Get out the cutting wheel or plasma cutter and whack those quad-shock brackets. They're worthless and just get in the way. FYI, there are some renowned road course chassis shops who have been racing Fox-bodies for decades and don't weld the tubes to the center housing. Thanks for posting.
100% needs welded. Thanks for the input tho!
decades of doing it wrong lol
Great video! Excellent information!
Great video man, torque box reinforcements came today thanks again boss 👍 and the surprise was awesome I have the perfect place for it!
Hell ya man!
Just recently done this to my 8.8, swamped gears and did a rebuild, had to replace 1 axle. Now I need to do c-clip eliminaters
Awesome, I almost have all my parts to build my 8.8 for 84 gt 350. Thanks for the motivation!!
Thaks Bro
Man I can't wait to see the Dyno video
Just dropped 3:73's into the 8.8 in my E-150. It's definitely a little job but well worth it. Whatever your driving you got hotrod that mofo!
Great video man. Good info.
Appreciate it!
Let's go I believe it's an 85 svo rear brakes brakes for the rotors
Ya or 10.25” cobras?
Speaking of that red coupe. BREW2L has the Poop Coupe, Foxcast has the Crotch Notch. I say you should call it the Junk Trunk.
Good video. Did you ever dyno the car yet
We did. Had issues. Gonna post video anyways
Thanks, for making it look simple.
Just a basic intro of what we used for a temp axle.
Love it 👍
Thank you! Cheers!
Very nice, a straight rear end housing should serve you well, what gears are you running?
I need to do this on my car has a nice growl coming from the rear.
For sure thats gears.
Waiting for dyno video.. seems like years Waiting!!!
Because there’s been issues man …
So which axles did you use? Which would you recommend for a sub-500 rwhp car? Is 31-spline a must? Thanks in advance.
Yes 31 spline past 350 - 400
I know LMR sells the rear drums however what drum do you use.
Ranger ones from the parts store. Same 9” drum 83-92
great content, question i found an 02 ranger 8.8 with 410 gear 31 spline diff and Lock, I can use this in my fox rear end correct?
Diff I do believe. The axles no. They are probably same as explorer axles and are too big
Have any thoughts on cut down aluminum explorer 8.8 covers on mustangs?
Excellent budget mod. Im going to try that one
Hey Dan, how tight do you set the backlash on stick shift car?
10
what upgrades were done to this rear end?
gears, rebuild diff and modified tubes... its in the video...
@@Neomustangs ok yeah the title confused me that those upgrades were what made it handle 400 hp, good video. Currently rebuilding my rear end as well.
Can you share where together the information on the sn-95 rear disc brakes install?
Ill just do it on the channel with a mock up axle. Its pretty easy but does take some know how.
@@Neomustangs thank you sir
Do you build any 8.8s for 600-800+ hp or do you go 9” at that point?
We will be doing that exact video when axle is fixed
@@Neomustangs - I'll be watching for it!
Wait, no more EEEEEEEEE? 😂
Im not believing that axle you just built will only hold up to 400hp … maybe 400 hp for years to come but id say it would last a season or two with alot more hp depending on if the car launched violent or if it launched smooth n easy off the line then made alot more of hp after it was rolling (30-50mph) say 1000 or more hp ..
Feel free to correct me if im wrong its not a debate just a conversation .. thats how we learn !!!!
The whole purpose of the video was just a show a budget minded, 8.8 rebuild with upgrade shown to those that may not understand it. I have no doubts. It would probably hold more power. I only put a number on there to help relate.
@@Neomustangs you done a fine job !!!
