Follow me Nerds, as I show you how I built this mudroom floating bench with secret storage. These drawers slide up into the bench completely out of sight! This is one of my favorite builds so far as it looks really nice and is very functionable. Keep an eye out for the next videos to come in the series containing additional features and how I put up the board and batten / wainscotting so keep an eye out for those videos!
Wood and Cuts:
1 Sheet - Maple Plywood (Top and Face): 3/4" (You'll have to measure and cut for your space)
1 Sheet 5 mm plywood (drawer bottoms): (You'll have to measure and cut for your space)
5 - 1x4 pine boards (Drawer swing arms, as well as drawer frame): (You'll have to measure and cut for your space)
3 - 2x4 pine boards (Main frame): (You'll have to measure and cut for your space)

Those drawers are so sweet but I would always want to show them off! Suppose I could use them for some not so secret items sunscreen, bug spray, gloves and all the little things that are usually in my mudroom laying around

Thank you for the video. I am in the process of redoing my pantry and want to use drawers for some of the space. I am planning on, thanks to your video, being able to pull them out so that I can see everything in the draw as well as restocking from the back so we have we don't end up finding expired food every year.
Hey! Glad it was helpful! I great idea for food storage! I would anticipate the need for a lock/latch to hold anything of decent weight though! Good build! Also, I think that the instinct to show off the hidden storage spot is always going to be stronger than the desire to have a totally secret storage spot... I've done the same on a similar spots I've built into my house for firearms and sensitive documents. Haha
