Your jacket is very gorgeous on you. You should wear red more often. Well done. 🎉
Sara, I really love the jacket it looks very professional. I also love corduroy. The red color looks great on you. Hope you continue to enjoy the jacket because although it gave you some trouble it turned out really nice. I love your sweater as well.
Your jacket looks fabulous. Super colour and proprtions.Well done for persevering! 🎉
the red jacket is 🔥
I'm so glad you ended up loving it after all that rigamarole, because it is CUTE and is cozy (and red).
Hi Sarah! I'm so glad you fell in love with your jacket because it was an event getting it together!❤
I am very lucky as well that my husband does most of the cooking and all the shopping. My husband is a manager at a local grocery store and can plan his shopping in advance because he knows what sales are coming up. That jacket came out great but I'm not sure about the button holes on such thick fabric. I usually opt for a different closure because I don't want to torture myself and my garment and risk ruining it.
That color is gorgeous, and your honest appraisal is so welcome ❤
Your jacket is stunning - definitely worth all the challenges and hard work.
Te jacket looks nice. The style and the color
You look fantastic and red! What a wonderful job on that jacket!
Beautiful bomber jacket! This video makes me want to make one, the pattern looks like a good choice but a bit too involved for me. I'll probably look up a simpler version for the spring.
It looks great on you. Glad the negative emotions associated with it won't determine you from enjoying it
It's beautiful ❤I'm curious, what machine do you own? I need another machine 😊
That's a beautiful red fabric and jacket... it would make a wonderful dress that doesn't have a lot of seams.
The jacket is really cool! Hope you redo the matching pants fly.
I love that jacket. The colour is awesome and it looks great on you. I'm so glad all that effort was worth it and you like it. I love the skirt you wore with it too. Your jumper you are wearing is beautiful too. I am also attempting a no buy month or two. I just have so much stuff and am feeling a bit over everything. I look forward to seeing what you do next.❤❤
Ha! You won the jacket war and the result is wonderful! The color is great on you and I like the different ways you styled it. It is not fun when a project feels like such a slog but in this case the results are terrific. I get frustrated when fabric moves out of place even with the walking foot and I baste a lot to try to lock things in place before stitching them. I looked at the OOTD and cannot believe you made the sweater you are wearing - wow!!! I am in awe of your skill! Yes, use your fabric - it has a shelf life (pun intended?) - the potholders are so cute and I like the ones with the opening because I have "store bought" ones from heavy terrycloth with that feature and it's useful.
Really enjoying your mindful makes! Despite the challenges, your jacket is gorgeous ❤
Your jacket looks amazing. Red looks so good on you! I had no idea fabric would fade just from light!
Sounds like it was a struggle, but it looks so chic! 🔥 I've been wanting to make a bomber, but this makes it sound overwhelming-maybe one day! 😂
Your jacket is fabulous congratulations on finishing it 😊😊😊
That jacket is so cute on you. Especially with the shorts :)
Thanks for sharing. It is always a pleasure to Watch your videos.
So sorry to hear that your jacket caused so much frustration, that said, it is soooo cute!
Gorgeous jacket, Sara 👏🏻. And thank you for reminding us that fabric should not sit forever in a pile.
Love the jacket. Looks great on you too.
I LOVE the red jacket, Sara! I bet you’ll have that in your wardrobe for a long time….
This is just a fabulous jacket Sara! The colour, the fabric and the style. So much!
Love your jacket and the pot holders. I have been thinking of making some because ours are so messed up but I don’t know what kind of batting to use for things you use on hot stuff. My husband cooks most of our dinners as well! Yay Us! Lol😂 Placemats are a lovely sewing idea as well. My kids are hella messy though. I’d have to make like 25 to get us through the week lol😂. We have woven ones now that I just wiped down but they’re boring and masculine. Anyway, great video!
Use old cotton towels instead of batting. It's free and will protect your hands from the heat. Cut to size and layer.
The color of your jacket is so beautiful ❤! It also fits wonderfully. I definitely have the experience of making something and not caring for it at first. Sometimes we just need some space from the experience of creation.
It’s fabulous!!
Really enjoyed this casual chat/catchup, Sara! 🤗 The jacket came together beautifully and looks incredible on you!! 😍👏 The other projects look great as well! All great ways to utilize your stash! 👍👍 What are some of your top favorite meals that your husband cooks? 😊
The sweater you are wearing is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! It is beautiful.
Mitred square blankets can feel like a slog, but it's very satisfying using up your sock yarn, isn't it?
I was attempting to quilt a baby blanket that had a bubble backing. That weird velour/fleece fabric that resembles bubble packing. And the stitches were skipping etc driving me nuts. I finally after much hair pulling and swearing toke the quilt and the machine to the quilting store and found out about the detail I have on my machine called "presser foot pressure dial". I couldn't believe I never noticed it before. Whaaaaat?. I've had that machine for upward of 10+years!!!! And made many quilts on it. But never with this fabric backing. I've since discovered that little dial makes less stressful buttonholes if the fabric is different layers etc. or with cable knit or rib knit attempting buttonholes on plackets. A nightmare usually. But not anymore Maximum pressure flattens the fabric while sewing. And you don't get any distortions
The corduroy jacket is absolutely stunning! You inspired me to finish my frustrating corduroy jacket project.
It's an adorable jacket! It fits you perfectly and looks so nice on you! Good job!
Your jacket was worth every challenge you had to overcome. It is stunning on you.
Your red jacket is really nice, especially with jeans.
My husband won't let me sew anything for him. I'm not too good. Ha ha.
I don’t knit, but just love that blanket you are making. You look great in your red jacket, too. Thanks for the sun damage warning. I would have never thought the sun could damage fabric inside those plastic drawers. I was thinking about getting an estimate to have some of my residential windows tinted. Our floors were refinished and the floor guy mentioned looking into tinting (a film type product) since we had sun damage on the wood. Guess I better not put it off anymore.
For the pot holders, you used cotton batting and ??? [I can't make out what you say - I even slowed down the speed. Is it "incel bright"?] Thanks!
It is Insul-Bright, a batting with an insulating layer to make potholders and oven mitts that are heat-resistant.
Beautiful job. Love the colour and the fit.
I really like your jacket! Also, like you, my hubby does most of the cooking.
Your jacket is GORGEOUS! The red is a wonderful choice for your coloring.
Love your plans. My goal is to replace only and clear out whatever I don’t use. I want to choose a difficult project but a still deciding what to make.
sounds like a great plan! best of luck to you.
Dressy because I’m a sucker for a bib overalls pinafore dress. You have styled it so cute with the boots and all too.
thank you so much! i should revisit that outfit.
@ absolutely! I’m, shall we say, vertically challenged myself and I think that outfit is great for you.
First, I love the plaid shirt you are wearing - I saw a similar fabric at Joann last week but didn't buy it out of an attempt at self-discipline such as your video is about 😁! I have been thinking along similar lines - patterns and fabric I purchased because I liked them (at the time) but nothing has happened with them and I need to re-evaluate. Also, I can only wear so much clothing in a year - what was I thinking?!? I plan to buy only as absolutely necessary and use what I have. We do get tired of what we have and marketing appeals to our desire for novelty so building that in as you are by rotating what you already have may be helpful to me as well. Thanks for the tips!
glad i could help! the fabric you saw probably was the same as mine--it's a cotton flannel from Joann.
@@knottygnome 👍. Trying to talk myself out of going back to get that fabric 😄!
Love your idea of themed weeks. That turns it into a game 😊
yes, i'm hoping to make it more fun!
