I did. Carried the shield 2.0 in .45acp since 2018. So does a buddy I had and both have pretty much been flawless. I think I now want one of the shield plus in 9mm as well. I like all the m&p guns.
My best friend has been telling me this for years. Do you know of a good place to search? I'm in San Antonio Texas, not sure if that matters but I appreciate any info on some good used gun websites. 👍
The Mossberg Maverick 88 was the gun I chose to purchase the day I turned 18. I've shot it a lot and never had a malfunction, its standard finish has stood up pretty well, new shooters I'm introducing to guns love it, and it did all that while being incredibly affordable. Perfect entry-level shotgun, I definitely support its inclusion here.
I have an ancient "Westernfield" M500A which is just a Mossberg 500 branded for the old Montgomery Ward store. When I got it it had a slug barrel and a field forend. I had to replace the action bars as they were bent and I got an old Mav 88 barrel that someone let the last 8 inches or so rust. I ordered a corncob fore end, the action bars and a replacement metal safety from Gun Parts corp. I chopped the old Mav barrel down to 18.5 inches (measured on the gun) with a pipe cutter, mounted the internal parts, put the corncob fore end on and refinished the original beat-to-crap wood stock. I think my total cost for the gun came out to less than $200 and it's built exactly the way I want it.
I bought two Palmetto State Armory 5.7 Rocks for $299 each last month. It’s unbelievable how well they designed and made them. They are definitely showing these huge manufacturers how it’s done.

If you’re wanting another one to add to this list, try out the STOEGER STR 9. Bought this gun and it works amazing. I have put in probably more than 3000 rounds in it. Still works amazing.
I recently bought one for 250, the plain-jane one from buds with 2 mags. I'm kicking myself for not buying it 5 years ago. If I had, I wouldn't have wasted money on the SD9 or the G3XL. The STR 9 is way better (IMO). I never carry less than a 4" barrel nowadays, so this handgun is perfect for me. It eats everything and never a FTF or FTE and rated for +P and +P+. Awesome weapon.
been dealing guns for 20+ years , the taurus g2 , g2c, g3, g3c models consistently top my list of best bang for the buck , price aside and with a little polishing on the ruff spots they make my top 10 list for pistols ever
My Dad bought me a Marlin Model 60 on my 11th birthday back in 1972. It quit working some years back (the hard plastic buffer cracked) but I got a hard rubber buffer replacement for a couple of dollars on-line and fixed it. 17+1 rounds of fun! It's in bedroom gun locker loaded up right now. I can't even guess how many thousands of rounds me and my boys have put through that thing. I can't hardly miss with it.
I have sig, I have cz's, I have some Taurus, Glocks, etc... I shoot the absolute best with my $450 canik. Canik is the best value for the money in my opinion. Those are some really nice guns with decent price tags .
@@b.arc.5118I am actually more wary of Turkey leaving NATO, and stopping the exports. Really good gun, not just for the price. Very well built, same quality in terms of materials as Glocks and Sig’s Polymer offerings for $200 less.

If you look inside the slide on the Security-380 and compare it to the original Security-9, you'll see they went ham on the mill work to reduce weight, far beyond just the cuts you see from the outside. It is noticeably lighter than the 9mm version, but still shoots a bit easier with the Diet-9.

This is a wide variety and cool list. My first ever pistol purchase was a Bersa Thunder 380 about 20+ years ago and I still have it. I've really enjoyed mine but it's definitely not in my carry rotation anymore. A bit heavy, but a reliable little gun.
I still carry mine sometimes but it's not very comfortable in an appendix holster but I like that its hammer fired and to me its safer because of that...
got mine @ $220 3 yrs ago.. Not my first with that brand and they have had some problems, but I will totally recommend that model for the price point. Glad you're happy with it
Gotta say, I'm really glad to see the Taurus G3c on here. It was the first pistol I had ever purchased, and I needed something after my daughter and I got threatened in our apartment parking lot. I was broke, but I spent so much time doing research, and it was your original review years ago that made me decide to get it. Luckily, I never saw the person who threatened us again, but I've since put well over 10,000 rounds through that Taurus, and still carry it to this day. I'm in a better spot financially now, and can afford a nicer gun, but I'm having a hard time letting her go. It strange the level of trust you give these inanimate objects
I bought the PT111 G2 when they came out and I love it. Bought a G3C when they came out and it's my carry gun. I've owned S&W, Ruger and a G19X, but I carry the G3C! Never had a Malfunction until I bought a Lakeline ported barrel...polished the feed ramp and no more malfunctions!
I have the Tisas 1911 m1a1in .45. Got it a couple of years ago. Rural King had them on sale for black friday. But by the time I got to the store they were sold out. I paid around $ 420 for it. I know it's over $300 but still cheaper than a Kimber or a Colt. That being said. It's been great. Sorry my comment is so long. Just wanted to let people know that they are a good deal for the money.
As some who has or had half this list I can confirm that the maverick 88 ,the 10 22 , canik tp sf, savage axis and S&w shield are amazing gongs for the price and I haven't had a problem out of a single one of them
For anyone that wants to know, on the hi point carbine, if you can get ahold of the lazer they used to sell at Walmart for paintball guns about 25 years ago, they will work on the barrel. Take off the front sights and slide it right on. It was really a tack driver at 50 yards
I've heard mixed reviews on the carry version. PSA had it on sale and was going to purchase but the salesman kept bashing it and telling me to look at reviews
@@ronenton4037 good to know. I think it's better to not listen to elitists or people with bigger budgets. I'm just a regular dude who enjoys weekend range time. I don't need all the bells and whistles. I just need a good ole reliable shooter

Dude, you are awesome, honest and provide excellent reviews. I began shooting, hunting and fishing with my dad at 7 year old and have experience in many types of these firearms so I understand many of the points you bring up in your reviews. Appearance does not mean a gun is good or worth the money. Good job, keep it up and let's all help the less fortunate!
I wasnt really on board with buying used guns but an old friend of mine made a good point. He said its better than buying used cars because you wont take the engine apart but you can easily take the gun apart and see any wear and tear on it.
I've bought alot of used Firearms. If I have problems I send them to the Factory for repairs. Most of them charge nothing for repair. And fix them like new. Especially Ruger. 😊
Can't go wrong with the Shield. If you have one of the older, single stack ones you can upgrade them with magguts, an Apex trigger and night sights. I have the Shield Plus and have had no need to put on aftermarket stuff. Great EDC right out of the box.
@@orangecrush5512 I have the original Shield and have fired tons of rounds through it and never had any issues. I have a couple of mags converted to 10 round mags using the MagGuts conversion kit and they work well though I cut myself both times putting the thin flat spring with razor sharp edges into the mag body, but overal they work well and give me an extra 2 rounds. The only thing I am not crazy about is that even after years of use the recoil spring is still stiff and heavy duty and makes racking less fun for my arthritic hands, but I love shooting it and I shoot it about the best of anything I own. I know HO mentioned he likes 147 Sig ammo, I have always used 124 gr and feel it hits the sweet spot between velocity and muzzle energy. Never had to put it to the test against anyone and hope it stays that way.
@@johnholcomn8560 Lots of trigger snobs out there and have helped create the 3rd party market for triggers. Some triggers are better than others but never had any stock trigger that prevented me from shooting accurately with some practice. Perhaps its like golf where when your game isn't going so well and you buy a new driver and then proclaim all is well until the newness wears off and you revert back to your original 23 handicap, then its time to go out and buy the next great driver to fix it all over again ...
I love my Taurus G3 honestly. Didn’t think id like it that much and the hype was REAL a few years ago but it actually lives up to it. A dope budget pistol.
My first shotgun was a Maverick 88, still love the gun. 3" chambering makes it a very flexible shotgun. I also own the 10/22, mine's the takedown version.
The only difference between the Mav 88 and the Mossberg 500 is the safety switch location and the internal parts of the 88 are made in Mexico. Everything else is the same, everything is interchangeable between both shotguns. I will rather have the safety by my trigger finger, instead that on top.
I love my G2C. Put night sights on it and a custom trigger and stainless rod. Never had a misfire. The extended 17rnd mag works great and you can get 32rnd mags, too.
i waited about 3 months for taurus to have the 17 round back in stock and i love the full sized grip. the only negative is after my first 200 at the range my hand was raw because of the frame right behind the safety smacking into my hand. so i took a sander to it and 600 rounds later i have no problems. the stainless guide rod is a must though but then mine was still under $300 and it is "custom"
@@ninelives874Why do people want a 30 rd mag for their handgun? How many times are you planning on missing? My G2c has the 12 rd in the mag well with a 15 rd on my belt. If I need anything more, I have my PC carbine with 4 17 rd and on 27 rd mag.

Heritage Pistols are consistently $99 to $120 for the base models. Some come with .22 mag cylinder also, so you get the ability to use 22 magnum, which is much better for defense. I personally love my Tisas PX-9 Gen 3 pistol. Big bang for buck. I got one with the case, (2) magazines, cleaning kit, holster, backstraps, removable flared magwell and it's optics ready for $265. Best deal IMO for a 9mm, Oh and it is threaded, although you have to shoot it single shot with a silencer.
The Rock Island .38 Revolvers are a great deal, especially considering the way that U.S. made revolvers are spiking in price. I own 2 Rugers and a S&W and a Uberti revolvers and a RIA .38 spl is next on my list. I also have 4 other Rock Island guns, and they're all just fine - No Issues, other than parts unavailability, but just buy a second gun for spare parts.
I got to admit I was always against shields and always carried Springfield Xd’s and XDS’s but after winning a shield Plus in a raffle it really blew me away and wish I would’ve gotten one way sooner! I love my shield plus and it has become my go to EDC! You’re spot on picking it as #1 for the list
I love my Maverick 88. I had one few years ago, and got a new one this year in the fde. A good thing about it is the 88 can use parts from the 500 series of guns
I just picked up a CZ P10C $305 shipped. Course there is a FFL fee, but an excellent deal. And there are many excellent deals out there if you take a second to look around.
Another favorite of mine is the Taurus TX22. Most semi-auto 22 pistols only have 10 or 12 round magazines. The TX22 has 16 round mags. Also mag extensions are available making them 21 round mags. The ergonomics are the best of about any pistol, decent trigger, and they run any ammo that I feed them. They are routinely $299.
@@Notagunfighter one of my 2 I got for $299 and it came with a free $300 suppressor. I just had to pay the tax stamp. It was a Black Friday deal last November. They are so great to shoot.
My Taurus PT22 is the smallest carry gun I have found with a grip that is big enough for my hand. It just slips into your pocket. And it was under $200.
The manual for the Rossi Brawler has a warning about shooting slugs. It states do not use slug ammunition and that slugs are unsafe in these guns. Most of the early reviews I have seen on the Brawler talk about running slugs, but for some reason it is not recommended by Rossi.
I cringe a little every time I see Garand Thumb putting Stingers through his Volquartsen pistol. The Volq warranty is voided if you put stingers through it (and yes, they can tell).
@@aronkovacs1386 It causes the pistol to break in a specific way, which is why they tell you not to shoot stingers in their pistols and why doing so voids the warranty.

As someone who’s first gun was a maverick 88 I agree it’s super fun to shoot and accurate also I have the carry cut, optics cut, threaded barrel version of the dagger compact and it’s also a great carry gun since I’m 19 and can only open carry here in az
I love my Hi-Point PCCs. I've never had an issue with factory mags or hi-cap mags from Red Ball. I just wish Red Ball made them for the 40 Cal. Aluminum rails are available at a reasonable price. These guns are heavy, ugly, accurate, reliable and fun.
I watched James at tfb do a 500? Round torture test on it and it had no hiccups. Then I just saw ANOTHER 500 rd test I can't remember which channel but ditto...no hiccups, unlike the Turkish guns that tfb tested. Not hating on Turkish I have a couple but man those mossbergs are the real deal.
Keep my maverick 88 an arm length away. My 5’2” 120 lb fiancé can handle it with buck shot and I showed her why it was important on a mini fridge when she saw the 4” hole out the back of the fridge she understood exactly why I was teaching her to use it. The 10/22 with 2-25 round mags red dot and laser right next to it😂
Great review and recommendations. I love my 10/22, the Hi-point 4595, and the 9mm S&W M&P Shield (pre-covid for $229). Additional thoughts: The wife loves the Heritage Barkeep w/ interchangeable cylinders. I've seen the SDS Tisas 1911 on sale for about $305 although I payed $333. The NAA 22MC can had on sale for under $300. Although there are better options out there, you won't find a more concealable revolver than the NAA-22MC (except the NAA-22s). Albeit it's only good as a last line of defense with some well placed shots it's still better than a sharp stick.
I have Glocks fully customized great guns but I really love the G3C ...I got a good one. Had a holster made bought a few 17 round mags. I can group tight one handed. I have a bad left shoulder so this has been my CC for a few months after feeding a few thousand rounds. Rail lube and cleaning is key to success. I also have a extar carbine. Had to replace the trigger put a red dot and light on it and you can't go wrong for 400
I was lucky enough to pick up an original shield when they were still $279 with rebates (locally, PA). It’s so much better than you would expect at that price, I have never had a malfunction in hundreds (1k+?) rounds.
Low budget self defense is absolutely valid self defense. I carry a Tisas PX-9. Absolutely love it. Paid $400. Would do it again too. Canik is another great lower budget Turkish manufacturer.
Appreciate you trashing the AI video firearm content. It’s lazy, obvious, and completely insulting to the viewers. Love your excellent work and effort.
Ivhad my Hi-point carbine for many years. I had some light strikes so I sent it in. They replaced a few things and I paid no money for shipping. Dropped it off at the local gun shop and they called me when it came back to them. I almost bought a 10/22 but the local shop had remmington 597 on sale for $135 with a scope. That was around 15yrs ago.
I have a tp9 sfx. It is 3 years old daily carried. Shot regular. I have about 20k through it. Competitions and classes. I love it and I use it to demonstrate the difference between a compact and full sized pistol.
I had to rewind the clip on the savage rifle barrel length comment "i got 22inches, but you can get them smaller, it depends what she likes". Or however you said it, pretty funny😂!
Bought a Tisas px9 gen3 a few months ago at a local gun shop for $286. Great shooting 9mm with 18&20 rd sig mags. Lots of extras and cycled 115 grn range loads flawlessly fresh out of the box.
I bought one too. The trigger, ergos and parts compatibility are so nice. I wanted a Canik TP9, but it had sold so got the PX-9 instead. Lots of people question why I got it because they've never heard of it, until they shoot it 😝
My first shotgun was an m88. It was kind of my project gun. I loved the walking dead and had it when the show was around season 2 where they were rocking the 590 police shotguns. I was essentially trying to turn it into one of those. That and my axis were about the coolest things i had at 14ish.
Gforce AR-12, came with 2 -5 round mags, I ran 160 rounds of 2 3/4" 00buck through mine the day I got it no issues. When I took it apart to clean it, found out it was made with Benelli parts, Got mine used for $250( looked brand new), they sell brand new for $299.99 from the factory. Stock is kinda long and is not adjustable, but worth the money.

Love my Brawler! Got a barrel insert adapter from Short Lane for .22LR to go with it and it is an absolutely awesome around-the-house/UTV gun. Don't care for he holster that Rossi has so I bought a different one that completely covers the barrel/front sight. WELL worth the money.
Tim, papa from the foothills of the blue ridge mountains in NC wishing you well Again bought a rossi brawler 45colt/ 410 a few months ago. I love the pistol hate the back sight .put a aim point red dot on it but don't like the red dot bouncing around, hard for this older man to hold still. it's well made, strong lockup, fair trigger pull.not shot factory ammunition as I reload all my centerline. it to my understanding has a tampered rifling similar to a gain twist barrel. all loads I cronygraphed and was disappointed at speeds. most loads were 145-199 fps slower than printed data. but not to be out done with 44years reloading knowledge and experience I knew this pistol could handle a lot more chamber pressure than the colt 45 14,000psi. the following test data is for educational purposes only. don't use it because it can cause serious bodly injuries or death to you or bystanders .I'm not responsible if anyone uses this this is my private tests and more to come. my last tests a few days ago I used new starline 45colt brass, cfe pistol powder. 250gr hunter supply lrn-hp bullets. 9.8 gr powder 870 fps, 420 ft/ lb. 10.0 gr powder 964fps,516ft/lb.. 10.2 gr powder 1034 fps,591 ft/lb. 10.6 gr powder 1094 fps ,664 ft/lb . 11.0 gr powder 1132fps,771 ft/ lb. No pressure signs. i might bump it to 1200fps.thats far as I go . I also shoot 45acp lower velocity 750- 800 fps 230 gr lrn reloads. easiest way to shoot 45acp in this single shot 45colt is I went to local harbor freight and bought a box of metric nitrile o rings ,different sizes. I use size 8x2mm and 8.8x1.9 o - rings slid to back of loaded rounds in rim groove. it keeps 45acp from falling down in barrel and hold it in place. action will be slightly tighter to shut but no problems as it compress the o-rings to fit.asfar as election, it spits the emptys out. this is a big plus for me being able to shoot 45colt, 45acp, 410 because of the ammunition situation .I hope this educational information is of value to you. remember I'm not responsible for anyone using this educational purposes information. Papa 😊
@@johnnymccann5607- I'm just curious, but would a 45 Auto Rim work? As an owner of a S&W 1917, I've used both ACP and Auto Rim, and I've been reloading since '78.
@patrickstone4125 honestly I don't know. the case head thicker on the 45 auto rim than 45colt. try and see if it fits shuts action good and don't fall down the barrel, and if ejector kicks it out is probably will work. I don't know anyone around me with 45 auto rim ammunition or I would get a shell and try it my self. it would be a big plus to be able to shoot 45colt, 410 ,45acp, 45 anto rim in same gun. papa wishing you well
I bought my wife the M&P in 30 super carry. She absolutely loves it shot several hundred rounds already. If you cant handle 9mm the 30 super is a great option and I highly recommend it.
I am a M&P shield and S&W Compact advocate all day! Everyone swears by Glock and thats coo, they are very smooth shooters and very reliable but for the price, look and reliability im going Smith and Wesson for the rest of my days I had the shield 40, the shield 9, M&P 40c and M&P 9c 2.0
Cool list. Not a lot of bad on there. I have a PSA dagger and love it. Their customer service is unheard of too. In my opinion I'd carry that over the shield just for the extra rounds and the glock gen 3 parts interchangeability. But the shield plus is definitely better if you enjoy concealing better. I don't mind printing a little and I intend on keeping my dagger for winter carry and eventually either getting the dagger micro when it releases or maybe a cz p10s or canik mc9 depending on how they look in a year or two.

If you’re wanting another one to add to this list, try out the STOEGER STR 9. Bought this gun and it works amazing. I have put in probably more than 3000 rounds in it. Still works amazing.
How would you rate the trigger on that? I've seen a couple at my range, they've piqued my curiosity. Read decent things online, too
Yup - I'll second that. Nice pistola. Great trigger - I actually like the trigger better than my G19
I've had some really bad Taurus Hand Guns and months to be repaired. 😮
My Hillbilly sniper rifle was a Marlin Model 60 which was purchased for $69 for my 10th birthday. This was my first gun and I still have it.
Was gifted mine as a young teenager. Mid 50's now. Still have it, still love it.
Mine was a Glenfield 75...my dad bought it for me about 2 months after I was born...still have it. Love the old Marlins and was sad to see them go.
I have my step dads from when he was younger unfortunately he usedit to un alive himself but i still hold on to it
My Dad bought me a Marlin Model 60 on my 11th birthday back in 1972.
Dad bought me one 31 years ago I was 14, came from Walmart, still have it, those 60's are deadly accurate.
As a poor with guns I approve this video. I can confirm Caniks, Mossbergs, and Savages are amazing value for the price.
I have sig, I have cz's, I have some Taurus, Glocks, etc... I shoot the absolute best with my $450 canik. Canik is the best value for the money in my opinion. Those are some really nice guns with decent price tags .
Amen
Agreed.
Now is the time to buy one, because they’re still flying under the radar, and they will increase in price as they gain popularity.
It really is amazing how much gun you get for the money.
@@b.arc.5118I am actually more wary of Turkey leaving NATO, and stopping the exports. Really good gun, not just for the price. Very well built, same quality in terms of materials as Glocks and Sig’s Polymer offerings for $200 less.
Just got a tp9 elite sc as my first 9mm, most likely going s&w shield plus as my first micro, maybe the mete mc9
I never thought I would say this... But the G2 and G3 are great pistols!
The G3 was my first semi auto and was pleased with it. I am wheel gun shooter since childhood.
I really really appreciate your consistency in making current videos with up to date budget firearms. By far one of the best firearms channels on youtube.
If you look inside the slide on the Security-380 and compare it to the original Security-9, you'll see they went ham on the mill work to reduce weight, far beyond just the cuts you see from the outside. It is noticeably lighter than the 9mm version, but still shoots a bit easier with the Diet-9.
HP 995: If you mount a red dot in place of the factory sight where the rail is screwed down, it works well and holds zero within reason.😊
I'm from Alaska. Our Polar Bears have moved on from meth to fentanyl unfortunately. They're a real problem here.
Never lived around polar bears but to be honest I think I would prefer a sleeping polar bear to a wired polar bear. Another term instead of wired could be woke and if polar bears are anything like humans the "woke" ones would be the worst!
Bbummer man!
That sucks. I'm 80 yrs old Alaskan born and down in the NW States cause of bad health. ( Really bad short term) been home Sick but dam sure don't want to See Alaska turned to shit like the rest of the toilet called America. I'm an Alaskan.😢😢😢 Dandahermit
Maybe we can pass a bill to send a few million dollars to help you feel better. Hurry, before Kamala is gone !!
Do they nod out in the middle of crosswalks while dragging their foreheads on the ground?
Incredible. If you are as honest as you say you are, then you're doing a lot of people a great service.
I bought a g2C during Covid and I have 0 complaints regarding it. The only complaint I can probably make is I wish the grip was about 7mm longer for my pinky.
Still carry a Combat Plus. Easy to be accurate with.
I have a Combat Plus version and honestly it's my current favorite carry pistol.
I have an older pre-lock thunder 380 , unknown round count, still reliable
It's cheap, solid, and reliable, great for the price!
Bought a G3C after watching your review a while back. No regrets. The G3C at $269 is one of the best bargains out there.
got mine @ $220 3 yrs ago.. Not my first with that brand and they have had some problems, but I will totally recommend that model for the price point. Glad you're happy with it
Where did you buy it from?
Newington Gun Exchange in Ct.
Got My G3C 40 For Free Because Of The Old 40 They Said They Didn't Have Parts For It So Taurus Sent Me One For Free
Respectable list.
Battlehawk has the shield9 2.0 with night sights for 299 right now.
Hell of a deal.
I wouldn't buy from them if I were you. I read enough negative experiences with them to get the feeling that I should steer clear.
Went to my local pawn/gun shop, had a BRAND NEW Taurus 856 defender for $226, FREAKING HALF OFF. Put that thing on layaway asap
@@Osprey1994 I've bought a ton of stuff from Battlehawk with no issues, guns and other accessories. Do you have any personal experiences with them?
Battle hawk is good to go. I like them
Link? I see 399
Gotta say, I'm really glad to see the Taurus G3c on here.
Never hurts to add to the collection, but no reason to let'er go. Love a good gun.
I started with the g2c aswell I love that pistol
10000 rounds?
KEEP IT
I actually still have the first Gen pt111, it is very reliable. I want a g3 now.
The Tisas 1911 is being sold for new $299 occasionally.
Used LEO trade Glock 22s and 23s are often under $300.
@@richardvaughan3088- I'd still prefer a Taurus 1911. Awesome deal for the money. Just saying.
Simple correction 00Buck are .32 cal not .45. Absolutely devastating. Great list. Keep up the good work.
@@waynerichards6439 - even 000 buck, only goes to .36 caliber
My first gun was a used taures .38 special, 20 + years ago, still got it. Now I have a few Taurus’s in my collection 👍🏻
My first was a PT908, in '01. I've had 11 total in the last 20+ years, but only retained the 908 and it's big brother the 945, and a 856 revolver.
Two Rugers and an honorable mention, I am happy with this list.
But I did see a few to consider.
Honorable mention, Ive seen the heritage revolvers new for $99.00 better than any sharp stick
Yeah, ours runs just fine...cheap plinking is fun...
6 for sure, we used to say....
Recently picked up 2 FN hi powers (1986 and 1949) for $200 each from a closing pawn shop. Good deals still exist.
That's a damn good deal!!
I had a Mossberg 500 combo in the Navy in San Diego mid 80s. 1st gun ever purchased.
Can confirm that the Ruger Security series is a GREAT value. Lots of gun for the money.
Great list. The Beretta AXP A1 both standard and Carry version can be had for $300. Hard not to go with those guns.
I've heard mixed reviews on the carry version. PSA had it on sale and was going to purchase but the salesman kept bashing it and telling me to look at reviews
@@meancheetoi bought it from the PSA sale. A1 Carry was $230 plus $50 rebate. Has been reliable with fmj about 300rds. No hollowpoint testing yet.
@@ronenton4037 good to know. I think it's better to not listen to elitists or people with bigger budgets. I'm just a regular dude who enjoys weekend range time. I don't need all the bells and whistles. I just need a good ole reliable shooter
Very nice!
@@ronenton4037that's awesome! Quite the steal
I've had my Maverick 88 since they were $188! It always works, and I have never had an issue with it.
Yes sir, back then an 870 was $300, 😆
That's exactly what I paid. It's loaded and ready to go right now.
@@SaintZombie1 👍
Great list for those on a budget. I have had 3 hi-point carbines and I loved each of them. Only reason I don't have them is because my friends wanted them after I let them shoot and made me offers I couldn't refuse!
Still carrying my g2c and love it
Dude, you are awesome, honest and provide excellent reviews.
Well the value of cars tend to go down and the value of guns tends to go up. So a smarter investment
You are such a kind and real person brother. Thank you for giving us this great content. God bless you and your family. With love from Texas.
I have 6 shotguns, and my maverick is by far my favorite. Love that thing
I actually bought a G3c for my wife and it’s a really good firearm
Recommend a review on the Tokarev TX3 12HD A1. Sub $300 or less including the mag tube extension. Similar to a Mossberg 590 pump shotgun.
The man, the myth, the legend!!!! The best advice you can find on UA-cam!!!
Can't go wrong with the Shield. If you have one of the older, single stack ones you can upgrade them with magguts, an Apex trigger and night sights. I have the Shield Plus and have had no need to put on aftermarket stuff. Great EDC right out of the box.
The sights are the same on the original and plus
Thanks for the heads-up about MagGuts! Just bought one to try our for my Shield.
Stock trigger is fine.
I think I shoot my G3 better than any of my other handguns to be honest.
Can u get it w threaded barrel?
LOVE MY G3X
@@dgunearthed7859 The G3 tactica has a threaded barrel. It costs more but still not terribly expensive.
@@kylejohnson1308- Lakeline offers after market barrels and parts. Check 'em out.
A note on the Wrangler: There is now a "Super" Wrangler with LR and Magnum cylinders and adjustable sights.
What matters is the value we've created in our lives, the people we've made happy and how much we've grown as people.
My first shotgun was a Maverick 88, still love the gun. 3" chambering makes it a very flexible shotgun.
I also own the 10/22, mine's the takedown version.
My maverick 88 was the first gun I bought. Still have it and still love it for a cheap shotgun
I love my 88, too! Eats whatever I feed it, and looks great, to boot!
My first gun as well. Still have it.
Same I got a grip and a 15 round mag never had no misfire but I have had 1 jam with the 3o mag so I just keep the 15 on for everyday carry
@@ninelives874Why do people want a 30 rd mag for their handgun? How many times are you planning on missing?
My G2c has the 12 rd in the mag well with a 15 rd on my belt. If I need anything more, I have my PC carbine with 4 17 rd and on 27 rd mag.

@@kennethcurtis1856 Here’s who thinks they need more than a 20-round magazine:

Or go with a Rossi, also owned by Taurus. I'm not against RI, but parts supply shouldn't be an issue. (IMO).
Got my Compact for $240. Love it
@@Notagunfighter one of my 2 I got for $299 and it came with a free $300 suppressor. I just had to pay the tax stamp. It was a Black Friday deal last November. They are so great to shoot.
My Taurus PT22 is the smallest carry gun I have found with a grip that is big enough for my hand. It just slips into your pocket. And it was under $200.
Thanks for that info. I think I will scoop me one up
I have 2 TX22's and wish they'd make a TX22 Magnum.
The ruger security 380 actually comes with 15 round mag and a 10 you can’t beat that
Got 4 different versions of the tp9sf...love them!
@@MrMagnanimanhow?
@@aronkovacs1386 It causes the pistol to break in a specific way, which is why they tell you not to shoot stingers in their pistols and why doing so voids the warranty.
I’ll always appreciate you for doing the review on the fns9c. Couple weeks after I watched it I saw one for $300 and grabbed it and it’s become my favorite compact that I own. Thanks for your videos
As someone who’s first gun was a maverick 88 I agree it’s super fun to shoot and accurate also I have the carry cut, optics cut, threaded barrel version of the dagger compact and it’s also a great carry gun since I’m 19 and can only open carry here in az
Been carrying the G3C for a couple years now. Love everything about it.
Where can I get one
Always a pleasure sir!!! Thanks for the in-depth explanation.
The Mav 88 is so good for the price. Absolutely worth every penny.
I watched James at tfb do a 500? Round torture test on it and it had no hiccups. Then I just saw ANOTHER 500 rd test I can't remember which channel but ditto...no hiccups, unlike the Turkish guns that tfb tested. Not hating on Turkish
I have a couple but man those mossbergs are the real deal.
Plus there’s a good aftermarket to add whatever you’d like to it to make it better for yourself.
I have had grate luck with my Lugar Highpoint , keep it clean and lubed and it fires grate. I have never had a malfunction. .
Once the Outlaw tax is applied, these will no longer be near $300 😅
This guy is the reason I went out and bought a Canik, and I absolutely love it

I recently saw the Arex Delta gen 2 (non-optics) version for $299. And there was a promotion that included 5 mags total.
Hi… Where did you see this? I need help getting one
the security 380 comes with 1 10rnd mag, and 1 15rnd in free states.
That's pretty good. 😊
I own a S&W EZ shield (380) and I have no complaints. Got it used from an old coworker with 5 mags and 500 rounds for 400 bucks.
Taurus G3C is a great edc for the money!
A Wrangler is the perfect companion to any semiautomatic .22; any ammo that fails to feed in the semi gets set aside for the revolver.

It’s over three hundred dollars last time I priced, in my area there is a range that has Tex-22 shooting league kinda like a bowling league 😂
I genuinely love my ruger security 9, I got it $285 NIB came with 2 15rnd mags too. Ruger EC9S isn’t too bad either lol
I currently have a Security 380 that I traded a PDP for, I like the Security 380 so much, I probably wouldn't have it if I bought the Security-9 instead of the PDP
TX 22. I am well over 2000 rounds and zero malfunctions! Blazer 22 ammo too. Cheap!
Every Rossi I’ve ever owned was cheap, very very reliable, accurate and good looking.
I owned the g3c before, it was a great little pistol, except for sometimes it didn't want to go into battery when dropping the slide on a fresh loaded magazine

Again bought a rossi brawler 45colt/ 410 a few months ago.
I don't know anyone around me with 45 auto rim ammunition or I would get a shell and try it my self. it would be a big plus to be able to shoot 45colt, 410 ,45acp, 45 anto rim in same gun. papa wishing you well
@@johnnymccann5607 , I initially thought that- but you mentioned o-rings. Just a thought.
They didn't have one for 22 magnum?
I bought my wife the M&P in 30 super carry. She absolutely loves it shot several hundred rounds already. If you cant handle 9mm the 30 super is a great option and I highly recommend it.
Thanks! Been curious about this caliber.
The Taurus 605 (5-shot .357 Magnum) used to be under $300.....and I carry mine all the time.
I love mine.
I love my dagger and g3c just upgraded the g3c to a t.o.r.o. very happy with both.
The mossberg Maverick 88 is easily the best option on this list.
