- Well, I´m re-upload my soundtracks without song of the credits by popular petition.
****************************************
This is my favorite song of all soundtrack. All soundtrack is composed by Hans Zimmer and this song represents the climax of the movie. - Фільми й анімація
"Oh Simba, it's to DIE for." - One of the best villains in cartoon history.
wyattparmbruster1 One of the best villains in movie history
wyattparmbruster1 Scar is a creepy villain!
Agreed.
Scar's the best, still cryin on this :( "LONG LIVE THE KING!" :'(
not just cartoon history MOVIE history in general and Jeremy Irons was fucking great as Scar pity he won't be in the live action remake but i still think Chiwetel Ejiofor will kill it as Scar
Literally the power of MUSIC. This piece makes you feel uneasy, hairs on your skin go up, butterflies kick into your stomach, and you can't help almost crying when the choir comes in. Truly an underrated piece of music. Well done Composer, well done indeed.
especially at 1:11-1:30 omg I cry every time. Just seeing Mufasa's tired face looking at Simba struggling is truly heartbreaking for me.
shy ramen indeed... very powerful
That's the UNGODLY powers of Hans Zimmerman for aayou.
A little late, but damn the feels hit hart in that scene and the entire soundtrack. It's even terrifying when you see it on stage with the musical... I hardly could hold back my tears.
Forget “Almost Crying” from 3:20-4:20 I’m crying like a baby
"Hey uncle Scar! Will I like the surprise?"
"Oh Simba, it's to DIE for!"
Best line ever in The Lion King.
That sick bastard
Literal :'(
He is the Devil
Long life the king
At 2:01, I can still hear Mufasa's scream and Simba yelling, "NO!" FEELS OVERLOAD
1:10 when the women start singing is the best part of the song, they sound like angels.....the key they hit is amazing.
Good old Mozart (it's apparently inspired by Lacrimosa from his Requiem)
Pakken's Backyard I kinda see it
@@Pakkens_Backyard How appropriate.
angels? for me was death itself calling for me o-o
Yeah man that vibe generated is so otherworldly and epic and fucking inspiring and sad at the same time
"Long live the King!" - The most sarcastically sinister line I heard during my childhood.
Long alive the king too you
It’s sad when you learn Mufasa teased Scar when he got the scar
listened to this while out on my morning run.... needless to say I was motivated because I didn't want to get trampled by stampeding Wildebeest.
certainly helps you for the last 100 meter sprint!
Don’t fall off the cliff either
Or get betrayed
I was sad af and then I read your fucking comment and I lost my shit!
While this is the most epic piece of music ever written for a film, 1:11-1:30 always gives me chills
Rob H
1:40 - 1:55 does it for me
fatboyRAY24 yeah it's so perfect
Kay Taylor
I'm surprised we're the only ones to even mention it lol
fatboyRAY24 ikr
That part stands out so much!
3:11 The major to minor transission really captures the moment Simba loses all hope. You can feel it only by listening to this. Hans Zimmer is a musical genius.
The god must be genius
I'm simply crying, can't help it
BUT it is also the music where simba restored his hopes during the "remember who you are" scene
Idk, I think it 3:20 is when Simba lose all hope, he knew his father were dead and lost everything.
And then when the [what I call] “Mufasa music” starts playing around 3:20
I love how 0:14 sonically illustrates the feeling of electric, bone chilling fear that leaves you unable to breathe. This paired with the quick zoom up to Simba's face was so memorable. That scene will always stick with me.
The build up to it is nothing short of fucking masterful.
It's not JUST that one measure of music, but everything that comes before.
The thirteen seconds of sudden realization that _something is wrong,_ followed by confusion leading into that sense of rising panic, is what lets that one single moment of pure, unadulterated, world-shattering _terror_ land as hard as it does.
In my opinion, this scene has one of the best scores in movie history. The scoring of the entire movie is amazing, but this scene is just absolutely incredible. The score for this scene has so much power and emotion behind it, and this snow was written so well for this scene that you can hear every detail of what is happening on screen.
2:20 is one of the most beautiful transitions... I think I can speak for us all here that it immediately brings up so much emotion. We don't even need the visual component.
Thank you! I see people timestamping other parts but that is the most emotional part for me. You know exactly what it's trying to convey without any words
@@grayninja9958 Bambi and Lion king along with Good Dinosaur and Coco made everyone who saw them be sad out loud.
@@bondseanbond5190The Good Dinosaur didn't deserved any hate 😭💔
3:20 this part is just amazing
3:19
i gotta ask what happens at 3:20
Sophia Edwards No, he sees him die around 2:10 after that is when he is yelling for help but no one comes
Yes, this part is amazing! But i think this part even better: 1:11 to 1:55 (it is very exciting)
mrprojoe1 Simba starts crying
In 1994 I was 10 years old when The Lion King came out I remember crying my eyes out on this scene when Mufasa died, but I couldn't help but be Captivated by this Phenomenal yet Haunting music, it was the Greatest music I ever heard, I beg my mother to get the sound track and today I am still Captivated by the power of this music! Hans Zimmer is the Greatest composer of my generation !!!!!
Nah, hans zimmer was bad compared to john williams, who did msny great pieces like jaws and indiana jones
Unitt Smashes All Definately
everybody has his preferences... hans zimmer managed to express the emotions and sadness with this piece, so many people still could cry when they listen to his music. doesn't mean anybody else can't do it too.
Unitt Smashes All Definately okay, hans zimmer wasn't BAD compared to john williams, lets be real. hans zimmer is ~amazing, however, i agree that he can't necessarily compare to john williams because williams is just a _god_ when it comes to composing. seriously his music is insane. still... that doesn't make hans zimmer _bad_ comparatively.
***** Yeah John Williams is the Greatest composer period. I just feel that Zimmer is the best of this generation.
natedoggg2002 yes!! that's probably the perfect way of putting it.
'Dad? Dad come on.. you gotta get up... Dad.. we gotta go home...' I am not crying at all.. noo T_T
MischiefHowlVA that scene is so heartbreaking. a little kid, regretting things he has done/said to his dad, seeing him rescue him and then dying because of it. and then not realizing that he's dead. gets me teary just thinking about it.
melew25 That's what makes the scene even more heartbreaking. The fact that Simba can't get him to wake up. And he's too young to really even know why :(
@@RB01.10
But at least he got to know what death is.
@@katelynbodiford5680 That was his first experience of death yes.
@@RB01.10
Yeah it totally was.
I just find it so amazing that even without the visual we can picture this stampede happening, just with the power of music.
Agreed.
My mother saw this movie with her father and little brother when this movie came out back in 1994. She told me that this scene hit her in the soul. It didn’t help that two years later in 1996, grandpa suddenly died of a heart attack. Mom hadn’t even met dad yet and my uncle was only 12.
To witness such a soul crushing scene like Mufasa’s death and then have to live it yourself without warning.....
Am I the only one who hears "GO, GO, GO, GO, GO" at 0:27? (This piece always makes me want to cry though. One of my earliest 'encounters' with death on screen as a child.)
i herd it
God- Now I can't unhear it -_-
I heard “there there there there” because it shows where Simba is
"Long. Live. The King."
Scar is easily one of the best Disney Villains I swear he is.
This soundtrack is probably one of the greatest ever made. Back when Disney weren't all animated, back when music was made by people, not computers.
please...this was composed by HANS ZIMMER, one of the biggest "computer" music composer in the industry.
GothicHand and by disney that up to today use mostly orchestral recording rather than computer ones, and it goes for disney! just like they keep doing tradiotnal animation from time to time as well as computer
Some movies like my little pony (2017) still have a hole opera for a
What are you talking about? 99% of the movie soundtracks today are made by real orchestra.. Hans Zimmer makes music over the computer but get’s his sounds from real instruments
Remember that day Google used AI to help people compose music similar to Bach? "Specifically, [the AI] was trained on 306 of Bach’s chorale harmonizations. His chorales always have four voices, each carrying their own melodic line, while creating a rich harmonic progression when played together. This concise structure made them good training data for a machine learning model."
this is the best movie ever made in history
Ankitha Vinod
True! It's my favorite movie ever and I also think it has the best soundtrack!
Agreed!
Absolutely true even if this scene still scars me to this day it's probably the best animated film ever made and the best soundtrack ever
This is like going to the exams... Before, during and after!
I heard, "Dad? Dad, c'mon.. you gotta get up!" Then I started bawling.
1:38 aaaand my body tempeture droped by 3 degrees.
I saw Hans Zimmer live on Friday (10th Oct). It was incredible. Though I wish he'd played this. I get goose bumps all over my body listening to this.
the theme to retail employees on black friday
serge1500 Which part? The soft part that starts at 3:19, or the whole score before 3:19?
Probably the stampede part.
Great comment.
A Wwe
Amen to that.
Is it me or is this one of the most underrated music in this movie?(for some reason when people talk about lion king - this theme never comes up)
Kobi Tzarfati this music is from the movie but not a lot of people have watched the movie
I guess because not as many people listen to the instrumental tracks as we do. Kind of a shame, if you ask me, especially with how intense and amazing this song in particular is.
Probably because in front of it is a death scene that haunts them forever
Kobi Tzarfati
That's true! It's very underrated! But it's still one of my favorite movie scores ever!
@Janhavi Kumthekar well yeah, but i haven't said anything about the lion king but on this specific track, usually when people talk about great music in Disney films they don't really mention this theme, even when talking about this movie.
I always cry at 2:27.
+EricVierthaler92 yes!!! me too! it's very sad
Me 3
EricVierthaler92
I cry at the whole score😅😭
1:11 remember this part so much!
I do too! I can see Mufasa running through the horde. :c
thats when Scar is shown walking slowly, watching the whole thing from above right??
Oh I don't know.. that's just the picture I get in my head.
that's my favourite part! that singing is so haunting
It's when mufasa looks up at simba on the branch
Hans Zimmer being a genius even before i realized it as a kid, i remember later as a grown up realizing the same guy that did so many beautiful scores i enjoyed also did The Lion King. it was like woahhh..
God damn it Scar
hahaha.......I know, right? He could have given my man a paw up and ruled the Prideland side by side!!!
Fuck Scar and Judge Frollo.
1:11 - To have your Spirit Melt
L K The emotion in the singing is what gets me
"your father is on the way ...hold on"
HURRY!!!!
*sobbing* Shut up.
Dooby McFoosen rude.
T____T
There! There, on the tree!
30 year later, and this scene part (and music) is still heartbreaking and powerful.
Mufasa is not only is a king but also act like a noble Paladin, risking his life to save and protect his son's life, sadly unaware of Scar's betrayal which leads to his demise.
While not the first character in a Disney film to die, this was actually the very first movie that not only have one good character die, but you got to see Mufasa's dead body. Heartbreaking and tearful when Simba cries and mourn of the loss of his father, believing it was his own fault.
That was very hardcore of Disney.
This must be the most powerfull and dramatic piece of the entire soundtrack
2:00 noooooo!!!
I could see it in my mind, as I listened to this. I knew the exact moment when Mufasa fell, and that's when the tears started rolling.
Same
Draggo Long same I've watched the movie over 18 times and I still cry
It is creepy how with this music I can feel everything, I just need my ears for that. Thank you Maestro Zimmer
I love putting my headphones on and blasting this song. Hans Zimmer really outdid himself.
This scene was honestly the most terrifying thing I'd seen. I was probably cringing in my seat when the choir at 1:12 started up. I was pretty little and hadn't seen many character deaths, so it was a big impact. I thought the choir was the hyenas chanting and singing about Mufasa dying, and even though I liked them when they were being funny (especially Shenzi), when they were scary, they really scared me.
I watched this movie recently with a bunch of my friends, and one of them left because she didn't want to see Mufasa die. I always thought the whole scene was scary and sad, but I'd never been so impacted by something that I couldn't watch. It kinda stuck with me how much something can impact a person.
1:10 my fav part
Most brilliant cartoon of all time... that can melt down your heart
By far the most powerful song in the whole soundtrack, I cried when this part happened when I watched it in 3D.
One of my favorite parts of this is definitely at 0:07. Those notes begin the stampede as you see the wildebeest coming down the canyon and it is really powerful every time..
Chilhood memories...
Every time I listened this part,I'm crying a lot!....
You're not alone! Even though it is an important part of the movie, it is the most depressing part. Even so, I like the music herd. It definitely matches the scene.
When you can't get Alan Menken to write the score, you get an equally talented musician. And Hans Zimmer was the perfect choice. I particularly love the part at 1:11 but the whole thing is brilliant.
1:46 never fails to give me goosebumps my god.
+StephonST Can't believe it took you that long. Had already happened twice to me
When I saw this movie in 3D, there was... a lot of emotion. When I saw the original cut in the theatres as a kid, I didn't cry at all. Two major points I had to hold back my tears as an adult. Mufasa's death being one of them.
Even now, at age 19, I still can watch Lion King, it's just too awesome! :')
are u 28 yet
lastnight i had a dream that me and a bunch of people was in a cave and then we felt it was getting too hot and we look around, 1:40 - 1:46 was playing. then we see lava rushing towards us like a dam bursted, when it was coming towards us, then the music at 1:47 - 1:56 played.... it was such a sight and epic the way it happened.
Joshua Deale thank you for sharing your dream.
Joshua Deale a dream of epicness . sounds good
You know, people say all kinds of things about this movie like "Best Disney movie!", "Best animated movie!", "Best '90s movie!", "Most nostalgic movie!", "Best songs ever!", etc. And rightfully so!
But one thing that I pretty much never hear and REALLY needs to be said is BEST CINEMATIC SCORE EVER!!!
I have never seen a movie with as unforgettable a score as The Lion King, and it's because of this movie that I consider Hans Zimmer the best cinematic composer ever!
I can feel so much emotion in this track, it's almost too much to bear
My favo movie always! i'm now 29, never forget this move and music. Best moment in my childhood Lion King.
Insane how good this entire soundtrack is
Best Disney song of all time. No doubt
CRY EVERY TIME. no matter music or that scene.
Oh my God, this song traumatized me. Sort of!
i want this played at my funeral 3:19 onwards
Jimbus same here
Am i the only one who cries literally every fucking time they hear 3:19 playing
Christina Black nope you're not the only one cuz i was having chills and getting watery eyed trying not to lol
+Christina Black ... That part has always got me too! Since I was a teen I would hear that chord change to minor and melt. It's so heartbreaking. This is just as good as music gets.
OMG that is really depressing I have watched the actual video where simba finds Mufasa and where the music is changed and it's just sad it reminds me that Mufasa won't be there anymore
alexis carter im here in 2017 and its still makes me cry especially when part of this music plays when they have that father son moment after being attacked by the hyenas and they look so happy and next thing u know he dies and I'm just. ...
alexis carter same
If I get the opportunity to say my last words after doing something heroic, I want 2:20-3:20 to play in the background.
E Bach Me too.
This made me get a little teary- eyed. :(
same
This is just so touching!
I can't help myself getting goose-bumps and crying.
Such a tragic scene in the movie!
For me Lion King will always be the very best Disney movie of all time.
It is full of different emotions...wonderful!
jesus christ, what is going on in hans zimmer's head, pure genious :D
The part at 1:30 sounds like the perfect chaos
*adds to playlist entitled: 'Epic Lion King' *
(Already had it in Badassery playlist.)
This makes me cry, i can feel the music all over my body. What a magnificent piece of art 🙌🏻.
I DID IT! I listened to the music without crying!
...Although I cry like an onion ninja striked when I watch the actual video.
Was the onion ninja thing a PaRappa the Rapper reference?
Cryed when my cat died beacause she fell from a high place and landed right on the concreate snd positioned like mufasa.
OMG, that made me cry, I'm very sorry for you!! :(
CLLL16 Thank you. Plus, the death was in my back garden when she couldn't get down from the tree and she went ffor a jump. Like with Batman i did chalk he body position so that her desth anniversary tommorow. I can go out there and pay my memories!
for* death*
M4DHOUSE005 Roblox TPS I thought all cats landed on their feet.
sanic pls they do when they jump off a table but she was on a tree and she jumped and she went spinning in the air landing head first on the pavement. So that means (she couldn't control her jump.)
The other day, I watched the lion king, when I saw the wildebeest stampeded I felt upset because during that scene, Mufasa died because he got ran over by the wildebeest, I felt like crying. This brings back a lot of childhood memories. In Bambi, Bambi lost his mother when he was young.
It's definitely a seen that can even make grown ups cry. Yah it's part of the movie and makes the story, but it is the most depressing part!
Since lion king is basically hamlet, the choir that plays when he’s getting to simba feels like the fates singing of his doomed fate
The music is very powerful and shows that just because The Lion King is a movie for children, it is not a movie to look down on.
And the title of this song "To Die For" struck me odd at first as I thought it'd be simply called "Stampede" or something but that's also very powerful. A father loved his son so much he literally died for him. Nowadays people try so hard to be dark and striking in "adult movies" but the desperate attempts don't even come close to the emotion felt in Mufasa's death.
im a grown man, and i am in fucking tears. best movie -animated or not- of all time
Doesn't this make you feel like you're in a tsunami, running from the wave and then witnessing many dead bodies?
someone should make a video like this what it makes you think, maybe you can make video like that
crunchycookie06 no, being chased by a giant demonic dragon and seeing many possessed and dead people while the world is turning pitch black and you're trying to run and find somewhere safe to hide? (took me an entire 28 seconds to type this)
This and "Sanctuary" from The Hunchback of Notre Dame are the best movie soundtracks for me
How many people were watching the movie in their heads as the music played and 'saw' Scar kill Mufasa all over again. I'm swear, I felt chills when the music dropped off.
This is Hans Zimmer's best
1:11-1:30 k I've been listening to this same part for at least an hour and I heard the beautiful African choir singing/chanting. (not sure which) and in my hearing, it sounds like this: yo ne yo nah (or yah) x4 yah yahyayayayah.. *sings a long 'ohhh' note*
shy ramen I know, right? I thought I was the only one who liked that part in particular.
"I lost my dad when I was very young, [...] the 'Fuzzy Animals' movie became very serious and very profound for me. So, yeah, I wrote a requiem for my dad."
- Hans Zimmer
"Oh, its to DIE for" - Scar, though a murder, my favorite character of all disney movies
There are Mozart's "Ave Verum Corpus" frames inside 😍
This song gives me chills every time! ;-;
Goosebumps in the first 20 seconds.
This song is so full of emotion it's soooooo good. Love it! Kudos to Hans Zimmer
Happy 20th anniversary of this movie coming out :)
i still cry my heart out 10 seconds into it
I could never ever stay to watch this part.....When I was just a kid I used to leave the room and wait till my older sister told me it was over with, which still made me cry.
This is an all around great soundtrack
Black Friday in a nutshell.
yea the beginning part of this
best music ever .....
No matter how many times I watch this movie or listen to the soundtrack it gets me every time :(( (I was just a kid when I watched it for the first time) Such an epic emotional and strong soundtrack for an amazing and legendary movie!
2:20 you know that kind of music that makes your heart well up? this is one of those...
I hope James Earl Jones, is still alive. I'm so worried about him. :'(
He is alive but his character isn't
3:18 Waaaaaaaaa!! TT~TT
i was too young to see this in the cinema on its original release but i saw it yesterday... the last day of it in the cinema and all the whole movie seemed even better on the big screen... THUMBS UP TO KEEP THIS IN THE CINEMAS
Lion King is by far the best animated Disney movie, the soundtrack is outstanding, and Hans Zimmer is pretty much the best composer out there :)
Scar=Best Disney Villain, no competition.
Only villain that may come close is Maleficent, Cruella, and whoever the villain is in Moana (most probably going to be a God, or a demon from the looks of it.)
Jafaar was somewhat of a bad ass as well.
You forgot Judge Claude Frollo
Bassam El Ali Oh yes, how could I forget? It's a tie between Frollo and Scar
Knight Wonder Don't forget Lady Tremaine from "Cinderella." She is probably the most realistic of the Disney villains. She doesn't have any magic or powers; she's simply a cruel, heartless old woman that can still strike terror into your heart.
Chernabog is a good contender too
It's kind of cool that this was the only Disney movie that Alan Menken never did the scores.
NOBODY BEATS FUCKING HANS ZIMMER!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Steve Jablonsky, Danny Elfman, Christopher Young: "Hold our beers".
„Hey uncle scar, will I like the surprise?”
„Simba, it’s to *die* for.”
Goosebumps!
Even at 17 years old I keep crying when Simba tries to wake up his dead father...='(
