Nicely done! I learned how to pack from my parents, especially my Dad who was also in the military for 30 years. As he packed his duffle and soft bags I would watch him as he got a "ton" of things in the bags. Mom packed her suitcases just like you did in your organizers...amazing how much more you can pack when you roll items rather than fold them. Anyway, you inspired me to repack my two chest of drawers and purge what I do not need or use. Yesterday I installed curtains on my side door and over the back barn doors. It gave the interior a nicer and homier feel. Kudos to you and Marie for providing me ideas. Mahalo!

Very inspirational. I'm saving up for "Van Life". I do have a question. Have you ever thought of reversing the passenger seat so that it faces backwards? Most seats are only held down by four bolts that are easily removed with a socket wrench. I know some of the old ford econolines had "Captains chairs" that swiveled 180 degrees so you gained the additional space and have a "proper" chair.
I have been home, freezing in New Brighton PA for a couple of weeks, waiting for my replacement AC200P to arrive. I emptied my 2010 transit connect and am watching this video again before loading up and heading to Imperial Beach.
Your organization is amazing. I have a Dodge Grand Caravan and I believe you can get more in your Ford Connect that I can in my larger car. I need to take lessons from you ! ! ! I especially love the cabinet that houses your "kitchen" but I haven't been able to find it anywhere. Maybe it's not in stock anymore.
I like your idea of ‘pack and go’ storage’ I’ve built my storage to accommodate trays that I can pack while at home and then just slide into the storage area. Edit: you mentioned that you ‘travelled internationally for so long’. Flight crew?
Re being prepared for all weather. I take a good quality mohair blanket. Warm and can vacuum pack so takes up very little space. Downside is needs hand wash or dry cleaning. Have a down body warmer that rolls really small It is Always in camera backpack with chocolate n ciggy lighter n survival blanket Spare car key n whistle always around my neck. You have given me ideas for packing clothes ….. much easier AND tidier. Thank you Dee….. now looking for a collapsable basin 😅
U make me wanna buy my future car this is small and simple and very well organized I love the food storage idea.. I remember when I was younger when we travel we always used coolers. I might else well start on a file of ideas that I want for the future other then saving money for a van like that

Hey Rachee I just use my backpack for my clothes have a little dirty laundry bag and I have a cooler bag I'm in the car I set that up in the back plenty of wipes keep myself clean and another bag with some canned goods and food and I drink mainly iced tea and I can drink that warm hot or cold and it works out okay but I'm not full time

I noticed you didn't have any Lucilites which are available on line or in Walmart. They are indoor outdoor solar weatherproof lighting that can recharge on your dashboard. A great source of light. I've never understood the complex wiring of vans when there are so many fine low tech products.

Thanks! It is necessary to organize with a small space. The boots are from a company called Blundstone. They are expensive but really well made. My daughters had them for years while living and working on an organic farm. They swore by them and convinced me to get a pair. They are from Australia. I love them.

I get asked that often. It was a gift to me, but I think they said they got it at Nordstrom rack or something like that. Wish I could find them too-I’d love to have a spare in case this one gets too old. I’ve had it for four years and I love it. As for the bins, they came with the dividers in place. It’s just fabric which I like because it has some give to it.

i use packing cubes for my in season clothes. with a dog and travelling the dusty desert, i couldn't do the simple method you use- too much sand and dust and dog hair 😬.

It seems like you cannot access your under cabinet faucet water jugs/pumps from the garage area... That seems to be something that should be done. Thoughts? Thank You!
Great suggestion! I will go into detail about that in an upcoming video☺️ I do have access to the water jug, but not from garage. I tried to figure that one out. Not until I rebuild my cabinet some day. For now, it is actually more convenient from inside with how I refill it.

Hi Sonia. Hmmmm. If you are referring to the one in the thumbnail pic, I’m pretty sure I found that at a TJMaxx. It is from the sporting wear area. And the lettering on back is worn so I can’t even tell you the brand😕 or I would at least be able to give that. I’ve had it for a long time. I like that it can dressed up or down. And layers layers layers are essential 😝

Hey Randy! It is an ikea shelf. I used to have essential oils on it. I have since change that because even though I had them stuck with little gels to the shelf, they kept falling.
@@LadyBugout I love essential oils. Cedar, lavender, Eucalyptus, Jasmine. What I do is soak cotton balls in the oils and place in a snack size ziplock bag. Or a cotton ball in a sunny window will warm the oil and release the scent.
I really think it's great how organized you are. It's frustrating for me because I have never been able to do that. I use medium canvas bags, open on top with handles. Not the best system but gets me by. Please don't shame me. I'm sensitive.
So basically I don't ever need to plan stuff again, I can just watch this video before I hit the road for the first time and I'm all set. 👍🏽 Perfect!

I absolutely love the jacket that you're wearing in this video with the mesh sleeves and the camo where did you get it or what brand is it?? Also where did you get the dividers for your soft storage bins?
I get asked that often. It was a gift to me, but I think they said they got it at Nordstrom rack or something like that. Wish I could find them too-I’d love to have a spare in case this one gets too old. I’ve had it for four years and I love it.
As for the bins, they came with the dividers in place. It’s just fabric which I like because it has some give to it.

i use packing cubes for my in season clothes. with a dog and travelling the dusty desert, i couldn't do the simple method you use- too much sand and dust and dog hair 😬.

You Lady Dee, are certainly the sort of person I'd like to see on the road. You're such a lively, bubbly, fun sorta girl that i'm sure would match my way of living life . However, unless you ship that ingenious little Red Connect over to Europe, more precisely, to Switzerland, the possibility of "seeing us on the road" are virtually non existant. I don't fly very well (hence the van), but I do eat eggs!!
If you should ever get to Switzerland, get in touch. I'd gladly be your travel guide.., that is, my little french van build and I. Stay safe, happy travels, Steve.

Hi, love all of your videos! Just checking on the measurements to ensure mine are not too long. Purchasing my van in a couple months using yours as inspiration. Question...the link is to 13x13x6 bins but in the video they look longer/larger. Are all of your bins 13x13x6 or 24x12x6?
They are 13x15x6 I couldn’t find the exact ones I have. Basically they had to fit under my bed base which is 40x30 and 8 inches high

Curious about the specifics of exactly what you used to build out the overhead storage cubby and how you did it. Also interested in what type of rug you have and how you installed it. Great suggestion! I will go into detail about that in an upcoming video☺️ I do have access to the water jug, but not from garage. I tried to figure that one out. Not until I rebuild my cabinet some day. For now, it is actually more convenient from inside with how I refill it.

Hi Sonia. Hmmmm. If you are referring to the one in the thumbnail pic, I’m pretty sure I found that at a TJMaxx. It is from the sporting wear area. And the lettering on back is worn so I can’t even tell you the brand😕 or I would at least be able to give that. I’ve had it for a long time. I like that it can dressed up or down. And layers layers layers are essential 😝

Hey Randy! It is an ikea shelf. I used to have essential oils on it. I have since change that because even though I had them stuck with little gels to the shelf, they kept falling.
@@LadyBugout I love essential oils. Cedar, lavender, Eucalyptus, Jasmine. What I do is soak cotton balls in the oils and place in a snack size ziplock bag. Or a cotton ball in a sunny window will warm the oil and release the scent.

I really think it's great how organized you are. It's frustrating for me because I have never been able to do that. I use medium canvas bags, open on top with handles. Not the best system but gets me by. Please don't shame me. I'm sensitive.
