I spoke to a local pressure washer in my area (Everett, WA) yesterday and the guy was trying to tell me it took him 10 years just to start seeing the fruits of his labor and that I should maybe think about doing something else because of the amount of competition in my area. I share this because a big part of all this stuff is mindset. How bad do you want it, and also be careful who you get your advice from. For me, I dont give a damn how long it takes, I will build my business into a successful one, and Im willing to do all the hard stuff. I know it wont be easy, but nothing great usually does come easy. Be willing to put it all on the line to get what you want in life and don't ever let anyone tell you that something is too hard or that you shouldnt do it. Just put in the work and you will get results. And it may have taken that guy 10 yrs, but a lot of others have achieved success in a lot shorter time. Everybody's path and the amount of time it takes to success is different. Follow good hearted people with proven track records (like Austin) and again, put in the work, and you will achieve whatever it is you want to achieve.
Guy probably said that to you because he doesn’t want more competition. Go do it. I started my own painting business and we are doing rather well so far (knock on wood) and hope it continues
This video is absolutely spot on. Almost 2 years in the industry and we're still using Lowe's $300-350 pressure washers, a $200 Reese cargo hitch carrier, a $100 16.5" Amazon surface cleaner. We also bought a BE 20" right away for full transparency (don't really recommend it though, expensive and looked absolutely terrible after the first year of barely using SH for the ground) rusted wheels, broken hand grips, etc. The worst decision but ended up being the best decision we made ( I figured it would work in our favor) is leasing a brand new work truck. Super expensive payments but Nissan had/has 18 months options. We had to owe $5,600 in taxes before inputting expenses. Dropped to $800 after the lease payments and other expenses. I'd rather drive a brand new truck for the year vs paying the government taxes. We still don't use hose reels, expensive pressure washing hoses ( we use pwaccs on Amazon. 50' don't buy the 100' too stiff and tangely), etc. Definitely don't quit your day job. My girlfriend and I still both work our day jobs.
I’m doing this because I lost my job. I’m tired of not being in control of my path. I’m all in, I’m selling my beloved car to get a truck and equipment.
I've always wanted to start something on my own but, was too cowardly to even try. Thank you for this video, I will be starting my journey on 5.13.24 and will tackle every situation that arises one by one. I will be in the DMV area always with a smile on my face. :)
As a window cleaner, it always pains me to see people using water fed poles because I just know the customers could be getting a better result for a better price. But, it also makes me happy because that’s where I can come in as that professional business and fill that gap.
I’m torn on a skid or trailer build. I like the idea of convenience of a skid but I do think about the amount of water and chemicals it can hold. I also don’t like the idea of tying up my truck. I guess I could pull it in and out but that sounds like a headache. I’ve spent years towing a trailer for carpentry work but that’s kind of a drag also. I know there’s no clear answer but I’d be happy to hear your and anyone’s thoughts. Thank you. I appreciate it
Great video, I worked with a friend who has a pressure washing business to learn the equipment, chemicals, methods prior to investing into equipment myself. Made Google page & set up the LLC 👍
Great video. I am watching all sorts of inspirational videos on everything from manifestation to raising my vibration. I think there are hints of everything along with good advice on starting the pressure washing business. I am going to work on everything that you suggested. I have subscribed.
What’s a good insurance company to go with if I plan on doing gas stations, restaurants, and parking garages ? I’ve been doing getting quotes for over $1,600 does that sound right ?
This video doesn't even have that many views his business is clearly profitable but people with your mindset leave more room for those with a stronger one 👍
We have a handful of companies in my area but they’re still pricing high so I assume there’s plenty of work. I got a couple bids on my home and I’d be thrilled to do it for that price

That’s a great mindset! I’m just north of you in Marysville. Don’t worry about competition- there’s enough work to go around!
💯💯💯💯💯
Trust in yourself bro! Technology then and now is not the same. Your capacity and ideas is not the same as his. You can grow faster then he did.

Hey Austin, great video. I plan on doing only Commercial, what contracts do you use and how do you quote the job. Thanks..
Very nice
What’s the best way to try and get customers. We go around handing out cards and nobody calling
Appreciate the Gems !!
Where did you go to find the contact info for those realtors?
What’s a good insurance company to go with if I plan on doing gas stations, restaurants, and parking garages ? I’ve been doing getting quotes for over $1,600 does that sound right ?
awesome video brother ! cheers man
Damn Austin, you have some hops huh? Dunking in there, love it!
Haha back a couple years ago yea! Not as much anymore. But I still got it sometimes
Can I just use my sodium hypochlorite straight from the bottle and attach it to my pressure washer ?
Using 12.5%
I see a lot of people on UA-cam missing surfactants with sodium hypochlorite, but you usually just use sodium hypochlorite. Any reasoning?
Why don't you wear waterproof boots?
Yap

The market is flooded. It is not that profitable anymore. This guy is making money off UA-cam by making videos. Don’t believe it.
Lol
Just because more people are in the marketplace, offering a service doesn’t mean that they are providing a service that our customers want to pay for
Even beyond that there’s more places to clean then the company’s can keep up with
