Looking good buddy! Keep the bloopers in the end too.
There are 2 main versions of this block. Ohh50 is 172cc, ohh60,65,70,etc are all the 195cc block. Something to look for when buying one. I've built 2 of these and I bought a Tecumseh Motorsports version brand new and in the crate and it's waiting to be assembled! Good video!
Where did you find a crated powersport engine?
@@contraband1543 there was a guy in Puerto Rico selling them back in 2020. He said his dad was a Tecumseh dealer and had a bunch of Tecumseh Motorsports stuff NOS. He had ohh motors (the overhead valve ones), H50 flatheads and 2 Star motors for sale. They're all gone now
That's an interesting intake set up. A VM22 mikuni has the same bolt pattern as the Tecumseh carburetor, but you have to make a spacer to clear the exhaust. Also the factory intake elbow is pretty bad for air flow. I'm gonna try your way!
I think it would be far easier to just have a shop make a metal intake for like 40 bucks.
It's a half hour of work if you start from scratch.
Solves multiple problems at once
Bend a pipe, cut it to size, weld a flange on each end, done.
Yep it would have
The mice ate the coil because it was probably made with a natural base type plastic.
Happens a lot on cars with wire insulation
Thoughts on using an iridium spark plug? I have 8 of them laying around anyway.
Small engines like this aren't refined enough to benefit from iridium so you can use them but the only thing you'll get out of it is longer lifespan of the plugs.
@@MechannibalGarage65 Is there a place I can get in touch with you directly? I have a lot of questions about a build Im working on.
The work email is in the About section for the channel.
OK tell me did you see any performance gains on the carb alone?
Absolutely, it actually likes to rev now and has a consistent power band. The mower style carbs really only like to maintain rpm or gradual rpm changes.
Hello, I have had the worst time attempting to find an aftermarket muffler for a "ohh60 71106c" Tecumseh 6.0hp.. do you have any suggestions?
For performance! Overall I'm really trying to just upgrade or tune the engine the best i can.
Yeah finding anything specific for these tecumsehs is really difficult. I'd try to find a dirt bike silencer for an 125cc+
@@MechannibalGarage65 the bolt spacing reads 1.5 inches on the muffler flange. Does a 125cc muffler work?
It would depend on the manufacturer of the silencer and the bike model it's designed for. I'm sure some of them will work.
@@MechannibalGarage65 thank you! Also..I'm in a pickle. I got a sprocket stuck on the cam shaft..and i cut the shaft now it's too short for the clutch ..do i just weld it back on?
Start saving any engine with dual shafts they are getting hard to find
What size carburetor
It was a generic round slide 24mm mikuni clone
