This is in the top channels on UA-cam. Classy, educational, great humor! When John says “you should learn something from these videos” we agree! Thank you! No vulgarity or topics unable to share with kids!
These live streaming video's really scratch that Japanese itch! I watched all of your videos before I visited and they were such a huge help. Now that I am home from my trip, your videos help me re-live my great memories of my trip. You are very lucky to live in such a great country! Thanks for the great videos!
Me too!!!! We should organize a group from John's platform to travel to John's area for next yr! Let me know if anyone is genuinely interested in organizing a trip to visit with John! 🌏🇺🇸
John this stream was the very first time I watched a live stream of Only in Japan. it was all new to me at 68 now almost 4 years later will turn 72 the same day as Leo celebrates his birthday on March 14th 2023 looking back is really amazing being the very first time I watched a You Tube live stream and was Only in Japan live
Love all your streams but the night tours are special. I will be there in one week so I am starting to get excited. I will be staying near Tokyo station so will definitely replicate this walk one night. Mark. Hobart, Tasmania.
I just found this channel, I really ❤️ it. feels like I’m there in japan watching these videos. Been to japan 5 times already and I’m thinking of coming back again ~ from central california
We’ve been there 6 years ago, I can’t remember the Chinese resto we went, but I can’t forget how delicious the food we ate there. I wish I had the picture so I can recommend it to many travellers
Jim Hahn Jim, YES!!! That still happens!! I should do a live stream up there before the retire for the summer. There are A LOT MORE now than back then but some ask for one price for sets menus. The food though is never really good but the beer - is cold 🍺
been to Japan twice in the recently .. This brings back memories .. In the Gion district of Kyoto i wandered into on of those old time bar/restaurants with an ancient matriarch at the helm and enjoyed myself thoroughly ..
Hey Jon, I enjoyed your shows. Saw a couple of Tokyo eye episodes. The last 3 times I stayed in Tokyo was in Shimbashi. Thanks for all the tips. I’m from Hawaii and go japan quite often. Keep the video coming. Thank you Aloha. Jared
Literally my favorite youtuber/content creator: Topics Yakuza, non Japanese asians in Japan, major game company visit, blue mountain coffee, blue collar industry for foreigners in Japan any would be awesome. Oh, North to southernest point bike and side kart with PVG!
I would love to c the menu of McDonlds just to c whats different to ours. I like Shinbashi. Love the night run...To eat outside is nice. Like to c John eating at a restaurant one day in one of those cosy lanes seated. Day or night..
they never get old noticed this stream said 3 years ago when it streamed originally where actually it's like a time capsule on how much things have changed or have stayed the same, it's great to see how different it may be after 3 years.
Aloha John! Is there anything to do in Ryogoku during the Sumo Tournament? I'll be there next week and just wondering what we will do in the evening. Do we have to go elsewhere or is there any night life or similar izakayas or ramen shops in Ryogoku? Thanks and really enjoy your channels! I'm a friend of PhotoLuke...just letting you know in case I get extra points for that! Lol! Kanpai, mahalo! C*
chris w aloha! Ryogoku to me is more of a suburban town where a lot of people live but not far away in Okachimachi and Ueno, it’s pretty vibrant at night on the street. There are some nice places to go out in Ryogoku too. Ah, Photoluke :) got to Met Austin last time. He’ll probably be a lot bigger when we meet again!
@@onlyinjapanGO Mahalo, thanks, John! We will definitely be checking out the neighboring towns. I LOVE Asakusa! And yes, Austin is sprouting like a weed! I believe they will be in Japan soon, but not sure where. We are all addicted to Japan! It's a good thing =*) Much love & aloha, C*
Hey John glad you see you! I've heard in another channel that the birth rate in Japan is dropping drastically to 580,000 per year, and the rural villages are dying that's really sad, I hope someday I travel there and met people, best wishes on your next trip! We love you! 💞
This was an awesome stream! Had been waiting for it. Although u didn't have enough snacks, hope u ate something off camera or at home with Kanae ofc ^^~ Looking forward for more John 😄
Hey John, I love these midnight snack runs. Also that bicycle thing by the rent a cop. Very interesting. Never seen anything like that. It seems like Tokyo is way ahead into the future and the States is just lagging behind. LMAO. Anyway always good to see you. Take care from Bethlehem Pa.
I unpacked my travel wallet when I got home from Japan and found a 10,000 yen note in a hidden part of it! All those extra conbini egg sando’s I could have bought! 😭
Can you please tell me where exactly is this place? Or Shimbashi is the name of the whole area? I am visiting Tokyo next year for the first time. Cheers!
Hi John, You mentioned BABYMETAL in your live stream. They are due to start their US tour on September 4th. Make sure you go to see them when they return to Japan as they’re awesome!!
Yay I was the 1000th like and it was well deserved I'm sorry I missed it live but my phonedoesn't like notifying me lately hopefully I'll catch the next one keep up the good work
I've been a fan for 4 years, so as any other fans, I'd like to take a picture, and maybe a small talk, asking when will he do meet up for Tokyo fans. (Of course I'll do it before/after he finished his live streaming).
@@onlyinjapanGO ah ok so 3 different ways intresting. And i get , the gotta go fast mentality here you sometimes have to wait 10 minutes pretty anoying . Cheers
Japan is so beautiful. It reminds me of Germany when I was stationed there. It was a culture shock to see people peeing in public at night in Frankfurt. The trains in Germany were really expensive as well.
lifesamitch it really - sometimes but when viewers point something out, I rewatch bits :) I can only imagine what’s going on BEHIND ME! I catch some of it from comments in the live chat 😂
I would love to see you in kamata or omori, where I'm familiar with. Only problem is that you would be running for that last Keihin tohoku or Keihin kyuko train back to central tokyo.
Sometimes mistakes are made in live streams - it’s known as “new bridge” and if you watch the LIVE CHAT, you can see people clearing up the mis-spoken word.

This channel is seriously underrated. Best thing to watch when I have insomnia!
Tokyo at night is like a science fiction video game/movie. Like going to the future.
Not really.
I soooooo wanna do this! It’s like stepping back in time! I love how Japan keeps its history alive. Love it.
Excellent japan blog. Very enjoyable

Fun live stream! Gotta check out Shinbashi on a Friday night! How is Azabu juban at night?
Great idea! You need to raise the bar. You did it! Now I’m more interested in your go vids. And you have more respect from many, many people! T y!
Was your bike still there?
So much food to eat at night
Shinbashi looks so interesting in the night. I wish I could drink some beer and eat good food with my friends there. 😍
I love shinbashi. We stayed nearby at Hamamatsucho. Went to Ichiran there. There’s lots of seedy guys trying to get you into their nightclub brothels!
Not as seedy as Kabukicho, Shinjuku or Roppongi ;) but they’re harmless.

Is this more of an older part of Tokyo? Has a 70s vibe to me.
