From the name of the skills, the gymnast they're named after, the difficulty of each element, the code of points,... anything that helps understanding gymnastics.

Komova's arabian is very heartbreaking
Why?
U mean breathtaking?
It breaks your heart that nobody lands a breathtaking Arabian, so lightly and with her chest upright, like Komova.
Dos Santos, Mustafina and Maroney improved over time despite being significantly older!
As well as Shushunova
Shushunova was jaw-droppingly incredible and epic
Her acrobatics were explosive. You should check out the video tribute I made about her career and you will she the amazing skills she was already doing in 1982!
Komova's arabian in combination was jaw dropping and gorgeous.
I never liked her attitude but damn was she a great gymnast.
Too bad she didn't give herself enough time to get there with her comeback. As she got older I actually started to enjoy her a lot more. It would've been lovely to see what she could do as a more mature gymnast. I guess not everybody has enough drive to make an Aly Raisman comeback.
It was such a shame that she didn't continue training!
@@Gymnastly She hasn't fully given up 100%. She just told Russian media she will make a final decision about her comeback either at the Russian Cup or Voronin Cup, I can't exactly remember which one.
I read about it a couple of days ago. I really really hope that she decides to continue. 🤞

Yes it was her unique knee handspring.
She did it during the Olympics also.
It was not a mistake, it was back when gymnastics was innovative.
She was known for her originality, after all.

Most gymnasts end long careers with easier routines. Some end them with consistent difficulty. Then there will be people like Simone... I wonder how she'll end her reign

Vaulting is easier as you get more mass and tumbling, especially on a beam, is harder as you lose that low center of gravity.

Are you sure that Dos Santos vid is from 1998? If so, she had only been DOING gymnastics for 3 years at that point. Insane talent and work.
Bryce L and within four years she became a South American champion and medaled in the PanAm games 😅

No, and may her career last a long time. This was a video request and Aliya was one of the gymnasts they asked for, that's why she's in the video.

Viktoria Komova grew too tall and had the body of a regular fit woman that it made it more difficult for her to do the routines she previously could do with her eyes closed unlike Khorkina who was very thin and light thus the long career despite her height. Sad but c’est la vie.
I still think that in 2018 she could still throw a decente Arabian, actually, better than most.
Honestly it wouldn't have mattered that much if she gave some time to herself and figured it out ..I Emma her case was just like Kyla Ross ..and she did still pretty gud back till 2014 but later she transferred to college because of elite pressure
Vika is still tall and lean, look at Aliya nailing her routines after literally carrying a child for 9 months and returning to the world championships one year after giving birth (and winning an AA world cup medal)

Man but she sucks at the pak salto she comes in way too much and can't continue with another skill she Has to Break.
Interesting as all these gymnastics vids all are (and they are), the soundtracks just suck @$$.
