Even after 26 years, the lion king hands down still has the best Disney soundtrack ever made.

"Dad? We're pals right?"
"Hah right."
"And We'll always be together, right?"
"...Simba..Let me tell you something that my father told me....Look at the star, the great kings of the past look down on us from those stars.."
"Really?"
"..yes..so whenever you feel alone, just remember, that those kings will always be there to guide you....and so will I."
-Mufasa and Simba
One of my favorite moments.. It was so sad when Mufasa died..
mufasa was as wise as atticus finch...
@@thebeckysquad1326 amen.theyre both decent. thats why.
this dialogue is enough to make one want a happy relationship with their dad!!
this scene always makes me cry now, and I'm turning 29 this year
The Lion King is and always will be my favorite movie.
+Thomas Huffman Same here.
Amen brother amen
Same XD
Same
Same.
This is the best soundtrack of any animated movie of all time.
StarReel I dunno, man, I think ua-cam.com/video/dnkZEFbapYc/v-deo.html could give you a run for your money..
Holly H This Land is brilliant, definitely gives this a run for it's money :)
StarReel And dude, the instrumental song at the beginning of Beauty and the Beast? Perfect.
Holly H Jesus.. That's exactly the songs I always share with people, lol. This Land and the intro from Beauty and the Beast are the best.
Noctis Caelum YASSSSS, I AGREE.
Why is someone always cutting onions when I listen to a soundtrack from The Lion king?
Because a genius knew how to tug at your heartstrings
+Miatpi ninjas cutting onions ,ninjas cutting onions everywhere
Same here...
Spongebob Did That! LOL!!!
Tough I was the only hahaja
1994 was a great year for movies.
I was born in 1994. I remember this movie as a huge part of my childhood
i was born in 1994 to
joey8062 So was I.
the 90's all together was good but 94 had I think the best selection.
I know right ! 20 years old and this shit still hit me right in the feels! The Lion King best disney ever !
This is one of the few pieces of music that really affect me physically, at 3:02 I get this 'rush' in my throat and chest, it always happens. It's a really nice feeling but it's not happiness per se , it's something more intense but at the same time less to do with the mind (maybe more like a cross between euphoria and release). It seems like a natural response, un-linked to any form of conscious thought. I'm not sure if I am making much sense but that's the best way I can describe it. The high pitched wailing/ululation does it again so by the end I'm kinda shaky but in a good way.
yes!!! exactly how i feel!
Same, who else?
Emotion really triggers me, the beat from the african percussion instruments.
2 years late, but I have the same reaction - I adore the buildup before that part, and the burst into joyous/hopeful music at 3:02 makes it complete. It's a brilliant track.
It's that we're all linked through evolution! We can sense each others ancestory and hereditary lineage. We're drawn to those sounds as a part of life!
I HAVE THE SAME FEELING!!
Goosebumps, this brought tears to my eyes. I grew up wishing I'd wake up one day as a lion haha!
Iris African music is so soulful. I was delivered by an African man so I imprinted on the culture and it's just magical!
As a child in the 90s i used to watch this with my little cousin. This was her favourite movie. She died in a fire accident when she was 6. A tear comes to my eye when i hear anything to do with this movie 😢
Sorry D:
so sorry :(
Thanks guys x
god, i don't even know what say.... but i really sorry
That's so sad... so sorry:( I bet she's now somewhere where she hears angels singing these songs as beautifully as you can imagine♪
the reason why 0:54 is so hauntingly beautiful is beacause it's a quote from Ave Verum Corpus from Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, in which you can hear the exact same chord progression ;)
Greatest movie to date.. The music, characters, and culture were perfection.
:(
The Lion King soundtrack is the most beautiful soundtrack I've ever heard....
MickeyFan1928
Same,it's one of my favorite movie soundtracks
(Not only from Disney)
It won Han Zimmer an oscar!
No matter how many times I listen to this song, I get the chills.
I've been listening to this soundtrack for my whole life and this has always been my favourite song. It gives me goosebumps and reminds me of how magical things were as a child.
2:58 - 3:44 Yes PLEASE!
I wish that end section [starting at 2:59] had lasted a little longer.
We are going to see it again in even more epic scene in the Lion King movie in 2019 :D
@@sav1tar928
No, please don't. Have you SEEN the other remakes? They are atrocities.
totally agree
+Alias Ersonpay look for "Busa" from the Rhythm of the Pride Lands album, it's the full version of that part
@@Rasgonras IMO, I thought the Jungle Book remake was pretty good, and from what I've heard, the guys who worked on the Jungle Book remake worked on the Lion King remake as well.
This movie is my childhood. This movie is my life. This movie is me.
First cinema trip I ever had. It is still and always will be one of my favourite movies. (I have three)
Just imagine mines...
Victoria I AM IN A PLAY AND I AM TIMON
Me too. It was my favourite film as a child. I was infatuated with the story, its African scenery, it's theatrical feel, it's spiritualism. It was something I could really relate to and just loved everything about it. I still am as enthralled as an adult, it's a really special film. ❤️🦁👑
this movie was the first i saw in my life, i was 3 years old, and i will remember it for the rest of it, now i'm gonna cry again
Ha! Likewise man! Wasn't the first movie I saw, but it was my first cinema trip and I was three as well!
First I ever saw at the cinema was the original Land before Time
i LOVE disney movies.. but lion king was the only one that made me cry almost every time and moved me SO much! it just makes you feel brave..
Can we talk about how soothing this song is? I just get so relaxed listening to it ti's amazing. (except for that last part of course. It gets kinda exciting during that XD)
yeah same XD
Really? I cry in the beginning because I imagine the scene where simba is next to his dead father
same. this should play this in the spa at kalahari resort
I agree. I actually listen to this before bedtime with the lights low - the African chants at 1.55 are particularly soothing for me ❤️
Hans Zimmer is a genius omg the pieces on this soundtrack are breathe taking and give me goosebumps
Hans Zimmer 😍
I was twelve when this movie came out and had just adopted a red Persian kitten. She was the runt of the litter who was born blind. I was thisclose to naming her Nala. She passed away last April due to kidney failure. On those days when I'm feeling particular down over her passing, I'll put on this soundtrack, close my eyes and be comforted that we will see each other again. This soundtrack will forever be associated with that beautiful and precious time of my life. Love you Phoebe.
I can listen to it all day.
I have the exact same dream, i also want to be an animator but I want to be animating films like, beauty and the beast, the little mermaid, the lion king. Disney have lost some soul in the past 10 years, I think the last truly epic movie was, the hunchback, then everything went square and computer animated....its such a shame when they used to be so much more.....and dont even get me started on high school musical....oh my god!
hey
how did everything turn out ?
Believe me, they lost more of their soul since your comment LOL. But their legacy is still beautiful.
Go study to Japan then. There The PhDs are doing The Animations
All the memories, tears and beauty.. Disney no longer makes beautiful movies nor music like The Lion King or other classics.. ;/
Evilyn the Commenter Yeah it's now all political
THE PEOPLE WHO DISLIKE THIS MUST HAVE NO SOUL BECAUSE THE SOUND OF THIS PIECE OF MUSIC HAVE REALLY TOUCHED MY SOUL AND MADE ME BELIEVE THAT ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE AND GIVES ME THE JOYFUL FEELING OF BEING A KID AND MISSING MY CHILDHOOD
This movie first kind of exposed me to how it could be to lose a loved one. That may not sound so good, but I saw this movie when I was really little, and some time before my grandpa died. The Lion King was probably one of my first experiences with tragedy before I actually had experienced one, and with coping with a loss (Simba's dad talking about everyone being up in the stars and they'd always be with him).
And I do just love music like this. :) Thank you for uploading these tracks!
I was traumatized with this movie. I always watch the beginning and then disappear to my room whenever King Mufasa's death scene is on the horizon. How can Disney make me watch that scene? It was the most heartbreaking part of my childhood.
I do the same thing ! That scene still haunts me , it really is very traumatizing ......... But this movie is the best , it means so much to me , it's so heartwarming and heartbreaking at the same time and I'm really grateful for it .......
Me too pal. You're right
I couldn't watch it until last month. My dog died kinda slowely and painfully in my arms after my neighbors poisioned him. I remember doing a similar thing to Simba asking Mufasa to get up. Now I just keep watching it over and over...
Saw The Lion King for the first time during Christmas... Now Christmas and this marvel of a movie are connected in my mind !!
This literally touch your soul... I have shivers , whenever I listen this.
My favourite film of all time. Ever since I saw it for the first time in 1995, no other movie has come close to being as good and as emotional as the The Lion King.
as years go on I will never forget this movie and I'll never get tired of it. Lion king is in my heart forever :)
DISNEY is only company that create a cartoon with heart. GREAT movies. Incredibl;e Songs. I love disney! X)
And Ghibli ? And the compagnies out of the USA ? And Disney creates a lot of shits.
The entire track is beautiful, but the african choir at the end is the definition of joy.
i always remember my dad whenever i watch simba , may his soul rest in peace
3:00 IS SO EPIC! Goosebumps everywhere. I want to watch Lion King (2019) version again!
0:54 muy conmovedor increíble que una melodía te llegue a tocar el alma
Same it always gets me.
Lion King was the greates movie ever made. It brought together a generation of kids from all around the world.
This movie was the definition of my chilhood.
If only Disney made more movies like these classics.
best piece of music ever created
Nada B
So True
3:23 Man, I love that part (I'll bet that would be awesome to play at a wedding when the newlyweds and the bridesmaids and groomsmen exit the stage). There's so many indidvidual moments in this track that stand out to me. 1:54 and 2:27 are so, so good. Thank you, Hans Zimmer, for a film score for the ages that very few ever equal.
0:55 as well.
This song really takes me back to my childhood, uughh.
I watched The Lion King the first time when i was around 1 year old. I'm 18 today, but i still remember the moments when me and my big sister was sitting in front of the TV watching this WONDERFUL movie over and over again. Our parents got so tired of it and they still are, but i can watch this movie every day. I love this movie to death and i will keep loving it to the day i die.
first saw this movie when i was 4-5 years old. im 21 now, and i still watch the lion king whenever i need inspiration or feel lost in my life. the generation that grew up with these movies is by far the luckiest. we had all the great classics and were tought valuable lessons from the beginning. too bad kids now have to grow up with stuff like high school musical. no wonder our world has turned to shit. long live the generation of the 90s.
why dont they make movies like this anymore? everything has to be damn 3d that annoys the shit out of me...
I hate all the 3D animated stupid stuff! Like Frozen, Toy Story and stuff.
Sorcha Steel i loved toy story, but enough 3d is enough, making 3d movie is very lazy choice compared to drawing full length movie. :|
Well I don't extremely hate Toy Story but it is indeed no where near my favorite.
Sorcha Steel The type of animation used doesn't affect the movie's overall quality, the writing does. Certainly some people have a preference to one animation style or the other, but both traditional and CG animation alike have their positives and negatives. I tend to prefer traditional animation as well, but there are some CG animated films that I absolutely love, simply because they're good movies.
True!
0:54 Gets me every time..
Same.
Especially the instrument playing behind it.
I started to live in 1996 and still grew up with this movie.
Hans Zimmer's score of The Lion King will go down in history as one of the most brilliant film scores of all time.
2:27 "Zoboo loves garbanzo beans." "Burp. Excuse me. ZOBOOMAFOOOOOO!!!"
I’m glad someone pointed that out!
omg so true, The Lion King is the BEST MOVIE EVER,
I love it and will always do that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
McCat
Agreed!!!
Love how this soundtrack brings back the people who grew up with thee Disney!! I look at Disney Channel now and cry..
we sure did!, i was born in 91, we got such good movies from Disney during the 90's^^
childhood was good when growing up with this.
simpler times.
i like the lion king because everyone thought it wouldn't do that good.
Been in love with this soundtrack since it first came out, and the bit from about 2:27 on never fails to make every hair stand on end. It always feels like I've never heard it before. It's also the part I use to test the balance and volume on every stereo I've bought since then ;p
im 22 years old and i still listen to this and watch this movie every year
I feel sad, that I didn't watched this movie when I was very little, I watched this amazing film 15 years old, and I am in love with music. I can watch this film over and over again and never get bored.
1:21: HEMMMMMMMM. HEMM HEMMMM. HEMM HMMMMM!!!
Best sung while sewing
This whole soundtrack is beyond words but from 0:54 the piece is echoing Mozart's Ave Verum Corpus, "esto nobis praegustatum / in mortis examine" and it's just onions, onions everywhere
words cannot describe how epic this movie and its soundtracks.. why can't Disney create this kind of magic these days???
The Lionking is the best Disney movie I think. I will definatly show it to my kids in the future
Gorgeous moving soundtrack ➰
0:54 to 1:21 always gives me intense chills and brings tears to my eyes. From then on, I go from feeling emotionally touched to spiritually moved and driven. This is one powerful soundtrack...
This music is SO inspiring!!!
Peter Pan, Robin Hood and the Lion King are my fav' Disney movies. The Lion King had a great music and an even greater video game while being released
Best Disney ever and btw best song ever !
Personally i think that this version is still better then the 2019 remake of this.
The sheer majesty of this music is baffling.
Timon and Pumba..The Lion Kings, will always be in my heart!
FOREVER!
3:02, amooo✨✨
Tbh I just came for 3:03 to the end
I feel you I love it but I love the whole movie sad but a really good movie
That's OK - nobody's judging haha
Anyone else feels pure and good when watching the old Disney classics?
im 22 and i feel greatful for having grown up in the 90's with these disney movies. i still cry
...Remember...Remember/.....WHO YOU ARE!
" You are my son... and the one true king!"
This score is absolutely perfect! I could cry every time i hear it... After my death when i fly to heaven i hope i can hear this soundtrack :):)
Me too.
The Lion King is for me the best Disney film. I also love Mulan and Tarzán, both are amazing too!
lion king will forever live on as the best disney movie...EVER
When you realize that Endless Night was born from the melodies this...
For Cecil
This song, movie reminds me of being a care free kid. This movie and soundtrack brings back so many childhood memories. Absolutely love it.
Disney movies do have the most gorgeous soundtracks.. I'm 23 and still cry like a little baby with each movie..
Many parts of this remind me of Mozart - Ave Verum Corpus
The passage at 0:54 is straight from that piece.
Looking for this comment. Others know as well!
bros. if i didnt watch this movie , i would not exist!!
This movie shall never die, it's in animation history......forever
My favourite Disney movie and one of the best movies ever made!❤
You said you'd always be there for me. But you're not.
It's because of me. It's my fault... it's my fault.
1:21 Hemmm HEMMMM hemmmm hemm hemmmm
Hans Zimmer, is unbelievable, i just realized now that he was the one that directed the music, i have been a fan of his since about.... 2006, The Lion King was the first movie i ever watched in theatre's so i guess my love for his music started young.
the man is the GOD of composing
It's impossible not to move along to the hypnotic rhythm during the 2:34+
I hate how lebo gets no credit
Dang, I didn't realize (until he looked it up) that he did the voice of the guy doing the chanting/singing in Circle of Life! Impressive voice! And, of course, he assembled and conducted the choirs for the movie, too... yeah, Zimmer made a lot of great music, but it's incomplete without Lebo!
This Movie is why im a furry
for fucks sake don't share that with anyone :/
WAY TO RUIN MY CHILDHOOD
right in the childhood!
You're everything wrong with this world.
Lol, I love the negativity ^_^ Awesome Furry forever XD
all i can say is the movie and soundtrack is a CLASSIC in all time!
I miss the hidden meaning that disney movies portray that not only entertain and engulf childrens minds, but that continuously began to change in meaning after each time I watch them. It makes me realize how much I truly am maturing, and it scares me because i want to hold on to my childhood with Disney right along side me, for as long as I can...
aww....that was my very first movie, that ive watched in the cinema...
6 years old back then...
the songs are just unique!
2:26 Zoboo: "(Burps) 'Cuse me... ZOBOOMAFOO! (Laughs)"
If you've had the nerve to dislike this you have no soul and no love for music and orchestration.
Hands down THE greatest Disney movie ever made. ♥
I mean seriously- Hans Zimmer. Matthew Droderick.
JEREMY IRONS! Nathan Lane.
Geez, I can't even handle all the awesome that's in this movie.
WHO ELSE IS GOING TO SEE IT IN 3D THIS WEEK?!?!?!?!?!!!!!
exactly. this stuff is real music, music that moves you inside, has an effect on you.
Disney classics are the most heart-warming memories that even today at 20 years old make me feel some type of way :')
This is my favourite track of the orchestral soundtrack!
i will never grow up and forget the blessed moments of seeing these brilliantly made films that have inspired so much and made me who i am today i will always watch them just to remember sitting there as a child, with all the knowledge that what i was about to see was, and would remain to be the greastest thing ever to grace my screen, if growing up means loosing these precious memories then its times like this where i say "I would rather take a year from my life, then take away a single moment"
