Brother you are spot on with the Pics !! Love me some Jayhawks Hollywood Town Hall too and the Isbell Lp is a true Masterpiece I’ve now downloaded Kellogg after watching this so a major thx! Keep on Rocking, Eddie
Great video. It is the personal stories behind the albums that you reach for the most that make this such a rich topic, and it was so cool to see you lean into that rather than focusing on the pressing or version of the vinyl itself.
Thank you for your comment. I’m much more about the music, the memories, and the emotional attachment. I’m not much of an audiophile but I do appreciate a nice sounding record. Cheers, Brian☘️
Like your selections, way different (good) than most similar channels. Celtic - if you haven’t heard or listened to Horslips, you are in for a great band.
McCloskey? That was my Great Grandfather’s name who came to the states from County Cork in Ireland. Spelled the same way. Perhaps we are long lost relatives! Haha Yes, I do have some Horslips. Thanks for the recommendation. Cheers, Brian☘️
I enjoyed your video so much! You talk about these albums with so much passion - it's contagious. I will be playing some Tom Waits today. You have a pillow! How could I not? 😃 I'm now interested in Stephen Kellogg. What an incredible story. It's so cool that you remember the first song you heard as a brand new dad. I have a daughter too and she was (and is) an absolute firecracker in all of the right ways. ♥️ Your concert story was hilarious but I'm not sure that's not how you were feeling at the time. Lol. Have a great weekend.
Please check out Stephen Kellogg. He is such a talent. I recommend that album that I showed in my video. I saw him play on Friday night and he was amazing. Just him and an acoustic guitar. Love him so much. Cheers☘️
Hi Brian, I saw Jason Isbell this past August at a new venue here called The Roadrunner. Looking forward to seeing you and your sidekick Jonathan at the record show on 9/17. Cheers. ✌
Great to see you buddy! I need that Tom Waits Early Years, is Blue Skies on that? I looked for the Oakley record but it's sold out unfortunately. I order from Bull Moose all the time!
Yes, Blue skies is on it. What an amazing song that is. I’m now singing it in my head as I wrote this. Haha. No joke! Owsley is available on Amazon. I just checked. I was the only 1 to get Owsley at Bull Moose because I special ordered it. Cheers☘️
Some great shares man! I dunno about every one else but I did have to “really think about” this vid Haha! Here’s why I have more like 50 go to albums so to narrow them down to 10 (I showed 15) was a daunting task LoL! I’m not familiar with many of these albums but I knew I’d see some Van Morrison on here knowing you’re the biggest fan of VM that I know LoL! I like his stuff with Them and his early output! Dude Jimmy Buffet was a hit machine back in the day and he prolly has a following that could rival the Dead! So no judgement here brother! Good to Seeya man! Hope all is well my friend! ✨✌️👽✨
I had an easy time pulling these albums also. They are in front of my bins. College party animal. I use to have a lot of CDs from Great Big Sea, I bought them in Nova Scotia. Saw Doctors has my interest now. Glad you did this
I first found out about Great Big Sea because they opened for The Saw Doctors many moons ago. Both bands blew me away that night! Check out the Saw Docs. Anthony Thistlewaite who played with the Waterboys also played with the Saw Docs. Cheers☘️
Thanks Chris! And you are welcome for the words. Hope all is well. I completely forgot to show a few records like St. Cloud. I play that constantly. Ooops. Cheers☘️
Too funny.. I have been enjoying that Owsley Cd since it broke, and I thought I was the only one who's favorite Waterboys is " Room To Roam" Hollywood Town Hall" is what turned me onto The Jayhawks.. " Waiting For The Sun".✌️
Owsley was such a talent. Hard to believe he toured with Amy grant. I actually saw Amy with Vince Gill perform a Holiday Concert in Massachusetts years ago. What a great show. Room to Roam is a hidden treasure. I’ve been spinning Hollywood Town Hall a ton as well. That could’ve easily been in this video. I may have to make a second top 13 video. Hahaha Cheers☘️
@ShamrocknRecords That's what I'm thinking.. As I am doing one of these videos soon ! A second one, for me will be in order because I'm going way back to the records that were constantly spinning as a kid in the mid 60's !
I see The Lowest of The Low album down below and one I just picked up. I know they are a Canadian treasure. I have Tom Waits The Early Years but never did get Vol. II. Great Waterboys album but I have probably played This Is The Sea the most. Nashville Sound might be my most played Jason Isbell record as well. My brother talked me into going to see him in concert and I was hooked. "A Little Bit Of Everything" was got me into Dawes although it took me a while to find them as I thought it was Jackson Browne at first. Great stories with your choices. It's always good to see Van Morrison. A1A is my favorite Jimmy Buffett album. Great pulls.
Oh man, Lowest of the low is so incredible. Discovered them when I was in college in the 90’s. I live that record. Was spinning it the other day! Thanks for watching and for the comment. Cheers☘️
Hey Brian! Good to see you feller. When I got the two Tom Waits Early Years volumes I listened those bastards to death. Now, I can't remember the last time I put either of them on. That's partly because if I'm going to listen to Waits, it'll an album from his later period. These days I prefer mad shouty circus barker Kurt Weill Waits. I'm so excited he's finally reissuing his Island albums over the next couple of months. Everything about Jason Isbell says he should be right up my street...But he just hasn't clicked with me. I keep trying. Maybe I'll come round to him one day. I used to have albums which were my regular go-tos, but these days I'm always listening to something new. I haven't the time to go back to old favourites, and feel guilty if I neglect new music I've bought. There's not enough time in the day for nostalgia! The old stuff I do listen to regularly is genre compilations I've burnt to CD (How old school am I!?) and have on heavy rotation in the car. I walked past the Saw Doctors playing at Glastonbury, but I was on my way to watch someone else...Possibly Mike Scott playing with Sharon Shannon at the acoustic tent. Cheers - Hed
It took me years before I finally came around to Isbell and now I’m addicted. I just saw yesterday that they are reissuing Bone Machine and The Black Rider. It’s funny, I actually texted Jonathan yesterday about it. Haha Nothing wrong with the old school mixes. They were the best. I was thinking about making a video one day showing all of the records of songs that I had on a mix. Who knows, I may get t that in year 2025. Hope all is well! Cheers☘️

Stephen Kellogg & The Sixers ( Self titled ) album from 2005 is my fav ! Indigo Girls, Dawes, Van The Man.. Your killing it !!! 😊 Jimmy Buffett wrote 4 of the greatest songs ever.. Well, way in the heck up there anyway..Patty Griffin is terrific ! ✨️ I met Bob Schneider before he opened for The Bodeans here in Reno ! ( 2004 ) Great singer/ songwriter !!! ✌️

You like Celtic rock? Really?!?! ☘️😂 I’m glad you did a response to this. Yeah, I don’t know why anybody would say this is difficult to do. I really like that Tallest Man on Earth album. Came out in 2010. It was the only one I ever needed to hear, though. You know I’m all for seeing Jason Isbell. Thanks for saying his last name correctly. Nobody else does. Haven’t heard a few of these. I just picked up a repress of Navy Blues. Great seeing you Brian! See you some time in November. 😄✌🏻

Hi 👋 l like Tom Waits very much. He's an individual, there's no one like him. Blue Valentine is a good album of his. The Waterboys i like as well. The Whole of the Moon is a good song of theirs i think. I notice you have Rod Stewart's Alantic Crossing from 1975 behind you. I remember that being a big seller back then, i was in high school then. Sailing was the single lifted off it. I like the Indigo Girls , i had their debut album in the 1980s. That record looks good pressed in green vinyl. Some records are comforting in the way of making me feel good. If I'm feeling low there's nothing like putting on something that is uplifting. of fits the mood I'm in. Enjoy your drinks.
