"Home" should be #1. I watched it the night it aired and I STILL shudder thinking about it. That there is some powerful writing and acting. The others? I've seen a few of them, but... nope, "Home" takes the Gold Medal.
That episode was great, but disturbing also.
lil tinks you don’t know the pride a mother feels when she knows her boys will do anything for her. Yeah....um....gross...like times a million.
The ending when the son starts doing his mom made me widened my eyes fucking hell
My biggest problem with Lexa's death was that she was the best character on the show and they gave her a stupid death. She was the best fighter but she died so anti-climatically
I didn't care for her character and I don't agree with her being the best character on the show. But I do think she deserved a better death. I mean c'mon, getting hit by a stray bullet? She should've died in a battle or a fight or something
A bullet kill was mediocre in my opinion
Lexa wasn't the "best" character, she was far from it, she was a horrible selfish character, 1 of the most overrated characters ever created and I like the fact that she died so anticlimactically.
Doesn't that add a degree of realism though?
Why Randall torturing and raping Jamie on Outlander didn't make it to the list? That's one of the most triggering scene I've ever watched in my life. That was like 10 times worse than Sansa and Ramsay scene
What about Jamie the hot love interest beating Claire? And people still think this is romantic?
I can't believe people complained about that scene when the book is worse as that goes into full details at least the show didn't go full on graphic with it
@@bubbledreams6382 Nearly nobody thinks it is romantic by modern morals, but considering it's a story that takes place in the 1600s, you really have to see things in context. In the book it is quite well described how Claire too issue with Jamies behavior and had him promise never to hit her again.
I'm surprised no AHS or Shameless episodes were on this list.
Pareidolia 115 Yeah me too!
Pareidolia 115 I'm surprised that they didnt mention the Outlandet episode where Jamie got raped, that was more traumatizing than Sansa's.
XxPhanieEmoxX I'm not. Jamie's a boy, Sansa's a girl. It's no shock that people had nothing to say about the former.
Because controversy is expected in those shows
Considering the view people have around male rape victims to the point that it's actually normalised in society compared to the rape of women, which is abhorred even by murderers, the rape of a man in anything wouldn't be deemed controversial whatsoever, more like business as usual.
**Insert overused Running out of ideas joke*
This is a good idea for a list though.
Summing up the UA-cam community in 30 hashtags.
well maybe they didn't plagiarize everything this time in a list like their "writers" (if you can even call them that without insulting real writers) always do... Larry Bundy Jr. still would like a legit apology from these wankers for blatantly plagiarizing one of his videos
Nope
In my opinion X-Files "Home" has them all beat hands down! I saw it the first night it was broadcast and it still gives me the willies. I've always believed that it's so creepy because it could actually happen.
shoulda been #1
It’s also based on an actual real-life experience by silent film actor Charlie Chaplin

SO TRUE
Matthew ESC Facts
Walking Dead last day on earth coming soon on the list.
I agree..the walking dead season 7 episode 1...the day will come when you won't be
Why am i not suprised
wtf did Kylo Ren just do...
Meditating Gundam he went full Sith Lord, fuck even Vader murdering little padawans was not....eh no still just as fucked up. Okay, ehm, even Darth Maul brutally beheading people....eh no not that, still just as bad. Okay, even Dooku, you know what Sith Lords are just assholes
Meditating Gundam Adam Driver can do anything look up his movies 🎥 he's one hell of an actor
When he said "I don't know came over me" I was thinking yeah but we know what came over her!
I have....multiple times...
He finished what Vader started.
The outrage over Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken makes no sense to me. I don't see how you can think it's okay to spend a season watching Theon Greyjoy getting tortured, castrated and brainwashed, to see a pregnant woman fatally stabbed in the uterus, to have a character that forcibly impregnated his daughters then forcibly impregnated his daughters' daughters, but one rape scene is going to far. It's especially ridiculous considering that the show had previously included rape scenes that were far more graphic than that one. GoT is widely known for its violent content, there's a warning that appears before every episode of it. If you can't handle watching that sort of thing, the show is not for you.
They can't handle the fact that rape exists in a place they don't even look at I quess
The thing is the rape scene was totally idiotic. Sansa became a stronger, more confident person in season 4. Only to break her character again. Why even build up her earlier then? Sansa is still a virgin in the books, she never met Ramsay and is still in the Vale with Robyn. Why would Baelish accept to marry her off to another man, when he is clearly in love with her (as creepy as it is)? He finally has what he desires, yet ships her off like one of his whores in KL. His moves just don't make sense
1) Because it doesn't happened in the books.
2) Sophie Turner was 18 at this time.
3) It doesn't make any sense Sansa would marry another man and she is actually married to Tyrion. No stop trying to explain how makes sense because it is not.
4) It doesn't make any fucking sense either that Sansa would marry the enemy to revenge like really can anyone explain the revenge plan again??
4) The showrunners was marketing this storyline as Sansa making sacrifices. sacrifice for what?
5) It's 2015 and writers are still writing the "rape makes women stronger" bullshit!!
these comments are wild. "lgbt people are so triggered lmao" - okay but like?? did you hear the bit where there were bomb threats sent to a studio just because ellen came out? that's quite literally the most "triggered" thing i've ever heard.
cait matt - basically everyone these days is bloody triggered even when offense isn't meant to anyone. thin skin combined with obvious political agendas on both sides... as a Dr. who's actually helped two people transition from M to F (specialized in endocrinology), I really stood by them to be supportive as they were old friends even before patients and knew their change would only get harder from both the left and right
cait matt it’s quite funny, someone made a list of movies where LGBT characters are killed and there are way more than I though, should be somewhere in the web
PC Principal you spelled dyke wrong lmao you idiot
PC Principal lmao you did it again you idiot hahahahaha
PC Principal also I reported you bc you seriously need psychiatric help
I'm gay, but I was not out-raged that Lexa died because she was gay, I'm out-raged at the way she died. She was such a badass character, and then to die by a stray bullet by her father figure is dumb. Not to mention bad writing, as Clarke is a goddamn healer and she got shot in the stomach. And the fact they were in Lexa's own palace(idk what to call it or if it had a name, been awhile) none of her guards or anyone else came for her. Logically, she couldn't have died that quickly or at all under these circumstances. Sexuality completely aside, this was bad writing. (i dont mean that her death in general was bad writing, i just mean the way she did. i would be sad, but if she at least died a more glorious way, i'd be happy)
I know exactly what you mean! I was thinking this exact same thing!
Shot in the stomach? And with no medical technology to save her?
Yeah, she would die the same. The stomach is also a vital organ... Vital organs are not only the lungs, the heart or the brain as movies portrait... A serious injury in the colon can be enough to kill a person...
the 100 went down hill its so bad in later seasons making dumb decisions
TheSeoulSword lame.
home on x-files still freaks me out.
Sting Rey My favorite episode. Keep it in the family!
I am from the real Home, PA.
Sting Rey me too
The Peacocks! "I'm hungry" eeeewwww
I do remember that episode now. I don't know why it didn't really creep me out, but I guess my mind was still trying to process the whole incest thing.
"the Puerto Rican's shown in the episode are not shown in a favorable light"..... Dude, it's Seinfeld... Nobody is shown in a favorable light.
What a great point.
Not to mention....it's comedy. It's farce, it's slapstick, it's satire. The showrunners weren't trying to make a serious social statement.
About to say, it's like something being shown in a favorable light on South Park ha ha!
That thumbnail tho....😕
The fact you don’t know what show that’s from is sad
I think Maude is also surprising because this is a middle age woman goes through the abortion.
There is this stereotype that teens are the ones going to the clinics-when really every woman and every age might go through something like this. Kudos to them.
I'm Puertorican and I can confirm that this deserves the #1, the whole country was mad because like always, it was taken out of context 😬.
Also, Seinfeld did a Stand-up in 2014 in Puerto Rico and his promotion was "15 years saying sorry" it was gold.
Whhaaattt??? Game of Thrones, a show that frequently abuses and mistreats its characters, mistreated and abused one of its characters!? Who saw that coming?
It's like people haven't seen Game of Thrones. I saw the Sansa and Ramsay-scene coming in season 4.
Ikr! Also, if people cared that much about REAL rape victims, the world would be a better place.
I have mixed feelings about the Sansa thing, but mostly because I didn't like the entire "Sansa returns to Winterfell" thing. Book Baelish would NEVER have done that; it was just a dumb move.
@Kyel ! Passing someone off as a fair Stark was smart. Making an enemy out of the actual Sansa Stark was quite not-smart. If his ultimate goal was to take the Iron Throne with Sansa, that was an awful way to do it.
Now I know WatchMojo never watched Twin Peaks
Are we talking about Lonely Souls, where the network forced David Lynch to reveal the identity of Laura Palmer's killer? It certainly killed the series, but I think a quality slide and cancellation were inevitable.
WE HAVEN'T MADE IT MORTY. back to the Err... drawing board.
Rick WAWUHWUHWUHW WAIT WHAT RICK? I-I-I eeeeeeeeeeeeee
TheNavyGamer i didn't like it either

How about any episode from AHS hotel....actually the drill-do episode 😨
Hotel? Please, Asylum was the best season.
Hotel is not my favorite season, I just think it was more controversial. My favorite season was probably murder house ☺
Getalene Agnew How about anything from seasons 1-4?
Getalene Agnew Or in Season 1 when Tate shot up his school
Anonymous Candle hell nah 😂 coven is amazing
I really wanna know who's the ones having "outrage" over these episodes
People upset about rape on a show that murdered babies and burned children alive
that was just...ridiculous.. and it wasn't rape.. she lays down expecting him to have his way and he is rough about it.. she never says no get off me etc she didn't want to do it but this was back when it was expected of a woman/bride and that a man had his right on their wedding night..
kimmyfreak200 if you watched the entire show, you’d know it was rape.
kimmyfreak200 it's still rape. The only reason she didn't fight is because he probably would've killed her if she did. Just because it's set in a time where it was more acceptable doesn't mean it still isn't rape.
X Files Home episode was violent and creepy but it had a great plot for a horror story.
The first episode of AHS Hotel anyone
I'm still not over with the Dexter finale. I miss that show so damn much.
They issued an apology for killing off Lexa, did they issue one for killing off Wells?
SlowFlowSen Wells broke my heart he didn't deserve that, and what about having a 13 year old kill herself?
Having Charlotte kill herself was an even worse decision. They killed off a major book character and then the pay off for that story line is 40 minutes of her feeling kinda bad and then deciding she's better off dead and then everyone moves on.
They could have given Charlotte a strong redemption arc and had her come full circle as nightmares about her parents being floated turn to nightmares of her murdering Wells.
With her having to mature knowing she did a thing worse than what was done to her parents and fighting to always do the right thing in the future.
But nope they just had her kill the only fleshed out black youth on the show and then take about a day before deciding to kill herself. It's poor wasteful writing so I never made it past season 1.
SlowFlowSen I wish they made Charlote come bad as a bad ass worrior who was finally able to slay her demons correctly
SlowFlowSen why would a show have to apologize for its decisions to kill off their characters?
@@pwner332 Because people have become snowflakes and the writers have to bow to the audience whims and fantasies instead of outlaying good storytelling
And I recognize that Xfiles thumbnail
The Pilot for 24 could belong on this list. In it, a terrorist blew up a plane. The show was supposed to air in September 2001, but was delayed after the events of 9/11.
Umm where's the Archie bunker episode with the home intruder
That is cringeworthy and controversial
I thought for sure that one would be here. I watched it only a few years ago and it disturbed the shit outta me. I'm pretty sure I cried when Edith told Archie she'd been raped.
Wow I had no idea Ellen acted before her talk show, she’s amazing!
No, she's not. She's a feminist. Never watching Finding Nemo again.
This comment makes me feel really old.... 😕
@@missiecombs7280 LOL, same. I remember watching her and three other comediennes on an HBO special called "Women of the Night" and hosted by Martin Short. It was great!
Lol my bio teacher showed us that x-files episode in class.
What an episode to show! :p Was it Halloween or something? One of my college English teachers showed us The Post Modern Prometheus (X-Files episode) because we were reading Frankenstein. The episode is based off the novel.
OMFG! Why aren’t my teachers that cool😭
No mention of "Last Day On Earth"? Episode 616 of The Walking Dead.
GOWFOWD ZEF AKA 101mythbusters I feel like season 7 episode 1 "The day will come when you won't be" was a bigger contributer, but still, not even an honorable mention
That ne episode of outlander where Black Jack tortures and rapes Jamie should be in here. Also, Mason Verger eating his own face on drugs in Hannibal
I dont watch "The 100" but, as far as i know, they didin't killed that character arbitrarily, the actress had to leave the show due to her new character on Fear The Walking Dead, so it's kind of a empty controversy, in my opinion.
People don't care about facts they just want to whine.
Rule #1 when watching TV, playing a video game, or reading a book: if you're going to let a work of fiction offend you, just tune out and never return. Simple.
From a capitalist standpoint If a work of fiction bothers you don't just ignore it. If you want to keep buying from the publisher or watching network TV here is what you do. With out getting flustered up tell them to make better products or you'll stop buying.
They can only sell things when there is a demand or if its subsidized
Zombitious I agree. Thank u
Zumbitious - The "fans" get outraged so easily and so often it's pathetic.
bishop51807 From a realistic point, that makes no sense, taste is subjective, you might think something was crap but 3 billion might have enjoyed it. This is the problem with the current wave of entitlement. Everyone believes their opinion matters, when unless it's a democratic vote, it doesn't, it's important and it defines you as a person but people should not ever believe their opinion is more important than someone's feelings. People having a rant on fb is more effective than contacting someone who's creating something themselves (which is more than the people wanting to write are doing), to tell them they need to do better, just because they think so. Nope, an adult stops watching, leaves a negative review and moves on with their life knowing that a tv shows content has no effect on their lives and if it does, maybe they need to get help with readjusting to reality.
The end of Seinfeld is number one.
I Just KNOW "Home" From "The X Files" Is Going To Be On Here.
6:33 I Knew It.
MY GURL LEXA
Home was a terrifying episode. I saw when it first aired. The sheriff getting beaten to death with bats while Life is so Wonderful plays stayed with me for years.
I've seen that x file's episode it was scary as hell . Millennium was a the scariest show ever
Home is creepy. I always forget how disturbing the episode is, until I rewatch it. Millennial was great too.
Tbh I thought melisandre burning shireen alive was more controversial than sansa being raped.
“You know it’s like this every day in Puerto Rico” 🤭😮😬🤣😂

#3 Home...
When They 1st Pulled that Lady out from under the Bed & the way She Screamed, Freaked Me The F Out in 1995!
Ill never forget it either. So disturbing!
That Maude episode was one of the best written. Beatrice Arthur did a wonderful job in portraying a woman who had two decisions to make, have a baby at that age or answer a question that many people would be to scared to do or be afraid of doing. You shouldnt be afraid to make a decision if you are not ready to have a baby. Bea did a good job in the episode and the episode opened a discussion during the legal dispute in the 70s.
I'm sorry I could never condone abortion. I understand that Maude and her husband were of a certain age but apparently she became pregnant for a reason. If they didn't want another baby, they should have been more careful or one of them should have gotten fixed. A baby should never be punished for just wanting to exist. Abortion is a major hot button issue and probably always will be, but I will always be pro life.
I condone people who stand up in what they believe. you have your opinion on it and I have mine. Its a decision a difficult one, and even if you plan not to have kids the world can be a strange thing.
_Puertorican day_
Wow, I'm surprised we even have an episode dedicated to us, even if it is controversial
Figured the child mo episode of Different Strokes would have been on the list. Arnold got away but Duddley wasn't so lucky.
Literally why I came here
Dude had a SNIPER rifle " I came up here to kill myself "
Remember when all the feminists said they would never watch Game of Thrones again after the rape scene of Sansa calling it "more unnecessary violence against women"? Yet they are now not only back to watching it but are defending all of Thirteen Reasons Why's graphic rape and suicide scenes that were recommended not to be used by just about every licensed psychologist out there. As they could lead to suicide (and they have in several cited situations from copycats of the show, look it up).
PS the book did that scene way more graphic that Game of Thrones show did. Even if it wasn't Sansa why does that make the impact less important? In the books Ramsey made Theon "get the girl ready for him" by you know, licking her down there. At least they not only didn't go that far but legit didn't show anything and ended the scene very fast. They made it about as tame as they could while still keeping the main thing they wanted to portray which is that Ramsey is a monster who must be despised and killed viciously. This makes Sansa's killing of him later on more impactful.
Never watched it but isn't there a fucktun of violence against men there?
Honestly in Sansa's rape scene I was mostly admiring the absolute A+ acting job of Alfie Allen. You can see the emotion in his eyes as a man who has the power to stop this but is so broken he can't. His whole transformation from Theon to Reek is actually some other worldly award worthy type shit.
That was one of the episode's biggest criticisms. Sansa was raped but people made it about Theon.
Pop Jones dam good acting
The x file episode haunts me to this day...
really...
the red wedding not even an honorable mention
THAT was controversial
killing off 2 of it's main characters in auch a fashion. stabbing a pregnant lady in the belly multiple times to kil the baby first...

This is a great list and a look back on history in general. As a 48yo GWM, who was only out to a few people, at 26 when Ellen aired and as kid when Maude aired I remember well the huge impact and discussions they spurred.
On a side note: with media interests and choices so vast now, I wonder if as a culture we will ever again experience such event(s) that have as much of an impact together.
>Killing someone in a show is controversial because of their gender or sexuality
Ok then.
Top 10 most controversial controversies
How about 13 reasons why. I love the show, but the last episode had a lot of talk about showing the death of Hannah Baker.
Anthony Lucero Oh it wasn't on the list?! I'm surprise.
It's a season finale, so I guess it's on that other list.
What throughout the entire show you didn't know she killed herself for mostly retarded reasons
The show overall is just a big fat no
The cover photo was all I needed to see. That episode scarred me for LIFE!
"Home" It's an X-Files episode. It made it nearly impossible for me to listen to Johnny Mathis again.
I honestly remember seeing the 'Home' episode of X-Files and thought it was one of the best the show had to offer. Felt like this could have been a horror movie all on its own it was that good and compelling.
I'm puerto rican and i thought that episode of seinfeld was fucking hilarious god people need to realize shows like that shouldn't be taken seriously!!!
how about effy's rave overdoes in skins???
Or the scene where freddie died
If I remember correctly Fox did re-air "Home" but it was a one time deal. They re-aired it on Halloween in either '99 or '00. They made a big deal about the episode that night that I had to tape it.
“Home” actually scared me when I watched it in the dark for the first time. I’m hard to scare too.
It's gotta be the most violently aggressive episode I can think of too. So brutal and grotesque.
I've seen the x-files home episode, and it was very disturbing
The walking dead season 7 episode 1.Anybody
Dylan Tka I know, I'm pissed that it didn't make the list, not even an honorable mention
Dylan Tka it wasn't really that "controversial" actually. People especially those who knew the story of the comics already knew what was about to happen when Negan is physically introduced especially when in the comics Glenn is killed by Negan and Abraham's death was long overdue and he was supposed to get that arrow to the eye and not the lesbian doctor so yeah, no suprise there. The only difference was that Glenn had more of an emotional impact especially when they kept Maggie alive (and yeah Maggie is supposed to be dead) and she's pregnant with Glenn's child and the fact that this soon to be father that we all liked gave the death scene of Glenn more emotional impact than it should.
Dickmelson Lupot ya put they don't in the comics threating rick to cut off his sons hand or he well kill he's group that was fu up to
Dickmelson Lupot I didn't know know Maggie was already dead in the comics when Negan shows up. I thought she was there with Sofia.
RckerMom87 Maggie is still alive in the comics
"Home" left me physically ill.
Totally agree with Number 3 X Files 'Home' Episode ! The whole series re-boardcasted again on Hong Kong TV last year. I didn't watch all the episodes. One night I just switched on the TV and then it was this episode. Totally creeped me out T_T
I was going to say every episode of Teen Titans Go, but they said no animated shows on this list, so I guess I'll wait for that list to come out
Haven't seen Degrassi in about 10 years but JT should've been in place
Thunda1986 Yeah still sad or when drake hot shot
#4 Was one of my favorites. I loved that episode and we actually saw it in our Social Issues class. The only thing that disturbed me about that episode was the fact that Walter choked on a chicken bone for a solid 2 minutes and it was played as funny. I could feel that chicken bone stuck in my own throat while watching that.
I had kinda forgotten (or maybe didn't know) about the Seinfeld one, just watched that episode the other day. It's really funny
Deleted episodes....deleted episodes everywhere
it should not be controversial Lexa was bound to die if not shot by Titus then it would have been during A.L.I.E in Polis

Damn. This was made too early to cover all of season 8 of Game of Thrones.
Yup. #1 the long night
Watching Sansa go through multiple rapes each night and then still come out strong, but with lingering pain and insecurities, was something I felt showed women we can overcome and that a man destroying you one moment or multiple moments is not your fault.
I knew Bolton would make it to this list that scene was harsh.
1. "The Bells" - Game of Thrones season 8
Controversial isn't killing off a gay character. Controversial is making fun of gay people.
koth Nope. that's just called comedy
gametime x3 I never said it can't be funny. It's just that it builds up more controversy than a completely unrelated death.
That's a good way of putting it and they definitely didn't do that with Lexa or any of the other gay characters on the show.

The Soprano's had some very controversial episodes. "Employee of the Month", "University", and "Long Term Parking" just to name a few. Surprised that not one single episode wasn't even mentioned in the video, not even honorable mentions.
I agree, make another video of this same topic.

Lmao. Fun Fact: Puerto Ricans are indeed just like that. I'm one myself and I never found myself offended. For fuck's sake, they had a soup nazi, Seinfeld is pure humor. Sadly, we love to say our Island is the best, but at times it's the same thing as a dumpster.
I miss the 1980's.... People just watched t.v. Nobody sat around pointing out what was 'wrong' with it......We just accepted it was acting and didn't apply it to lives. The World today is just too sensitive. :(
