I hella have nostalgia goggles for this movie but I still think the concept is kinda strong? Old, washed-up superhero who lost the use of his powers trying to get back into it is a fun idea. If it wasn't a 2000s family movie, it might have worked a bit better.
Honestly, same. I still think most of the jokes land. Not the snot and fart ones, but the others are fairly good slapstick. Not everyone's humour, but nothing ever is. Its a silly movie with a sweet heart about found family. And the movie was never really about building up to some insane cool battle. I personally thought it was well-paced and showed off the whole point well enough, they _did_ train enough and helping each other _does_ help make incredibly difficult situations easier. And on a personal level, I just never liked Sky High enough to rewatch it more than twice. The whole "abandoning his friends for new friends" bit just made me hate the main character and I found the older woman pretending to be a teenager to go out with the mc seriously disturbing. Still, Zoom had plenty of the same flaws you find in a bunch of early 2000s movies, but I was glad there wasn't as much sexual harassment in there as most shows and movies had.
I want to say, as someone who enjoyed a lot of fairly bad 2000s superhero movies, IIRC the movie "Push" does this but for an older audience. Plus it's an oft overlooked entry into the 2000s superhero filmography of Chris Evans.

I’ve always hated this movie. I only watched once, but it left an impression on me for how bad it was. Obviously a major issue is that it barely follows anything like an actual film structure. It’s mostly a collection of montages. But I think its biggest problem is that it’s not possible to feel anything towards the villain when, while mentioned a few times throughout the film we only get to see him right at the end. Look at, say, the first Harry Potter film, where something similar happens, but the difference is that the villain is still working towards a goal and trying to get the heroes out of his way rather than being trapped in another dimension doing nothing. He has a presence. The weird thing is, I feel this movie was meant to have something more. If you take a look at the picture of Zoom’s old team you’ll notice that Alexis Bledel from Gilmore Girls fame was one of the members. Seeing how she was still popular back then I doubt they would cast her just for a split second picture shot. I believe they were planning to shoot scenes with the old team (most likely the intro would have been filmed rather than made with pseudo-comic art), which could have gone a long way into making us more invested into the characters, especially the villain. Who knows what happens. I suppose they ran out of budget.

Surprisingly, the effects are fine, but everything feels claustrophobic in an unintentional way. Like the budget constricted them
I dig the Pops in the background
1:53 Oh yeah i remember specifically this line in the trailer! I'm old!
Oh no Tim Allen in the Zoom suit kinda looks like Black Panther, it's literally the White Panther meme.
wait not the kids having those firefly phones😭 my brother got his out of a cereal box (or that's how i remember it, i could've made that last part up i guess)
I suppose they ran out of budget.
my memory fuses this movie and thunderbirds together lol
this movie, RV and How to Eat Fried Worms are movies I keep trying to forget exist, honestly 😫all the clichés/predictability in these movies I just can't 😭😭
The only reason why i still kinda sorta remember this movie is because of the song Don't Touch from Ashley Tisdale 's album
