You guys got us hooked! You guys are my favorite UA-cam content creators focused on travel, along with SUVRVing. Thank you so much for showing us Alaska and the quality of your work is top notch! Plus we love the quirky, family friendly fun! Keep up the great work! If you ever get to cold, Arizona is calling!!!
Thanks for all the work you put into these videos. I am looking forward to your Alaska travel guide. Your videos and travel guides have been a go to resource for our travel planning. The quality of your videography and detailed guides are top notch. We didn’t want to disturb you when we sat by you in that Boise ice cream shop recently, but I wish I had so I could let you know how much your work is appreciated. Keep up the great work!
Thank you so much for saying that! We're glad our videos and guides are helpful to you! That makes us feel good. If you see us again don't hesitate to say hello!
Happy belated birthday Katherine, I watched the whole series on TV in Spain and couldn’t comment as didn’t have the option. Once I returned to comment I forgot which episode you guys were celebrating it. Lol. All videos were just amazing and you guys are such great travel partners and Kona just adds another level….keep em coming 🙏 an Irish Canadian living in Spain! 👏👏👏👏
I really admire your dedication in perfecting each episode of your Alaska adventure. Really enjoy each of them. Thanks for sharing them with the world !
This was a great follow-up video to your Alaska Adventure. I followed the whole Alaska trip. This was a really nice overview. Looking forward to where you "take us" next. Bless you on your way.
June visiting is suggested in your video. Our experience in early June of 2008 was that there are no salmon anywhere, so there are no whales or other wildlife in the waters. June 15 was mentioned as about when the salmon arrive. We had one rainy day over two weeks and saw Denali everyday for a week. Great job on this and all of your videos.
Hey guys, thanks for your awesome videos of Alaska we watched all of them as you released them then again as we prepared for our 2024 season in Alaska, and tonight I rewatched this one as we are parked at a pull out on the Turnagain. We really appreciate all of your tips and information. BTW Starlink now works in Alaska 👍👏 We work full time 9-5 est job and must have good connection and we are thrilled that the coverage has been great. Our biggest challenge is finding a spot without Trees or mountains blocking GPS 😊 but we are in a 35' class A and have always found a good spot. I hope you guys have had a good respite and can really enjoy your travels you guys are really good and will be successful it just takes a lot of time. Take care
We're glad our videos are helpful! We have lots of content on Alaska on our website too! That is very nice that Starlink works up there now. That would have been helpful and it'll be great when we go up again in the few years. Thank you and thanks for watching!
We went in early June and took the boat tour to the glaciers from Seward and saw Humpback Whales it was amazing seeing their tails coming out of the water. Exit Glacier was a great hike too.
LOVED The Video !! As you can tell by my photo , i love it as much as both of you :) I have been here my whole life , but have been to every state in the U.S. twice , but Alaska is my home , and i share your adventure every summer , and LOVE meeting people from all over the world and SMILE !! Im very glad you guys had a GREAT trip and hope you make it back in the Future !! My main job has been construction , but i got into gold mining for gold 10 years ago , and now dredge under water on my claims as much as i can and make time to hunt and fish !! A cool trip as well is the Marine Highway from Seattle to Haines !! Ive made the trip 3 times and it never gets old !! And their are towns you can take your car off the boat and drive around as well !! :) Wish you both the best in Life & Love !!! XO From Alaska !!
Love this. My first of three summers in AK, I brought shorts and no rain gear. TG for Fred Meyer. I had to buy layers, rain gear, rain boots, etc. Though it was often warm enough for short sleeves many days, it rained almost every afternoon. A couple of times it snowed in July. I spent my summers about 40 miles east of Fairbanks and about the same north of Delta Junction, dropped off by a bush plane into the wilderness, though there were hunting cabins. I’ve always wanted to go back and explore, yes, the places you can drive to and then hike, backpack or just be a tourist. Am taking notes.
I’m a bit late watching your fantastic videos from Alaska. The mountains and fjords are very similar to those in western and northern Norway. We do have a mountain area that boasts a spectacular view of two lakes, green and blue, along the Besseggen day hike. It’s a highlight of that hike, in addition to a narrow pass everyone is nervous to climb - or descend. I’ll continue to watch your blogs, both old and new. It’ll take some time to catch up! 😁
Yes, although we’ve not been to Norway yet, we’ve noticed some similarities from photos! Norway is high on our list and will likely be part of our next European adventure! Thank you and thanks for watching!
I’m looking forward to your booklets. Did you have any trouble finding dump stations? You’re the sweetest couple. I’ve enjoyed so many of your travels. Thanks so much for sharing. I’ll miss Alaska , too!
Thanks! We won't be making a video on what we packed, but we do have tons of detailed guides for our entire Alaska trip on our website. Including a detailed packing list: adventuresofaplusk.com/the-ultimate-guide-to-visiting-alaska/ adventuresofaplusk.com/alaska-packing-list
Glad you had fun up here. The mosquito situation is location and season dependent. Lowland areas with mostly swamp/tundra/wetlands and no wind have horrid bugs. Higher elevations and rocky rivers are less of an issue since there is no breeding grounds.
We are finally caught up with your videos! We just watched this one last night. We really enjoyed Alaska with you; you did a wonderful job! I loved these "favorites" to help us plan a trip if we get to that point! I could tell the weather wasn't the greatest but your videos still captured the beauty of the area! Weather can be such a big issue; we had some smoke which put a damper on our trip but we still got good pictures and on our last day in Glacier NP, it was the clearest and that's when I really took a lot of pictures. When you plan and plan and spend money, the last thing you want is smoke covering up the mountains! LOL We were on our own 2 week trip to Montana and enjoyed doing our own wildlife count (even doing the high 5's!): 2 Bears; 3 Eagles; 2 Moose; 1 Fox; 1 Osprey; 1 Hoary Marmot; 1 Woodpecker that put a show on for us; 2 Turkeys; 2 Mtn goats; Partridges; Hawk; deer; chipmunks and squirrel! lol We did make it to the Garnet Ghost/Mining Town - it was fun to be able to go into some of the buildings. After MT, we got covid, so we're getting caught up on life! Keep up the great work; looking forward to watching the Dawson City video!
The weather was tough at times, but thankfully it worked in our favor when we really needed it to! The thing about the North is you have to be able to live with the rain and changing weather or you're going to have a miserable time. We were also thankful we didn't experience much wildfire smoke during our trip That's a solid wildlife count! Nice! Garnet Ghost Town is really neat! Bummer about Covid...we hope all is well!
I have been thoroughly enjoying all of your Alaskan road trip videos. I'm heading up to Anchorage for a few days, pre-cruise, and your videos have given me so many great hike ideas and places to visit. Your videos are great. Thank you for all your tips! What are you guys shooting these videos with? They are beautiful!
Loved your "best of Alaska," thank you. You two are special people and I am so happy to have stumbled upon your videos. They brought back so many wonderful memories. I hope someday I can go back with my three adult children, all born in Alaska, and see some of the places you have visited that are new to me. Keep smiling and doing what you love. Peg
That is so awesome! We're glad we could share our adventures for others to enjoy as well. We hope you can get back there soon! Thanks and thanks for watching!
Wow what’s trip. Thank you for bringing us along. It became must see viewing for us this summer watching your adventure. We loved it. Best compliment I can give is that we integrated places you stayed and visited into trips to San Diego, Palm Springs, Joshua Tree and Bend OR this year. We stumbled on the channel after your visit to our hometown of Tucson. You nailed it here and we were hooked. Can’t wait to see what’s next. As coffee aficionados any favorite Austin TX places from your past time there? We head into Austin this week.
Thank you so much! That means a lot to us! We’re glad we could share our adventures and those spots! We haven’t been to a ton, but the ones we have been to that we really like are Summer Moon, Mañana, Patika, Flat Track, Merit, Radio, Stouthaus
@@AdventuresofAplusK Love six recommendations and the 'haven't been to a ton comment'. You two were made for this line of work. Safe travels back to the states.
Great recap - just makes me want to watch all your Alaska videos AGAIN!! Same with us about the mosquitos. We bought and brought very stylish (not) head nets for our hikes, and never wore them once! Thanks again for sharing!
So fun I told you that drives through Thompson pass an into Valdez is absolutely epic. So glad you had such a wonderful time and it was fun seeing Alaska again through your eyes. Blessings
Wonderful video and the summaries are so informative! Great job, for reals; we watch you guys every week! Next time up there hit SE Alaska, some of the most beautiful scenery you will ever find is in Juneau, Mud Bay, Haines and Skagway! Oh and you need to go to Steve Kroschel’s Wildlife Preserve and watch him put a wolverine into a trance 😂
We're glad you enjoyed the videos! Stay tuned on our website for guides and itineraries (hopefully in the next few months) for everything we did in Alaska and Canada!
You were both my favorite part of this whole Alaska adventure. Your excitement throughout said it all. I enjoyed everything you shared & could not have chosen favorites as well as you both have. I hope you do get to go back one day.
It's been thoroughly enjoyable to watch your travels. Great sights, scenery, and travel tips; not to mention the positive energy the two of you project makes my day better.
Awesome! We just finished a massive guide to driving the Alaska Highway on our website. We are also currently writing lots of content for the rest of our time in Alaska that we'll be releasing over the next couple months! adventuresofaplusk.com/the-ultimate-guide-to-driving-the-alaska-highway
Thank you both. I have watched every video of your Alaskan trip. I'll never get to do this so I have lived through you. Looking forward to your next adventures
Thank you for a great tour of Alaska. We could hardly wait for each new video. We loved Valdez when we were there & wish you'd had a clear day there. Though we savored your whole trip, we especially loved your videos on Hope, Whittier, Kennecott, your hike to the red cabin, & the great summary video. Glad you had a good experience on the boat seeing the glaciers calve. We had high winds & a rainstorm the whole day. :( In your summary video, we both guessed at which ones you'd choose in each category, and bingo, we hit most of them. You two are amazing. You make it all fun! Can't wait for your (our) next adventures. PS You must have REALLY liked Alaska to make your logo "AK". HaHa.
We really enjoyed the small towns as well! I think they gave us the "true" Alaskan experience. That's funny that you guessed most of our picks correctly! Thank you so much for watching and for your very nice comment!
Ahhh, I forgot to say something... Men, you guys ROCK! hahahah. You backpack so much and still bring a dog? I struggle to carry just myself lol. I would love so much to do the hike up to that Epic little cabin, but I'm definitely not prepared to carry a tent and all that stuff yet. Camera and drone are already so heavy that sometimes I leave the water behind lol. I travel a lot too on a budget but I still have a lot to learn about backpacking like that =) I appreciate you guys, I know how hard it is sometimes, and wish you all the best! Thank you again for all the effort =)
This is great! There was so much I could comment on from my own trip, but when you were going through the camping spots, I started to realize we may have been very close to each other. I stayed at the Trail Lake Lodge in Moose Pass the nights of both July 4 and 5. The view of the lake at 6 in the morning with the sea plane sitting there was beautiful, peaceful, and very Alaskan. Seward books up on July 4, but Moose Pass is perfectly good for those of us that stay in hotels. Then on July 11, I was heading west after the Lion's Head Trail toward Palmer along the Glenn Highway when I spotted a van down by the river (I couldn't help it) that looked almost exactly like Brisket. If you were at the Matanuska River camping spot during the afternoon of 7/11, then perhaps I saw you. :) Thank you once again for all these videos! My big trip for next summer will be a PNW loop through Washington, Oregon, and Idaho, so I have a feeling you might be hitting some things on the way down that I'll be very interested in (just as you already have on the way up)!
Hey James! Sorry for the delayed response! We were at Trail Lake in Moose Pass on July 4th! But we were in Wasilla on July 11th recovering from Covid. But I wouldn’t be surprised if we did pass each other a couple times during your trip! If you need any help with things to do in the PNW check out our website and definitely send us an email as it gets closer and you know what areas you’ll be going to. We’ll help out in anyway we can! Thank you so much as always for commenting and watching!
No worries! In such a huge state like Alaska, it's funny we actually wound in the same town for one night. My big challenge with PNW is prioritizing; there is so much to see, and there is so much I've learned from watching your videos. The one specific question I'm researching is which two or three day hikes in North Cascades (or the surrounding area) are best. I know I'll be studying that. Thank you always for all the great work you do! Looking forward to what you find on the way back to Texas!
Thank you so much for this video, it's great and so helpful. I'm heading to Alaska in less than 2 weeks and am so excited to check out some of your recommendations 🎉
What a great way to end your Alaska adventures with a recap. Thank you for providing the most detailed vlogs on Alaska I enjoyed every video. I was hoping you guys would of made it to Katmai NP but totally understand how it is expensive to go as you need to fly there. Also those Burnt ends from Costco are AMAZING!! 😅 just had to comment on that.
Thanks, Leslie! We had a blast in Alaska and tried to pack in as much as we could! We are excited to get the guides and itineraries written in a few months as well for those that are planning on traveling to Alaska. We weren't able to make it to Katmai, but had a similar although mini version of Katmai on our way down. Stay tuned for that! Those burnt ends are pretty tasty!
Great series guys! I just got back from a solo van trip to Alaska and did a lot of the same things you did and boondocked in a lot of the same spots (I went Talkeetna-Valdez-ferry to Whittier-Cooper Landing-Seward-Portage Glacier area then tent camped at Brooks Camp in Katmai). You've given me some great ideas for things I missed for the next trip (already planning, of course!). I can STRONGLY recommend Katmai for your next trip (flights are expensive, but the campground is not, and the bears will blow your mind). Also, if you get back to Seward, the Northwestern Glacier was unbelievable, as was kayaking at Aialik Glacier (but tbh, the Northwestern Glacier was really out of this world - top 3 for me along with the Harding Icefield trail and, obviously, those Katmai 🐻😍). Also, since you both loved Valdez (me too) the ferry trip to Whittier is stunning and a cuts down on driving back. I really had other things planned for next summer, but now you've filled my head with ideas, so back to Alaska it is (plus I gotta go back to Katmai to see my bears). Keep up the great work - your channel is my favourite planning tool!
We really wanted to do Katmai, but just couldn't swing the price. We'll definitely bite the bullet on that one someday! The ferry ride to Valdez sounded awesome, but again it was the price...plus that drive is incredible. We definitely want to check out those glaciers you mentioned though and do more things on the water! Thank you so much for watching!
Thank you for this video content. I find this very useful information. I have been trying to get to Hatcher Pass for the past few weeks but got bronchitis and now the roads are closed for the winter because of the snow. I will definitely go next summer. I think I can still may go to the Lodge and have lunch or dinner though. 🍽
While we as viewers did not see everything as you did; I think everything we saw was the favorite; especially the ice cream; five stars for all the videos ❤😎😎😎😎🤩🤩🤩👍👍👌👌🥃🥃🥃
I agree…was hoping to see Skagway, Haines, Juneau, etc…maybe on their next trip! Southeastern Alaska is the most beautiful part of AK in my humble opinion:)
That’s what we’ve heard! Awesome! Would’ve come in real clutch for us last year. We’ve been using it for about the past month in the lower 48 and eastern Canada and we love it!
Great that you got to take such a long visit to experience so much of Alaska. I really enjoy watching your travels and especially this series. I have been blessed to visit Alaska but nothing like your trip. Afraid it will be hard for you to top this in the future lol. Stay safe and enjoy your experiences.
We are so thankful we had such a long time to be in Alaska. It was way more than we hoped it would be! It'll be hard to top, but we appreciate every place for what it is! Lots of fun stuff ahead! Thanks, Andy!
Thank you for taking us along with you on your trip to Alaska. Patty and I were in the planning stages of making the trip this year, however fuel prices kept us in the lower 48. We did get a chance to fly there in June and go fishing in Seward and climb Flattop Mountain. Alaska is an amazing place and we will be making that journey at some point in the future.
I live in Anchorage. My son’s go to every time at Wild Scoops is what he calls the S’mores. Chocolate, baked Alaska, and waffle cone. My go-to is the rhubarb crumble. I got your back, homie. I concur
@@AdventuresofAplusK The ice cream shop at the tourist trap gas station in Girdwood has icecream made from glacier. The pizza shop next door has a killer breakfast pizza.
The first hike is the advanced level for sure, but the end result is worth it! Hatcher Pass is in my back yard, it's right outside of Anchorage. There are parts of the Chugach Mountains that could be a national park. I have hiked to Glacier National Park and have noticed comparisons to the Chugach mountains. The vast mountains, valley and the snowy peaks are all here in your backyard. Just a short drive from Anchorage, Bear Valley is the gateway to these great vista views. Look down into the valley, towards Rabbit Lake with Suicide Peaks in the background. There are hidden hiking trails that follow the ridge-line up to get a grand view of these peaks. These trails are less traveled, no fee stations, just waiting for you to explore.
This was a weird season for mosquitoes. June was hotter and drier than usual and the rest of the summer was record breaking rain. I definitely noticed the difference, wore a lot less bug spray than usual.
Awesome experience. Without video, I forgot what I did Yesterday! Winter gives a different experience. You missed Fairbanks? Driving 3 hours to the Castner Ice Cave was one of my favorites. The cave is melting so might vanish in the future.
Great summary. I enjoyed every one of your videos from this series. The next time I go to Alaska I am going to try to include Valdez (and I am going to go fishing as well).
Hey Adam and Kathryn, I just want to say that I'm not a big UA-cam watcher, but you guys are amazing!!! There are SO many videos about Alaska that none are even close to this be this good! I watched the whole playlist and many of the videos I watched several times! You are very organized and the content is very very very helpful!!! Thank you for sharing your experiences in such a good format!!! I don't know If you will actually read this comment as you may have too many all the time but I want to share here that I am going to Alaska in 4 weeks and I'm so happy I found your videos!! Im so grateful, you have no idea =) Also, I have a question that I would love some help with, I'm bringing my drone, is it easy to find places to fly it there? Thank you very much! Be safe and happy!!
Wow! Thank you so much! We're glad you find our content helpful! We'd suggest also checking out our website for more helpful planning tips for visiting Alaska. We've been working really hard over the past few months to get those out and they can be even more detailed and helpful than our videos. There are lots of places to fly the drone in Alaska. I'd recommend downloading the OpenSky app. It tells you where you can and cannot fly in the US. Near airports and in National Parks are the major big no fly zones Hope that helps and thanks for watching!
Thank you for the video series. We are visiting in August and are going to use your advice and visit Denali, Seward and Glacier City (ice climbing). Any insider tips?
That's going to be awesome! We shared the best we've got in this video. If you've got any specific questions, feel free to send us an email! We also have tons of Alaska content on our website! Thanks for watching!
Glad you guys had such a wonderful trip and experiences in Alaska. Thanks for sharing these great travel videos. Very informative and love you travel guides. Safe travels back home to Texas.
I only can say thank you for all the effort you have put in prepare these videos. Very good summary and very well organized video. I love it. I hope one day I could hike the Gold Mint Trail to the Red Hut and Reed Lakes & Hatcher Pass In the meantime enjoying with your videos
I was going to be SO disappointed if you did not do "TOP 3 COFFEE PLACES".......you did!!! Thank You.......Loved everything else too......can't wait to see you next adventures......
Really enjoy your videos. We are planning a trip to Alaska and this is very helpful. We live in central California very close to kings and sequoia national park. A really good but hard hike in our area in the Rae Lakes loop. That’s be a really good one to film. It’s a little over 40 miles. Free boondocking at our place if you’re ever in our area. We live in a little town called Squaw valley in Fresno county California. Kevin volkov
Hi Kevin! That hike look awesome! We are about to start cranking out our Alaska guides on our website from our travels this past summer. Hopefully they'll help you plan your trip! Thanks and thanks for watching!
I am so happy y’all were able to meet your goal to drive up to Alaska! Thank you so much for taking us all along for the most breathtaking adventures❣️ You three showed us how epic Alaska is! I know you are bummed to have this adventure end (and so am I) but you both should be so proud of the way you represented this absolutely gorgeous state! Great video❣️ Safe travels as you continue your adventures❣️😘❤️❤️❤️🐶🥰
What a wonderful summary guys. Thanks to your videos, I'm anxiously looking forward to our trip next summer. Just trying to decide if we'll drive the Dalton Highway to the Artic; wife doesn't want to, especially if road is a very long washboard, but I'dl like to dip my toes in another ocean..
We highly recommend the Dempster. We didn't do the Dalton so we can't compare, but just from our research it seems there is more to do along the way on the Dempster and you have more freedom of getting in the ocean at the end of the road. Thank you so much for watching!
Definitely a trip we’d love to do! Thanks for taking us with you and for the info and tips! Looking forward to the guides/itineraries! Have you been to Iceland? We RVed the Ring Road last summer and I think you would both love it!!
That is my concern about an Alaska trips. If you think you didn't scratch the surface at an 'effective month' most people are going to be challenged with 1-2 weeks!. So I can see sticking with one area. I may be cruising up in May (1 week) and then a week inland. I feel like it's a trip of epic sacrifices😁 Also the fact we really enjoyed the Canadian Rockies so it had some competition haha - so I am hoping it inspires!!!
Thank you for your video. YOu two are awesome! Lovedyour videos. planning on a trip to AK at beginingof August(I know it is raning a lot from your video, but that is the only time we can go. Question: where are the best spot for tent camping? thank you! Looking forward to hear from you.

live here (15 years) and only time I have seen Brown Bears was during salmon runs as they partake in the feasting and one time on the Glenn Highway near Anchorage. I am very bless I can say to live a short drive from Hatchers pass, on of my fav place to hike also. I hiked solo for so many years and luckily have not run into a bear.
Wow! When Kathryn flew to Texas for a wedding and I stayed back in Alaska I was too nervous to go solo hiking!
I love your summary videos. It is really helpful for everyone planning to visit an area to get your detailed and extensive opinions.
We're glad they are helpful. Thanks for watching!
There’s obviously still TONS we didn’t get to see
Thank you and thanks for watching!
So sad to see this adventure end. The amount of work you put into this is incredible. Thank you for sharing with us. Safe travels.
We were bummed to leave as well! We're so happy we could share. Thank you and thanks for watching! Lots of fun stuff to come!
Kona is a gorgeous creature!
Thanks for your work to bring these adventures to us.
We're glad we could share! Thanks for watching!
Thank you for allowing me to see Alaska through your eyes. It was amazing!!!
Thank you so much!
No, we don't have any plans for an Alaskan cruise as of right now
I love all of your videos. Never a foul mood on your adventures. Excuse me now while I book some tickets so I can follow your footsteps.
Thank you so much!
I really admire your dedication in perfecting each episode of your Alaska adventure. Really enjoy each of them. Thanks for sharing them with the world !
Thank you so much and thanks for watching!
You know what's funny? I am missing Alaska, I have never been to Alaska :) I "Thank You" for taking me along :)
haha the feeling is contagious
I really enjoyed your Alaskan adventure. Looking forwarded to more videos, safe travels.
This was a great follow-up video to your Alaska Adventure. I followed the whole Alaska trip. This was a really nice overview. Looking forward to where you "take us" next. Bless you on your way.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks for taking us on your Akaska journey. Welll done you two!
By far this was the best tips video for Alaska. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks, Allan!
This channel has been one of my go to channels in youtube for travel ideas, itineraries and advice
That means a lot to us! Thanks for watching!
GREAT work !!!!GREAT Adventure!!!! Thank you very much for sharing your hard work and Fun !!! Thank you!!!!
Glad you enjoyed it! We're glad we could share for others to enjoy! Thanks for watching, Chris!
Taco King is a local favorite, I'm very glad you mentioned them! They are great!
Hey Wayne! We had such a special time in Alaska! We can't wait to come back! Thanks and thanks for watching!
The best tour guide - ever. Better than AAA, Chamber of Commerce you got beat. A&K Alaska should make you both an ambassador. 👏👊🏼
The inbox is open! 😂
Thank you!
Thank you for the taking us a long your amazing trip to Alaska. Love the dancing. Kona is sooo adorable.
Thanks, Yvette!
my friends and I are going to Alaska this summer! We’re so excited!
How inspiring!! And loved Kona’s yawn!! Also loved all the foliage colors! What an adventure!!
There were lots of dump stations. The state is pretty well equipped to handle RVs. Thanks and thanks for watching!
This is one of your BEST videos, so informative and helpful! Thank you for your hard work!!!
Glad it was helpful!
Loved your video! Can you do a more detailed video of what you packed/wore on your trip?
Thanks! We won't be making a video on what we packed, but we do have tons of detailed guides for our entire Alaska trip on our website. Including a detailed packing list:
adventuresofaplusk.com/the-ultimate-guide-to-visiting-alaska/
adventuresofaplusk.com/alaska-packing-list
Thank you for making such an informative video and breaking it down to the details!
We're glad it was helpful! We have tons more Alaska content on our website as well! adventuresofaplusk.com/alaska/
Glad you had fun up here. The mosquito situation is location and season dependent. Lowland areas with mostly swamp/tundra/wetlands and no wind have horrid bugs. Higher elevations and rocky rivers are less of an issue since there is no breeding grounds.
Agreed, the marshy areas + no wind = breeding ground for the big mosquitoes, but this year it wasn't as bad.
Good to know! Thanks!
Excellent information for all of us who have not been.
Excellent video yall! Covers every single aspect. This was very helpful. Much appreciated.
Glad you enjoyed it! We have tons of Alaska content on our website as well!
LOL
We were on our own 2 week trip to Montana and enjoyed doing our own wildlife count (even doing the high 5's!): 2 Bears; 3 Eagles; 2 Moose; 1 Fox; 1 Osprey; 1 Hoary Marmot; 1 Woodpecker that put a show on for us; 2 Turkeys; 2 Mtn goats; Partridges; Hawk; deer; chipmunks and squirrel! lol We did make it to the Garnet Ghost/Mining Town - it was fun to be able to go into some of the buildings.
We were also thankful we didn't experience much wildfire smoke during our trip
That's a solid wildlife count! Nice! Garnet Ghost Town is really neat! Bummer about Covid...we hope all is well!
Super helpful guys! Thanks! My favorite was the red hut area. The scenery was incredible! FYI, the fall colors here in Colorado are exploding!
Ya the red hut was hard to beat for me!
Awesome video! Thanks so much for this.❤
I have been thoroughly enjoying all of your Alaskan road trip videos. I'm heading up to Anchorage for a few days, pre-cruise, and your videos have given me so many great hike ideas and places to visit. Your videos are great. Thank you for all your tips! What are you guys shooting these videos with? They are beautiful!
That’s awesome! Thank you and thanks for watching!
We link to all of our gear in the description of the video!
Thank you so much for sharing this mother nature incredible, amazing views enjoying much to watch u guys stay safe god bless😘😍❤
Thanks again for sharing!
haha we have some nice head nets too, but never felt the need to wear them thankfully. Thanks for watching!
So fun I told you that drives through Thompson pass an into Valdez is absolutely epic. So glad you had such a wonderful time and it was fun seeing Alaska again through your eyes. Blessings
Yes that was an amazing drive! Thanks, Teri!
The inside passage is definitely on our list for a future trip! Thanks, Doug!
Thank you guys for sharing! Wrote most suggestions down for planning my 2023 trip! SO excited.
Wow, thank you! We had a blast out there and we will definitely be back to see more and repeat our favorites! Thank you for watching!
Thank you for all of the great information and tips. Hopefully we can get to Alaska ourselves one day. Thanks for sharing.
We hope you can too, Bob! Thanks for watching!
It's been thoroughly enjoyable to watch your travels.
Great sights, scenery, and travel tips; not to mention the positive energy the two of you project makes my day better.
Thank you, John!
So helpful! I’m excited to drive from Austin to Alaska this May/June. Really appreciate the tips!
We're glad we could share! Thanks for watching!
Thank you for doing this! I really enjoyed your trip, you inspired my husband and I to visit Alaska now. :)
That's awesome to hear! Y'all will love it!
Great information and tips! Love the summary of your amazing trip to Alaska! God bless and safe trip back home! ❤
Thanks so much!
I travel a lot too on a budget but I still have a lot to learn about backpacking like that =)
I appreciate you guys, I know how hard it is sometimes, and wish you all the best!
Thank you again for all the effort =)
haha yes it's a commitment and effort to bring all the gear for Kona on our backpacking trips, but so worth it!
Thank you for sharing this experience with us. The photography and your sharing the experiences is magnificent!! Such a fabulous experience. 🥰
Thank you so much!
Loved your AK adventures. We can’t recall…did you board Kona when you were out all day at Denali?
No, it was cool enough to leave her in the van.
Thanks and thanks for watching!
Awesome! We have lots of Alaska content on our website as well! We hope you have a great trip!
Great tips and fun to hear your favorite areas and things to do.
Thanks, Loey!
We hope you can get out there! It's a special spot!
While we as viewers did not see everything as you did; I think everything we saw was the favorite; especially the ice cream; five stars for all the videos ❤😎😎😎😎🤩🤩🤩👍👍👌👌🥃🥃🥃
Thanks, Charles!
Hopefully you guys can see the inside passage of Alaska in the future.
I agree…was hoping to see Skagway, Haines, Juneau, etc…maybe on their next trip! Southeastern Alaska is the most beautiful part of AK in my humble opinion:)
It's on our bucket list! Just didn't have time for it this trip
Starlink now works in Alaska; used it July 4th, 2023 all the way to Deadhorse and across BC.
The fuel prices were steep the entire way that's for sure! That's great that you were able to fly there though. Any way you can get there is awesome!
I live in Anchorage. My son’s go to every time at Wild Scoops is what he calls the S’mores. Chocolate, baked Alaska, and waffle cone. My go-to is the rhubarb crumble. I got your back, homie. I concur
Oooooh buddy, you can’t go wrong with either of those!
@@AdventuresofAplusK The ice cream shop at the tourist trap gas station in Girdwood has icecream made from glacier. The pizza shop next door has a killer breakfast pizza.
Thanks for the tips! We can’t wait to get back up there!
We loved your entire journey!!!! So thankful for you two!
Thank you and thanks for watching!
Looking forward to your Alaska guide! We hope to go next year!
We're excited to share it! Thanks, Connie!
We can’t wait to come back and see more! Thanks for the tips and thanks for watching!
This was a weird season for mosquitoes. June was hotter and drier than usual and the rest of the summer was record breaking rain. I definitely noticed the difference, wore a lot less bug spray than usual.
Same, it was less buggy than usual.
We hardly felt the need for bug spray. That was nice!
Awesome experience. Without video, I forgot what I did Yesterday!
Winter gives a different experience.
You missed Fairbanks? Driving 3 hours to the Castner Ice Cave was one of my favorites. The cave is melting so might vanish in the future.
I noticed that also but there really is not that much to see up that way. The Cave is really the only unique thing up that way.
With getting Covid we just ran out of time
Great summary. I enjoyed every one of your videos from this series. The next time I go to Alaska I am going to try to include Valdez (and I am going to go fishing as well).
Awesome! Thank you! I would have loved to gone fishing there as well. Next time!
We love the rain!
Our tentative plans are to rv Alaska summer of 2024. We'll be on the look out for your guides and itineraries..Happy Trails 🐕
Awesome! Thanks, Michael!
Near airports and in National Parks are the major big no fly zones
Hope that helps and thanks for watching!
I will definitely check it out! Thank you so much!!! ❤️
Thank you so much and thanks for watching!
I only can say thank you for all the effort you have put in prepare these videos. Very good summary and very well organized video. I love it.
I hope one day I could hike the Gold Mint Trail to the Red Hut and Reed Lakes & Hatcher Pass
In the meantime enjoying with your videos
Thank you so much, Javier!
Thank you for sharing you wonderful trip. 🎉
I just subscriber to your channel. I’m glad to enjoyed my home state.
Thanks and thanks for watching!
I was going to be SO disappointed if you did not do "TOP 3 COFFEE PLACES".......you did!!! Thank You.......Loved everything else too......can't wait to see you next adventures......
That is a must category! 😂
Moose’s Tooth pizza is awesome!

Hi Kevin! That hike look awesome!
We are about to start cranking out our Alaska guides on our website from our travels this past summer. Hopefully they'll help you plan your trip! Thanks and thanks for watching!
Amazing information & video! Thank you!!
Thank you!
P.S. I loved Kona’s input about Alaska and her cute little face in the towel as you dried her off❣️
It was a dream of an adventure! It was everything we hoped it’d be and more!
Thank you very much for all your beautifull pictures, movies and story's. Very usefull. Marianne
Thank you and thanks for watching, Marianne!
Definitely a trip we’d love to do! Thanks for taking us with you and for the info and tips! Looking forward to the guides/itineraries! Have you been to Iceland? We RVed the Ring Road last summer and I think you would both love it!!
We're glad we could share our adventures! Thanks for watching!
We have not been to Iceland yet, but it's high on our bucket list!
That is my concern about an Alaska trips. If you think you didn't scratch the surface at an 'effective month' most people are going to be challenged with 1-2 weeks!.
So I can see sticking with one area.
I may be cruising up in May (1 week) and then a week inland. I feel like it's a trip of epic sacrifices😁
Also the fact we really enjoyed the Canadian Rockies so it had some competition haha - so I am hoping it inspires!!!
Thank you for your video. YOu two are awesome! Lovedyour videos. planning on a trip to AK at beginingof August(I know it is raning a lot from your video, but that is the only time we can go. Question: where are the best spot for tent camping? thank you! Looking forward to hear from you.
Thank you so much and thanks for watching! I'd check out Campendium and iOverlander!
