Hi Claire, I used to paint ceramics and it was cool to create this same look. I simply painted my piece black, and then dry brushed silver or antique silver on top. The effects are so similar and I think it looks like pewter! Love the metallic shine you get with this product!
Loving the stone look to this, very sleek and minimalist especially coming straight from the botanical trays lol! This is a really nice sleek look would be perfect for a mens gift too to put their watches on.

I love the minimalist industrial look. It would go great with plaster or concrete molds. I’ve seen videos with mixed results or polishing. I think people expect a mirror finish.
This is definitely on my wish list, Aram showed me this in action and they really do feel as though they're metal don't they? Fab product and vid as always.
Very cool Claire 🤩 I’ve been debating on getting some aluminum powder. Playing with the iron filings is so fun with a magnet but I’ve not tried this. Love the shell looking piece too. Thanks for sharing 🌹🌹
It's really similar, you dust the aluminium powder into the mould then also add some to the OH resin. 40 mins later demould and buff up with grade 0000 wire wool. Looks stunning on the torso moulds of men and women!
Just a hint if using wire wool. My Dad was a woodworker and he used it as part of his finishing process. He stressed to me that if using wire wool you must clean every tiny bit of it that may be on your piece because if you use a water based sealer or paint those bits can rust and mark up your finish later.
Almost forgot to ask… After you buff/shine it, do you need to seal it with anything else or is it ready to use? Also, is it waterproof and food safe? Sorry so many questions 😳

Heyyyy Ahmad ... it is a coating medium. Designed to coat the mould not the other way around... but that would definitely give a rough textured finish doing it that way if its possible.
I HATE the 'steel wool' scrub pads too. They are awful. The kind we have here can come off in your fingers if you aren't careful! (I like your flowers much better) not a fan of this. I do look forward to seeing what you do with this further though. Thank you, Claire😘

I hate auto text ...polyurethane resin (PU)
You can add metal powder as well, the steel wool files the particles together.

No resin is safe to put food in over and over, non toxic is relative.
You can add aluminium casting powder to your casting compounds for the same effects
I’ve done the powder with PU resin, came out great, I buy it local to me xx

I also hate the feel of steel wool. I wonder if a brass or steel brush would work. Then you wouldn’t have to touch it. Your tray turned out beautiful.
