- Wonderful One - Jimmy Page & Robert Plant HD [No Quarter 1994]
No Quarter is a live album by Page and Plant, both formerly of English rock band Led Zeppelin. It was released by Atlantic Records on 14 October 1994. The long awaited reunion between Jimmy Page and Robert Plant occurred on a 90 minute "UnLedded" MTV project, recorded in Morocco, Wales, and London, which rated highly on network television. It was not a reunion of Led Zeppelin, however, as former bassist and keyboardist John Paul Jones was not present. In fact, Jones was not even told about the reunion by his former band mates. He later commented that he was unhappy about Plant and Page naming the album after "No Quarter", a Led Zeppelin song which was largely his work.
In addition to acoustic numbers, the album features a reworking of Led Zeppelin classics, along with four Middle-Eastern and Moroccan-influenced songs: "City Don't Cry", "Yallah", (or "The Truth Explodes") "Wonderful One", and "Wah Wah".
The album was #4 on debut on the Billboard's Pop Albums chart.
Several years later, Plant reflected on the collaboration very positively:
The will and the eagerness with Unledded were fantastic and [Page] was really creative. Jimmy and I went in a room and it was back. His riffs were spectacular. To take it as far as we did, and the tour we did - it's one of the most ambitious and mind altering experiences.
My beautiful husband died of Cancer almost 3years ago but this song he dedicated to me with all his heart.. I cried when he did that nearly 15 years ago but I cry even more now because I can't hug him when its playing to say thank you 😥.
I just sent this to my husband (text) so when he wakes tomorrow he will know the eternal love I have for him. This song just conveys that so well. We’ve been married 39 years…… cannot fathom what you must be going through . I pray you find peace , especially through music. It’s my belief that he is with you every moment. God Bless. Xx
I hVe a similar connection with this song tears in my eyes now almost everytime i listen to it and then seeing page n plant playing it..zep's my fav #1..there arent any other #s..saw zep 7-23-77 up front and center oakland ca day on the green..i was 8rh person into the coloseum..was empty until filled with 77,000÷ God bless Jimmy Page and Robert Plant John Paul Jones and John Henry Bonham. The greatest song from the two best musicians to ever live. I’m not talking about Led Zeppelin, they are in a whole other category of greatness that these two men alone can’t touch.
One of the rare songs they did after zep that was of a midlands folk essence.

If only they would have let John Paul Jones play bass guitar and keyboards with them during their tour in the 90’s. So many missed opportunities for reunions.

I too love this very much, these guys will be a classic for the next four centuries, just like Mozart and Ludvig Von, if the Lord tarry's, that is.
However, they should have asked John Paul Jones to come along, JPJ did not even know that Page and Plant were doing this...That is cold, they even named it "No Quarter," which was JPJ's baby...poor guy.
This just goes to show that even geniuses are human and not perfect.
Page and Plant must have had their reasons, known only to them, possibly JP Jones as well.
Matters little in the long run for these guys actually shaped my, and I imagine, millions of lives, male and female, throughout the last 4 decades.
Long live Plant and Page and Jones.

I'd bet it was Plant, he never really wanted anything to do with reunion shows. And this show morffed into a couple of tours, which would've been dubbed "reunion tour" just selfish really..
They just flat out didn't ask him. They've disrespected him many times over till people started saying something

There are different versions of this song and possibly a couple others on the album...i borrowed a friend's CD and loved this song so much, I went and bought the CD myself, and it was a different version! ... apparently different mixes of the album were released
