Hey guys, I’m the commissioner! I’m also the guy who commissioned Blazing Fury and Remnants Underneath. I am so happy how this track came out. Brandon did an amazing job.
While I am a Pokémon fan and I do like Giratina, I mainly requested this because I like the matchup a lot. Two powerful beings that distort reality anti-matter.
What’s actually pretty funny about the anti-matter part is that the moment Brandon uploaded this was at the same time Death Battle posted Frieza vs Megatron and anti-matter was one of the main topics.
As for who wins……

Both are so ridiculously powerful that it’s bullshit. Giratina has the power advantage but Yukari has the stronger haxes. So I don’t know.

@@yarharharI believe Yukari is at least, universe+ or a bit higher. Giratina however is at Multiverse+. And Giratina exists in a different plane of existence and creates avatars in its place. Whether Yukari can counter this or not I have no idea. Touhou Project has never been my strong suit. All I know is that they have insane haxes.
I must say, great idea for a matchup! As a long-time fan of Pokemon and a passing knower of Touhou, I'm honestly surprised that nobody thought of this sooner. Giratina indeed has greater power (scaling to the total Pokemon multiverse cosmology), but Yukari's spatial and dimensional hax are ridiculous. Speed is also not really a factor: Yukari scales above characters who crossed an infinite hallway and Giratina can travel across the endless void between realities. So, this would be one of the few times where they would seriously be forced to go all out.
The rules of reality crumble as the universe just shifts and disintegrates... that's the impression I get from this track.
I dropped everything I was doing as soon as I saw that notification. Absolute banger, and S-tier track art. I can imagine the two fighting in and out of the distortion world and Gensokyo.
Also, The picture of Yukari throwing a train at Giratina is just funny to me.

@@yarharhar Sure, but Pokemon goes _HARD_ with its version of the Many-Worlds theory on top of featuring infinite expansion. Yukari scaling to all the infinite heavenly realms (and realms below that) is indeed somehow dwarfed by Giratina literally carrying the balance of an infinite infinities upon infinities just by _passively_ doing its thing.

This is a really close match like much closer then you would think both getting to mutiversal to mutiversal + range and both having likely infinite speed and some broken hax to fit I can't say for sure who wins.
What I can say is that this track slaps and it might be one of my favorites most likely because I love Pokemon and Touhou is a series I like quite a bit, not as much as Pokemon but still great. And of course because of the amazing work Brandon always puts into his tracks.
and there should be a scene where Yukari talks to Giratina on how it will never find true happiness as the living distortion world but lucky for Giratina she will grant the Renegade Pokemon happiness and peace unlike what it understands. and then even though I don't think Giratina has spoken before it wouldn't be wild to assume it can't so it can respond, so have it speak back to Yukari about how a Youkai like her knows about happiness and how it doesn't need the pity of someone else for it's a being of anti-matter a being far beyond that of a simple Pokemon it is Giratina it is the Distortion World. just an idea I had
Agreed! I'm sick of Legendaries just being treated as growling, angry super-monsters, despite the fact that the Creation Trio have such intricate lore behind them as physical gods. I can imagine Giratina and Yukari having a (begrudging) respect for each other. Yukari would probably acknowledge Giratina as one of the few creatures who can seriously pose a threat to her in a fight and therefore take it seriously, while Giratina respects Yukari for managing her home realm just like it guards the Distortion World but still makes it clear to her that it exists above most Youkai.

Oh and I didn't mention this is the comment but Yukari just loves using trains or at least it's a joke now in the series so in the battle she should use it often but only for Giratina just getting slightly annoyed so it uses a portal of its own and sends the train right back at her (or a move like telekinesis, gravity,twister anything just Yukari being hit by her own train is to funny to pass up even if she wouldn't be really damaged by it)

Oh. Oh wow. I love how surprisingly somber sounding this is. Like in a better world, these two could have an understanding with one another rather than duking it out to the death. But I genuinely love the way the track shifts at 2:21; it's genuinely lovely, and the chaos toward the end is just. /chef's kiss
I think it'd be a pretty damn close fight. Yukari has a fuckton of bullets and gaps, but given that she cheats at the end of PCB's Phantasm fight with her final spell, it's really a test of if Giratina can outlast her or if it'll be able to break through. But honestly? I think I'd give it to Giratina, but I can see the fight just kind of gapping between the real and distortion worlds and gensokyo and being absolute chaos.
ZUN has stated that Yukari's power might be responsible for separating the world of Touhou from the real world, not Gensokyo from the Outside World, we know she can do that, but the fictional earth seen in Touhou from *our* real world. This is even backed up in canon within Grimore of Usami where Momiji, yes the same Momiji who is a fodder midboss in touhou 10, senses the READER, and targets them with her spellcard. And Yukari is in on it too.
Even without that, she is far more powerful than you give her credit for and is above anything in Pokemon I'm pretty sure.

Agreed. Both Giratina and Yukari are Lovecraftian godly beings with cosmic powers beyond comprehension. Deadass, either of them could solo most of Dragon Ball. On the OTHER hand, though, both Giratina and Yukari usually are only truly dangerous if you mess with them and/or mess with their protectorate realms first. In fact, the somber piano notes at the end makes it sound like the winner views it as a pyrrhic victory, because neither Giratina nor Yukari would probably want to fight each other if they just randomly met in the voids between worlds.
This is sick, I wouldn’t mind seeing a official episode of that one day and I say this as someone who prefers the matchup between Yukari vs Gilgamesh

@@AmazedPIKACHU with 19 mainline games and 6 spin-offs and 14 comics with each following a diffrent story line it's really hard to say what it's about. but mostly it's about Reimu trying to fix someone elses problem with her fighting a lot of Yokai in a fun game known as dodge everything on screen which inculdes projectiles filling the whole screen, overalla fun series

Gotta say that I thought I was going mad seeing this matchup because I could have sworn Brandon already did it. Turns out that he hadn't and that it was Sky TehGM that did it already. But hey, another epic song is still an epic song even if it's for the same matchup.
And boy is that one epic. I personally don't have much attachement to the MU or characters (hell, straight up don't know one of them given my ignorance of everything Touhou-related) but I certainly love how this track turned out to be. It's a perfect mix of the bullet-hell Touhou music with very fast paced and melodic main segments that fit the games along with a more character-focused general atmosphere. The fact that it straddles the line between tragic-sounding melodies/tones and more tense/sombre feelings that make for a really appreciable dynamic that sounds frankly amazingly catchy.
Altho the second edge of that blade is that there's not much to say on specific segments of the track due to it sounding so fittingly as a bullet hell song meaning that it doesn't have a lot of segments that truly stand out. But to me that's not an issue as the song *as a whole* stands out as really unique and qualitative. So even if there's not much for me to say, it doesn't at all mean there's not much to appreciate.
Overall this track is just as said above: a track that, due to how much it fits the source material, doesn't have much that I specifically can say about it but it's still a great song that fits the tone of the matchup and, as said, the source material's OST perfectly well, all the while sounding wonderful and catchy. Amazing job with this as always.

@@poipoimaster142 No, Giratina doesn't win. Even if it _is_ more conventionally powerful than Yukari, Yukari's hax, both offensive and defensive, is just too much for Giratina to get around.

@@poipoimaster142 The Distortion World doesn't really have any arguments to shut off Yukari's powers (it still runs off of concepts, but those concepts are distorted, hence the name), and Giratina's Origin Forme honestly just isn't enough of a boost, since, again, Giratina's got no way around Yukari's cavalcade of hax abilities that invalidate most anything Giratina can throw at her...
...and that's assuming Yukari _allows_ the fight to go to the Distortion World to begin with, which, given her fourth wall awareness (meaning she will know everything Giratina is capable of) and extremely cunning mind, she would be unlikely to do, and she DOES have the means to prevent such a scenario.

Giratina VS Yukari
Evil? Creators of a new world.
Giratina
Strength: Aided in the creation of the infinite Pokemon multiverse, making it easily Multi+
Speed: Infinite, to omnipresent in the distortion world (It is the distortion world. Should be faster than Necrozma)
Hax: Conceptual in its existence, embodying the nature of nothing. Destroying its avatar means almost nothing. Can throw creatures into the distortion world, which is inescapable to even those who can create portals. Resists Law Manip
Abilities: All of its Avatar's moves. Idk what else to say for him.
Yakumo Yukari
Strength: The strongest Youkai in all of Gensokyo without contest, helped create Gensokyo, fought with the Lunarians, most of whom are far above Reimu in power, making her Low-Multi
Speed: Scales to characters like Reimu, who can fly at Infinite speeds, and can likely make speed irrelevant with Boundary manip
Hax: Boundary Manipulation. This is outside of any sort of standard law Manip (We see Law Manip in Touhou as more of what characters like Sagume and the gods can do). Boundary Manipulation is basically the ability to alter the boundary between two concepts, like 'Master' and 'Slave', 'Nothing' and 'Something', etc. Etc. Needless to say, she can do ANYTHING with this power. There are NO limits, EE, BFR, Law Manip, ANYTHING. Even within areas such as Eientei which run on a separate causality, and against opponents like Jo'on and Shion who are primordial gods who exist outside of time and space. As a Youkai, Yukari also created the Hakurei Barrier, which exists outside of regular time, space, and causality. She can also regenerate from spiritual erasure (as she can Regen from complete bodily destruction in spite of being made of spirit)
Abilities: Danmaku, Flight, and Gap Manipulation which allows her to go just about anywhere including the outside world, which should be impossible to access past the border of the great Hakurei Barrier.
So who wins?
Giratina is obviously stronger, and possibly faster, but it's debatable.
Yukari though has far more haxs and showing of her abilities than Giratina.

No actually. Not only was she able to manipulate boundaries against primordial gods who existed before time and space and in Eientei. She can also gap outside of the Hakurei Barrier, a barrier that is very similar to that of the distortion world. It is of no question that Yukari could escape the distortion world.
However, it's important to note the strength gap makes it very difficult for Yukari to do much…
But.
She has explicitly controlled the 'Existence' and 'Nonexistence' of things before.
Because Giratina embodies 'nothingness', if Yukari altered the boundaries between 'nothingness' and 'something' or 'Acausality' and 'Causality', Yukari could easily force away most of Giratina's resistances.
Of course, this is all assuming she goes for a winning strategy first. But judging by how Yukari acts, that is perfectly in character, as opposed to Giratina, who is generally more simplistic in its actions, in spite of some clever showings.
In general, I think that Yukari has the haxs, smarts, and bullshit, to pull off a win more times than not.
Giratina may've been incomprehensibly strong, but against Yukari's overwhelming exceptions, it was 'bound' to be outwitted and destroyed.

@@eliezioteixeira7222Nah, altering the exact boundary that represents Giratina's entire being is just the most blatant counter possible. Not only that, but you can get Youkai waaay above low multi without much effort, so even the strength aspecf is debatable.
Plus, killing a youkai permanently is just like, _border_ line impossible.

I have a feeling that giratina is going to put up quite a fight. Touhou characters are pretty bonkers in terms of power levels, but if wiz taught me anything it's this: Anti matter control is one of the most dangerous powers one can have.

Earlier this year, there was an exhibition of the art from Perfect Cherry Blossom where ZUN wrote that Yukari is likely using her powers to separate our world and the game world, she is absolutely just going to observe the Giratina analysis, probably talk to Sanae and Sumireko who would know more about Pokémon (considering Sanae did think of Pikachu in Wild and Horned Hermit at one point), and act based on that.

Apparently, the issue is that Giratina can’t kill her. She’ll just come back over and over again. It can’t keep her down forever or even for a very long amount of time before she’s already back.

That track art is so sick!!!! Rooting Gitrana betting Yukari. I never played Touhou but how powerful are their characters & what tier are they? How big is their cosmology?
I know practically nothing about Pokémon Lore, but touhou go's crazy even cannon fodder are city block level with faster than light reaction times at minimum due to fairy scaling(fairys being the weakest), those in the middle ranging from city level to multi continental with top tiers & gods being low multiversal that are consistently able to affect multiple infinite space & times, several characters have ever crossed these infinitely sized dimensions making them infinite speed. The cosmology can get pretty complicated to explain but to put it simply Touhou takes place in Gensokyo essentially an infinite pocket dimension that overlaps with the outside world location, we don't really know its size but we do know it can be infinitely expanded, This means that climate events, be it climate change or
be it disasters that affect the patch of land linked to the outside world can affect Gensokyo (Albeit in a limited way), and people entering that same small patch of land occasionally wander to Gensokyo. The Moon is not linked to Gensokyo at all, hence why the Lunarians(moon rabbits)needed to use the Occult Balls to transport
the Lunar Capital there. The reason Lunar Robes and reflection teleportation work is that it's barrier traversal (You're specifically travelling through the great hakurei barrier to a certain location, or going from the
Hakurei Barrier to a specific location outside it), this works because the great hakurei barrier isn't a physical
one, just as it's possible to wake up in Gensokyo despite being a snake from India, then it's possible to travel from
the moon and end up in Gensokyo. Now, Hell in itself is not a cosmological location, it's a physical one found within Gensokyo, we know this because of everything around Former Hell (And the fact it's apparently located somewhere inside or below the Youkai Mountain), plus the fact Hell can get overpopulated shows that side of it, there are likely 9
other Hells unrelated to Gensokyo. Sanzu+Netherworld work similarly to how travel out and into Gensokyo works-They're not physical barriers, but they have physical locations associated with them in Gensokyo, you need to go through barriers in order to ge to it, if you can't see and then get through those barriers you won't be able to just wander there
Heaven is unknown, but given the abysmal number of native Japanese hermits, we can pretty much accept that Heaven is another dimension. The dream dimension is essentially infinite layers layered onto infinite layers as the dream dimension is infinite and houses the dreams of all living creatures and each dream is another infinite dimension in the dream world.
Yukari is considered as one of the most powerful entities in a world where powers include things like "destruction of everything and anything". Her signature ability is the "manipulation of boundaries", a vaguely defined power of which the limitations are poorly known. While she most commonly uses it to simply create portals, Yukari is essentially a reality warper, able to do nearly anything as long as it involves *some* sort of boundary being crossed. For example, she could potentially instantly kill or resurrect people through the "boundary of life and death". It's hinted that she could even erase boundaries that exist between objects, essentially fusing two or more things into an amorphous blob, or on the opposite end, she could create new boundaries, splitting things in twain. Her power can affect both physical objects and abstract concepts.
Due to the nature of combat in the series and Yukari's own enigmatic nature means that seeing her go all-out is almost unheard of, which makes it hard to determine where her real ceiling is. However, things she *has* done canonically include: forcing a character with the power to turn into mist back into her true form by bending the boundary between states of matter, messing with the boundary between day and night, creating the entire subdimension in which the series takes place (Gensokyo) by separating it from "normal" reality, manipulating the boundary of truth and illusion to access an object via an illusion of said object, and manipulating the boundary of dream and reality to pull things out of dreams into the physical world.
In addition to all this, as a powerful and ancient magical being, she has abnormal physical strength and durability, in addition to enormous raw magical power and skill. Yukari herself claims that "shooting, cutting, stabbing, hitting, or killing her is useless". She has several magical beings bound to her service (shikigami), of which at least one is powerful enough to have shikigami of her own.
I also forgot to mention that touhou characters are always holding back and limiting their abilities due to "Spell Card Rules." As spell card rules are there to make every fight even and fair by having abilities during the duel be "Gameified." in order to make duels between everyone fair, formalized, and safe. Spell card battles have very clearly defined rules and attacks that are agreed upon before a duel, with the purpose being that the most beautiful attacks win. In general, Spell Cards are simply fancy names for things characters can do normally. While spell card duels are there to avoid bloodshed, it should be noted that Junko did initiate a spell card duel with Reimu with the intention to kill her so the duels can be lethal

Giratina should actually pull ahead here. While the Touhou multiverse is infinite, the same can be said for Pokemon. In fact, thanks to the Pokemon multiverse being more based on Many-Worlds theory (while Touhou is more M-Theory), it is somehow even MORE infinite. As exemplified with the Reflection Cave and Ultra Wormholes, there are _infinite_ universes in the multiverse. However, on top of that, each one of those universes has an _infinite_ number of alternate timelines apiece. Furthermore, space and time are infinitely expanding throughout the multiverse, meaning that each universe itself may also be infinite.
And Giratina passively helps to uphold the balance for _all of THAT._ Infinities upon infinities. User "ProfessorKukui4Life" posted an extensive blog about the cosmology of the Pokemon multiverse to back this up.
Plus, Yukari supposedly manipulating concepts actually doesn't help her in this case. Yes, she has messed around with the concepts of "life/death" or "existence/nonexistence"... but Cyrus' entire plan hinged on manipulating one of the Creation Trio into literally _deleting the _*_concept of "spirit" itself._* And the only reason his plot failed was because of outside interference from other parties, including Giratina itself (AKA another one of the Creation Trio). So yeah, the Creation Trio members definitely have their own Conceptual Manipulation going on, and they have a difficult time with harming each other despite that. So if even the other Creation Trio members have difficulty harming each other with their powers, then Yukari definitely can't just win by erasing the concept of distortion or anti-matter or whatever. FFS Giratina's Distortion World literally lacks the very concept of time or space, and Giratina is fine with living there _AND_ he directly upholds the existence of the Distortion World with its own.
Suffice to say, Giratina also exists above abstract concepts along with being able to manipulate/destroy concepts as well, on top of being powerful enough to maintain the balance of infinitely-growing infinities upon infinities just by chilling and doing nothing.

The thing is with Yukari, is that raw ap doesn’t matter against her. “Boundary manipulation” kind of just negates any form of death for her. It’s a bs super hax power that lets her “close the gap between life and death, truth and illusions, reality and fantasy etc.”
Basically put you need way more than raw power to permanently kill Yukari, something which Giratina (to my knowledge) doesn’t have the ability to do, not easily at least. Yukari on the other hand can
1: close the boundary between the distortion world and Gensokyo sealing him away forever, or
2: use boundary manipulation to make gerarinas nothingness into something, invalidating most of his options.
Not saying it’s a stomp but I’m leaning more towards Yukaris haxs as opposed to Giratinas raw power.

@@markstevens7019 Yukari can also control anti matter and matter, literally has a spell card called “universe of matter and anti matter” featured in hisotensoku. Along with manipulation over other things such as space and time, with gensokyo itself being the prime example, by closing the boundaries between night and day she was able to create an entire infinitely expanding universe which is gensokyo. She literally matches Geratina in hax and can counter most of, if not all of their hax.
Yukaris power, as described by the creator of the series has no clear limit. The only time we see a limit is when Yorihime, a lunarian who has a similar power to her was able to keep her from invading the moon, along with the help of super tech that’s far beyond human imagination.
Giratina can get a win if he’s able to completely destroy the concept of herself, but Yukari is also a Yokai. In the touhou verse a yokai is basically an immortal being that will always exist unless 1: everyone stop fearing them, or 2: they have special fuck you items that we’ve only seen the protagonist having access to. On top of being nearly unkillable, she will come back eventually as long as people fear her, which is part of the reason why she created gensokyo. We’ve seen another yokai (Totetsu) survive being completely destroyed from reality itself, and come back like a week later due to the fear thing.
Not to mention manipulating the boundaries of the physical world and spiritual world is something she has done before. ie being able to go into the dream world to get weapons that only exist there.

@@markstevens7019 The distortion world is a non issue for Yukari. If Giratina takes her there, then she can just as easily leave or take the battle elsewhere along with closing the boundary between the distortion world and wherever they went to. As you said given time Giratina can break it, but it would take time. Yukari can just open up and close boundaries like it’s nothing to her. Even if they are able to break that boundary she can just as easily create a new ones. I mentioned it before, there is no limit to her powers, it took someone with a very similar power her(both having manipulation over boundaries) who’s not only stronger than her, but had the help of lunarian super tech which again is far beyond anyone’s understanding.
I can’t stress enough how insane boundary manipulation is, that shit literally lets you do anything you want it to. You kill her, the boundaries of life and death get blurred so she is no longer alive or dead but both at the same time, if you damage her spirit with ghost type attacks, she can just as easily create a boundary that blurs the line between spiritual and physical making an uncertain if it would be able to even effect her to any meaningful extent. Giritinas haxs aren’t boundary manipulation, it’s nothingness and antimatter manipulation, which both are a non issue for Yukari.
If we’re talking about infinity feats and how they can break them, touhou is filled with them. She flew to the end of an eternally extending hallway without using her boundary powers in touhou 9, she managed to defeat dream tenshin, who was strong enough to put every heaven in danger of being destroyed (in case you’re wondering heaven is not only infinitely expanding in touhou, but there’s also an near unlimited amount of heavens each with its own god. Basically if there’s a god of something, then they have a heaven they rule over). Keep in mind this all under the spell card rule in touhou, where even the lower power level character can just casually end the universe. So made a rule that actively nerfs everyone to give the weaker beings a chance to fight back, and to prevent needless death. So Yukaris is arguably capable of more broken things than what I already listed.
Giratinas best option is ghost type attacks, but even that’s iffy because Yukari can the same thing back at them by that logic. Given Pokémon logic her spiritual attacks would be able to greatly injure Giratina. Her haxs shut most of Giratina options down to do any fatal damage to her. Yukari can turn their nothingness into something rendering them powerless, she can close the boundary between them and the distortion world not only removing the buffs they get from there but getting rid of the option to retreat or escape from there entirely, she can drain their spirit, and probably even more things that I can’t think of right now. The point is she’s a genius when it comes to combat and strategy so it would only be a matter of time before she finds a way to put down Giratina. Meanwhile Giratina isn’t shown to have the same battle strategy without a trainer.

*I think this matchup is **_SUPER_** close, but I agree.* People who think Yukari easily takes this with her hax clearly don't know the Pokemon multiverse. Both Yukari and Giratina are easily Multi+ thanks to scaling over charactes with their own Multi/Multi+ feats, and both of them can reshape entire concepts (Yukari apparently once messed around with the concept of "existence", while Giratina's siblings, Palkia and Dialga, had to be stopped from deleting the concept of "spirit"). But while the Touhou verse is more based on M-Theory (which is where that shaky 11D scaling comes from), Pokemon is more based on Many-Worlds theory... which makes it an _infinity upon infinities._
Exemplified with the Ultra Wormholes and Reflection Cave, the Pokemon multiverse holds an infinite number of parallel universes, and each one of those universes holds an infinite number of alternate timelines. Not only that, but it's been stated that time and space are both infinitely expanding on top of that. I bring this up because Giratina passively helps uphold _ALL OF THAT_ without even actively doing anything. And again, the Creation Trio's own powers over concepts means that Yukari can't just win by deleting away enough concepts.
Finally, while Yukari is demonstrated to be a genius, Giratina has more experience with picking on enemies its own size (namely the other Creation Trio members). Yukari is heavily used to having a massive edge over her enemies, which she won't have here. Factor in Giratina's varied moveset and Pressure, and the scales tip just enough for a hard-earned victory.

First and foremost, Yukari _is_ going into this fight with foreknowledge- into any fight, actually. She's demonstrated fourth wall awareness on multiple occasions, and it's heavily implied through certain attack names that Yukari can even breach Giratina's potential higher dimensional physiology (Boundary of 2D and 3D comes to mind, because yes, that _is_ an attack she has used), and the fact that Giratina's varied moveset means absolute jack when killing Yukari conventionally is all but impossible without some way of nullifying her powers, which Giratina just does not have since the only known method for that involves having powers that run on the same boundary principle augmented by supertechnology (read: Toyohime in SSiB), and Giratina has neither.
Especially given how the Creation Trio only embody very specific concepts- (AND NO, Cyrus trying to eradicate the concept of spirit by literally destroying the universe and remaking it doesn't count, since his method was to destroy everything that contained that concept). Especially given how such a thing took extensive time even for Dialga and Palkia (which, I should also point out, puts into question whether the Creation Trio's power is absolute considering that Dialga is literally the being who governs time), whereas Yukari's boundary manipulation is entirely casual for her- she manipulates not only a far broader range of concepts, but does so far more regularly and with far greater ease than it took the combined might of Dialga and Palkia to even threaten *a single concept.*
That, I think, is worth mentioning. Dialga and Palkia's space-time distortion to threaten the universe evidently took a large amount of effort and time from both legendaries, and was easily able to be prevented through Giratina taking Cyrus out of the equation, to break his control over them. On the flipside, Yukari manipulates these concepts with such ease that even the Lunarians, a highly-advanced super civilization, required countermeasures dedicated _solely for her_ just to keep her out.
That aforementioned foreknowledge is the biggest advantage Yukari has, honestly- her abilities outright counter any potential offensive or defensive argument Giratina can bring to the table if applied in the right way- and given Yukari is, again, fourth wall aware and thus will have full knowledge of everything Giratina is capable of, there's simply no scenario in which Giratina can bring Yukari down before she can put this advantage to work.
Put simply, you need a very specific set of tools to actually bring Yukari down for good, and Giratina lacks several key components that lead to any argument for it winning falling apart real quick when you get into the details.
@@Hyperneosonic97 Cyrus' plan of destroying everything with spirit was more so a demonstration of how destructively evil he was, not because the universe _needed_ to be destroyed for the concept of spirit to be erased. He explicily _wants_ everything to be "reduced to zero", not just subtracting one specific thing, and Cyrus even says that it would just be easier to start from scratch instead of molding the old universe. It's like how Thanos COULD have just spawned endless resources with the Gauntlet, but still chose the Snap.
Not to mention that it's pretty obvious that Palkia/Dialga weren't totally subservient to Cyrus and seemed to be resisting his control. Notably in Diamond/Pearl, NEITHER of them continued to help create the new universe when the Lake Trio appeared and destroyed the Red Chain, and in Platinum, neither of them tried to stop Giratina from taking Cyrus despite ostensibly being under his command then, and even backed away when it appeared. Professor Rowan himself ouright states that Palkia/Dialga were _forced_ to use their powers by the Red Chain. Palkia and Dialga taking so long in threatening a single concept was a result of them NOT wanting to do that in the first place, and the fact that only the Lake Trio (DP)/Giratina (Platinum) was in a position to fully halt them.
Especially because, again, Giratina merely _opening a portal_ can destroy an entire universe on its own (Cynthia outright states it, and Giratina intentionally does so as an attack in the manga). Given how casually it was, and the fact that the Creation Trio are roughly on the same tier, it's obvious that Palkia/Dialga really were digging their heels in when it came to obeying Cyrus' command. They could normally play around with abstract concepts like toys if they actually wanted to, so nothing is holding Giratina back against Yukari's conceptual hax.

On top of her many other hacks and Giratina lacking any way to actually kill Yukari thanks to her existing on a higher plane of reality, this match is pretty cut and dry for a Yukari stomp.

As a Pokemon fan I’m glad that there’s another Pokemon track, but I’m afraid that Pokemon will become oversaturated like how kingdom hearts was last volume. Especially due to the fact that most of it has had to do with the creation trio, in some way shape or form.

Honestly, I figure it's good that the Creation Trio are getting some love from Yates' tracks. Too many people give flak for the movies' underwhelming representation, rather than acknowledging the Creation Trio as the Lovecraftian primordial gods that they are. And this matchup in particular seems to be highly slept on, because Yukari is certainly a well-matched, worthy opponent for the Renegade Pokémon.

Now, I’m not exactly a stranger to touhou but I’m also not very familiar with it. So apologies if I’m skeptical of the whole “Touhou characters only use 0.0001% of their power so they don’t destroy the universe in one flick”.
Sure that whole splitting a universe apart is cool, but I don’t think it compares to the power to outright destroy a universe (or several even).
Also, doesn’t the effect of shadow force bypass barriers?
I’d love some proper feats and descriptions from touhou itself aside from just “she’s multiversal, G can’t touch her, deal with it”. You know, I want to know if she’s REALLY as untouchable as you make her out to be.
What are her limits? Who’s beaten her? How did they beat her? Etc.
She can control the relationship between abstract concepts, that’s the easiest way to describe boundary manip. Life death, servant master, reality fiction, nothingness something, matter antimatter, and far more than those I just mentioned. By controlling these concepts she simultaneously is and isn’t those things while being able to control them. Shadow force to my knowledge lets Giratina hide in another dimension then attack, not exactly boundary manipulation(if it is then it isn’t close to the level that Yukari has shown). I can list a few examples if you want.
Feats, aside from the creator blatantly saying she has no clear limits; she has defeated Dream Tenshin. Tenshin was going to destroy every single heaven in the touhou-verse. How big is heaven, well it’s described to be bigger than both hell and the dream world which are both described to be infinite in size(dream world is stated to be infinite by Dormey the ruler of dreams, and there is implied to be an infinite amount of hells as described by Hecatia the goddess of hell). How you get bigger than infinity I don’t know, it just is. And that only takes into account one heaven, she was going to destroy all heavens. Every single god is said to have their own heaven in touhou.
She’s not unstoppable though. Yukari has lost to the Watatsumi sisters, and blatantly admits that she can’t win a fight against one of them. Which considering that Toyohime basically has Yukaris powers while being powered up by millions of gods at the same time is saying something. She is unable to travel the mystical part of the moon because of Toyohime, and the moon tech she put into place specifically to stop Yukari. Even then they can’t stop Yukari from creating boundaries, they were only able to interrupt it.
A few other things that I couldn’t fit, she is actively nerfed by the spell card rule so the true extent of her power isn’t known, she flew to the end of an eternal hallway indicating infinite speed, and the fact that Gensokyo used to be pet of our world but was made into the fictional work we call touhou by Yukari in order to save Yokai from becoming extinct.

I’d imagine a LOT of people would be angry if death battle's scaling of Yukari was off by even a little bit (possibly to the point of making big G the winner by some fluke).

@@OthermageRED that’s entirely fair, power scaling definitely wasn’t a thing Zun (the creator) was thinking about when he was making touhou, he just makes powers that sound cool. Power scaling any touhou is an actual nightmare. It’s not a series about power scaling but of world building and character.
It’s generally agreed that touhou is interpreted anywhere from low uni-high multi and the community itself can’t agree in the exact powerscale.

@@OthermageRED would it work traditionally, yes it would destroy her body. Would it keep her down, not too sure. Yukari is described in one of the many official books(I don’t remember which one exactly, might be one of the “Grimore” books but it slips my mind) to be an someone so powerful that not even death itself can keep her down. By manipulating the “boundaries” between life and death she is neither dead or alive but exists in an uncertain state of both at the same time. It’s backed up by lore, where she was the only one who could be around and even make friends with Yuyuko when she was alive and unable to control her power, which is “the ability to bring instant and peaceful death upon someone.” So would it traditionally kill her if she was caught off guard, MAYBE.
Not to mention Yokai are incredible hard to kill permanently. They are abstract beings that exist off of fear. As long as one fears a Yokai, they will always exist one way or another. One great example is Totetsu who was completely and utterly destroyed by Flandre in 17.5. Flandre was upset that Totetsu came back to life when she thought she destroyed her, but was told by Okina (one of Yukari equals as a sage) that she shouldn’t feel bad about her coming back because that’s her nature of a Yokai, but rather was more impressed that she destroyed the “evil” part of her existence. As long as one fears them they will always exist, that’s why Yukari created Gensokyo; so that humans will always fear Yokai, and her to that extent.

I love Touhu Fans bring the Whole “boundary Manipulation” as Win for Yukari but Yukari Boundary Manipulation can easily get overwhelmed and overpowered
( Which Giratina can do as he gets Stronger in Battle and can casually overwhelming and overpower Yukari with Raw Power and especially Giratina is More Stronger, More Durable, Faster and Has more Stats )
Raw power means nothing because Yukari's boundary manipulation basically makes her functionally immortal on top of its many, _many_ other uses (like being able to instantly kill Giratina with a thought since Giratina _can_ still die). You have to have a way of NULLFIYING her abilities to actually kill her, and Giratina simply cannot do that.

@@xenovegito2351 Space and Time are merely distorted in the Distortion World, not nullified. Otherwise, Giratina wouldn't have been trapped in the Distortion World by Dialga's time manipulation during the Anime Movie 11 (which required Shaymin's Seed Flare to break the time loop... for some reason). Even if we do assume it could, this would only work against Dialga and Palkia's Time and Space Manip (And bare in mind, it was only ever seen clashing against Dialga).

There's no proof of such. The only time Yukari's abilities have ever been seen failing, it was because they were directly interfered with by somebody with powers that run on the same boundary concepts as hers (Toyohime), and Giratina's powers most certainly don't. It also doesn't help that Toyohime had prior warning Yukari was plotting something AND Lunarian supertechnology.
And even if we assume that, Yukari is more than capable of destroying Giratina's physical bodies to the point where it can't really fight Yukari any more, to the point where it would still be counted as a victory for Yukari, especially since her Fourth Wall Awareness would give her knowledge on literally everything Giratina is capable of. In essence, it would be an infinite loop of Giratina trying and failing to defeat Yukari.

I think for Blossoming, it have to do with Perfect Cherry Blossoms, the 7th Touhou installment where Yukari is a Phantasmal boss.
New World have something to do with Cyrus creating a New World and if you play Pokemon Platinum, Giratina appears in the Spear Pillar.
Did you know that in Platinum, Giratina appeared to prevent Cyrus on creating the New World?
If you play the Post game on Legends Arceus and capture Giratina, you'll see what i mean.
