bro, do you know if i can print vinyl with an HP z3200ps? I can buy it for very cheap, but I would only use it to wrap my truck with some business info
Thanks for this, I've always wondered how they did this to cars! Nice to see a video showing an advertisement car and not just a 1 colour vinyl, as adverts have to be attached so much more accurately!
Does the laminate affect the moldable nature of cast vinyl? Also are you using ss21 inks on the Mimaki? Quite new to this and have picked up the same printer on eBay. Thinking of getting into wraps in the future. For now I'm using it for banners etc for my print shop in the UK. Many thanks!
Chris Cork As long as your laminate is a cast vehicle wrap type it works great. You have to make sure to use a cast vehicle wrap printable type media as well.
Hey mate, So did you start this business? If yes can you please share your story with me because I am also planning to start this business here in Stockholm, Sweden. I would really appreciate if you could help me regading your experince
Fahad Khan i have a Gerber Edge FX vinyl printer to make signs for my dumpsters. My business is dumpster rental so that printer works. You’re going to need something bigger. Roland would be a good choice. Go on their website and check them out. You will need a plotter and laminator as well. Cheers.
Milo Tea A lot of detailed measurements should be taken along with an accurate height, width, and length measurement. Then scale your image/proof/template accordingly in your design program. A wrong measurement can lead to a botched job.
Not the proper way to wrap but alright... technically you should take off the headlights, tails, mirrors and the door handles... but once I saw a blow torch instead of a heat gun I knew it was a lost cause lmao
so in the vinyl industry there is different techniques and wraps. this is a commercial wrap not a color change where you would take the car apart. commercial wraps are mostly installed like this. although at our shop we take them somewhat apart cause thats what WE do. & we also use flame all the time its pretty standard.
LOL remove headlights and mirrors on commercial wrap??? Torch means lost cause??? You must not be very experienced at wrapping if you can't wrap with a torch. Newb.
Hyperion There are a lot of ways to do a vehicle wrap. There's also a lot of ways not to do a wrap. The biggest concerns will always be consistency and no damage to the vehicle. You don't have to do a complete strip down parts to wrap a vehicle. Sure, it provides ease of access and you're able to hide more of the factory paint, but it also adds labor time because it's more extensive cleaning to do in areas that are just for your anchor points and some vehicles can take a few hours to disassemble because of its design. You can bounce back and forth with the pros and cons but every shop will value the extent of work differently. Now the torch and heat gun thing is all about and experience and control. I train new installers with a heat and graduate them up to a torch. Yes, a heat gun is safe but a torch is safe as well as long as it's in the hands of those with proper training. The torch is quicker to heat up the media for stretching or relaxing and that's where it's mainly used. I personally like to use a heat gun as a final "post heat" to ensure edges are locked and the end result is bubble free.
So cool. Applying the wrap is such an artistic challenge. Nicely done.
what are the size of a van sample vinyl paper size in illustrator cc ?
