- Here's Kuri's take on Amy for Soul Calibur 6! I actually wanted to make the guide much longer, but I can always make additional videos. This character simply has way too much stuff to cover! I love how the maxed out perception moves are bassically viola moves further hinting that they are the same people
Amy saying "Time for bed" on CE did make me wonder about this, i was almost surprised when she didn't follow it up with "Now sleep forever!"
@@so0meone well "Sleep eternally" is kinda like saying sleep forever :) I noticed in this game, characters would make reference quotes without directly mimicking the og quote

Amy has lots more tools compare to Sophie!! Her i10s is strong with good low mix ups. Once she gets her roses she is so strong!!!
I think I will study her hard for Sophie punish though, without actually maiming her. Still waiting for Cassandra.
When the Amy is playing safe, it is very hard to punish with sophitia :( I tried so hard to guess when 4AA is going to come out, but it wasn't happening lol!

The funny thing about upgrade characters, are that the upgrades have easily hinderable conditions. There is a chance you will never activate either perception with a smart player... And I thought NIGHTMARE was high risk, high reward, lol
Definitely be prepared for the scenario where this guide could possibly be useless, and you'll have to resort to basics.
Easily one of the best guides out there.
On another note, could you share the input for the unblockable attack at around 14:03? I can't seem to perform that one
Sure! Its mid aGI (B+K), aB. If you do aA, it does two horizontal slashes, and if you hold that last A, you transition into high aGI. aK does the slash into kicks, which seems very safe on block iirc (prob only -2~4? Have to test.).
I'll try to gather all my notes to make part two video, which will cover B&B combos, stance useage, and frame traps!

For someone who's new at this game this looks insane. Especially since I don't really even remember what letters are which buttons. Wow.
It'll be ok, just take one step at a time! Get use to what buttons does what so you are not guessing which moves will come out, and then go with a simple gameplan, like doing AA or 3A for people who step, BB and 3B for people who duck, and 4A or 1B for your low. Supplement that with throws and experimentation, and you'll know everything before you know it!

do you have any advice on how to time a perfect 6BBB?
The problem is the rose set ups.
This character seems to have a strange belance between damage and difficulty. I mean a soul charge extended combo with many hits only deals 84 taking a lot of time. Other characters can deal more than 100 pressing 2 buttons... I don't think that this character is more versatile or more funny compared to others.
Its the speed, utility and the many ways she can get damage I think. So many combo starters are just plain fast or completely safe, or it is out of a 33/33/33 mixup. I'm not even using things
Like command throws and agi traps yet.

Wait so once you max the rose stacks you don't have to restack them everytime you attack or combo with them?They stay there?
yeah. but white rose gives lethal hits off aGIs as a one use move, the rest stay there all during the fight.

Yeah, that's why it's good to stack them asap early in the rounds, so you'll have them for the rest of the match.
@@kurikurikoch I see.Im mostly asking for countering her.I kinda do wanna pick her up and play her on my own but im not sure if it's a good choice because there's not as many people in game anymore and mk11 is coming soon.

no, but you can make your own outfit in sc6! :) dress her however you like!

The items I used can be found in this customs video, the third outfit. I think it requires atlease dlc pack 1, possibly like tira's skirt.
This site has all the items listed for each dlc, just in japanese though but you can click until you find it.

@@kurikurikoch ok, another stupid n00b question... I see some of the colors are like “4, 13, 4” and other are say “0, 12, 7”. How do you change the third number from 4 to 7? Apparently I’m not smart enough to figure it out. 😟
Great guide! One question though: is Bella Donna still a super abuseable combo ender/fake out? Remember that one combo she had in 4? (can't remember the move names or their buttons, so bear with me) Where you send 'em up, slide under them on the way down, backflip back to their front and then kick them aside? I found that you could keep that combo going by sliding back at them right before/as they get up, backflipping again, and then finishing them off with that one annoying spam-stab move. For some reason people never clued into that combo and I constantly got away with it because I hit them with the kick and they think "oh the combo's done" and then I go in for more. Does that work with her new mechanics at all?

@@kurikurikoch erm, I can't seem to find how to copy links on mobile UA-cam, so I'll give you some info and hope that helps. Look for an Amy combo video by syxx573 at the 1:18 mark. If you can't find it, then I'll provide a link once I can get back onto a computer.
@@NEETKitten I see it now, the launcher that puts them in the air and behind her, then she backflips them onto the ground, and then follow up with the kick pickup? it is still do-able in SC6, but the ender is replaced in favor of rose related moves. That SC4 combos doesn't re-pick up if they know where to ukemi/staydown/block after the first rep, but it's still useful in sc6 when near a wall or ring's edge since you can RO or get extra damage and still get roses followups. Check out my newest uploaded few match videos of Amy for examples if you have time!

So you can just press a button in training to max out preception?
Yep. A+K, 6A+K, 4A+K for all the red, white, or purple. Good for training those combos!

Great guide. Now be honest, is she too strong? to me it looks like she has EVERYTHING a character could want, crazy mixups, fast moves, long range moves, throwgame, huge combo damage, i dont see ANY real weaknesses in her, like nightmare's slowness "fastest move is i14 and not very good, or ivy that is weak up close compared to other chars
relatively low damage without roses, weak ring out game and mediocre wall combos, and she is honestly not impressive until she gets either RRP or WRP (or both), especially since she sacrifices a damage for roses already. If she does manage to snowball you, though, the pros she gains more than outweigh the cons sooo. Most people consider her average/strong-ish for now, time will tell I guess.
I really mean it when I say her overall damage is lacking and you need to get those rose attacks up, like its BABY DAMAGE WITHOUT lol. But the extensions are great, I would say she's low tier at the start of the match, to high mid with roses.
Mid range tracking will always be an issue tho.

It's ridiculous, and same goes for 2B...
When i play online and i'm up against such a cheat, i simply put the pad down, make coffe, and wait for the next fight.
In high level play her damage is really terrible. Sure, after roses you get the damage back, but really you lose out on -8- launchers worth of damage and much more on exchanges compared to other characters who just have to hit normally. It's like basically playing on a handicapped 50% mode for 2/3s rounds just to -maybe- have a chance to get 110% mode for one round. Esp vs really good players where launchers are practically rare to land in the first place.

So outside of the tech traps and gimmicks, this guide was completely useless. You didn't explain anything about the Rose Perception mechanic outside of what is blatantly put in the combat lessons. I don 't know why you published this content without going deeper and offering knowledgeable suggestions. You don't even give tips on how to use the roses in neutral, oki, wall, or other setups. What about the frames of the actual roses?? Pros? Cons? C'mon man...I think you should scrap this and release another video when you have done better research.
Hold up... I get the intense feeling that you are very used to fighting games. For you, it may seem like a subpar guide, but for the average person such as myself, the video does a wonderful job.
His (I will assume the male pronoun for Kuri) explanation of the Rose Perception guide is made much more interesting in video format, along with the fact that he visually shows what each one is doing/what moves/abilities each one grants (Along with the soul charge variants as well, all of which is fairly overwhelming when just looking @ the movelist).
His suggestions, imho, are quite knowledgeable, cause he saved me the time of having to try figuring out each of those combos, as well as showing, with said combos, how to stack the Rose perception bits with normal moves. He also does show lots of cool wall and regular combos that showcase the benefits of having each perception maxed.
You may request another video *POLITELY* asking to go more in-depth about the things you wish to see, but I think it's a bit much to call it unresearched or say it should be scrapped simply because it doesn't match your views on what the guide should have. It definitely had everything I was looking for, lol.
