Does the grip change much between the 3 different driver scenario? I feel like I need a stronger grip for the high bomber, compared to the fairway finder and stinger shots. Just curious.
Started playing in May. Low 20's Handicap. I have started bending my knees more (especially the front knee) at the top of my backswing, on drives, and this has created MUCH more loft off of the tee. I had to adjust by moving my tee height down a bit! Love your videos Alex. You are one of the great ones on youtube!
Excellent demonstration Alex of three different shots from three different tee heights. I have used all three of these at one time or another. I use the maximum one mostly for my driver off the tee because I am usually searching for "center cut" anyway. The two others may be used for windy conditions whereby you're hitting into it. All good suggestions Alex!
I love the fact that it's ok to tee up the driver lower. Started golfing in the '70s and we teed the ball up lower than "normal" now, but I just can't get on with this "half a ball above the face stuff". Just doesn't work for me. My normal height would be somewhere between 4th and 3rd gear. Works great for me. Thanks for helping me feel better about it!
Valuable advice as usual. When I use a pink tee I tend to hit the ball in the top half of the face. I now use the white tee for all my drives as THIS USUALLY GIVES ME A CENTRAL STRIKE ON THE CLUB FACE. This gives me better distance. ALEX, as the white tee works for me do you recommend that I should stick with it? A central strike gives better distance for all golfers. All golfers are different & the white tee suits my game.
Thanks yet again, Alex. Since I have been applying your instruction videos, my driver confidence has soared. I used to slice and now I'm hitting straight shots and at worst have a little bit of a power fade. It's truly amazing what confidence does to my game. I look forward to smashing that driver!
Mr. Alex, thank you for this tee height examples. Sometimes I hit the ball a mile high but only 100 yards down the fairway. Sometimes I hit the ball 4 feet of the ground down the center of the fairway. Understand now to match my swing speed my the tee height makes more sense to me now. Can’t wait to hit the course with this new understand of tee height and swing speed…
Hi Alex, I just wanted to post an update. Today, I used the tips in this video and they really helped! My playing partner asked me, today “What is my next area of improvement?” He was being polite and not pointing out my weaknesses in chipping. Starting today, I’ll be working on that part of my game. Of, I know a source for great information on how to do it properly! Thank you so much for your videos! 😊
@AlexElliotGolf I took this to this lesson with me to the course and it was an absolute game changer for me!!! I struggled massively with my driver on the first few holes and switched to a lower tee. Not only did I hit it straighter, I also hit my longest drive ever at 316 yards!!! Thank you for your help!!
That final tee height is interesting - going to try it this weekend as it’s 20-40mph forecast! I usually resort to 3 wood for the strategy of the pink and white tees. Think I need to practice driver for not only hitting it as far as I can 😅
Alex, Nice to see a sunny day over there. Can you provide the height , inches & cm, from turf to to of the peg. I'm using a number of your tips because the WORK! CHEERS and keep the coming.
Alex, I use a “Martini” tee to get the same height every time. Am I making a mistake? My ball flight does change because I’m not good enough to be sure my stance is the same every time. Suggestions?
Hi Alex, I'm really stuck on my back swing. I don't know whether it's best to set/hinge the wrists early or late. Can you do a video on wrist hinging please? Cheers
Thank you for your information. I'm going to the playground right now and I'll do a practical test.I hope you told me the solution which I'm going to practise. 😄
Another great tip Alex and one I had not considered I always go straight to the orange tee. Can you HELP! 🤞 I have been fitted for some irons and have noticed a massive difference, I am hitting my irons consistently straighter and longer. My problem is when it comes to the driver/3 wood. I cannot get rid of my slice! No matter how many videos I watch I may hit one in 20 straight but most of them slice. As a result the big sticks usually get left in the bag which effects me when it comes to long par 5's. I've been working on my swing and have strengthend my grip but think my problem is closing the club face through impact. Have you any handy/easy tips or drills to get the feeling of closing the club face through impact. Thanks and keep up the good work 👍
Great video I hit a nice three wood just front middle stance, red tee, (as per my hybrids) grab driver, push it forward in stance it all goes a bit "slicey"with orange and pink😢, gonna try white bring it back worth a try, ohhh surely castle tees more consistent than norma teesl suppose you play so much have tee memory😂 thanks as per for your efforts.
Good one...although a more logical method then a cheat ;) In my case I need to be more cognizant of leaning back too much at times and topping the shot. Also, I use a 3H when I need a more strategic drive VS wide open Par 4/5 hole.
could do with some help on hitting my driver in a left to right wind for faders of the ball small fade turns in to a big slice, not much videos on you tube on this thanks 👍
I did this randomly after hitting a high spinny shot into the wind. Teed it low set it about a ball and a half behind normal and I POUNDED IT 30-40 yards farther than my high one since I took the spin off. Pink is about where I am
Hi Alex, another great video. My question is, with driver, my bad shot comes from getting stuck on my back foot, causing a reverse pivot, hitting high left. I do not sway so cannot work out what I'm doing wrong. Any advice would be welcome, cheers Matt.
the tee height depends all by the loft that you use in your driver. For example if you use the orange tee and you have a driver with 12 or more loft then the ball will go straight to the.....moon
My choice is a white Castle tee and a 3 wood. Don’t use a driver and very happy with the 3 wood off the tee . Fairways for me are 5 or 7 wood or a 5 hybrid. 👍🇨🇦👨🦳
Alex, I am struggling with pulling and slicing everything l left. I am a left handed golfer and I am struggling hitting everything left. Help us left handed golfers off please 😂
the things that helped me the most were that I was pulling my backswing too high, which was giving me the out-to-in swing path, and I wasn't closing the clubface. look through alex's videos for the towel drill, it helped me a lot in getting the club face closed, and he has several videos about fixing the out to in swing path - but really, the biggest thing is to look at the angle of your driver shaft as you address the ball. your backswing should be close to that same plane. also, I stopped trying to hit maximum swing speed. those are the basics, but really, I have been following Alex's tips as much as I have time to get on the range, and I was hitting a few draws on my last full range session.
@@kenbrown2808 thank you! I will definitely give it a try. I also have to tell my self to calm down on the swing speed cause I am pulling the club down so fast instead of letting gravity work
Would depend on the weather wind and the obstacles, so many people always tee up the ball wrong, perhaps you should mention this, there is no standard tee height, this will give watchers the wrong information
This won't work. You can't hit a golf ball with an upward angle of attack with a Driver by teeing the ball that low. What will happen is that you will hit the bottom of the club face which produces a weak hit and reduced distance. The ball must be teed at least 3 inches above the ground for a golfer to make contact in the center or upper center of the club face to get maximum distance. All the professional long drive champions tee the ball at least 3 inches above the ground, some 4 inches.
Another great video on how to hit the golf ball at the optimal height that can lead to increased accuracy, improved control, and better overall performance from the tee box!! Thank you Alex for a great video, i will definitely try the white tee as well 🏌♂️⛳️🏌♂️
*Match SWING & Tee height. I use this as my CHEAT code out on the course!*

Great video! How do you stop standing when hitting a hybrid or irons? That is the hardest thing for me, I keep topping it.
Love the cheat sheet. Makes perfect sense!!!😊
Excellent insight and explanation I have not known before! 🌼

Looks good for someone that knows what they’re doing and on the course a lot. I would hit the ground first with my driver that low

What effect does hitting high on the club face have compared to hitting low. How is spin affected?

I use the pink all the time and definitely see more fairways hit with control
Hi Alex. What brand are the 3 orange, pink, and white Tees you have up on the screen?
amazon!
All weather and fairway Driving; thank you 🎉Best, John Williams @JWfit 🇬🇧 🇫🇷

Short and simple ❤
Wouldn't you widen stance too for the orange tee?
I did this randomly after hitting a high spinny shot into the wind. Teed it low set it about a ball and a half behind normal and I POUNDED IT 30-40 yards farther than my high one since I took the spin off. Pink is about where I am
Hi Alex, why do you say the orange tee is the more risky shot ?
It’s higher, so if you go wrong the impact can be greater

tip incoming tonight
I’ll have to practice on the range and see the difference. I always use a martini tee on my drive.
Hey Alex, just wondering if you recommend hitting a couple balls at the rang before a round?
Yes for sure only a few though. It’s a warm
Up not a practice 🙌🏼🙌🏼
Thanks
Brilliant!!
This would be fantastic advice if I were anywhere near consistent enough for the tee height to really matter 😂😂
With my TM r5N i feel good teeing high.

This is great, however you don’t say what brand or link you are using
My problem is when I tilt I always with the ground behind the ball
Try the white first the Jeff
How to setup for 9 & PW Hybrid clubs
I lower the tee and shorten the club if I need to hit a fairway
Yes this is a great point. Golfers on tour have shorter driver shafts
What’s the proper setup w/driver @ address w/spine, hands, shoulders & feet squared to the ball on tee
Anyone who looks like Hawkeye, I’m ready to listen.
I always t it lower when I’m not hitting it straight because I focus tighter
I go for a low tee with a driver and play like a 3 wood and.... the ball slices 2 fairways to the right
My choice is a white Castle tee and a 3 wood. Don’t use a driver and very happy with the 3 wood off the tee . Fairways for me are 5 or 7 wood or a 5 hybrid. 👍🇨🇦👨🦳
Without speed surely the white would barely get off the ground?
That’s why it’s the low one 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
@@AlexElliottGolf Aye - suspect mine might be knee height!!!
I tee mine higher than the orange tee 4 inches.
Why not use a 3 wood instead of “gear 3”?

Changing tee height IS NOT CHEATING.
Cheating is breaking rules of golf.

The close ups of the tees show that they aren't what you are recommending???????😂😂
Not a cheat if I have done this since returning to golf in 2019
