Led Zeppelin formed in 1968 and went on to become one of the most influential, innovative, and successful groups in modern music, having sold more than 300 million albums worldwide. The band rose from the ashes of The Yardbirds, when Jimmy Page brought in John Bonham, John Paul Jones, and Robert Plant to tour as The New Yardbirds. In 1969, Led Zeppelin released its self-titled debut which was produced by Page, as were all the subsequent albums. saw them on that tour in Charlotte- standing 3 rows back from the stage- remember that Plant's mic went out for a minute or so, and he kept singing- could still hear him in the whole coliseum- and later when Jimmy whipped out that violin bow and started playing a solo- jaw dropping

To all the critics who say that Jimmy Page was "sloppy", the fact is that he was loose. How else could a human being play these most incredible songs live? Led Zeppelin rocks. So glad that America realized this and brought them to fame. Saw their last US show in Oakland. Simply an amazing band. Rock of ages.
