I used to watch "Wayne's World" skits on SNL before this movie came out. They were quite popular skits. Dana Carvey was the king of SNL in my mind. I think this is a major reason why "Bohemian Rhapsody" had such a resurgence. Random fact: I think a vacuum hair cutter was a real and viable product you could buy.
Yes. There briefly were TV adverts for the "Flow-bee" vacuum hair-cutter a short time before this movie came out. Often the butt of jokes. There were numerous varied commercial mockeries in this movie, some of which may not be recognizable by younger folks.
This movie is actually responsible for how big Bohemian Rhapsody is today. It wasn't as remembered and didn't get the big airplay because of it's length. Then this movie had that scene in it and the song outperformed it's original release in the U.S. charts. Brought it to an all new generation.
In the UK it was still very well-remembered and had gone to number one a second time following Freddie Mercury’s untimely death, a few months before the release of Wayne’s World. According to Brian May, Freddie saw the scene from the movie because Mike Myers sent over a tape, and he loved it. Mike Myers also threatened to quit the movie if they didn’t use Bohemian Rhapsody - the studio wanted a more contemporary track by a band like Guns N Roses, but Myers insisted. Party on!
This was such a fun reaction. Seeing Jen realise that she and Garth are probably related in some way was hilarious. :D And I really loved how happy you were at the Terminator reference.
Jen, the graphics you add to your reactions are soooo top tier! ( wheeez warning, wisdom Nuggets) your content is the absolute best around! I do love how your channel has grown and progressed. Thank you for your dedication and effort...always here...Eric
@@tomhoffman4330 What can I say...this is my absolute favorite UA-cam channel! And she deserves all the praise! And if that is ' sucking up ' so be it.
I saw this in the theaters when it came out. I was in college, and my roommate and friends and I were Queen fans. When the Bohemian Rhapsody scene came on, we sort of started singing along. These younger kids (like 13 or 14 years old) sitting in front of us kept looking back at us. And I heard one of them say, "How do they know this? This movie's brand new."
The "get the net" reference was a pretty old one even in 92. It comes from the image of sanitarium workers capturing crazy people with a net (similar to how you would capture butterflies). I think from a comedic perspective it might date back to the silent film era When people ask me my favorite movie, I general give fav drama, etc and I say this is my favorite movie that was filmed in only 34 days.
Jen your 90's twin Dana Carvey is actually a very good drummer. This was originally a recurring skit on SNL and was in my opinion the second best movie to originate from a SNL skit, the best being the Blues Brothers from the original cast.
Ed O'Neill played the diner owner, he's best known for playing a character on tv called Al Bundy, from "Married with Children", also starred Katy Sagal who was in "Sons of Anarchy", theuir are some great clips of Al's best insults and other on You Tube, also the doorman was none other than the singer Meat Loaf, R.I.P.
"We are not worthy!" Classic 90's comedy, filled with many notable zingers and one liners. And of course, who could forget the iconic singalong to "Bohemian Rhapsody", complete with head bops?!
Thank you for watching Wayne's World 🌎 Jen. It's my all-time favorite movie. It's an easily quotable movie and silly as it fits on the time period it was made in. I have a lot of merchandise and collectibles related to the movie. It's one of my most watched films to this day even. I'm excited to watch your reaction.
@@jenmurrayxo You are now obligated to do the head bop thing in your car any time Bohemian Rhapsody comes on the radio. Especially if there's anyone else in the car with you.
Jen's World 🤩 You relating to Garth so much was the best part of this. 🤣 Jen, you're so endearing. I love watching you having a good time, especially laughing. 😃
1. Tia Carrera/Cassandra sang all of her songs, and she also has a Grammy for singing and voice over work. 2. It's weird seeing Rob Lowe as a heavy. 3. Brian Doyle Murry is Bill Murry's brother and has been in a ton of movie/tv including two of the Vacation movies. 4. Vincent Fournier/Alice Cooper is a historian, so he loved playing in this thing. 5. He is also a surprisingly good golfer and I've had the privilege of seeing him twice 😎😁 6. Who doesn't love Al Bundy/Ed O'Neil? 7. A 1978 stoner's film you will like is Cheech & Chong, "Up in Smoke". 😎😎
I've had the opportunity to meet quite a few celebrities in my life, but my all time favorite celeb sighting was Tony Danza in NYC. He's walking down the sidewalk and an old lady who clearly had no idea who he was asked him for directions, and without missing a beat, in a perfect NY accent he says "2 blocks this way, go left 3 blocks, and bada-boom you're there." and then continues on his way.
Fun fact - Stan Mikita's Donuts, the fictional donut shop, is an homage to Tim Hortons. Both Mikita and Horton were real life NHL hockey legends of the same era. Horton played for the Toronto Maple Leafs when he launched his first donut shop, while Mikita played for the Chicago Black Hawks.
Dude, I was like 14 when this came out, and we could not get enough of it. You couldn't go anywhere or do anything without constantly hearing "Shwing!"
Even more nineties-esque, and my favorite Mike Myers movie- So I married an Axe Murderer. The first five minutes reminds me of so many clubs I was in during the nineties. Slam poetry, coffee houses. The whole bit.
Jen, your reaction was exactly like mine and the entire audience when I saw this movie when it was released. The crowd laughed uproariously throughout. It was the best time I ever had in a movie theater.
Another note...Dana Carvey, Garth, is actually a very talented drummer and was indeed playing in the movie. He is also famous on SNL for his Church Lady skits...along with the original Wayne's World.
A movie that nobody else has reacted to and is also a true cult classic, Heavy Metal... It's animated but has John Candy as a main voice character. It's a trip, be prepared 😉
Hey Jen... 1) Freddie Mercury gave his permission to use "Bohemian Rhapsody" in the film, after seeing the scene and loving it. It was shortly before he died. 2) The Dream Woman was played by Donna Dixon. She got her big break in the same sitcom as Tom Hanks in the early 1980s, 'Bosum Buddies'. She played Hanks's love interest. She is married to Dan Ackroyd (Ghostbusters) in real life. 3) This film gave Rob Lowe (Benjamin) his first real break into comedy and started a really close friendship with Mike Myers. In fact, he got his role in the 'Austin Powers' films because of an impression Lowe did during a golf game. He appears in the second and third 'Austin Powers' movies. 4) Tia Carrera (Cassandra) had a syndicated TV series and did a lot of movies in the 80s through the early 2000s. 5) The first bouncer that Wayne and Garth talked to before they see Cassandra was the late great Michael Lee Aday aka Meat Loaf! One of the best hard rock/metal singers of all time, whose 'Bat Out Of Hell' albums were HUGE sellers. He also did all sorts of movies like 'Fight Club' (as Bob) and 'The Rocky Horror Picture Show' (as Eddie, a role he created onstage). 6) I actually can say that Alice Cooper is a really sweet guy, who I was on a first-name basis with in the early 2000s as he was constantly in the bookstore I worked at. He has quite a few major hits..."School's Out", "Feed My Frankenstein" (which is in the movie), "Poison", and "No More Mr. Nice Guy". He is actually a lot like he is in the backstage scene in real life. 7) Some of the Saturday Night Live 'Wayne's World" skits are worthwhile...they were extremely popular. I would also suggest doing a deep dive into Dana Carvey's work on SNL...especially The Church Lady and his George H.W. Bush characters...The guy is brilliant.
"Get the net!" That's Wayne's own expression, interpreted to mean, call the men in white coats and butterfly nets to come and take her away to the mental hospital.
Wayne's Worls started as a reoccurring skit on Saturday Night Live. It was one of the few SNL crossovers that was really successful. Happy to see you're reacting to the Austin Powers films. You've seen enough of Bond to spot all references, I'm sure.
@@Tr0nzoid it was appealing enough to be at the top of the box office for a time. It the most popular SNL film, next to The Blues Brothers, They were the only two that had sequels
Was in high school when this came out. Our small town, chock full of teen alcoholics for lack of much to do, still had a big drive-in theater. We usually often went there on the weekends when there was no pre-planned party in the boonies, to hang out near the back rows and impromptu party. This was one of the few movies we all watched completely through as opposed to yammering with each other. Laughs (and buzzes) were had.
Not only my introduction to Meyers in movies but also a totally rad connection to my childhood. That Mirthmobile scene driving by all those streets and bus stops are the same ones i used everyday as a kid till 8th grade. Wayne and the gang cruisin my hood was surreal and made me an instant Meyers fan for life... Zang! :D
I loved this movie growing up. I had both Waynes World movies on VHS and wore out both tapes. I was fortunate to grow up near the Carowinds theme park where they had a small section of the park with a Wayne's World theme. They recreated the guitar shop building which was a gift shop inside, Stan Mikita's, Garth's car, and had a roller coaster called The Hurler. The roller coaster is the only thing left at the park after Paramount sold the park. I rode it 2 years ago the last time I went to the park. Also, you should totally react to Police Academy which is another childhood favorite.
Yeah that was sad when they took the coffee shop and stuff down, haven't been there in a long time but also rode The Hurler before they took that down too. Good times.
Hey Hey there Jen Murray. This was a sketch on Saturday Night Live. Seeing in the theater was Awesome. Big Laughs. Love your reaction, as always. Have a good night. 😉👌
You know, I was here for Jen's great reaction (great reaction, Jen!), but I think my personal MVPs are E.D. 209 and Tom Hoffman being so polite with their teasing each other...
Someone noticed me...I'M NOT WORTHY! I'M NOT WORTHY! Thanks Carolyn, your comment is just too cool!😊 I'll be looking for you in the comments from now on 😊
My dad has a picture from when he was in high school of him and his friends. He showed it to me the first time I saw this movie. They are all in flannel and band t-shirts, with torn jeans and hair down past their shoulders and everything, and they're standing in front of his car which looks almost exactly like Wayne's car in this movie (It was a Pontiac T-1000, which I will never forget. Thanks Terminator 2 🤣). Seriously they could be stand-ins for Wayne, Garth and their crew. He claims that they even pulled up next to a limo and did the Grey Poupon gag (as he tells it, the guy in the limo started laughing. The girl in there was not amused). I feel like I will never have those kinds of nostalgic stories to tell. When I was the age my dad was in that picture, the whole country was shut down due to Covid. ☹
Dana Carvey based Garth in his brother, who he maintains is the kind of guy who could disassemble a toaster and turn it into a computer. Also, that is really him playing the drums, Dana is a pretty good drummer. Edit: yes, “Feed My Frankenstein” is a real song by Alice Cooper. He has other good songs, probably best known for “School’s Out.”
Before it was made into a movie, Wayne's World was a popular recurring skit on Saturday Night Live. The premise was "Wayne's World" was a show on local Public Access television. Back in the days before the internet, to make a TV show and get it broadcast (locally) you could put it on public access TV. It's so weird that now we have UA-cam and people are putting their own videos out there for the whole world to watch!
Loved this movie. and the time period. Miss the 80s and the 90s. I was in college at the time taking set and stage design courses. My mother worked in the industry and her best friend was the script supervisor on the movie. She got me on the set of the donut shop every day after school. The foxy bit took hours to shoot because everybody kept laughing. One of the funniest weeks I've ever had. Dana Carvey was SOOO cool. So was Ed O'Neil.
The babe certainly was in a 90's TV show by the name of "Relic Hunter", where she played a character that was much like Lara Croft, aka a female Indiana Jones. And yes, she was the bad girl in "True Lies" too! As for checking out "Police Academy", I'm sure that you'd highly enjoy it! 😆
Such nostalgia! I rewatched this movie countless times. You made a comment about being at the club and waiting in line for the bathroom, when you used to go. The way that sentence hit me, for a second I questioned your ability to perpetually hold it in. Anyway, see you on the next one!
15:57: So I was raised on this movie and grew up in Canada and it wasn't until I went to Hong Kong in 2011 that I got the joke here. The difference between Kowloon Bay and Hong Kong proper is literally like a 10 minute slowboat door to door. Meaning you'd have to be like AI to detect the difference in accent, if any.
TV channels used to be independent businesses. What would they show? They might become a 'network affiliate' and pay for NBC/CBS/ABC content to air on their channel. But if they couldn't afford the 'rich' stuff, they had to make do with their own stuff. Someone got the bright idea to open the studio up to the public. They called it Public Access TV. "Come on in, write your name on the schedule and show up on time, do whatever you want." This is how Mystery Science Theater 3000 got it's start, by the way, KTMA channel 13 in Minneapolis needed to fill time so Joel was paid $40 a show to run zero-dollar movies and just make jokes about it on camera. Another good movie about the old days of TV, 'UHF' with Weird Al Yankovic. And for more Chris Farley, it has to be 'Tommy Boy'.
10:22 I think this scene is in reference to a street-hockey set-up that was advertised, once upon a time, as being _incredibly_ versatile. The commercial had a group of kids playing hockey, in the street, using this set, and then one of them called out, "Car!" Well, they all immediately stopped playing hockey, grabbed the puck, their sticks, and the net and moved them aside while the car drove on through. Then they put the net back where it had been and called "Game on!" and resumed the game. Then one of them called out, "Motorcycle gang!" Well, they all immediately stopped what they were doing, grabbed their sticks, the puck, the net, moved them out of the way until the motorcycle gang drove through, then put the net back where it had been and called "Game on!" and the game resumed. Then one of them called out, "Parade!" Well, they all immediately stopped what they were doing, grabbed their sticks, the puck and the net, moved them out of the way until this parade finished marching through, then put the net back where it had been and called "Game on!" and the game resumed. Now, all this has been interspersed with an announcer, providing us with key information about the product, and at _this_ point, the screen goes black to display some print about the product and we hear them call out with _particular_ urgency, _"Stampede!"_
90s wacky? Well, Wayne's World 2 certainly carries on this fine tradition, and if you don't mind a generous dose of stupid along with it, Chris Farley and Matthew Perry in "Almost Heroes" is close to my heart. And at risk of repeating myself, "Mystery Men" fits snugly in this category.
I can still remember seeing this film in the theater as a kid and the whole room was laughing all the way through the entire movie. It was such a great cinematic experience at the time. I can see why it's become such a comedy classic over the past 30 years. I loved your reaction to this movie and hope to see your reaction to the sequel if you get to watch it sometime! 😀
The sales guy that helped Wayne in the music store was Dana Strum, the bass player for Vinnie Vincent Invasion and the huge hair-metal band Slaughter. 🤘🤘 Yes, that is a real Alice Cooper song called "Feed My Frankenstein". It has guitar work, and even a duel, between the guitar legends Joe Satriani and Steve Vai. It's also master vs. student! 🎸🎸🔥
Wayne’s World was a Saturday Night Live skit. You can probably find a lot of the Wayne’s World skits here on UA-cam Mike Myers got the film company to have Queen Bohemian Rhapsody. The company wanted another song. Mike told them if they didn’t put Bohemian Rhapsody in the film he is going to quit making the film. Mike Myers was also in the movie Bohemian Rhapsody.
Canada trivia: Mike Myers first did the character of Wayne Campbell on the CBC, as a metal head kid from Scarborough. The name "Wayne Campbell" was just the most Canadian name he could think of. Later, when Myers moved from Second City Toronto to Second City Chicago (and then on to SNL), he noticed that Americans seemed to dislike things not being American so he changed Wayne to be from the Chicago suburb of Aurora as there was also an Aurora near Toronto.
This movie singlehandedly brought Bohemian Rhapsonty (and Queen) back into the public consciousnes... not only that, but in 1992, it got to #2 on the US Hot 100... and it was over a decade old at that point. That pretty much never happens. It also accidentally coincided with Freddy Mercury's death and the star studded Queen tribute concert.. so Queen became a huge deal again in 1992.
I WAS going to get some sleep, but then this popped up and I knew I had to watch it right away! Party on. Jen! It was such a good time, watching you having a good time with two of my best buds 😁 Roll on Wayne’s World 2!
On the states as cable television became a huge and necessary industry the government passed legislation that the local cable companies provide training and access to regular folks to produce and air there own general interest tv shows known as Public Access television, which is the premise of Wayne's World.
This movie is basically a love letter to Canada, Scarborough and Tim Hortons aka Stan Mikitas Donuts in the movie. "car!" Also Meatloaf is the bouncer at the Gasworks club (the sign you couldn't read)
Had this on VHS growing up. This was around the time SNL skits were being made into movies. Coneheads, Superstar, Ladies Man, Night at the Roxbury, Blues Brothers, It's Pat.
I live in Milwaukee, born and raised, and Alice Cooper's cameo is BELOVED by me and my fellow Milwaukeeans. He's spot-on about our cultural history and those cool pop art Milwaukee neighborhood posters hanging in his concert dressing room are iconic wall hangings in any Milwaukee Den, Man-Cave or Rec Room. Enjoy!
they’re tv show was actually a routine skit on Saturday Night Live. That was the origin of the characters. Only a few skits have become movies: Blues Brothers, A Night at the Roxbury, Coneheads, It’s Pat, Stuart Saves His Family, The Love Man (?). I think I’m forgetting some.
Before the Internet and podcasts, there was this thing called “public access television,“ or “local access television.“ Cable companies would provide (by law) a channel to be used by people in the area. It was usually on channel 3 (same channel is PBS) in my area. They were corny, low budget shows that usually aired when when nothing else was on. Most of it was junk, but there were a few gems that came out of it. Wayne’s World originated as a sketch on Saturday night live which often used the public access television show as the basis of a skit.
Dana Carvey (Garth) is an accomplished drummer. So, yeah that was him really playing. Also, the blonde who Garth liked is actress Donna Dixon who was also the object of Tom Hanks' affection in his first (and only) tv series, Busom Buddies. She later married Dan Aykroyd after they met while filming the film, Doctor Detroit.
Jen, yes Tia Carrere was in True Lies. Another movie she did just a year or so after this one you should watch is Rising Sun that stars Wesley Snipes and Sean Connery. It has to do with a murder investigation that takes place within an American based Japanese corporate headquarters.
10:27 Sorry but this was the states too. We played in the street every day when I was a kid, whether it was hockey or basketball or freeze tag and similar games.
In one of the SNL sketches of this, it has Aerosmith playing the Wayne's World theme with Wayne and Garth. The band also made a cameo in the sequel that came out a couple of years after this. Also, instead of Rob Lowe, Christopher Walken is in it. Tia Carrere returns as Cassandra as well.
Chris Farley not in Happy Gilmore, but great angry bus driver in Billy Madison. When this was popular, my cousins were hosting foreign exchange students from Spain, and they spoke very little English. But, the way they're walk around saying "Schwing" and "Not" is a core memory. Thank you for the reminder!
Popping in to echo your love for Garth, he’s my favorite. :D Also, my friends and I used the “CAR!… Game on!” Line So. Many. Times. We were very fond of using sidewalk chalk on streets, so it was necessary. 😂
Saw this in theatres when I was 12. Never saw the sketches, probably didn't even know what Saturday Night Live was. I know half the jokes must have flown over my head, but man, did me and my friends have a helluva good time
Tia Carrere, my most consistent fantasy woman, has sadly not made many movies quite as awesome as she is herself. Wayne's World 1 and 2 plus True Lies is pretty much the height of her career. She's also in Rising Sun (weird movie, it stars Sean Connery and Wesley Snipes and yet it drags a lot, not as much action as you would hope for), Jury Duty (a Pauly Shore comedy, a dream sequence with Tia is pretty much the high point), Hollow Point (an alleged crime drama plus romantic comedy, yet neither story really works). She does play a cool villain in a Conan the Barbarian knockoff called Kull the Conqueror. I've never seen her Lilo and Stitch movies. But you called it -- she did star in a variation on Tomb Raider, the TV show Relic Hunter, a lot of good clean fun. My favorite Mike Myers movies is probably the first Austin Powers.
My favorite Canadian teen show caught Tia at a red carpet event and yelled out, "Tia! Tia! We always watch Relic Hunter with the sound off, what's it about!?" which just got a laugh out of her as she walked by. Your comment reminded me of that clip.
@@danhalstead705 Mmm ... IMDb is chalking her up as two different characters, although both times she is a martial artist. In "The Wish Child," her "Lisa Chan" gets one moment to beat MacGyver in karate practice, but that seems to be about it. As "Tiu" in "Murderers' Sky," however, she evidently looks really great using her skills to carry out a crime.
I feel like these days people don't quite get how big and popular certain SNL sketches were back in their time. It wasn't just, "Oh they're redoing that sketch that was funny." It was more like "Yeah! Another Wayne's World!" Now I admit I don't watch it all the much anymore, but the only recent recurring that approaches this kind of thing is maybe Bill Hader's Stefon? And I realize that's years ago now.
The other year, as part of his cast reunion UA-cam series, Josh Gad brought the Wayne’s World cast back together. Sir Brian May & Roger Taylor of Queen also appeared & recalled the tale of how they managed to show the opening sequence to Freddie Mercury shortly before he died; & he loved it. Mike Myers & the cast were totally unaware that this had happened & we clearly moved that Mercury had given the scene his blessing.
So excited to see you watching this movie and announcing that Austin Powers is on the horizon.😎 Please, tell me you watched the credits to the end...? I worked at the movie theaters when this film came out and I also owned a Pacer - tan with a white stripe, so not nearly as cool as the Garth-Mobile but I got my fair share of Wayne's World shout-outs! 🤣 Meatloaf played the bouncer at the club, and Vanderhoff's wife is the Maid from Clue. Regarding Alice Cooper - yes, Feed My Frankenstein is on the OST and is but one of many hits; check out Schools Out For Summer, Nineteen, and Million Dollar Baby. My favorite song from this movie is Eric Clapton's Lovin' Your Lovin'...
I'm sure I'm not the only comment, but a lot of those commercials are 1970's - Chia Pets, the "Suck Cut" (yes, something like that really did exist), and rest are all references to commercials around when Meyers was growing up. I remember a lot of them from a kid also, and some of them were around for decades which is why you remember them too!
Yes you absolutely need to react to Chris Farley movies!! Start with Tommy Boy!! It’s one of the greatest comedies of all time!! Black Sheep and Beverly Hills Ninja are also great!!
Thanks for this reaction Jen, so glad you're feeling better too, eh!!! 🥰I went to see this movie back in 5th grade with my buddies Jesse and Mike and we were, as 10 year olds, blown away lol. Also, if memory serves, this film reinvogorated Queen's popularity with Bohemian Rhapsody. And yup, that's Tia Carrerre from True Lies.
Freddie Mercury managed to watch a copy of this video before his untimely death, he loved seeing Mike Myers and Dana Carvey headbang to his hit song Bohemian Rhapsody. To me this was the first ever UA-camr. It's very "Mission Impossible" Yeah same company same year lol
In 8th grade this movie came out on VHS and my sister gave me a copy for Christmas. My best friend was obsessed with it and that summer he came over every day wanting to watch it. I got pretty tired of it back then but I can enjoy it now.

I Will Forever be a Fan of Ed O'Neil, because He IS "Al Bundy!" 👍
He also played the family patriarch in Modern Family.
"We are not worthy!" Classic 90's comedy, filled with many notable zingers and one liners. And of course, who could forget the iconic singalong to "Bohemian Rhapsody", complete with head bops?!
🤘☺️
Pretty much the biggest video ever on MTV up to that time. I don’t know if it actually was, but it was on constantly.
We called it Head Banging.
All "dude" type characters originate with Jeff Spicoli (Sean Penn) from "Fast Times at Ridgemont High".
Jen's World 🤩
You relating to Garth so much was the best part of this. 🤣
Jen, you're so endearing.
5. He is also a surprisingly good golfer and I've had the privilege of seeing him twice 😎😁
6. Who doesn't love Al Bundy/Ed O'Neil?
7. A 1978 stoner's film you will like is Cheech & Chong, "Up in Smoke". 😎😎
This movie has several of the SNL crew. Mike Meyers, Dana Carvey, and Chris Farley. Ed O'Neill was famous at the time for Married with Children.
Robert Patrick was the cop who stopped Wayne and Garth and showed a picture. He played T-1000 in Terminator 2, wearing the same cop uniform.
"He blows goats. I have proof." That was the moment in the theater when I fell out of my seat from laughing so hard!
Not just drumming but guitar and keyboard too. He uses them in his stand-up comedy.
@@3DJapan chopin' brocolay
just skip his "Master of Disguise" movie
Well, isn't that speeccciallll? Loved the church lady haha!
I can totally see Alice Cooper as a bookstore frequenter.
"Get the net!"
That's Wayne's own expression, interpreted to mean, call the men in white coats and butterfly nets to come and take her away to the mental hospital.
There was no UA-cam in 1992. There were "public access TV shows".
Mike Myers is great in the Austin Powers trilogy.
Really looking forward to that, will be doing soon 👍👍
@@akashenk I think Eddie Murphy or John belushi might disagree....😊
@@akashenk mike myers is also in the movie mystery, alaska which is a favorite hockey movie of mine that I think Jen would love
His "So I Married An Axe Murderer" movie gets overlooked these days, too.
@@jenmurrayxo Yeah Baby!
Wayne's Worls started as a reoccurring skit on Saturday Night Live. It was one of the few SNL crossovers that was really successful. Happy to see you're reacting to the Austin Powers films. You've seen enough of Bond to spot all references, I'm sure.
Actually, Mike was doing the character solo at Second City prior to SNL.
Good times.
I was obsessed with this movie as a kid lol
🤘☺️
A comedic gem
Hey Hey there Jen Murray. This was a sketch on Saturday Night Live. Seeing in the theater was Awesome. Big Laughs. Love your reaction, as always. Have a good night. 😉👌
Thanks Michael 👍
This is propably the single most awesome reaction video ever. 90's nostalgia and Jen finding her long lost brother.
Had so much fun watching this! ☺️🤘
You know, I was here for Jen's great reaction (great reaction, Jen!), but I think my personal MVPs are E.D. 209 and Tom Hoffman being so polite with their teasing each other...

"Which show is this? Is it Mary Tyler Moore?"
It’s Laverne and Shirley.
The Noah's Arcade boss guy is actually Brian Doyle Murray who is Bill Murray's brother.
Absolutely love this movie. And FYI, Alice Cooper really is a down to earth and intelligent person .
Still puts on a good live show in his Seventies The Song Frankenstein is one of his standards where they bring a giant Frankenstein puppet on stage.
Don't forget he's a terrific golfer.
It's "Wayne's World, party time, excellent!"
🤘☺️
Going from incredulous to amused to grooving your head in time with the chorus of Feed My Frankenstein made my day. A great reaction as always!
"we're not worthy" is what everyone should say when they meet Jen.
I would say it...kneeling and all!
@@tomhoffman4330 and I'd put a ring on it !
@@kj6446 Well "Good Luck" to both of us.
This is the funniest and most original of the comedies from that era. This is simply groundbreaking in so many ways.
The sales guy that helped Wayne in the music store was Dana Strum, the bass player for Vinnie Vincent Invasion and the huge hair-metal band Slaughter. 🤘🤘
Yes, that is a real Alice Cooper song called "Feed My Frankenstein".
You know Bohemian Rapsody because of this movie. It was not played on classic rock stations much before this was released.
Tia Carrere was in the show Relic Hunter in the late 90's early 00's and was a guest star in numerous tv shows
I WAS going to get some sleep, but then this popped up and I knew I had to watch it right away! Party on. Jen! It was such a good time, watching you having a good time with two of my best buds 😁
Roll on Wayne’s World 2!
🤘☺️🇨🇦
Had this on VHS growing up. This was around the time SNL skits were being made into movies. Coneheads, Superstar, Ladies Man, Night at the Roxbury, Blues Brothers, It's Pat.
When I was 8 I would just rewind and re-watch the whole ending sequence over and over it was so funny
Enjoy!
As a fellow Canadian I hope you're getting all the references; Chicago is a stand in for Toronto, Stan Mikita's Donuts is Tim Hortons, etc...
they’re tv show was actually a routine skit on Saturday Night Live. That was the origin of the characters. Only a few skits have become movies: Blues Brothers, A Night at the Roxbury, Coneheads, It’s Pat, Stuart Saves His Family, The Love Man (?). I think I’m forgetting some.
I already know you will enjoy this classic 90s comedy. Thanks for the video

Wayne’s World originated as a sketch on Saturday night live which often used the public access television show as the basis of a skit.
street hockey was very much a thing where I grew up at this time in the Chicago suburbs
I feel like this was a comedy right in your wheelhouse. Glad you got it on the channel.
🤘☺️
Make sure to watch "The Graduate" with Dustin Hoffman before watching "Wayne's World 2" to get more references...
Good idea. 👍
Now THIS is a Canadian movie reaction.
Jen you need to watch Tommy Boy with Chris Farley. Compete 90’s classic. He co-stars with David Spade.
A classic! I also highly recommend an underrated comedy of the 90s starring Mike Myers called *So I Married An Axe Murderer*
One of the best 90s movies is Mike Meyers in So I Married an Axe Murderer....
The title says it all!
Dana Carvey can really play the drums!!
Oh that's awesome!! ☺️👍🎶
Popping in to echo your love for Garth, he’s my favorite. :D
Also, my friends and I used the “CAR!… Game on!” Line So. Many.
Before her movies Tia Carrere was an awesome recurring villain on MacGyver
@@danhalstead705 Mmm ... IMDb is chalking her up as two different characters, although both times she is a martial artist. In "The Wish Child," her "Lisa Chan" gets one moment to beat MacGyver in karate practice, but that seems to be about it. As "Tiu" in "Murderers' Sky," however, she evidently looks really great using her skills to carry out a crime.
She's the best thing in Kull the Conqueror, and a lot of other stuff she did. A huge amount of charisma, no matter the role.
The sequel is great too! I’ve seen them both probably hundreds of times, love the Wayne’s world movies, makes me so nostalgic.
“Party on, Jen!” 🎸
The other year, as part of his cast reunion UA-cam series, Josh Gad brought the Wayne’s World cast back together.
Sir Brian May & Roger Taylor of Queen also appeared & recalled the tale of how they managed to show the opening sequence to Freddie Mercury shortly before he died; & he loved it.
Mike Myers & the cast were totally unaware that this had happened & we clearly moved that Mercury had given the scene his blessing.
So excited to see you watching this movie and announcing that Austin Powers is on the horizon.😎
Please, tell me you watched the credits to the end...? I worked at the movie theaters when this film came out and I also owned a Pacer - tan with a white stripe, so not nearly as cool as the Garth-Mobile but I got my fair share of Wayne's World shout-outs! 🤣
Meatloaf played the bouncer at the club, and Vanderhoff's wife is the Maid from Clue.
Excellent reaction, Jen! Good thing you recognized a lot of references including the Terminator! That was funny!
It's very "Mission Impossible"
Yeah same company same year lol
In 8th grade this movie came out on VHS and my sister gave me a copy for Christmas. My best friend was obsessed with it and that summer he came over every day wanting to watch it. I got pretty tired of it back then but I can enjoy it now.
