He really was the Disney XD equivalent of Cam Brainard, Disney Channel’s golden age announcer. I feel like there’s a lost art of TV announcers. My all time favorites are those two and Nikki from Cartoon Network’s City era!
I am convinced he had no script he was just shown random clips and they said go and he just started saying everything he saw without stopping.

It seems to me that Rudy decided to stay in the end because he didn't want to become stuffy and only teach champions. He didn't want to just sharpen swords, he wanted to forge them. He wanted to keep fostering students like the rest of the gang; if he didn't get to train white belts anymore he wouldn't be able to do that.

It was kinda sad seeing the cast getting smaller and smaller with Eddie leaving and then Kim. But Kickin’ It is still one of the best shows ever

Honestly one of my favorite things about this show was how they handled Jack and Kim's relationship after Olivia had to leave. They never gave Jack another love interest or gave them any unnecessary long distance relationship drama (which I feel like they would've done had Taylor stayed for more episodes) that a lot of shows tend to do. And I love that Olivia was able to return for a couple of episodes especially for the finale.
I wished Taylor would’ve stayed in more episodes so they could expand on the Jerry and Taylor relationship
Even though Eddie was easy to write out, I really missed him as a kid. He was one of my favorites, I always liked how he was portrayed as the younger brother kind of character who is always willing to keep trying to get better at his skill. Plus this was around the time Brady left Pair of Kings as well so that hurt even more.

Jack versus rudy was the highlight of the series. It was a moment where the series kept to its core and stayed grounded in the sensei student relationship. And it showed off Jack's worst traits without making him look like he going threw a villian arc. Jack going down was not only humble but showed why rudy is the master he is and cememted a powerful moment that stuck with me more then any other moment in the series

I'll be honest. The next time I rewatch Kickin'it. I'm ignoring season 4 because season 3's Finale was the perfect cap off. Jack and Milton Join a Spy Team. Jerry Transfers Job Locations. Rudy Trains a New Generation of Kids. Kim goes to Otai. Jack and Kim FINALLY get together all the way. ABSOLUTELY PERFECT
The only reason you stay for season 4 is if you're heavy into Kim and jacks relationship. But same

Or have Kim on a Facetime Call every Now and then.yeah the actress was busy but there was a missed opportunity in Jack and Kim's Dynamic as a Full on Couple.
@@RedKnight26 I think the only thing wrong with season 3's ending is that it was so sad. I get that endings are supposed to be sad, but Kim and Jack technically broke up in that episode. But season 4s finale is basically just a cliffhanger.

I wonder if the "Jack and Milton as spies" spinoff being scrapped had something to do with K.C. Undercover. As in, either the Kickin' It spinoff evolved into that show, or the spinoff was scrapped because it was too similar to K.C. Undercover. There was only a year (almost exactly) between the end of Kickin' It Season 3 and the premiere of K.C. Undercover, so it's not unlikely that the production of the two coincided.
Personally, it would have been weird that a karate show would have a spy spinoff and not like a ninja or being a warrior, but it probably would be typical and nickelodeon's supah ninjas still being around before it ended.

@lukedonabedian It also didn't make sense when they said that the hospital was destroyed when that didn't happen in the show. The last episode was Oliver and Kaz getting superpowers and Oliver's mom being a supervillain. Plus, Leo and Adam didn't join, and most fans liked those two.
I had the same thought But with lab rats instead of KC. Since the spinoff would Also be similar to that show. Groups of teenagers fighting crime and saving the world, with middle aged men as their mission leader. Went into more detail in my own comment but ye.
Find it hilarious that Eddie is faded out in the thumbnail being a reference to how the show just acts Eddie never existed when Alex Jones left the show.

As one of those girls who watched Kickin' It for the ship I can totally say it was 100% worthy. Disney ships can feel forced and unnecessarily dramatic with them getting together just to break up so seeing a cute friends to lovers that we know from the beginning they liked each other and seeing their bond grown as part of this awesome friend group but having a special connection between them was amazing.
Seriously , I understand why Olivia was absent for the majority of Season 4 , but still having a karate show without a Girl is like having a party without music

I was incredibly annoyed that Sam was written out of the show so easily. They didn't even have to bring the actor back if he was too busy or he got too old it's just weird that Rudy never even mentioned his adopted son in season 4
Zack from Suite Life definitely had a lot going for him. He was a very street smart kid who constantly ran circles around Cody when it came to life skills, despite Cody having better grades. Remember Club Twin? Zack was the reason they succeeded, even if he got too ambitious near the end.
And let's not forget the Summer School episode that actually explored how smart he really was and why he had that attitude towards school.
But yeah, they took that all away when they went on that boat.
Everyone got flanderised on that boat. Cody became neurotic and obsessed with Bailey, London was a walking rich airhead punchline, at least Moseby had his relationship with Miss Tuttweiler. Woody was was also a walking punchline generator, usually kidcom level toilet humour.

I think the first season of On Deck was pretty good, upon rewatching it last year. Definitely can see some of the changed (worsened) dynamics, and also a noticeably lower budget, but it kept up what made the first two seasons good and genuinely had some of the best jokes in the entire series even. Honestly, I prefer it over Suite Life's third (and final) season, which felt very off to me when I revisited that. Felt like the Drake & Josh Season 4 in it being 'the same' but also punching up the wackiness and flanderization to absurd degrees.
That said, I've yet to rewatch 2 or 3, and even I can remember those being on the weaker end of D-Coms...
@@blazingwaters7469 The plots for later seasons of On Deck were definitely out there, like a whole Star Trek parody where George Takei played London’s descendant, who was somehow even more infantilised than her! Or Cody being in a time loop, or him having an AI crush on him. There was the line “I have had it with these [foghorn blares] snakes on this [foghorn blares again] ship!”, though, that’s fantastic. The show did an episode exploring Brenda Song’s Thai roots, something that would carry over into her Amphibia character.

While as a kid I was really bummed about Eddie not being in season 3. If there is one good thing that came from him leaving is that there were no more Eddie, Milton and Jerry B-plots those were always my least favorite as a kid. Honestly thinking about it more I think season 3 is the first time it felt like Jerry and Milton were able to really get A-plots without involving the rest of the Wasabis. Thinking about seasons 1 and 2 I think the only episodes where Jerry had an A plot were the ones where Olivia Holt was gone filming Girl vs Monster and Miltons only A plot lead was the one where he met Julie. Other than those episodes anytime they were the main character of the episode it was always focused on the wasabis as a whole.
Also for Kim it feels like the inverse where there more willing to give her B-plots separate from the rest of the episode, because off the top of my head the christmas special in season 2 is the only other time she led one. Other than that the B-plots were lead by Rudy, Eddie, or the three stooges most of the time.

While I haven’t gotten to ur thoughts on season 4. If there is one thing I can give it credit for is that unlike most Disney XD shows Kickin It did a pretty good job of keeping its major side characters around. It’s not like lab rats where it felt like as soon as they changed location half of the side characters dissapeared most of kickin its major ones still got an appearance or two.
also the side cast in kickin it was honestly way better then the side cast in lab rats falal phil is an absolute homie it was cool seeing his actor be in cobra kai

It actually makes sense why Rudy passed the job this time, Rudy is a person who believes in the underdogs and those deemed to have little talent. He gets joy from watching and helping those people grow into their best selves through Wasabi’s training. The rooster given to him consisted solely of black belts and other proven champions. So Rudy’s job isn’t really training these students, more that he’s overseeing they stay in shape. A job like that would be boring and unfulfilling for Rudy as it’s the same as letting someone else play throughout a whole video game and you step in to deal the last few blows to the final boss.
The origin story of the Wasabi code makes no sense because Bobby Wasabi is the one who created the Wasabi franchise 😂

No i get why rudy didn’t leave, he finds beauty in raising the the kids he mentors, and he finds his purpose in helping the kids grow up. With already masters of there craft there is nothing to mentor or teach. Something he expresses discomfort with when they do the Jake becoming Sensei episode.
I remember watching Return of Spyfall because it was really fun and enjoyable to me when I was a kid. And hats off to Scotty Dunn for his role as Shane because he plays it so well

It's nice to know, as far as we do, that the cast of 'Kickin' it' hasn't kicked the bucket due to drugs and alcohol. Too often young child stars, even from the family friendly Disney Channel, get caught up in the race to fame.
I don’t think Rudy stayed in Seaford just cause he didn’t want to change his life, but it was more about the joy he had teaching little kids and white belts, that’s why he asked about them. Cause it’s not the same to teach to students who are already black belts and almost fully finished than to teach those who struggle and see them grow as he watched the Wasabi’s grow

I really think Kickin it should have ended in season 3. The season finale was a good send off and was lead way to a potential spin-off with Jack and Milton. If they had good writers for the spin-off I think it would be a huge hit( in my opinion).

Tbh in my opinion Leo’s s4 hair was ridiculously long and it was hard to look at him when his hair is down. Mateo’s hair looks cool and he definitely grew up the fastest of all them in my opinion

Kickin It started out very strong but ended with a whimper. Especially with season 4. Season 3 had some good moments and interesting stuff but it didn't feel the same as season 1 and 2.

I would have liked it if Rudy left for ohtai and then as he was leaving he gives Jack and Kim responsibility over the Dojo and after that when they walk in the Dojo the Wasabi Warriors see a group of young kids and one singular girl (yes a joke) and then they start class by explaining the code it would be really nice that way I think also maybe a full series flashback where Eddie is in it and then end

I loved Kickin' it when I was younger, back when Disney XD was better. After season 2 I realized that Eddie wasn't there anymore and it made me sad 😔, but that was his choice to leave the show.

I would’ve genuinely loved Spyfall. But since that was brushed over and instead we got a horrible season 4 I think that making Grey and Shane (or at least one of them) core cast members of season 4 would’ve been a really good idea. There was already built chemistry between them with Jack and Milton. Jerry seemed to be apart of more of the Bplot stories which still could’ve worked out but I would’ve loved to see how he got along with the other teens more. Idk how it could’ve been pulled off properly but it would make the cast feel more complete filling the voids left from the lack of Kim and Eddie.
Also, my theory regarding the kids still being in high school is....They were 100% finished with high school at the end of season 3. But once they got a new season, they had to revert that because it's a disney teen show and having it focused on young adults no longer in high school was not ideal for the channel (again, all the main and supporting characters would be out of high school). So they're "in school still" but let's be real, they're not.

It didn't fall off. I love this current era of Disney XD. It's basically Cartoon Network. It's where Disney airs cartoons all day. You can count on them for Big City Greens, Phineas and Ferb, and Gravity Falls reruns.

Wow, I forgot how accidentally racist the Mid 2010's was. Like a whole cultural appropriation story episode that includes white people portraying characters of Asian decent, going so far as to name one of them Jack Hai. I totally get the attempt at the joke being "Haha he's still named Jack" But the Hai is kinda... funny in a different not so good way, considering Hai is often what someone says when doing a strike in Karate. Either way, interesting to see how even just not even a full decade ago stuff like this could be aired fine with no complaints except, "Oh it might be dangerous for kids to replicate".

I will forever remember this show, I did karate most of my life and my sensei told us about this show in class one week so my sister and I watched it religiously. I really wish they did the spy show and looking back on the retrospective, they should’ve done the spy fall thing mid season to actually give it a chance and season 3 could’ve had a lot of seasonal stories woven through it. But the only reason I’m leaving this comment is because I disagreed with your opinion on the ending, Rudy staying was the best ending. Season one Rudy would’ve probably jumped at the chance for the money and prestige of teaching advanced students but Rudy stayed because he realized he was more fulfilled helping kids who were starting make the journey to becoming great, that’s why he asked where the white belts were he wants to help kids grow
i'm with ya i really disagreed hard with that take on rudy should of left also this doesn't diminish anything about him if anything him staying actually shows he's grown up he literally said here I can make a difference versus being a grandmaster where everyones already a champion thats shows how much he's matured was a real L take on his part.
At first, Jack scaling that building was the moment I thought the show jumped the shark, but then Jerry HAD to go to space. (I’m writing this at the space episode recap so if something else happens that tops that..)

Season 4 overall probably due to the unexpected renewal and rushed production as a result felt overall noticeably formulated even during its original run. Both the A and B plots in most of the episodes even though had some cool scenes just seemed to follow the formual too much to the point where you knew what was most likley gonna happen. Also despite being the main lead Jack was in a lot more B plots that season which in a way wasnt really bad as its good to give other characters the spotlight and main stories from time to time. But it def felt like it was running on fumes by that point 🤔
First off wanna say both of these videos were amazing, loved every second of it. The clip show at the end of this really made me remember why I loved this show so much as a kid so I thank you for that 👏
