    Oh, try opening packages before you leave the store parking lot. Sometimes they have recycling bins out front, either way the packaging can be properly disposed of before you put it away.

    Lady Bugout.... ok... I've watched a bunch of your videos and still have not seen your 'toilet'. I think in the "how I make my bed" you pulled out from under something, a medium small rectangle or square plastic (?) type of pot that you said was you toilet....and YOU WOULD SHOW LATER. Well.. I can't find your explanation.... so please tell me what that is, how you use it, etc. Thx! Judy Utah

      Ok. I’ll get into more detail about it in a future video. But, it is a compost bin from IKEA. I use it because it fit under the bench. Definitely not for everyone as it is quite small but it works for me perfectly. I have a wide mouth plastic jug for #1

    What I do is fill up the square plastic container with the other garbage until the container is full, then put the plastic container into the plastic bag. That way there's no need to cut the hard plastic container and the paper trash can just be wadded and stuffed into the container. So you have nothing left but the plastic container to go into the bag.

    I love all your ideas! Now why didn't I ever think of cutting up the trash?!? I know some people use a 5 gallon bucket with gamma lid for "smelly" things when they don't have access to a dumpster for a few days. I was going to try that in a 2 gallon size, but even that will take up too much space I feel in my little Kia Soul. I planned on getting a couple cute pillow covers for a jacket & blanket perhaps. Love your "blanket pillow"! I have microfiber towels on my list. I love the packaged quinoa, etc. idea. I have to say I absolutely love the laundry strips most of all. I didn't even know such a thing existed!! Thank you so very much for sharing all your great finds. Love your videos.

    Okay, you're creative and seem to naturally REPURPOSE items; Just what is needed for van living! I have an easier water system and toilet system (I think similar to Marie's, except I use biodegradable bags, t.p. and bio wipes) I put a small layer of pete moss before and another layer of pete moss after... then, with a shovel I have the option to dig n' bury or put in a refuse bin asap. I pee in a gallon water jug. A woman can use a large car- oil funnel to pee.
    Yeah, you definitely need a "bug out van" with the stress of a big family. Your grandaughter is a great hack :)
    You know, your van could be easily turned into a LADYBUG! A few black lines around the hood, and a few
    dots here and there; it would certainly tie the "idea" together! ALOHA, Cha'

    Boxes, glass jars and steel cans can all be recycled. What do you do with the empty packets, plastic containers, and plastic bags when it’s time to discard them, since there’s NO “away” in the phrase “throw them away”? Easy solution. Just don’t buy them in the first place.

    Hi. Can you do a segment on your electrical system in your van. Do you use solar or have a shore cord?

    • @LadyBugout
      @LadyBugout  2 роки тому

      I do cover some of that in other videos. I have a simple set up. I just use a Jackery power station. I do have a noco shore pore plug if I ever need it. My solar is portable also. So I don’t have wiring through my van for anything. All USB rechargeable things that I use my Jackery to charge up. Hope that helps!🐞🚗🐞

    Time 7:20, I get so many plastic grocery bags that I’ll never run out. The most that I’ve accumulated were three bags. I deposit my in trash cans entering the stores or rest stops. Also I use those bags, one for socks and one for my underwear. There is a wire deviider between front and back. I’ve cut away the part behind passenger seat, but left the top part on to hang my T-shirts as a curtain between front and back.
    The bags that I get my veggies in , I reuse those for dirty shoes or wet garbage.
    My bed, I’m using a camping gear bed roll from “Wiggy’s” in Grand Junction Colorado that good below freezing.
    (I need to invest in a good camera for pictures)

    After watching your other video showing the Voited blanket pillow, I whipped up a waterproof cushion cover (made from PUL so it's fabric on one side and laminated on the inside) to put my kid's sleeping bag in.
    Now it does double duty in the car when we go camping in the back of our Prius! 😊
