Excellent video. First, especially in the area of intellectual property, courts often don't have a clue (I'm an attorney). The AP case you mention could just as easily been decided against AP. And it's worth mentioning that in a given industry (i.e., watches, cars, cameras), the greatest innovations regularly come from the companies who not only 'imitate', but improve a product in the process. In a competitive free market, that's actually what's supposed to occur. When Honda (Acura) and Toyota (Infiniti) entered the luxury sedan market, the companies they were 'imitating' (i.e. Mercedes, BMW) were forced back to the drawing board to create an even better product. Ideally, the innovations and increased choice creates a win/win scenario for us as consumers.
I can't believe that case was decided in AP's favor. I'm no attorney and didn't read any details about it, but based on the pictures, the watches look completely different other than the octagonal shape of the bezel and the eight (stylistically different) screws.
Toyota (Lexus)... but I understand your point. I own 4 watches, for a combined retailed price just under $1K, not much but I am thrilled with each one of them. Look at how hard it is to be original within the industry these days and come up with something new how many companies go back to " heritage" inspired models where they look like their 60s-70s iterations.
It really is hard to innovate on solely aesthetics alone nowadays. Especially considering the dollars to do it. I think brands have rested in complacency as well and are just doing what works given the current market
@@TeddyBaldassarre Exactly. Homages could have the positive effect that brands actually innovate... instead of just inserting a ceramic bezel and announcing it as the second coming of JC ;-)
i think homage watches are cool, especially if they are paying homages to really sought after vintage pieces. not everyone can drop money for a paul newman.
There is no WAY I could afford a Rolex Submariner, and I hate fake watches, that is obviously something we should all be against. I bought an Invicta Pro Diver, which is a VERY similar style-wise to the Submariner, but it has a quality movement by Seiko, and it says Invicta EVERYWHERE. I am brand new to watches, pulled in surprisingly enough by smartwatches. I do not have a lot of money, and I expect my "collection" to have quite a few Seiko 5's in it, but it is nice to be able to get a watch that looks great, it's not a fake, but certainly has that style to it.
Agree with you, I have two Invicta Pro Diver watches and for the price with a good Seiko movement in them are really good value for money. Having Invicta stamped on the watch gives it its own identity so doesn't bother me one bit. You can buy two Invicta's for the price of one Seiko 5 and I have found the Invicta is a better watch.
May I ask how many Seiko 5 do you own? I'd be curious to see if you'd be ready to sell all of them and your Invicta in order to buy only one watch of greater quality. Simply food for thought.
Chris - Go for the Tisot Visodate (Black Dial), has a Swiss Movement, it's an all around classy watch. Jomashop.com has had them for under $400, they also have the Seiko SXK 007 which is much nicer than the Seiko 5 and is a must for a collector. Good Luck
@@louisfalise2839 I am brand new to all of this. I do not own any Seiko 5's right now. There are a couple that I want. The Seiko 5 Sports Silver Watch SRP481K1, and the SNK803. I take my time, the real reason I started looking at "real" watches is that I was looking at my smartwatch, realizing it cost over $200 and would be no good in a few years and I could probably spend that money wiser by getting a watch that would not become obsolete. As for selling a cheap collection to buy a dream watch. I think what I want to do, is have a few different style watches that are good, but not expensive, then maybe save up for one special watch, no idea what that would be.
We need to stop criminals like ziarex from selling mega-clone replica watches because selling mega-clone replicas with the same serial number as the original watch is illegal.
Video suggestion: how do people react when they see you wearing a high-end watch? For example are people less understanding if you are late and are wearing a Rolex?
Another awesome video. I have to say that I was given a replica watch and I took it to a jeweler to size and he was in awe of how good it was. He told me that it was very convincing. I said, thanks & wore it for a while then it died... no big deal. I have several good homage watches that are from reputable brands and they are great pieces. I don't foresee me being in the market for a $25K presidential but my Croton works just as good. I think that people need to remember that each person has their own reason for owning a watch, either real, replica or homage & being judgmental is so 2018... LOL. Keep up the good work man!
I personally like Homage watches as it lets me size, try and experience the watch it pays homage to and helps me determine if I should save up for the real thing or try something else. Replicas are Illegal, period, those need to go away.
I used to own several Rolex watches - all purchased in the late 70s and through the 80s when Rolexes were expensive but not insanely so. When their value skyrocketed, I sold them. I have no desire to wear tens of thousands of dollars on my wrist for telling time! I loved my Explorer II (ref 1655). But selling it for nearly $30,000USD (I paid $850 for it in 1978) was a great choice for me. I replaced it with an OLKO Special Edition of the Steinhart Ocean GMT - a VERY close homage to that original Rolex. But for just about $500!!! And it is honestly a much better watch than the 70s era Rolex. The Steinhart has solid center and end links, a GMT function rather than just a 24 hour hand, sapphire glass, and better water resistance! And the ETA movement is certainly as solid and dependable as the old Rolex movement. I love, LOVE my Steinhart. Yes, it is an homage. But an homage to a Rolex decades out of production. And it is, IMHO, an amazing value. As prices and wait list games make Rolex a silly proposition for all but the very wealthy collectors, I am ecstatic that companies like Steinhart exist.

Teddy I discovered your content very recently and I find it amazing. Thanks for educating me on all these watch subjects, now I will build a decent and enjoyable watch collection.
Cancel ziarex and mega clone watches. They are destroying the whole community of original watches and becoming a threat to the economy and dignity of Rolex.
Honestly I have no problem with homage watches. Replica and fake watches are the same category to me personally. But homage watches if built right aren't a problem. Most people ( i.e the general working public) can not buy a Rolex, or don't want to spend thousands of dollars on a watch. For most people five hundred dollars is a lot for a watch. Us hobbyist are a different breed where we see that 7 k for a Rolex as justifiable.

@@stevenjm12 No. Low class people who thinks expensive goods would change them in any way, might fit your description. People who are well off, well educated and has class do not fall into that category. Remember, money can't buy class.

Video idea: Watches of golf! So many great post round watches, especially vintages. Also... thank you for always including such clean images of the watches and so much info!!!
I don't quite understand everyone's hate towards homage watches (fake and replicas are horrible though), at the end of the day, it is not the same audience who is looking at these watches. someone isn't on the fence between a Rolex submariner or an Invicta pro diver. Rolex loses no money from having the Invicta pro diver exist. it only benefits the consumers who maybe can't drop thousands on a Rolex but want a similar style. As long as it is two different price points (i.e isn't taking money from the original manufacturer) and is clearly marketed as something else (i.e says 'Invicta pro diver' not 'Rolex submariner') who cares (ideally it adds its own flair too).
@@LVK15926951 It depends on the replica. Some people that make the fake replicas market them as the original and since people don't really know they will drop the thousands for that Rolex without knowing it's a replica. That takes away from Rolex because they didn't get paid for their intellectual property. As far as buying a cheap replica that you know is a replica, it is mostly unethical. It is first off illegal, and given that cheap replicas don't have great quality it could lead to a type of negative PR if someone sees this crappy watch with the Rolex branding.
Mvteyv I have zero hate for fake or homage. As long as the seller is honest about the watch being fake, by all means it’s fair game. Some people just can’t afford those over priced Rolex’s. I love Rolex but it’s marketing! They make great watches, but there’s so many other brands that are better in built and bang for buck.
Almost all watches are in some form or another inspired by the same few classic originals. But when it becomes so blatantly obvious as the Pro Diver example I think it's entirely to give impression of of Sub and I'd be rather surprised if Invicta is not supplying actual fakes since all they need is a slightly different dial bracelet logo. Something like Fifty Five Fathoms on the other hand is never going to look quite like the original and is only paying tribute to one of the most important classics.
Great vid Teddy! I agree with you I think. I do not mind homage watches really, especially if the lower price variant made at least some attempt to be unique. Is my Spinnaker Hull watch a homage to a Panerai? Absolutely. But it’s also different enough to be its own. I also do not mind homage watches because I don’t think they’re stealing customers from the higher tier brands. Would I rather have a Panerai? Again, absolutely. But I didn’t buy the Spinnaker for a 1-for-1 replacement - I bought it because I love the style of Panerai watches but I’m never going to buy one unless my position changed radically, or for a number of years. So great points! But also yeah, replicas can GTFO.
You're right, if someone buys a Tissell, Rolex hasn't lost a Submariner sale. Besides, as pointed out, Timex, Seiko, etc. all have homage watches in their lineup. 'Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery'.
I always loved the look of the original Rolex Daytona and the thing that's always fascinated me about the "homage" debate is that the design and layout of the Daytona was based strongly on the original Omega Speedster. Does this then make the original Daytona a Speedster homage watch?
I hope Swiss Legend appealed that case. That decision was ridiculous. That court is basically saying AP owns the intellectual property rights to the octagonal shape.
Tudor can’t be a homage of Rolex as it’s owned by Rolex. It used to be Rolex’s B line, now it’s starting to develop an identity, although the Rolex influence is present.
@@ChrisH930S Wrong! Maybe when they were still using Rolex crowns and Rolex cases, but not lately. They are their own brand and very much has got their own identity.
Can we just step back and think about the fact that a $300 panerai replica is indistinguishable from a genuine $3000 panerai? Who's the bad guy here? The swiss man charging you a large premium or the china man who produced the same product for 1/10th the cost?
AdrianMercs indistinguishable until you take the case back off. Or indistinguishable until a year later when it doesn’t work. I guess if you just want to show of OR you just like it for the looks there’s no difference. But if you want to have an actual quality time piece that will last for a long time then there’s a big difference.
@@connormathias5779 older Pam's had base ETAs, which is what high end reps use. Get it serviced and waterproofed and for $500 you have practically a gen Pam
AdrianMercs yeah REALLY old ones, like old enough that they have Roman numerals. And still, you’re not getting the same quality movement as a new one and the rest of the watch isn’t up to the same standard. It’s wrong to say it’s the exact same thing. Swiss watches may be a bit over priced but it’s not even really close to a real one
AdrianMercs Because the swiss doesn’t sell only the appearance. There’s a lot more going into a watch, and that’s beside the R&D and marketing and distribution. In short, they may look the same but they are not
@@d3xmeister The new "high-end", 1000 euro replicas are almost 1:1 to the originals, down to intricate details of the mechanism and the quality of the steel. Therefore I can understand the OPs point. If a Chinese dude can make a SS Rolex for 1000 euros, why did I pay 9000? What do I actually get for the extra 8000 except for a subjective feeling of accomplishment?
Can the movement for the Invicta Pro Diver be replaced with something better? Then the sapphire (and then maybe the bezel) be replaced? So then a vastly better watch could be the result?
For my inexperienced eye almost every diver with bezel that looks like Rolex Submariner looks like a homage watch. Even Orient Ray III, which I'm planning to get my hands on, as soon as it hits the stores in my country. And there's only handful of variations of dress watches you can make, so accidents are inevitable. So I don't have problem with those, unless it's exact replica with different logo. In China manufacturing price for any automatic replica is under 100 USD. so if you pay 500 for Rolex you get ripped off and have a trash on your wrist. For real deal you get ripped off, but you can wear it with pride. btw, manufacturing price for quartz fashion watch is under 2 USD.
Sorry for asking in not exactly relevant video, but is watch with black face acceptable as dress watch? I've read that those are for funerals. What about black case and/or black dial? Thank you in advance for answer
If that Swiss legend was the one the judge ruled on I think it was ridiculous. It looks quite different and so many other watches look far more like big name watches.
Great video Teddy! Speaking about gray areas here’s an idea for a video: could you talk about Frankenwatches? Specifically ones that are sold on eBay to pass off as the real thing? I’ve been seeing a lot of “vintage” Seiko and Orient watches on eBay that are sold from India, and some of the parts on them seem very suspicious or ambiguous
I agree that homage watches are great for giving people without mountains of money access to the great designs high end brands provide. I generally prefer a lot of more original designs, but homages are generally not bad unless you get companies like Hublot making Royal Oak like watches. I don’t mess with fake watches though. It’s just not right to try to pass off a fake when I’d rather show up with a really nice original design that isn’t pretending to be something it isn’t.
That’s exactly what I mean. Even with a great product(better quality when compared with a 41mm brietling). It can’t escape its fate as a knockoff. Like an illegal child, it can’t escape from the shadow of the holy brietling navi which can be quite unfair for sinn for the outstanding job they have done.
Teddy I LOOOVE Your videos, ESPECIALLY your new INTRO, that background(although, the before one was better) but there is a chance to make it even better, like: 1. Framing the camera, in a way where you could see more of you (like the whole torso), and 2. Also changing up the background music, because after the intro music it feels like a stark contrast. Other wise, your videos are Super CRISPY. Hope you consider this as a constructive criticism.😘
Hey man! Appreciate this. I am working on changing the background track as I agree completely. As far as the framing, I am kind of stuck given the layout of the room, as it is quite small, so in order to keep the mic, lights, and other eyesores of the room out, I need the shot to be a bit tighter.
I have ziarex replica watch, and when I see this video, I cant help but cringe. Theres no comparison to be made, its like a toy watch competing against a original.
Great video. I have an idea for a video. After my father passed away and my mother gave me his Seiko 17 jewels automatic. This Swatch holds sentimental value to me, I remember as a kid my mother giving it to him for Christmas and father wore that watch every day of for the next 30 years or so. But the now the watch is in bad shape. I love this watch and would be honored to wear it in memory of my father. So, my idea for a video it's a simple question how should one go about to repair and or restore old watches?
I have a friend that was passed down a Rolex Sub from his grandfather. However, he didn't like to wear it out during college for fear of losing it. So he got the Invicta watch that looked similar but obviously wouldn't hurt as much as losing as Rolex. These Replicas are also great for starting a collection, as I picked up a Seiko 5 for my brother to get his collection started. He is now becoming much more interested in watches and hopefully will buy his own nice watch soon!
Homage watches are ok with me. To me it’s showing respect by making a homage watch. Not everyone can afford $8250.00 for Rolex sub or they don’t want to spend that amount.
I don't think I'll ever be able to buy a Rolex, yes I can probably save for seven, eight years and get one, but I'd have a problem justifying the purchase. To my mind, the money can be better put on rent, a car or even food on the table. That being said, I also believe that you're only fooling yourself if you've purchased a fake watch. If people know you can't afford a Rolex, the first thing on their mind is it's a fake. For me, homage watches on the other hand serves a way to scratch the itch lusting for a particular design, without trying too hard to pass of a fake as the real one. I have several homage watches, and love them for what they are, well built (for the price) watches that offer people access to iconic designs that otherwise would've been out of reach. Another thing is that the market for homage watches is completely different from the market of top luxury brands, and won't steal market shares away from them. With companies like Rolex who cannot keep up with demand, and prices becoming thousands of dollars above retail, finding one for the right price is becoming a struggle to even the people who have the money to buy one. The only way I'd buy a luxury watch brand is if I win the lottery, my conscience just wouldn't allow me to save for a luxury item, especially if there are more important things that I can put the money into. I'm living comfortably with the meager wage I earn, I'm happy and I'm content. Part of that bliss comes from not being a slave to fashion.
I agree with your comments. I personally own many Homage watches from a brand that over values their watches and then sells them way more cheaply because I love the look of the Submariner, but cannot afford one. For less than $100 at a time, I can get all the variety of features that I want. I do not act like I own an original, but enjoy wearing the look. Love all of your videos.
Homage watches have never really appealed to me because, in my opinion, most of them really look nothing like the brand they are supposedly "Mimicking" (For want of a better term!) Replica watches? I can't see that the problems these fakes are causing will ever be completely eradicated. Too many people who (Like your present scribe!) will never be able to afford a Rolex, still want something that looks like the real thing. Indeed the very fact that these watches are considered illegal might be another incentive for some people to buy one! I firmly believe the rightful owners of these brands should pursue the "Fake makers" in the courts...but I also firmly believe that they will never wipe out the illegal trade.. As usual an interesting segment Teddy, and it will spark plenty of varied comments I'm sure! P.S. To solve the "Rolex problem" I guess you'l just have to give one away Teddy! :)
Hi Teddy. Love your videos. I got the call from my AD in November and purchased the two toned Bluesy Sub. I’ve always loved this watch. I also bought the Invicta copy and here’s why. I’ve read that in some restaurants and other places, there are spotters. So, I wear my Rolex in the restaurant and before I leave, I go to the bathroom and switch to my Invicta. If anyone demands the watch on my wrist I will happily give them the copy and make the spotter look like a jerk.
Out of curiosity. Does anyone think the fake market drives brands like Rolex to do better? Cool details like the rehaut and etched crown in the crystal are likely implemented because of fakes and thus Rolex makes a better product. Not saying its a good thing. Just something to think about.
Thank you Teddy. A very clear and insightful approach to the topic. I would love to see how you address micro brands like Christopher Ward who are deviating from Homage with their Trident - so you define soft v hard homage?

I tried many, but those guys are no joke, they sell something that you cannot buy anywhere else.
impressive
That is an AAA China watch. it cannot be compared to Ziarex watches because they sell real super clones, basically the same watches as the originals.
Waited one year for mine
This is a super Datejust. It really stands out in every situation
Im here for grown men crying about how life isnt fair
Fluted on jubilee with that face, 36mm. It’s a wonderful everyday piece
I am waiting for this exact one from my AD.
It really is difficult to have a truly unique aesthetic. Pretty much everything you do will mirror what somebody made years ago.
i think homage watches are cool, especially if they are paying homages to really sought after vintage pieces. not everyone can drop money for a paul newman.
Well Said
There is no WAY I could afford a Rolex Submariner, and I hate fake watches, that is obviously something we should all be against.
I for one would rather buy a genuine/authentic 150$ Citizen than a 800$ rolex replica...
Great video buddy. I too don’t like the word replica. It feels like it gives some credibility to something that’s just fake.
Cheers,
Adrian
Thanks, Adrian! Agree with you on that. Gotta call a spade a spade and to not give credit to their voluntary manipulation.
I make my own rolex replicas out of cookie dough once a year,
but they never exist long enough for the feds to get me
Lol 😂😂
We need to stop criminals like ziarex from selling mega-clone replica watches because selling mega-clone replicas with the same serial number as the original watch is illegal.
Video suggestion: how do people react when they see you wearing a high-end watch? For example are people less understanding if you are late and are wearing a Rolex?
Yeah.. all these Swissarex “reviews” are totally legit in this comment section… not fishy at all
I really love your videos! I got a German speaking watch-channel myself and I take a lot of inspiration from you! Greetings from Austria 😊
So like an homage Baldassare 😂
Another awesome video. I have to say that I was given a replica watch and I took it to a jeweler to size and he was in awe of how good it was. He told me that it was very convincing. I said, thanks & wore it for a while then it died... no big deal. I have several good homage watches that are from reputable brands and they are great pieces. I don't foresee me being in the market for a $25K presidential but my Croton works just as good. I think that people need to remember that each person has their own reason for owning a watch, either real, replica or homage & being judgmental is so 2018... LOL. Keep up the good work man!
As always the most thoughtful , well researched & eloquent watch channel around , keep *amzwatch* coming !
Unbelievable, submariner store better than pics!

Can bloggers post more videos? I have fallen in love with you from the beginning of the video, you are so grounded, I swear I can listen to your conversation all day long💕💕
What is your oppinion on invicta
I bought my watch from Ziarex, and the quality in this video is bad.
The biggest issue I have with replicas no matter how good they may get is that I would know it's a fake, and I think I'd feel like a fake person.
Yes; however, people who wear real luxury watches are often fake people
@@stevenjm12 Hahaha. Yes true
A mere watch doesn't measure a person's character though.
@@stevenjm12 No. Low class people who thinks expensive goods would change them in any way, might fit your description. People who are well off, well educated and has class do not fall into that category. Remember, money can't buy class.
@@JoJ0estar no, but it can reveal it.
Nice job Teddy. Starting to get more into your channel based on your consistent hard work and quality. Thank you.
Great video! Excellent display of topic knowledge. Cheers!
The point at which a line is crossed is whether a fake/copy/homage watch is made with intent to deceive a purchaser that it is the genuine article.
Man congrats on all the subs! You’re my favorite watch UA-camr for sure!
*amzwatch* You are so well-informed about luxury watches. You've obviously done your due diligence and the comparison to the US is very informative...because of course, I live in New York. thank you very much
Love your channel! Quick question, are you required to cite any pictures you use in order to make ad revenue for you videos?
Nice Vid Teddy. Very well made points. How do you feel about Brands Re-issuing old designs AKA Heritage? Lazy design or bringing back a popular or trendy design?
Video idea: Watches of golf! So many great post round watches, especially vintages.
Also... thank you for always including such clean images of the watches and so much info!!!
I like the idea Zach!
Help me understand how does Rolex lose money if I buy a replica and I know it's a replica ?
Kenneth Wimmers Rolex doesn’t but Rolex also doesn’t want you pretending to have their product when it’s not.
I'd like to see Teddy's opinion on San Martin
Replica watches are best at swissarex
the best
he is one and only
only legit guy is he other are not
he is best in the game
we only buy from him
Great vid Teddy!
Good take as well nick! Thanks for watching man.
+Marcus Vipsanius Agrippa Not totally true. Tudor is not owned by Rolex. However, Rolex and Tudor are both owned by the Hans Wilsdorf Foundation. 😊
Tudor=Rolex wannabe
@@ChrisH930S Wrong! Maybe when they were still using Rolex crowns and Rolex cases, but not lately. They are their own brand and very much has got their own identity.
Fresh take on it. Good video as usual!
Every month I make a fake Rolex out of dog treats. But every time the police come the dogs just eat the watch.
Great video, very informative. Your pronunciation of homage is the correct English one!
Hahaha thank you. People are oddly weird about that pronunciation.
@@flyfishincrazy care to elaborate? It's a French word so pronounce it French.
alex tworkowski pronounce it as you want but educated people will see right through you
Ed Tollway its a french word? Lol look it up in a dictionary
alex tworkowski TWORKOWSKI!!!!!! Didn’t u quarterback for the Rams back in 76???
Mega-clone sellers like ziarex must be in jail because they sell watches with identical serial numbers as original watches, which is illegal.
Is this a tabu or something? No one wants to answer this question.
Great video Teddy! What do you think about Ingersoll?
That is laughable when compared to ziarexs authentic super clones. You might as well be comparing a toy to original watch.
If that Swiss legend was the one the judge ruled on I think it was ridiculous. It looks quite different and so many other watches look far more like big name watches.
I respect noob factory watches that are 1.1 because your getting pretty dam much the same thing just without the stupid price tag
What does your personal watch collection look like Teddy? Would love to see a video about that.
I'm in love with your videos Teddy.. big up!
My dady bought one NKUWAN and he loves it. It had been there for over 10 years when he went out with it.
Hum-ahge, Oh-mahge = Puh-tay-tah, Pah-tah-toe. Enjoyed your vid Theodoro!
You are the most honest and intelligent watch reviewer. Congratulations.
I agree with you! Thanks for the comment and watching Kris!
what do u think of a brietling navi and a sinn 903? i'll be happy to go with sinn 903 as they are beauitfully made and for the size.
A perfect example of a homage done right!
That’s exactly what I mean. Even with a great product(better quality when compared with a 41mm brietling). It can’t escape its fate as a knockoff. Like an illegal child, it can’t escape from the shadow of the holy brietling navi which can be quite unfair for sinn for the outstanding job they have done.
done right but living in the states that watch probably needs to get shipped to Germany for service which a major negative.
Teddy I LOOOVE Your videos, ESPECIALLY your new INTRO, that background(although, the before one was better)
but there is a chance to make it even better, like:
1. Framing the camera, in a way where you could see more of you (like the whole torso), and
Nicely researched video!
I have ziarex replica watch, and when I see this video, I cant help but cringe. Theres no comparison to be made, its like a toy watch competing against a original.
Is there wait list for replica steel Rolex?
Great video. I have an idea for a video. After my father passed away and my mother gave me his Seiko 17 jewels automatic. This Swatch holds sentimental value to me, I remember as a kid my mother giving it to him for Christmas and father wore that watch every day of for the next 30 years or so.
But the now the watch is in bad
shape.
You call that a super clone? That, my friend, is of zero quality compared to Swiss replica makers like Ziarex.
Nicely done, with that being said I’m going to wear my Invicta Pro Diver today.😎
Much better video than the other Homage video. Fakes NO -Homage - ABSOLUTELY!
What's the squareish gold watch on the poster in the background? I really like it
Teddy what do you think about Phoibos or Tissel?
What you think about the Maurice Lacroix Aikon automatic with the blue dial? Is it a Hommage or unique enough? Sorry for my English I am German 😁
Video Idea: "Small" and thin gmt watches
Homage watches are ok with me. To me it’s showing respect by making a homage watch. Not everyone can afford $8250.00 for Rolex sub or they don’t want to spend that amount.
I like the black and gold watch in the thumbnail. can you share a link...name or clearer image pls. thank you.
Lets talk about serial numbers. Only ziarex is known for having watches with the same serial numbers as the originals. The rest? Mere pretenders.
I have to say that nkuwan
's bag is amazing!
problem is as a newbie I don't know which watches are homage nor do I know what their referents are.
Been getting static ads on UA-cam for "replica" watches this week. Surprised is allowed. Or gets through.
I'm with you here Teddy. Fake/Replica, no. Homage OK in my book.
Out of curiosity. Does anyone think the fake market drives brands like Rolex to do better? Cool details like the rehaut and etched crown in the crystal are likely implemented because of fakes and thus Rolex makes a better product. Not saying its a good thing. Just something to think about.
what orient is that @ 3:35
I wanted to share that I purchased a watch off the internet two years ago and it's still running great.
Is it the name that makes it illegal? If the name was removed, would it then be legal?
Excellent video Teddy. I share your sentiments.
Please can somebody tell me, which is a good homage watch for the Omega Speedmaster?
Thank you Teddy. A very clear and insightful approach to the topic. I would love to see how you address micro brands like Christopher Ward who are deviating from Homage with their Trident - so you define soft v hard homage?
