Your voice is so calming I can listen to you talk all day
glad you enjoyed it!
I recommend making a muslin of the Maison Fauvre vest. I muslined the size that was recommended based on my measurements, and and it was huge. Love the pink plaid fabric. It will make a fabulous blouse
Thanks for the tip!
Love your fabrics and plans.
thank you!
I’m 5’2” and found the front button placket very long. I shortened it and was glad I did. Love my Mila!
thanks for the tip! i will be sure to take a look at it before cutting out my fabric.
Ra - ra ! for the vest ! I have a few in my wardrobe in unusual or bright fabrics. They can tie an outfit together or brighten up a plain shirt & pants.
thanks for sharing! i'm hoping i love it and can make multiples.
Pink plaid is really pretty ❤
Spring = winter part 2 lol! It's the same where I live, though as you said this year has been very odd. Love hearing about your plans.
glad you enjoyed it!
Good luck with the vest. I made one last summer similar to that one you are thinking of making. I would suggest you make a muslin, if the bust cup and back are not correct you get terrible arm gaping. The good news is it doesn't take much fabric. I made mine out of linen. Love the top. The lining is also another great scrap buster.
thanks for the tips!
I think you'll look great in the barrel leg trousers! Even though you're short, I think you have balanced proportions. And anyway, I think it's a fun trend that most body types can pull off fairly easily. Nice plans!
see, i feel like that style should look horrible on absolutely everyone. it's like magic that it doesn't!
Lol at spring talk as cold as it is today in Northern Virginia!
I am also interested in the barrel shaped trousers! Looking forward to seeing your garments!
thanks! yes, there's been a snowstorm raging outside for the past couple of days, lol.
Great plans! I can well understand how you feel about spring turning into winter part two 😂 I live in Sweden and my husband's birthday is April 21st, we always hope to have no snow that day but sometimes the last snow storm of the season is on that day... A denim dress for spring is a great and wearable garment I think, last year I made a chambray dress using the Itch to Stich Kalispell Dress pattern, I used it a lot and loved it. Your lyocell fabric looks lovely, it will be interesting to see the finished dress 😊
it's like there's a northern sisterhood who understands what it's like--i keep seeing videos from people in warmer climates who already have summer temps. we need to stick together 🤣
Great plans! I hear you on being in the mood to plaid match! I vote for sleeveless denim dress - I think it would be a 4-season dress that way. As for topstitching, yes but maybe in a non-traditional color like navy so it's there but not in your face. I'm in Florida so we're full-on summer here just about. Blink and you miss Spring and Autumn.
navy sounds like an interesting idea! thank you, i will think about it.
I am wearing a pair of barrel leg jeans right now. I made the Matchy Matchy Archer workpants . I really love them
they are such an unexpectedly fun silhouette! i never would have thought i would like that shape.
I love that pink plaid - will go with so many things and give you that springy feeling - the barrel pants aren't crazy wide so I think they won't look ridiculous as a lot of the ones I've seen - moderation in all things, right? Good luck with your plans! Daffodils and cherry blossoms came out last week here in Philadelphia, PA - waaaay too soon - but today it's cold with a high of 43 - spring does what it wants...
i know right? i wish it would just make up its mind. there's snow on the ground here again this week.
I'm a short girl and after trying a couple of barrel legged pant patterns have had the most success with the Open Studio Shop Pant. The barrel legs are subtle and don't overwhelm me.
i hadn't heard of that pattern. it looks intriguing! thanks for the suggestion.
A vest is a fun project. I made the Pattern Scout Birch vest last year and I enjoyed it. Unfortunately I used a camel coloured corduroy and it feels a little too "cowgirl" for my personal style.😂 Fabric choice is so important!
ooh thanks for the warning! i have some beige cord leftover that i was thinking about using next fall if i like the pattern. good thing to keep in mind.
I absolutely love your plans and the fabrics you picked! I bought the Bob Pants by Style Arc last summer because I really wanted to try the barrel-shaped legs, but haven’t sewn them up yet. I might see if I can give those a try when the weather warms up here!
i've heard great things about the Bob pants! i made the Barry and loved them.
And...spring is gone again. So typical.😉
right? *sigh*
Omg did you make that cardigan, it amazing. 🎉
I did--it's the Patons Must Have Cardigan. link is in the description box under OOTD.
Bright blue should make great pants!!!👖
i hope so!
I’m looking forward to seeing how you like making the vest. I am debating if I should make it or not.
Did you knit the cardi you wore in this video? If so what is the pattern. I love it. 😍
yes, I did. it's the Patons Must Have Cardigan. Link is in the description box under OOTD.
Dress without sleeves. You can wear blouse under it and over it! 👍
thanks for weighing in!
