GOD DAMN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There will never be another Robert Plant and Jimmy Page, I feel lucky to have been born while these two gods of rock were alive
In my book Jimmy Page flew past Jimi Hendrix decades ago. Big fan of all the greats (Clapton, Beck, Blackmore, Stevie Ray, Eddie VH, Gilmour, Gary Moore, Eric Johnson, Brian May, Satriani, Vai, Prince, Billy Gibbons. Terry Kath.....) but shy boy Jimmy Page is by far the GOAT! Has been for ages and always will be! These other 15 and anyone else can aim for 2nd place - no one besting Jimmy Page - ever!.
This tune has got to be the best thing that ever hit the music business and the world for that matter! Words can not express how powerful this band is. To this day I still get mezmorized and go into stare when I hear this song. I just love them and wish time woiuld go away, so we all could LIVE happly ever after! LED ZEPPLIN FOREVER!
Just amazing!! watched an old documentary on how Page took many takes for this song on the orignal album to get it perfect. This is as good or better in one take and live. Bravo. This and Shine on You Crazy Diamond will always be my 2 favorite songs.
37 years old...have heard LZ since I was in diapers, and the music STILL floors me every time I hear it. I remember how excited I was when Page&Plant did their UnLedded project, as well as this tour....yes, LZ was a combination of Robert, Jimmy, Bonzo and Jonesy that made the music so great. But having at least the voice and that sweet, sweet '59 Les Paul Standard being lorded over by Page made me feel GOOD(I bet Joe Walsh is STILL kicking himself for having sold it).
This solo by page is much more professional and... just amazing then the other fast ones and rapid ones from Zeppelin. Gives you a different take on his guitar playing.
See them do this LIVE in Frankfurt Germany in 1970(?), I was trippin' my ass off and at first I didn't think this was Led Zeppelin when they first started cause they were playing their songs from the first studio album and I kept saying this ain't Zeppelin til they played this song and boy did it ROCK!!!! I then said, 'that's Led Zeppelin!' The people in front of me turned around and gave me a real funny look, can you imagine?? What a show though, FANTASTIC!!!
My doctor put me on a diet. "YES IT'S A DRAG!" "YES IT'S A DRAG!" "YES IT'S A DRAG!" "AND YES IT'S A DRAG!" "YOU KNOW I DON'T! I DON'T! I DON'T THINK THAT'S RIGHT!" (Thank God, and Zeppelin, for the blues. Ya feelin' me, ladies? :-D )
@Quanticco The Rain Song and Battle of Evermore...they're on the DVD "Plant and Page Unledded," and I now realize that the documentary you mentioned is probably what's on that DVD too. I thought I was missing something the way you described it lol Sorry for troubling you, but I had to make sure I didn't miss out on a Zep documentary.
@funkymonk80 I recorded it on VHS from MTV and jimmy played notes in places you dont actually hear in this version, like theyve cut them out to clean it up but I prefer the original im used to it.
@sharrer2 I wouldn't say Jimmy's solo is more professional, but I think I know what you're gettin' at. It's like the man was just FEELIN' it...picking his soul out of his body with his fingers...
i went to this concert with my parents. it was INCREDIBLE.
No way! That’s awesome

I love how whether Jimmy is playing a rapidly fast solo or a slower more intricate solo... his soul is ALWAYS in the music!
This song will never get old.

"All my tears they fell like rain" when I hear this amazing song..It's always been my fav song. ZepLuv.

One of the best version of ''Since i've been loving you". The solo is out of this world, it takes you to a diffrent dimension.
The violinist at 4:42 is in the Jimmy Page zone and how can you not be.
they're still alive, we're all lucky :)
jimmy is the best, always great. this solo is full of passion, i like the way he do it at 6:11 to 6:17 and his finger picking at 6:40 AMAZING!
Still sends shivers through my spine every time I hear these guys letting the Led out....

I'm probably the only here who remembers Janis Joplin performing -- this is soooooo reminiscent. Bluesy as it gets. Want to slow dance the night away.
Awesome! this is so bluesy, excellent!
@originalblueshound Totally agreed. And Plant made a great job too.The strings gave it a groovy and thrilling feeling
Indescribable performance!!!!!!
jimmy page is a master on the guitar!!
This is my favorite SIBLY version to listen to and play on guitar. Thanks for the video post.
Just amazing!! watched an old documentary on how Page took many takes for this song on the orignal album to get it perfect. This is as good or better in one take and live. Bravo. This and Shine on You Crazy Diamond will always be my 2 favorite songs.
