Thank you Sarah! I appreciate your shoutout to StephSews. So many UA-camrs who don’t give attribution to their inspirations and present them as their own. It says a lot about you and your integrity. I’m also thankful for your research and candor.

Thank you for an informative video on French pattern companies. I’m curious to venture out and try a few. I like the details that make them look special. Sewing brings me challenge, joy and satisfaction even when a project doesn’t turn out as well as I thought it should because I always learn something new.

This was a pretty cool video. Thank you for sharing this.
I've perused some of the companies that you covered. A few items appeal to me. Instructions being in a language that I don't know isn't an issue for me because I've been sewing for 43 years. A few times I found a foreign sewing magazines and then drafted my pattern from their instructions. Another I am thinking of exploring is free form sewing, which is making marks on the fabric based upon your measurements and then cut and sew.

i've found that with google translate non-english instructions aren't a big deal for me. they might be for some though, which is why i mentioned it.

Terrific video. Thanks for doing all that research/work for us. Once again, thoughtful, informative and entertaining. Have been interested in looking at French designs but am overwhelmed by what I already have. You look great in the Sirocco black and brown jumpsuit. Cudos!

I loved your vlog about how you analysed your wardrobe and saw that you needed certain colours during certain seasons. I also love I when you show certain patterns, like your colab making that awesome jumper with your friend who I also follow but can't remember her name, Gemini stitches maybe

Thanks, i'm glad you enjoyed it! i haven't done a collab with GS, so maybe you are thinking of someone else. She does do some really fun videos.

Great video 😊 thanks! I have made one of Lise Taylor's patterns, the Reverie Blouse. The instructions came in both English and French. The garment is true to size. I made there blouses and love all of them. Best Regards from Anna in Sweden ❤

Great video, Sara! I’ve only made one French pattern, and it was a dress. Unfortunately, the name escapes me as of the moment. But I remember enjoying working on that dress! You’re such a sweetheart, and I do enjoy watching your videos!

I’m making the Deer and Doe Bruyere top. It’s definitely for curvy gals (I’m not🤣). I do like the style, so I’ll adjust the pattern. Thank you for showcasing these French pattern companies. I’m all for more options! Happy sewing.

I recently discover LiseTailor, Atelier Scammit, and Cousette. (The last one you hadn't mentioned.) I have purchased patterns from each, but I am still in the process of sewing my first one. I am obsessed with Lise Tailor! They just released their Summer collection of fabrics, patterns, yarn, and notions. I have purchased some of their products from Jones & Vandermeer in New York, but I have also purchased from them from France. (Just beware, the shipping and VAT from France is pricey.) Their knitting pattern and their newer sewing patterns are available in both French and English. They have published two beautiful books, with patterns included, but they are in French. Cousette is another French company that sells sewing patterns, fabrics, and notions. A few weeks ago they released their Summer collection. They also sell sewing kits which include the pattern (sometimes PDF), fabric, interfacing, and notions. To continue my love affair with French designers I will check out the others that you mentioned which I had not heard of! Thanks, Sara.

Well researched as always Sara! I've downloaded a free Atelier Scammit pattern, but haven't got around to making it yet! So many patterns, so little time - or inclination in my case! But you've pointed me in the direction of different designers which is always interesting. Thank you so much.

The most difficult thing for me is fabric selection. When you say “I could have made this in a flowier fabric” I would love to know what you used and what you might have used instead. Since I have to order everything online I need to know the names.
I LOVE your channel. Thanks for putting in the work to keep it going.

my apologies. i'm not exactly sure what you are referencing but almost all of my recent makes have detailed reviews where i share fabric choices. if you search my channel you will likely find it. thank you for watching.

The animal print jumpsuit 🙌🏾 Sézane is one of my favorite stores for styling inspiration. I recently bought myself some Paula Babies for Mothers Day. I love them and I cannot wait to style them with my handmade garments. Thank you for sharing some new pattern companies with us. ❤

I love this video. There were a couple of brands here that I've never heard of and will definitely check out. One of my favorite french brands is Popeline & Linon. I have made their Jupe L'elegante many times. I don't know if the patterns come in English though.
