This was a fun idea I had a few months back, unfortunately there arent many feats for any of these characters at these times so its purely speculation but let me know what you guys think if you disagree! Power scaling is basically pointless in the series. Your vids are super entertaining but if you try to make this into a science you will fall into the "pan is born planet-level plus plus" (what does that even mean?) etc. pseudoscience and start to sound like a maniac. Characters win when the stories demand them to, there's nothing else to it. There's no point to power scaling. There is no right or wrong in these debates.
I am also an amateur power scaler so I get what you mean, also you did an excellent job with what you presented, you've done good work and don't let the comments get you down ( even though I'm an amateur power scaler I'm also a theorist where I speculate about dragon ball but mostly the saiyans)
It sucks because I hate they sidelined her so fast. Like I wish she got to be more involved in the Buu Saga like let her go with Gohan and she gets turned to stone too which would give Gohan even more reason to beat Dabura

Imagine if he did know; what would he have done with Bulma and Chi-Chi in DBZ? Would Chi-Chi return as a prominent fighter again after Gohan's birth? Would Bulma have been affected (or *as* affected) by Beerus' slap? It could bring up a lot of interesting questions, and if considered, a lot of interesting answers as well.
I believe that as long as a saiyan has their tail their ki is basically always on guard and enhancing the saiyan subconsciously ( goku with out a tail at current BP got hurt by a bullet but kid goku with his Tail at a power level of 10 wasn't hurt by bullets at all) a saiyans tail is very important in so many subtle ways that only become apparent after they lose their tail ( so sad )
At least we know that Bura at a power of 36 (same as Krillin as i recall) can deflect bullets. And i dont recall Yamcha at 15 (at start) being able to do that. Its not like we had many opportunities for that, but it just means we cant confirm if 10 is always enough to block bullets from other sources
Not all bullets are the same. There's a significant difference between a 22 and a 45. There's a significant difference between a regular bullet and a hollow point. And then there are even special armor piercings rounds. And when Goku gets shot by a bullet in super, it still bounces off of him. It did hurt him a little, but so did getting shit when he was a kid. As a kid the bullets bounced off of him, but he still reacted in pain, and he reacted in greater pain than he did when he got shot in super, and getting shot pushed him back and ok his ass as a kid, while it didn't move him at all in super. And the guns in super are probably 40+ years more advanced than the guns in the original series. It would make sense for the technology to progress over nearly half a century, especially with all the stuff thats gone on on that planet during that time. I wouldn't be surprised if capsule Corp was responsible for greatly improving firearms to fight against the red ribbon army and gero's androids. And I wouldn't be surprised is some secret red ribbon tech got exposed after Goku took out the red ribbon army for the most part.
It would've been nice to have another female fighter in the Z gang besides 18, but of course, they had to make Videl another housewife. I know that after the Spopovich incident, it does make sense for her to want to give up fighting, but they could've still have her be a fighter for a little fun at least, or as a way for her to spend time with her family, sparring with Gohan for a little bit, or even Pan as a friendly mother daughter bonding, maybe show her some moves.
True, but she isn’t a housewife. She has a career running a dojo. But I agree with the sentiment. She never seemed to advance her training, despite teaching martial arts even now. Her husband is Gohan, her father-in-law Goku, Brother-in-law Goten, etc. she has access to all of these powerful fighters and seemingly never bothered to learn more about Ki from them. Seems inconsistent with how she wanted to learn in Z. Unless, she has and we just don’t know. Maybe she knows she won’t be as powerful as the others so she doesn’t fight with them but she’s learned more since then.
Excellently analyzed on saiyan bone density, but I think that Goku at least would have higher than human bone density. While he would have acclimated through his childhood, he's spent LOTS of time on worlds and in spaces with different and extreme gravitational conditions. Given that his DNA has solutions for these conditions, it makes sense that he could fairly quick adapt back to higher gravitational conditions. And given the amount of time he spends in the room of spirit and time, his time experienced is greater than the timeline of the narrative. Also his training, constant training, would have this effect. Hardly unique to saiyans, Goku would definitely know that he needs to build up the physique to properly use his power. I mean, he talks about it all the damned time. Part of that would be having bones strong enough to carry the impacts he inflicts. Obviously ki goes into that durability as well, but the heartier the organic tissue, the less ki would need to be focused there. - but that's probably a moot point on anything with an AP beyond building level.
It's Important to remember that power levels aren't linear. A normal guy has a PL of 5 yet piccolo with 400 can blow up a moon. Yet a farmer with a 100x power up isn't going to be a moon buster. So even if Videl is 50x stronger she won't be moon busting any time soon.
SSJ1 is said in the guides to be mostly linked to power levels/battle power, especially when it comes to the 50x multiplier (they always say 50x battle power rather than 50x strength). So while the era they were introduced in already made power levels into a linear scale, there is an argument for a theoretical early SSJ (in the pre-300s level of power) being an exponential increase.

That's why grade 2 and 3 are referred to with more specific language because it's more of a specific buff to one stat and a nerf to the other. So just because the lower power levels aren't linear doesn't mean that ssj will be giving a greater than 50x boost. Kinda like how Babidi measures battle power in kili yet base Goku keeps up with yakkon who is an 800 and then Goku goes ssj and is only 3000. Battle power isn't a power level increase it's just an overall stats increase
Videl can literally fly and create ki balls, her power level is way higher than 5. 5 is just how much a non ki using human has, Videl could easily be at around 100 power level, which would mean that she could actually destroy the moon if she got a 50x boost.
The tv show The Orville explains why a being from a higher gravity planet will eventually become weak if they have prolong exposure on planets with lower gravity. The solution in The Orville universe is, beings from higher gravity planets would need to train extensively to reduce full body degradation ie bone density. Its interesting that in DB they in a way explains why saiyans wouldn't become weak on Earth. Since both Goku and Vegeta trained in potent gravity 100x,300x, and 500x respectivly they pretty negated any effects from being on a lower gravity planet.
That comes from NASA's monitoring the muscle and bone density of astronauts who have spent an extended period of time in a zero gravity environment. The Orville is a great show though, glad we're apparently getting another season.
Well if she beats krillin, but krillin is able to stall SSB Goku before TOP, and SSB Goku bodies Golden Frieza, who stalled Broly for hours, well then Videl would pose a threat to even Gods of Destruction. It really depends on "which" krillin or "goku" you compare to huh 😅
I would love Videl to have more significant role in the series. As much as with CHi Chi who got to a power level of hundreds without Korin, Kami or else. Hwer potential is insane and its so tragic that she has become so blunt character.
Small correction: In the time it took Goku to get to a level to beat Nappa and, with allied help, beat Vegeta, the human Z Fighters spent half that time to get to the same level under the same mentorship. Humans and Saiyans aren't any different in potential, it's just that Humans aren't very obvious, when they enter a fight, their power is set, but Saiyans and Humans are not the same in what gives them power the best. Whis mentioned once that "I swear, I can try to teach you Saiyans all I want but you seem to learn best just by beating eachother up" or something else along those lines. The way Saiyans (and iirc, even Vegeta's mentioned it himself previously) get the most power is from recovering stamina, and the main way they spend it is through combat or through enduring extremes, which is why Goku gets so much from weight training versus Piccolo who gets much less from it. Humans primarily get their power through training which is, in a way, very dependent on the teacher, a human fighter either needs to be profoundly intelligent to come up with new ways to train themselves to keep rising to new heights or to find a sufficiently knowledgeable teacher to train them. The real reason why Humans don't rival Goku in power is because none of them wish to do so. Tien wishes to train others at his dojo, Roshi just wants to enjoy retirement, Krillin's a cop, and Gohan while having good reasons that he could use to continue training. Videl unironically could be a contender and have pretty decent reasons for striving to build strength both narratively and characteristically. Nobody in Videl's life is exactly telling her to Not train, like Gohan has with Chichi.
With ki control, videl enhances the ultra megaton punches and the Satan's omega round house kicks, she has gambit like kenetic ki blast projectiles now should she get super sayajin mode, give her the chain dart belts for or nunchucks as her martial arts ki powered movements would dominate like Chi-Chi's ox queen ki powered horn slash and helmet blaster
The issue with your theory on Videlle super Sayan is, that it needs a lot power and stamina to be able to hold super Sayan. Because of that, her power level would need to be higher to begin with.

The 22nd Tenkaichi Budokai, is the benchmark of definitive power levels that normal earthling‘s never surpassed. Goku at 15 180, tienshinhan at 22, 175. Despite popular opinion, Goku and Tienshinhan were not equal, they were very close in power level, but Goku display Sapir your strength and speed this is why they are not equals. Master Roshi tower level 139 is the benchmark. In DBZ the punch machine showed Mr. Satan at 1:37. I believe the Dow is at 160 possibly higher. But for this conversation I will keep it at 160. Goku‘s power level at the start of DB is 45. Nine months of training with crawling under Master Roshi, Goku was able to double his power level play senior at 90. Master Roshi did secret training and this art, putting him equal to go to at 90 disguise as Jackie Chun in the tournament. There is a difference between a normal fighter and a supernatural fighter. By definition Fidel is a supernatural fighter but the lowest level of one because he only has one skill of supernatural is in possession of our arsenal. Which is the power of flight she does not possess energy projectile,. Well she also has the ability to dodge a bullet this makes sense because he has some form of basic knowledge of internal/internal energy a.k.a. “Ki” energy. In the freezer heart, Vegeta reached the power level of 1,200,000, Goku reached the power level at 3 million. In their base forms, this is a key requirement. For this conversation we will ignore this key requirement. 160×50 = 8000. But Del has a super Saiyan what does the power level equal to Nappa. The reason why Nappa & Vegeta were shocked and worried how about Goku‘s power level stated clearly “ it’s over 8000!!!” Is because a power level over 8000, is stronger than Nappa’s maximum power level which measures in at 8,000. At the beginning of dragon ball, Goku’s power level of 45 cannot be counted as bulletproof. Because it is the only time we actually see Goku actively tank bullets. All throughout the rest of the story arts in dragon ball, which he Goku effectively dodge bullets with his body or deflect him with this power pole. It takes a requirement power level 300 to become bulletproof and destroy the moon. The moments where Goku master Roshi and Colin are hit with bullet do not count because that is simply comedic relief. All three definitely do become bulletproof overtime in the story development but not initially as it was shown in comedic relief form.
Agreed with everything else you said, but according to various sources - my most credible being the Dragon Ball Dictionary which I own - Goku had a power level of 10 - not 45 - at the very beginning when Bulma meets him, and shot him with her gun. Which hurt, but didn't pierce his skin. So he's about as bulletproof as actual 'bulletproof' armor: as in, it'll still hurt, but it won't kill him. But everything else you said, yes, I agree. Videl would be much closer to 150 than what is said in this video.
just clearing this up. chichi has a confirmed battle power of 300, roshis was 180 when he blew up the moon. so chichi could destroy the moon nearly two times over. add on the facts that she knows kaioken, maybe up to x20, and was able to percieve goku fight hit in timeskip, she is most likely the strongest human, even if this theory is possible.
Y'know the whole S-Cell thing was originally stated in an interview. But this idea honestly would be good to actually show it in the story itself. Even with with all the in world scientists all we know is that Saiyans and Humans are incredibly similar when it comes to their biology.
IDK. By Super, Krillin was a master with a high power level and training by gods - plus tons of experience - and he gets pierced by a normal bullet. Yet Ep 1 kid Goku got point blank shot multiple times and it didn't pierce skin. I think that suggests goku has a higher base durability due to his species.
The point you made about Mr. Satan taking a normal earthly, versus his daughter Fidel kicking a supernatural fighter is not a fair comparison. And here’s why. Mr. Satan checked in early with the intention of not killing him. That shows that even in it and read state Mr. Satan was holding back a tremendous amount of his power level if you were not holding back he could’ve easily killed the earthling. The point of context that is easily missed when it comes to the deal is that she is fighting a superhuman fighter or a supernatural fighter. She could not afford to hold back because if she did she would have been killed or permanently injured. The jail gave a killing blow, however due to the advanced magic of a wizard, he is able to shake off a killing blow. Mr. Satan could’ve easily killed that earthling, but he chose not to. This shows two different circumstances and the reasoning why there are different outcomes. Mr. Satan has no knowledge nor understanding of key energy. If he did he would be able to dodge bullets just like your daughter, but to go to an even higher level he would also be bulletproof if he had a higher power level. And if he understood the concept of the energy. He energy is what takes a normal fighter and brings them to the level of supernatural. Mr. Singh is the most powerful normal Earthling. Because she how because she now has the ability to fly technically Vidal Vidal is not a normal Earthling.

My only issue is that, how is Videl's power level only 10 if she can land clean and powerful kicks on Spopovich? His power level is more than likely in the hundreds, so it's best to assume hers is around 100, which means she would have a power level of about 5,000 in super saiyan, which actually surpasses Nappa's power level. However for the sake of it, let's say her power level was 80, that still means her strength Rivals Nappa in super saiyan.

Being hit into the mountain you have to include the distance and the speed. The distance from the ring to the mountain is many times further than mountain to the ground.
the saiyajin have been proven to be more durable than humans by the fact kakaroto can easy survive planet vegeta's increased gravity that would kill a normal human while having little to no PL.
like can you even fathom the strain in the heart and brain this would cause? that a fetus can survive and develop in such environment let alone a baby is a incredible feat of durability, also the fact he did not EXPLODE from internal pressure upon lading on earth is another feat of durability.
I think the initial estimate for Videl's power level of between 5-10 I think is inaccurate. Videl is stronger than her father, who won the Tenkaichi Budokai before the cell games. While we can't say exactly how strong Hercule is. I don't think it's unreasonable to put him relative to Goku, Roshi, Tien, Krillin, or Yamcha during the 21st Tenkaichi Budokai. Given that Goku has trouble against Nam and that Krillin has trouble with Bacterian, we can say that the general competition of the Tenkaichi Budokai, isn't terribly far behind them during that time. A lot of semi-official power levels for that time list them with a battle power of around 90-110. Roshi I believe has been listed as having a power level at the time in the 130's. While Hercule doesn't have a technique such as the kamehameha, which multiplies battle power for burst attack potency(allowing Roshi to destroy the moon). Given this and other notable contenders being close to strength as Roshi such as King Chappa, we can estimate that the general competition in the world tournament are at least close to 100. Hercule can be assumed to around that relatively safely. If Videl is "far stronger" It wouldn't be unfair to put her power level at 150 or greater. Personally I estimate about 200. Given she was able to fly and the only human to fly with ki in OG ball was Tien, who had a power level around there IIRC. With the 50x multiplier this would put her at a PL of 10k. In the daizentsu this is enough power to destroy a "small planet", I believe it was also stated there that "earth" is a small planet. Not bad to be a planet buster comparing to Earth standards.
What I take away from this is what I take away from every power scaling video: Power levels are bullshit. For real though, it's literally just a story device that Toriyama used to demonstrate how unreliable and meaningless such a number would ultimately be. This is evidenced by the fact that the Power Level readings were, in fact, always unreliable and meaningless.
Correct takeaway, but incorrect on them being unreliable and meaningless. Toriyama threw them out of the story _because_ they were so accurate that they spoiled fights before they even happened. Scouters were unreliable. Proper power levels were so rigid and unmoving that they forced Toriyama to inject Goku with a 375x boost (1,875x boost if you include the difference between Kaioken x4 and Kaioken x 20) between the end of the Saiyan Saga and the fight against Frieza just so he could barely keep up.

Power levels -> strength isn't linear early on. 5 is a human level of power and 139 is a potential moonbuster, for example. But comparing power levels directly to each other still works. You can say, for example, a power level of 200 is double that of 100, as you are comparing the numbers themselves rather than the level of strength they represent.
I know I'm late on this but could I perhaps think that they could have a higher power level than 8 and 9 because it didn't blow my use the scouter to figure out the power levels of Krillin and master roshi or so
Krillin was never neck and neck with Goku lol. Goku was always far ahead of him and Goku literally held back in every single fight. Even in the 22nd WT it was stated Goku held back against krillin

Obviously ki goes into that durability as well, but the heartier the organic tissue, the less ki would need to be focused there. - but that's probably a moot point on anything with an AP beyond building level.
It's Important to remember that power levels aren't linear. A normal guy has a PL of 5 yet piccolo with 400 can blow up a moon. Yet a farmer with a 100x power up isn't going to be a moon buster. So even if Videl is 50x stronger she won't be moon busting any time soon.
SSJ1 is said in the guides to be mostly linked to power levels/battle power, especially when it comes to the 50x multiplier (they always say 50x battle power rather than 50x strength). So while the era they were introduced in already made power levels into a linear scale, there is an argument for a theoretical early SSJ (in the pre-300s level of power) being an exponential increase.

That's why grade 2 and 3 are referred to with more specific language because it's more of a specific buff to one stat and a nerf to the other. So just because the lower power levels aren't linear doesn't mean that ssj will be giving a greater than 50x boost. Kinda like how Babidi measures battle power in kili yet base Goku keeps up with yakkon who is an 800 and then Goku goes ssj and is only 3000. Battle power isn't a power level increase it's just an overall stats increase
Videl can literally fly and create ki balls, her power level is way higher than 5. 5 is just how much a non ki using human has, Videl could easily be at around 100 power level, which would mean that she could actually destroy the moon if she got a 50x boost.
The tv show The Orville explains why a being from a higher gravity planet will eventually become weak if they have prolong exposure on planets with lower gravity. The solution in The Orville universe is, beings from higher gravity planets would need to train extensively to reduce full body degradation ie bone density. Its interesting that in DB they in a way explains why saiyans wouldn't become weak on Earth. Since both Goku and Vegeta trained in potent gravity 100x,300x, and 500x respectivly they pretty negated any effects from being on a lower gravity planet.

Small correction: In the time it took Goku to get to a level to beat Nappa and, with allied help, beat Vegeta, the human Z Fighters spent half that time to get to the same level under the same mentorship.
Humans and Saiyans aren't any different in potential, it's just that Humans aren't very obvious, when they enter a fight, their power is set, but Saiyans and Humans are not the same in what gives them power the best.
Whis mentioned once that "I swear, I can try to teach you Saiyans all I want but you seem to learn best just by beating eachother up" or something else along those lines.
The way Saiyans (and iirc, even Vegeta's mentioned it himself previously) get the most power is from recovering stamina, and the main way they spend it is through combat or through enduring extremes, which is why Goku gets so much from weight training versus Piccolo who gets much less from it.
Humans primarily get their power through training which is, in a way, very dependent on the teacher, a human fighter either needs to be profoundly intelligent to come up with new ways to train themselves to keep rising to new heights or to find a sufficiently knowledgeable teacher to train them.
The real reason why Humans don't rival Goku in power is because none of them wish to do so. Tien wishes to train others at his dojo, Roshi just wants to enjoy retirement, Krillin's a cop, and Gohan while having good reasons that he could use to continue training. Videl unironically could be a contender and have pretty decent reasons for striving to build strength both narratively and characteristically. Nobody in Videl's life is exactly telling her to Not train, like Gohan has with Chichi.

The issue with your theory on Videlle super Sayan is, that it needs a lot power and stamina to be able to hold super Sayan. Because of that, her power level would need to be higher to begin with.

Agreed with everything else you said, but according to various sources - my most credible being the Dragon Ball Dictionary which I own - Goku had a power level of 10 - not 45 - at the very beginning when Bulma meets him, and shot him with her gun. Which hurt, but didn't pierce his skin. So he's about as bulletproof as actual 'bulletproof' armor: as in, it'll still hurt, but it won't kill him.

just clearing this up. chichi has a confirmed battle power of 300, roshis was 180 when he blew up the moon. so chichi could destroy the moon nearly two times over. add on the facts that she knows kaioken, maybe up to x20, and was able to percieve goku fight hit in timeskip, she is most likely the strongest human, even if this theory is possible.

IDK. By Super, Krillin was a master with a high power level and training by gods - plus tons of experience - and he gets pierced by a normal bullet. Yet Ep 1 kid Goku got point blank shot multiple times and it didn't pierce skin. I think that suggests goku has a higher base durability due to his species.
The point you made about Mr. Satan taking a normal earthly, versus his daughter Fidel kicking a supernatural fighter is not a fair comparison. And here’s why. Mr. Satan checked in early with the intention of not killing him. That shows that even in it and read state Mr. Satan was holding back a tremendous amount of his power level if you were not holding back he could’ve easily killed the earthling.
The point of context that is easily missed when it comes to the deal is that she is fighting a superhuman fighter or a supernatural fighter. She could not afford to hold back because if she did she would have been killed or permanently injured. His power level is more than likely in the hundreds, so it's best to assume hers is around 100, which means she would have a power level of about 5,000 in super saiyan, which actually surpasses Nappa's power level. However for the sake of it, let's say her power level was 80, that still means her strength Rivals Nappa in super saiyan.
At least we know that Bura at a power of 36 (same as Krillin as i recall) can deflect bullets. And i dont recall Yamcha at 15 (at start) being able to do that.

I think the initial estimate for Videl's power level of between 5-10 I think is inaccurate. Videl is stronger than her father, who won the Tenkaichi Budokai before the cell games. While we can't say exactly how strong Hercule is. I don't think it's unreasonable to put him relative to Goku, Roshi, Tien, Krillin, or Yamcha during the 21st Tenkaichi Budokai. Given that Goku has trouble against Nam and that Krillin has trouble with Bacterian, we can say that the general competition of the Tenkaichi Budokai, isn't terribly far behind them during that time. A lot of semi-official power levels for that time list them with a battle power of around 90-110. Roshi I believe has been listed as having a power level at the time in the 130's. While Hercule doesn't have a technique such as the kamehameha, which multiplies battle power for burst attack potency(allowing Roshi to destroy the moon).
Given this and other notable contenders being close to strength as Roshi such as King Chappa, we can estimate that the general competition in the world tournament are at least close to 100. Hercule can be assumed to around that relatively safely. If Videl is "far stronger" It wouldn't be unfair to put her power level at 150 or greater. Personally I estimate about 200. Given she was able to fly and the only human to fly with ki in OG ball was Tien, who had a power level around there IIRC.
With the 50x multiplier this would put her at a PL of 10k. In the daizentsu this is enough power to destroy a "small planet", I believe it was also stated there that "earth" is a small planet. Not bad to be a planet buster comparing to Earth standards.

Power levels are bullshit.
For real though, it's literally just a story device that Toriyama used to demonstrate how unreliable and meaningless such a number would ultimately be. This is evidenced by the fact that the Power Level readings were, in fact, always unreliable and meaningless.

Scouters were unreliable. Proper power levels were so rigid and unmoving that they forced Toriyama to inject Goku with a 375x boost (1,875x boost if you include the difference between Kaioken x4 and Kaioken x 20) between the end of the Saiyan Saga and the fight against Frieza just so he could barely keep up.

Power levels -> strength isn't linear early on. 5 is a human level of power and 139 is a potential moonbuster, for example.
But comparing power levels directly to each other still works. You can say, for example, a power level of 200 is double that of 100, as you are comparing the numbers themselves rather than the level of strength they represent.
