I'm so furious about the HIMYM ending that I'm in total denial. Ted and Tracy lived happily ever after. Barney and Robin never got divorced. The end. True story.
WintherOgames™ Everybody lived happily ever after....such a nice perspective 😭
WintherOgames™ you can officially be in denial by watching the alternative ending, that is what happens then
Drake Smith for me the alternate ending will always be the real ending
Tammy Martinez agreed
+Drake Smith
I haven't fucking seen it. Do Barney and Robin not get divorced?? Does Tracy not die??
What blows my mind about HIMYM is basically "how do you run such a brilliant series, episode after episode, season after season, and then blow it so totally in the last 22 minutes?
Andrew Riggio 43 minutes, the finale was 2 parts so they fucked up twice
They ruined it after 3th or 4th season.
last season is an abomination
"brilliant"
lol
Some of the seasons were pretty great (thinking of season 1, 4, 5 and maybe 6) but otherwise the show wasnt actually "great". It was definantly a great cast and a great set of characters but the writing was often awfull and the episodes extremly predictible once you got past the first couple seasons. As much as the show had funny and touching moments, it also had som really really cringeworthy bad writing and cheasy excecution. Saying that the show was perfect right up until the ending is just not taking it seriously...
But with that said. The ending sucked!

Yeah I mean Barney and Robin could have kids with adoption
I think Watchmojo wanted this list, they had to include other 9 series just for the sake of countdown.
Right? It was so bad I cried lol
Derin Ekşi your are correct! I was so freaking mad when they killed off the mother and Robin and Barney divorced! The show is HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER!!!! 😭😭😭😭
And here’s a few honorable mentions
How I Met Your Mother Finale
How I Met Your Mother Finale
How I Met Your Mother Finale
Last episode of HIMYM? Never heard of it.. it doesn't exist
If it did, it probably sucks
me neither
Your comment.... doesn't exist...mine does
Ah denial
Yeah it does you moron
How I Met You Mother spent series 7, 8 and 9 building up to Barney and Robin accepting their differences, etc.
3 years it took the writers to bring them together.
And then in one shitty 3 minute scene...
Yeah, but it's nothing compared to how long it took them to bring Ted and Tracy together, just to throw Ted together with Robin in the end of the last episode (To be fair a lot of the show had Ted trying to end up together with her, but we knew from the beginning that it wasn't what we should look forward to.).
Truth is: Robin and Barney were a thing since a first kiss, season 3! After that there is no Robin and Ted. Even when they had sex as a roomates, it was driving Barney crazy, like he was so jealous with every guy Robin was dating. And Ted didn't care, he treat her like you know, bone he can't have so noone will. He is such a mean person, like when every time anyone says to him 'you can't' he MUST do it, like this blonde hair. He were 'over Robin' so many times, didn't care and then when se was going to Russia out of nowhere kisses and says 'I love you'. Cool that he not so long before said 'i'm in love with you' so he can slap Barney, and then admits he lied. I'm so angry with this ending, showing no friendship between them (Barney and perfect month? When he did perfect week IT WAS CRY FOR HELP, help him you idiots who suppose to be his friend, get his wife back! And Robin never there, hating Tracy, biaatch :/ ). Tracy was amazing, I only watch last series for her, Lily and Marshall and Barney and Robin, I always turn off last episode before thet say about divorce. My ending is better.
LMAO! Han, you didn't get your way, so now you cry like a fucking baby?
Gecko WHO GIVES A SHIT.
I WATCHED HIMYM FOR THE STORY NOT HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER.
I couldnt care less about the ending.
Again move on with your pathetic life.
Ending is ending who cares its over
I wish i had never seen the last episode
I'm so glad the comments section is full of people who hate the himym ending because I will never forgive them for it
Same tbh it was so disappointing
nandi christine tell me why, cause i can't understand the people that hate the himym ending, it was AWESOME!!!!!
people find comfort in fictional life where most things end in a corny happy way. Life mostly isn't like that and that's the reason why I loved the ending. Life isn't a one way road and there are ups and downs that may set a completely unexpected, but realistic outcome.
I loved the ending
My favorite show in the world I speant a week non stop watching it and when I saw the ending I almost cried not cuz it was sad but because my show as ruined, but it's ok and since then I rewatched it like 10 times!
the himym ending still got me pressed. they spent, what, 10 years building up to the moment we'd FINALLY meet the mother and see her and ted finally settle down after having to see ted struggle for so long and then they KILL HER!! i could've been okay with that if they had let ted be single but no, they had to loop back to the beginning and give ted and robin their moment despite their relationship causing the most tension on the friend group in the entire show.
Why should Ted be single at the end? Whats the point of that? Future Ted and Future Robin are no where near who they where when they first met. One if a widower who was happily married and has two amazing kids, the other is an famous anchor women who has gone around the globe and got to have the adventure she always wanted. They are in two very different places in their life from back then. They have lived their 20 something Dreams and now they have a chance to see if the people they are now, after all the years, all the relationships, all the growth and change, can make a go of things. It doesn't invalidate anything that came before.
It's funny how you say "growth" when the writers themselves were shit at writing character growth and that last season was proof of it. It was ham fisted garbage writing.
I was okay with the death of Tracy, as it actually gave us the reason why Ted wanted to tell the story in the first place. But I didn´t like the fact they had to break up Barney and Robin just so Ted could get Robin back. The only character that made any form of development the last few seasons was Barney, and the writers just said "fuck it", let´s bring back the old womanizing Barney, just so Ted and Robin finally can be together. I´ve never rewatched HIMYM, and I hold the series finale responsible for that.
Just to be clear,... he IS single but still feels the same love for Robin he felt years before that. THAT is the point of the whole series.. YES Robin might not have been the one for Ted, yet he never gave up on loving her. YES he loved his wife with everything he had!!!
Exactly right. When they were together, Ted wanted kids and a family while Robin wanted to be a world-traveling reporter. They both got what they wanted, so they could be together in the end.
I like to pretend that the HIMYM series finale doesn't exist ☺
Basically all of season 9 is not cannon to me
I'm sorry that you missed the entire point of the show and that you expected a cookie cutter happily ever after finale like Friends.
Siarah Talotta Ur not the only one !!
Siarah Talotta I just pretend it ended after the umbrella scene.
There's an alternative ending and it's beautiful. Watch it. There are a lot of videos of it around here. 😉
The HIMYM ending still really annoys me. Tracy dying wasn't a deal breaker, I actually was expecting that's what would happen. And if done right it could have worked. But unfortunately, killing her off just so Ted and Robin could get back together was such a slap in the face that it really soured the whole series. Its really too bad.
Yeah, her absence for the purpose of hiding her identity worked in favor of her dying, but in the end, how it was executed, made it feel like they were just desperate to put Ted and Robin together and it was just shit.
Coupled with the crappy old-man-hair cheap look of Ted and Robin's similar appearance, it felt like the cast got drunk one night, put on bad makeup and made a fanfiction ending..
Even though the mother was absent for pretty much the whole show, they wrote it so that you had to like this mystery woman and I did. They wrote it so well that I actualy almost cried when she died and because of that I wasn't hoping for Ted and Robin getting back together at all. So yeah, the ending was very disappointing. Other then that I love the show and I'm now watching it for the second time. (Honestley, every ending of a good show sucks, who wants a good show to end after all :(
They spent so many episodes showing how Ted and Robin wanted completely different things and weren't compatible. The real problem is the actors' aging required them to tape the scenes with the kids years ahead of time, so they were kind of stuck with the ending they decided on well before the show had moved on.
Who the fuck expected her to die
Chance Catucci if the series had ended when Ted said "and that kids, is how i met your mother" it would had been okay. But also think about this, how did the series began? Ted telling how he felt in love with Robin, so that was the tricky plot
Don't remind me. That ending was the ultimate slap in the face... Everyone lost the slap bet that day
Shamus Quinn 😂😂😂😂😂
Joey Fox This may have made sense on paper, but it was not executed well enough to work.
Joey Fox I feel you, man; I wanted nothing more than for this particular finale to be perfect. I love, love, LOVE HIMYM!
Shamus Quinn it was their plan all along and never expected to get their last season so they had a hard job writing an entire season
What is this feeling that put you in your place
The Avatar episode may not have been its best, but it was still amazing and DEFINITELY didn't deserve to be in this top 10 list. Dozens of shows had episodes MUCH worse
Madie Simmons ye ikr the things they said about the episode were also not true
Jonathan Van Der Zeijden I agree, the episode was not amazing, but not bad by any means, shouldn't have been here.
Agreed!!
Well, if you have an terrible episode on an average show, you get on the list, also if you have an average episode on an incredibly awesome whole new level of awesome kinda show you get on the list too, it wasn't a bad episode but compared to the rest of the show, yes it was
Inca Mummy Girl deserved to be on this list way more than Beer Bad for BTVS. Beer Bad at least had some real comedic value.
The HIMYM ending was terrible, literally nothing makes sense. The only thing I liked was that Barney found his unconditional true love, his daughter...
he's gonna use his daughter cause he's that kind of a pervert
@@nealmiles9070 you are a pervert, no one would ever think of that
Life doesn’t make sense. Ted got everything he wanted in the end
HIMYM finale made me so mad. Tracy and Ted should have stayed together, Barney and Robin should have never gotten a divorce. Disappointing
it was the only think that made sense.
Ted was in love with robin since episode one.
and Barney and Robin were a missmatch from the start.
Wasn't it more so, that Ted chased Robin overly, while Barney and Robin happened way more naturally?
I'm stilll mad about the finale.
Involton Barney and Robin should have definitely stayed together. Barney was never happier with anyone else.
However, the problem is that they already hammered in that Ted and Robin don't work. I mean, it's especially off putting that Robin is being passed back and forth between Ted and Barney. Barney and Robin not working is a bit understandable, but it's especially insulting that Barney has a child with a woman who is never named. There's a slew of problems with this finale to the point that they released an alternate ending. I also think the ending is why the spin off series How I Met Your Dad failed after the pilot.
The Great Divide was just a boring episode but nowhere near as to ruin the series.
i agree, just because it got one boring episode dosen't mean like the show wasn't still awesome
I thought the Great Divide was okay. Bato of the Water Tribe from the same season is much worse in my opinion, but that one is still far from bad, and extremely far from ruining the series.
It's just filler
I agree Kristof great Divide wasn't great but Bato of the water tribe is a total betrayal of character, and was simply way to cringe.
Danneh W not as boring of an episode as A tale to Bosingsae.
If they wanted Ted's wife to be dead for the dramatic effect fine but make him finally move not going back with an ex so you don't have to ruin Barney/Robin couple.
When Tracy was introduced in the final season, with all those wee scenes of her with Ted, I couldn't help but feel happy about their budding relationship (esp. in the Coming Back episode se09ep02). Their moment at the Farhampton Inn, waiting for rooms? I'll be right back? I'll be right here? DUDE I WAS IN LOVE WITH THE TED-TRACY RELATIONSHIP. Billy Joel singing 'Souvenir' in the background made it better.
And then she dies so that Ted could be with Robin... who should be with Barney. Sad.
I think you missed the point of that. You took it to mean that the relationship and time that Barney and Robin had was meaningless, same for Ted and Tracy. But that wasn't it. Barney and Robin were in love, but their own choices and life got in the way. Robin wanted a career that took her around the world and Barney didn't. Either Robin could settle for life in New York without the globe trotting she desired and resent Barney for ruining her dream or Barney could continue to go with Robin and be completely unhappy because his life was as a tag along. Their marriage ended because while they love each other they had grown into people who didn't fit together as a couple anymore. Both wanted different things and their love for one another later helps them grow into different people. Without Robin to help calm Barney down I doubt he would have the emotional maturity to become a father, a happy father at that. Robin traveled the world but she got to see the glimmer of having someone at home, having someone to go home too.
Ted loved Tracy with every fiber of his being. But life got in the way, life happens. We lose people we love all the time, their time with us doesn't become meaningless because they are gone. Because everyone we love in our life changes us into the people we are going to become. Tracy gave Ted what he wanted, a happy life, two beautiful children and the chance to be a husband and father.
By the end of the series both Ted and Robin are in entirely different places in their life than they where when they where together originally. Ted has children whom he loves and adores, had around ten long years with a beautiful and loving wife. Those moments they had don't become invalid because she died they are a part of who Ted is now, she will forever be a part of the fabric of what makes Ted who he is. Same with Robin, she has lived the life she always wanted. Of the person who was free to explore the world, see the sights, and be this big famous news anchor. And now, they are in a place to explore who each of these new people are. This Ted is not the anxious to get married and have kids Ted Robin knew from Season 1-9 he is a mature adult with years of life experience and stories she doesn't know. Robin is not the go getter who puts her career ahead of herself anymore because she is old enough to know there needs to be a balance.
In short the mortal of HIMYM was "Life happens, and every moment of your past, all the relationships both good and bad make you who you are gonna be. And sometimes you become the person you always needed to be."
TheLastSane1 You are my favourite being on this earth I swear to all the 83%’s.
Commander Strax I am so happy to be blessed with two wonderful people who understand the point of himym.
x_coco_x exactly!!!
Commander Strax because it was done poorly and really ending up being a disappointment
Also Barney ends up having a child, which was an unnecessary and rushed attempt to show a change in Barney
Robb Hugh i think that's probably the only good thing about the finale
Robb Hugh what part of that was rushed a shit ton of time had gone by at that point
Robb Hugh that part made me cry though! It was so lovely to see how he realised he could love someone in a way other than sexually by how much he loved his daughter. And the speech he gave when she was born, compared to the same one he tried to use to sleep with a girl... just really heartwarming. That is the only part of the finale I liked
Barney had got married and the divorce wasn't even his fault. We definitely didn't need more convincing that he was changed. Unnecessary for sure.
Tell me about it. All his character development that was progressing since the season 3 finale when it's revealed he's in love with Robin is thrown out the window just for him to get a random girl pregnant.
Almost? Almost ruined HIMYM? They did ruin it. Bays and Thomas should've burned that footage they recorded before the kids got too old. The show changed completely in season six. Tracy was too good of a character and fans loved her in season nine. HIMYM was destroyed in a matter of 120 seconds. Ted's kids brushed off her death as meaningless and we fans were given 20 seconds of grief.
Kris Hopson agreed!
Kris Hopson they literally struck gold and had a miracle happen: the titular character was hyped up for almost a decade before she appeared and EVERYONE LOVED HER! who would have thought the fans would welcome a late arrival set to an impossible stadard?? and then they just..... torched it. why
There's even a whole episode about Ted metaphorically letting go of Robin!
Kris Hopson I also hated how little time was left to grief over Tracy.
Are you kidding me? They start with the mother in the first episode of Season 8 and they showed her again in the last episode! One season for Janine - the most WTF character! Then, one entirety season , the last one, was taking place 48 hours before barneys wedding and they divorced in 5 seconds!! 12+ episodes for what? The whole "playbook in the napkins" kind of thing for what? What a lame show! And think about it, "your mother was in that classroom". He said that on the first episode of season 5!!! Jesus fucking Christ with the plot on that show!
Of course it was going to be How I Met Your Mother, that ending was the worst ending to a TV show in history. I will never be over it. It demolished years of character development and made the whole of season 9 seem pointless; building up to Barney and Robin's wedding, for them to get divorced. Letting us fall in love with Tracy and her relationship with Ted, just to kill her off in the last 10 minutes. Fucking hated that episode more than anything, the blind writers really did us dirty.
THe character development! That was what pissed me off. Like, Barney and Robyn were a horrible match in the beginning, but they both grew and changed. Like, he wouldn't have just started cheating on her. He was totally solid the first time, they just weren't fitting. And he liked that she wanted to travel and live in new places. And yes, it was sweet that he had a baby, but they could have made it happen some other way. And my god the way they treated Tracy. I mean, I had completely forgotten her name, because I think they use it a dozen times? Now she's dead, so Ted can bone Robyn. That doesn't sound like 'I loved your mother and she was my soulmate' that sounds like 'well, Robyn got married so I settled with your mom, and she's dead now, so I'mma fuck your aunt'.
Totally agree!!!
First off, when the show first started they weren't sure how many years it would run, so they planned that Ted and Robin would end up together. The rest was just filler to that point. Second, Barney and Robin would never have worked out - even up to the wedding, he was still being self-serving, and she was too independent for them to work out as a couple. Finally, the mother dying - they hinted as much back in Episode Six of the last season when Ted got choked up as Tracy said "What kind of mother doesn't even attend her own daughter's wedding?" Life doesn't always end neatly - the happiest romances may be cut short, the perfect couple doesn't stay together, and things don't always work out. It wasn't a happy ending, but it was a realistic one.
100% agree
I totally freaking agree!!! I'm actually fine with the mother dying and that be it; like "I know she's been gone for a while, but now I feel like I can talk about the woman I loved," not "Hey, your mom's gone, let me get with your aunt!" It was complete bullcrap, and a massive slap in the face to all the fans!
I know this video is old but i have another three good runs for this episode
1. The Last of the Starks (Game of Thrones)
2. The Bells (Game of Thrones)
3. The Iron Throne (Game of Thrones)
Hot take: The bells is significantly better than those other 2
There are no bad episodes of Avatar
Jay-Jay Prinsloo Oh yes it is.
Sir Kinsella98 I don't think it was that bad, but I haven't watched that episode in a while so...
The one thing that ruined the series for me was the movie
I don't see why the Avatar episode in question was bad. I was surprised an Avatar episode is in this list.
I haven't seen that episode but it seemed to have a good message about unity in crisis and working together. It's a kid's show so I didn't understand why the episode is considered bad.
How I Met Your Mother is my ultimate fave tv show but after the finale, I didn't even watch reruns for a year. They assassinated every character's development in less than 25 minutes. I'll never be over it
Ali Sue I thing it is genius as Max's one is Tracy ,Ted's is Robin ,and Barney's broken heart was healed by loving his daughter unconditionally and Robin could never do that ,and Lily has always been Marshall's one .But that is my opinion .
VACOONZ TALKZ but everybody's "one" isn't even the point. Those characters were more complex than that. I have a way longer defense for why that finale was bad but I don't feel like putting it here and I don't want this to be seen as an argument.
Ali Sue boom I just got lawyered (talking about me )
Ali Sue Wow, it's that bad?
Sidney Wade I have since rewatched the finale... and yes, I can confirm, it is that bad
HIMYM's ending was horrendous. It really reeked of how overlong the show was, and how they wrote the ending for the show they'd intended on (Which was like, 4 seasons shorter) than the show as it actually played out. And they spent those 4 seasons painfully, deliberately, and intricately showing exactly why Ted and Robin didn't work as a couple. And then they just chucked it away to go with an ending written before all that! Huge slap in the face. Much prefer the home video cut which shortens the ending, removing the stuff about the Mother dying, and implies Barney and Robin get back together too. Wish I could just forget the original ending.
Himym was not almost ruined, it WAS ruined
That says more about you as a fan than it says about the show.
It wasn’t ruined. It was one of the funniest shows I’ve ever watched
I can’t find the show and don’t have a subscription to app that’s has it. What happened?
The HIMYM finale was beyond bad and soul crushing, I don't think I could ever watch that show again, that finale destroyed the show for me. The soul purpose for these shows, at least for me is character progression. We get to know these characters and fall in love with them, and since episode one, it is made clear that Robin is not right for Ted, but yet the writers were insistent on their relationship over the series, I felt like the writers were more invested in their relationship than the fans ever were. I always saw Robin as the milestone Teb had to overcome to meet the woman that was perfect for him. But what really bothers me is they managed to destroy the whole progression of Ted's character in one long episode. The whole show focused on this mystery woman and how perfect she was for Ted, only to kill her off? What was the point in that? The moral of the show was to never give up when it comes to love, no matter how hard it knocks you down, and it knocked Ted down hard, like it does for most of us, making it more worthwhile, but no, they decided to eff that and kill off the mother of his children? Still, makes me angry to this day.
"I always saw Robin as the milestone Ted had to overcome to meet the woman that was perfect for him"
But that is what it was, he overcame her and met and fell in love with tracy and they had a loving marriage for years before she died. Then years after that ted thought he was finally ready to move on from tracy and was remembering all the good times he had with robin. But he didn't know how to tell his children that he was ready to move on so he sat them down to tell them the story of he met their mother so as to show them that A: This idea to be with robin didn't come out of nowhere, and B: That he truly did love their mother and spent his whole life looking for the perfect someone which was her but that sometimes bad things happen to the ones we love and that it's okay to move on. Sure it's a sad ending to the show but i feel that it's deserved. The ending changed the entire show and gave it more depth as a whole.
Bingo! People just don't get it.
Lisa-Maree I agree, totally, waste of time watching it on summer vacation for that ending
"Then years after that ted thought he was finally ready to move on from tracy and was remembering all the good times he had with robin."
Yeah and his character had grown a lot by then. In life you learn that when a past relationship doesn't work that you should never focus on solely remembering all the good times. As an adult you realize that there also came a lot of bad times, that's why they're called your ex.
Which is clearly why they never worked out. It was just so dumb for him to go back to her after all that time.
YES VERY TRUE AND SAD :(
Yeah, honestly to me, HYMYM's ending did ruin the show. Just can't get past it. Glad some people enjoyed it but I honestly could not. :(
Kelvin Gonzalez it made me upset. Barney and Robin should've stayed together and if the mother died, Ted should've gotten back with Victoria. Or someone else but not Robin. The alternate ending is way better
Bellatrix 24601 What happens in the alternate ending?
DuoPersona101 Everyone dies of course.
DuoPersona101 in the alternate ending Ted's wife didn't die and I think it just ended after showing that small glimpse of their wedding.
I hated the ending. And not to mention the whole last season was an epic fail.
You wanna hear something funny 😂
The main actors of HIMYM hated the finale too!!!✋️👉🙃
I hear the main voice actors of Samurai Jack hated THEIR finale too!
Not really, Neil Patrick Harris loved it.
I'm pretty sure even God hated the HIMYM finale..
S r everyone hates the HIMYM finale
A lot of people don't. I don't. I just think it doesn't fit in with the 9th season. What if the 9th season had been spread over several years and not just one weekend. What if Ted had met Tracy in Episode 3/4 of the 9th season. Than it would have build up to that instead of stuffing all of it into two episodes. That's what's wrong, it's not the series finale, it's the change of pace between the entire season 9 and the series finale.
The problem with the ending to HIMYM is that it put's Ted and Robin, both in a bad light. Ted's entire story is how he pines for Robin (as his daughter points out), and it's only when Robin is marrying Barney, he decides to take the consolation prize of Tracey. Then, when she is dead, he thinks it's ok to move on, with his friend's ex- wife. Robin is just as bad, as she only wants Ted, when her relationship with Barney doesn't work out, and again moves on with her ex-husband's friend.
All things The Arsenal didn't Tracy move on with max?????? so does that mean that she loved ted less??????
It almost like real life
Well if he had met Tracy before who knows what would have happened. Aside from that I believe the following theory: Ted and Robin are each other's 'The one'. Max and Tracy are each other's 'the one'. Ted couldn't have Robin and Max died before Tracy could spend her life with him, so both went looking for a second-best. But eventually, Tracy dies so she could be with Max again where Ted and Robin can finally be together as well. Aside from that, you don't always get what you want in life, things go wrong. That's a message the show has been telling us for years. People die, happy endings don't exist. Well, they executed that well if you don't believe in the above theory.
Danny 199 I think Max was Tracy's The One, and then Ted was what she found after. And Ted's The One was Tracy, then went back to Robin after Tracy died.
All things The Arsenal Barney was with the love of ted’s life and his ex first. So that argument doesn’t really float. A widower moving on to a former Love is incredibly common.
When Goku turned into a kid back again
Luka Dobrincic That wasn't one terrible episode that almost ruined a great show, that was the first episode of a consistently terrible show. And let me tell you, Goku turning young again was the least of GT's problems.
Yeah and in Dragonball super it's start up again like GT never happend
GT never happend. End of story!
Haha glad someone agrees. There's still a lot of fans for that garbage.
GT isnt canon and has been said so multiple times.
No mention of Dexter?
which episode?
Dexter, period. (ok, ok, last 2 or 3 seasons only)
Last episode obviously
ya it just went down hill after trinity
Last episode is a good choice, but too me the point where I went "fuck this show" was the episode where they revealed Edward James Olmos was just a ghost that followed Colin Hanks around which was an obvious twist that most viewers guest right away. They let it drag out for like 9 episodes.
Almost? Nah, that ending really did ruin HIMYM.
nakaharaindria it completely ruined it
No people are strange.... The end was good
Agree'd I had the ending spoiled for me as I was getting ready to watch the last season. In the end, what was the point.
nakaharaindria omg! Im so glad someone feels the same way! The fluffing killed off the mother and divorced one of the super cute couples (Robin and Barney)! Every time I watch this episode, I’m mad and cry.
nakaharaindria not for me. The last season was horrible, but the ending still worked for me.
How I met your mother final episode made me mad
Most people defending the finale said that "Not everything in life is happy ending, sometimes shit happens". But that's not the point, in fact we had some clues about the mother dying. But that season and that finale were executed poorly. If they made the entire season about Barney and Robin's wedding and Barney character development, you can't rip that to pieces in 5 minutes. Besides, it felt like Tracy was just baby machine so Ted can have children and end up with Robin anyway.
It really deserves the crap it gets.
Also me, but one week later I think (besides Barney character) the end is just perfect.
The HIMYM finale DID ruin the whole damn show for me. Nearly 10 damn years spent for us to literally go back to what happens in the FIRST FUCKING EPISODE. Annoying.
Louie Lozada I feel the same way
you really didnt see that comming?
the whole show was about Ted getting back together with robin...
why would he tell his children a story like that, if that wasn't the original intention?
Yeah, it was poorly written. There was no lead-up to it, the characters were consistently proven to be wrong for each other and the show put a huge emphasis on the story being of how he met their fucking *mother*.
It felt ham-fisted and rushed. They did not know what they were doing. I'm still not completely over it.
+Cornelius von Hardenberg Because the writers didn't know what they were doing. They spent the first five seasons trying to get Ted obsessed with Robin, then they had no way to back out of it and no good way to continue forward.
On the bright side, at least they only fucked up the very final episode. Don't watch that and it's all okay.
Thank You!!! I can't believe so many fans didn't see that coming! It was the whole point of the story!
Cornelius Von Hardenberg*
dont remind me about the ending of HIMYM
I know right? It just ruins a great show. Personally I think the DVD should give the second ending as the official one and have the original ending as a DVD extra. It's just better.
Samy IKR! The alternate ending is way better
Bellatrix 24601 What happens in the alternate ending?
DuoPersona101 Tracy doesn't die, and it can be assumed and Robin and Barney stay together, which is much better than the original ending
Drake Smith Actually Robin and Barney are still divorced.
HIMYM’s finale is a disaster! Ted shouldn’t ended up with robin, she never really loved ted the way he loved her and ted knew she was not the one. (insert the conversation of Klaus and Ted)
Just when I think I'm over the HIMYM ending I watch a video like this and I get pissed off again.
I can accept the mother dying. I can even accept Ted and Robin getting back together. But I CANNOT accept how poorly everything was executed. The first 4 seasons were great and despite all that Ted and Robin went through, I could still believe Ted wanted Robin more than anything. But as the show went on the writers spent years drilling into our heads the ideas that Ted and Robin were just not meant to be and that Barney and Robin were.
Since they made the characters develop in this way, the ending that they chose just makes everything that happened in between completely inconsistent and it made the entire foundation that the writers had built over 9 years collapse in 1 hour.
Late comment but i'll give it a cahnce
I think the ending didnt work for most of the people 'cause there was no motivation to the actions that occurred in "Last forever". Robin and Barney get a divorce after like what 1 doubt about their love to each other and there was completely no motiffs surrounding Ted and Robin getting back together. The writers basically said "we dont tell you how but it happens like this. deal with it." Also if decision about Robin and Ted being together was made while filming season 5 why they didnt make subtle motivation to both of them that they still love each other ?
THIS, THIS RIGHT HERE, YOU READ MY FUCKING MIND. HOLY SHIT. Seasons 1-4 were some of the best TV I've ever seen period. Season 5 was weird with some of the best episodes of the show but also some bad ones and a very forgettable story line. Once season 6 came around it all went to shit. Zoe was such an awful character and it pissed me off seeing how miserable she made Ted and there was no sense of fun and romance like there used to be. Everything was unnecessarily dull and sad. Season 7 and 8 were a bit better, and 9 kind of sucked but was bearable... until the finale. Like Twobit, I'm not mad that the mother died or that Ted and Robin got together again, what I'm fucking FURIOUS about is that they spent 5 FUCKING YEARS "drilling into our heads" that Ted and Robin will never, ever, ever, EVER be together, no matter how much we as fans want it or how bad Ted himself wants it. Every time the prospect of them being together comes up it's shot down in such a brutal way. 5 years we had to endure that, seeing Ted in meaningless and crappy relationships that came nowhere close to when he was with Robin.
And in the Barney proposal episode, we once again see Ted be the bigger man and let Barney have her even though he absolutely loves her, and that's fine I guess, that's who Ted is, no matter how much I wish that for once he would put himself over others. But that should have been the end of it, the potential for Ted and Robin being together should have ended right there, and Barney and Robin should have lived happily ever after and Ted and Tracy should have been the end for Ted's romantic quests. BUT NOOOOOOOOO. They have to completely slap us in the face and make us feel like the relationship between Barney and Robin which we have been watching develop for 5 years is completely pointless and worthless as it fucking ends 20 MINUTES INTO THE NEXT EPISODE. All that time and buildup for literally nothing. And then they having the fucking gall, after denying us the only thing we as fans wanted, to see Ted and Robin end up together because they were PERFECT for each other, for HALF A DECADE, they have them get back together in the LAST MINUTE of the series finale. They made the whole journey of the show WORTHLESS. Tracy was such a pointless character and she didn't get to do anything. They just fucking kill her off after 9 years of building up her reveal.
Ted and Robin should have been together from the start. After Barney and Robin broke up that should have been it for them. The whole ending story arc with Barney proposing to Robin should have been Ted's arc. If they were anyways going to fucking end it with Ted and Robin getting together, WHY GO TO ALL THAT TROUBLE TO CONVINCE US THAT IT WAS NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN. Everyone wanted them to end up together anyways, it's so fucking stupid and shameful and disrespectful to basically put a gun to our head and say "forget about Ted and Robin because it's never going to happen" and then do it in the last minute of the last episode after wasting away years of story and character development. Either stick to Ted being with Tracy till the end and Barney and Robin together till the end, or don't have Barney get married to Robin and have Ted meet Tracy in like season 5 or 6 and have them get married and have kids, and in like season 7 get divorced, season 8 have Ted get back together with Robin, and season 9 make it Ted and Robin's wedding and they live happily ever after satisfying the inner fanboy/girl in all of us. That's far more earned and sensible. That way or something similar to that is how they should have done it if they wanted to go the Ted and Robin route. But what they did was just awful and I will never forgive them for it, ruining years worth's of stories and characters and purpose in less than an hour. Somewhere out there in an alternate universe I hope HIMYM exists and I hope they did the show differently. Others shouldn't have to watch the crap finale we did and see the show self destruct the way it did. I wouldn't wish it upon anybody.
sid srivastava To me, this was what HIMYM was teaching us: You will always have a Robin, someone you keep coming back to, but will never have. And that's part of the journey to finding The One.
I had a Robin, and for years I held on to HIMYM's hope that he was just someone I needed to meet to get to The One. For a while it seemed like that was what Ted was getting to, he HAD to meet Robin in order to meet Tracy.
But all that was ruined in the finale episode when Tracy became a stepping stone to get back to Robin. So now what, is Ted telling us to hold on to that Robin because you will get him/her in the end???
P.S. I know I shouldn't be paralleling my life to a sitcom, but this is just for arguments sake.
Yeah, like why not have season 9 be the wedding for only like - two episodes, and the rest of the time is seeing the mother with ted and the gang, and a slow decline of barney and robin, and even a shocking reveal of the sickness. The entire last season was pretty terrible honestly.
Exactly ! More like the story of how we destroyed the show
Community's choice on this list shouldn't be here. I think it's a great episode that shows the group's empathy. The show was more surreal than this and that wasn't a problem.
I agree. They had a stop-motion episode is season 2 and a video game episode in season 3, so the puppet episode wasn't that out of place.
Simon plus they were not tripping and thinking they were puppet s as The video suggests.it obvious they haven't even seen the episode.
I motherfucking knew it was himym
IKR? They keep whining about it, ALL THE TIME. For once, the writers decided to go according to their plans, and the fandom is unhappy. Well, screw them! That's how shows should be written, not according to every fans whims. Like PLL & TVD, which are the worst series finale to date.
umm, it's in the thumbnails....
Xuekai Du really? you do know alot of the time, what's on the thumbnail doesn't even make the list -_-
I CAN'T GET OVER HIMYM I KEEP WATCHING IT BUT IM SCARED TO WATCH THE ENDING CAUSE ITS SAD AF
wtf really? I actually didn't know that. Why did they put it there then? lmao
The Office: The Boat
Why in the hell would Andy not take Erin with him?
Season 9 of The Office when they character assassinated Andy's character development and his relationship with Erin. Forcing Nellie and the interns (Plop sucks while Clark was ok; not great or terrible just ok), both Andy and Erin are out of character. Jim/Pam forced marriage problems and their version of Plop aka Brian who took advantage of it.
The HIMYM ending was made all the worse by the fact that Ted and Robin were shown to be a disfunctional pair in a relationship.
Am I the only one that enjoyed the Avatar: The Last Airbender episode? I thought it was quite funny actually.
Michelle Smirnova yeah you are
It was not as good as the average Avatar episode but it was far from bad
Michelle Smirnova It's a breather episode, so it didn't have to be amazing. it was fine.
Michelle Smirnova I always skipped it cause it was pointless.
Take This L actually he's not you don't speak for everyone
The Barbados episode shouldn't be on here, because let's be real, Rachel & Joey work better as a couple than Rachel & Ross do, and Phoebe & Mike are up there with Monica & Chandler as best couple of all 10 seasons
That episode of the Simpsons doesn't belong here because you've missed the point: the town decides to "forget" Skinner is an imposter and never mention it again (except once) because there is NO continuity in the series - everything always goes back to "normal" in the series, with few exceptions. It's a narrative that's meant to emphasize that through literally addressing and mocking it.
That's not what the writers say. So no.
It was Lisa, during one episode where Snowball II dies and she tries to replace him/her? with other cats who also die. In the end, she finds a cat who looks exactly like said Snowball II and decides to just pretend all the other cats never happened. Skinner walks by and criticize Lisa for that and that's when she call him "Mr. Tamzarian".
julioagua I think Coltrain has the funniest death 😂
"Avatar: The Last Airbender has bad episodes" is a sentence that should *never* exist in this world. Nuff said.
Lay's Karma Barbie there's nothing wrong with admitting that a show you love has some bad episodes
it worth rewatching when you are older. As a child you like it for the action and the humor but there are very mature themes that make it an amazing show, not just a kids show.
justanotherchannelonyoutube there's definitely nothing wrong with that... But it won't change the fact that Avatar has no bad episode
Jay-Jay Prinsloo I keep rewatching it even to this day 😃 it never gets old and is still epic!
The Divide on it's own isn't bad, it just doesn't live up to the standard set by the rest of the show. Last time I re watched it I skipped it and it changed nothing for the character development or plot. Even the writers disowned it that's why they skipped it in the Ember Island Players episode.
how I met your mother finale sucked because
1: Spent almost 2 seasons on Barney and robin and their marriage ended in 10 mins
2: Introduced mother after 8 years and she dies in the finale.
3: if ted was supposed to end up with robin why such elaborate drama about the mother
4: The show already had an alternate ending that was way better than the one that was used.
The alternate ending was lazy. All they did was cut out the last ~5 minutes of the show.
If they really wanted to fix it, they would have reshot the episode.
No, the alternate ending has a different dialogue as Ted's voiceover. Compare it again.
the finale was sucked not because the mother was dead I don't care about the mother if she is dead (even tho they could give us a fucking reason how she was dead or her last moment or at least her funeral) , but because of the fact that this show is about Ted's love to Robin. it was like "ok kids the point of my story that your mother is dead and I'm totally got over her and I'm still in love with Robin can I go to her please" this is ridiculous and till now I didn't got over this trashy ending!!
Lovelesh Colaco I don't think the last episode of HIMYM as a whole sucked. However, the finale falters because the entire last season focused on whether or not Barney and Robin's marriage would work or not in the time frame of two days. Only for them to get divorced immediately after in the finale. That was just a dumb move all around. The ending could have worked if they focused the entire season on the time that Ted did spend with Tracy after Barney and Robin's wedding. That way we see how Ted and Tracy fall in love as we see Barney and Robin fall out of it. We as an audience would have more of a connection. And when her death came the effect of shock and sadness would have made a great impact for the audience, and would have made us feel grief for Ted. This would give us more of a good reason for Robin and Ted getting together years later with both of them having what they wanted in life. It wouldn't feel forced and Ted telling his kids the story with that intent in mind wouldn't seem like a cheat.
I think whoever plays the protagonist of how I met your mother ruined the whole show. The single most uninteresting character/actor I've see in a show.
Lost sisters from stranger things 2 is up there 😬
She turns goth for a day then decides nah think I'll head back home. Pointless episode lol
Jack it was a pointless episode.,But they did need to mention how Eleven isn’t the only child who was experimented on?
Jack no way one of the best episodes.
“Bitchin’”
I never felt more betrayed from a show then what the writers did to HIMYM and then to have the kids be like "eh who cares about the story with are dead mom in it you should totally get with Robin" i swear it was like they handed the end to a teenage fan girl that was obsessed with shipping Ted/Robin
My favorite comment so far. Exactly what I was thinking.
HIMYM will go down as the worst show ending in history. Ruined a great show that gave us quite a bit of one liners and comedic gold moments like the slap bet. Went on a 9 year journey with the characters only to be screwed at the end by a rushed last season that ruined all the characters. Thats why their reruns are doing terrible. Once loyal fans wont return because they know how bad the ending is and tell others.
Gais Al-nemri yep! I was wondering about the rerun ratings. Wonder how bad DVD sales are?
Gais Al-nemri Dexter's finale wants to have a word with you.
Gais Al-nemri agreed
Loyal fans? More like a bunch of pathetic losers! So sick of viewers like you, who expect writers to write shows according to what you want. So childish and egotistical.
Where in the world did you get the ratings for the HIMYM reruns? Did you make that up? If not, post a link, because I'm interested.
There are people that don't like the puppet episode? And they liked Community?? What? lol
I liked the puppet ep
silversaint the episode sucks but there's worse community episodes
The episode is the worst of the gas leak year but I agree it's not THAT bad. Mind you it's pointless confusing and ridiculous
@@funnyfurryfriends186 nah I much prefer the puppet episode to the German episode in season 4 or the inspector space time convention episode
To me the episode that permanently destroyed the Simpsons beyond repair is where Maude Flanders dies. Not only they killed the wife of an important secondary character, but also destroyed the dynamic of Homer with his neighbour. What made Homer hating Flanders funny is that Ned was a constant source of Homer unhappiness. But with Maude's death, Ned became an object of pity, instead an object of envy, someone who Homer has to help instead of despise. That is just plain unfunny.
At least you can ignore "Principal and the Pauper" and pretend it doesn't exist (even if it marked the end of the Golden era), but you CAN'T ignore the episode where Maude Flanders dies because it altered the universe of the show and it casts a permanent shadow on everything that aired afterward.
The end in HIMYM is literally the worst thing that has ever been aired on television.
BeatlesRock64, why do ppl hate the ending?
because it was lazy, they spent the last 3 seasons developing Robin and Barney as they grew as a couple and then in a matter of 3 minutes destroyed all that.
Dualte2071 exactly, and then they basically ruined the whole point of the show, and made it lead up to Robin and Ted dating again, instead of having Ted finally end with THE MOTHER.
BeatlesRock64, ah I can see that!
lenj1vac stop using those words it makes conservatives like us look retarded
i never thought of "the great divide" as a bad episode in avatar and really don't get why it's on the list.
aang brought peace to two tribes that have been literally at each other's throats by telling a harmless, vanilla lie. it shows that sometimes bending the truth as a last resort to ensure peace is okay which doesn't seem like a bad moral to me.
Crunchy_Pants Yeah, but it would've been funny if it came back in a later episode and bit him in the ass 😂😂
Crunchy_Pants it is because it serves no purpose to the plot its just a filler episode
Crunchy_Pants it was just annoying. Aang acted out of character and it wasn't even funny. I'm fine with filler as long as it's good filler
Toni Hannah i agree
Toni Hanna Admittedly it's a weak episode, but the video claiming it "almost ruined" the show is way out of line. It's a ripple in a very deep ocean, at worst.
For me the worst episode IN ALL OF HUMAN HISTORY OF ANY TV SHOW IS THE EPISODE OF JANE THE VIRGIN WHEN MICHEAL DIES WHO TF THOUGHT THAT WAS A GOOD IDEA I JUST WANT TO KNOW SO I CAN SIT DOWN AND TALK TO THEM
Actually if you read interviews with the writers they were always going to kill Michael off. In fact they were going to do it a lot earlier but because he was such an amazing actor they kept him around. Personally it made the show much more interesting
Cat Whovian I knew they were gonna do it in early episodes like episode ten they make hints at it. I didn’t think it made the show more interesting I would’ve much rather had anyone else die then him lmao that’s so bitchy but he was my fav and I just don’t understand why they did it, they have this huge love triangle that goes on for so long then she’s finally with Micheal and she’s happy, she finally can see her happily ever after and then they just stole him from her, my only hope is Adam because if they kill off Micheal just for Rafael and jane to be together I’d probably stop watching the show because that’s just idiotic because that’s not fate for Jane it’s torture
If you rewatch the show they foreshadow his death. Go on Jane the Virgin writer’s blog she apologizes to the fans. Micheal was meant to die. If you paid close attention he was there for a reason and taken away for that reason as well. Brett Dier the actor playing Michael also knew, though the writers never told him but the show does.
@Clara R :3 I’m sure there’s a reason. If we continue to watch we’ll see hopefully. I mean most of the reason Mateo is the way he is, is because Jane went into that depressive state after Michael’s death. There has to be more.
I hate Michael so I was really happy when he died.
"Brian Dies" - Family Guy....The way I saw it, family guy ended after that episode.
i will NEVER forgive the creators of HIMYM for how they ended it lol
they did that show so dirty man
watch the alternate ending, you won't be disappointed
theres an episode where the mother tells the story, but in the end she was dead???? thats a serious continuity error
Yeah, you think it ends like "Yay, he meets the mother under an umbrella, Barnett and Robin together forever!" Never mind. Barley and Tobin get a divorce, and Ted ends up with Robin. WHAT?! I SHIP ROBIN AND BARNEY NOT ROBIN AND TED
you mean swarley?
As far as I'm am concern the last episode of himym end with Robin and barney's wedding..the last episode DID NOT HAPPEN!!!!!
tgeblaccat Dollyolliearzurah just finished the show... I wish I could say the same..
For me the last episode sort of happened but everything after the wedding reception and ted meeting the mother didn't
tgeblaccat Dollyolliearzurah You know there's an alternate ending, right?
Joey Blackman have watch the ending also..
For me, the Final episode of the show is Season 8 Finale
It basically wraps up everything, you know how he meets her, where, and how his life is about to move on, then the "Show" ends it seeing the mothers face
What about the Dexter ending? I mean the guy became a bloody lumberjack! A LUMBERJACK!
Krishan Glover Scrolled too far for this. This ending hurt me as much as himym. Should be on that list definitely
Krishan Glover I so agree!..I usually watch a series over again after some time has past..I cannot watch Dexter again or ever again!!...I read somewhere that the writers n director changed after or during season 5..whether or not it is true the last 2 seasons were not nearly as good as the first seasons :(
"He wanted to be... A LUMBERJACK!"
The principal and the pauper marked the beginning of the end of the golden age of the Simpsons and for me and many other marked the downfall of the Simpsons. I’m not saying your an idiot if you like the current season I’m simply saying nothing will match to the glory days of the Simpsons and this episode buried those days
To me season 8 or 9 should have been the last season of the show.
One thing that could have saved the episode would have been if both Skinners looked exactly alike. Then it could have been believable
@@moneylover318
They could have also said that the message was that the people who we’re told to trust and people of authority are actually liars and hypocrites.
if the Dexter finale isn't here I'm pissed
magstine As in cartoon Dexter or Killer Dexter?
+Lord Boros Probably the latter as the former is called 'Dexter's Laboratory' ...also the last season of Dexter was a complete disaster.
magstine dexter last two seasons should have been cut short.
Marcus Porter season 3 was the worst season by far. 6 and 7 were also awful tho. still love the show to death tho
Lord Boros killer

In HIMYM they spent 10 years building up to this big ending and then BOOM
throws all that away in THE LAST 15 MINUTES OF THE SHOW
“How to Save a Life” from Grey’s should’ve at least been an honorable mention that’s when so many devoted fans finally gave up
Almost? HIMYM was already ruined by that frickin ending!
TheGirlInSneakers yep!
trueeeeeee!!
The official alternate ending is WAYYYY better and how the show should have ended.
ua-cam.com/video/RoHUs8J7x94/v-deo.html
Why?
Jason Stacy because they wasted 9 years of character developments only to crush it all in one episode. Ted wasn't in love with Robin. He's in love with the idea of her.
Family Guy's "Life Of Brian"
The one where Brian dies
FIFAFever hey you were on the early comments of bluray billy videos
FIFAFever I'm okay with that, given all other continuity errors in the series. Seth don't give a fuck, and I like it
TheBobBrom I think that is the case as he wanted Fox to cancel the show after the seventh season but they said no
FIFAFever I haven't seen that one but one I thought was boring was the one where Brian and Stewie are trapped in that bank vault the whole time. It seems like it'd be good as comedic fodder and for further developing those two characters, yet surprisingly I don't recall laughing even once during that episode, which is rare for a show that has laughs almost constantly.
Almost.
I think all of season 4 of Sherlock should be included. I think most fans were devasted by how awful it was. A painful demise to a brilliant show.
getting tired of all these psycho "long lost sibling" themes in shows. PLL did it, Sherlock did it, pretty sure there were a couple of others
EmSpro well in PLL it was always going to be her twin, it’s in the book. Second the whole Sherlock sister thing was brilliant.
It wasn't that bad
I like to pretend that season 4 never happened! Moriarty is the TRUE villain.
Season 3 was bad too. By then the show was dumbed down for a larger audience.
You know what I was thinking was going to be a good ending to HIMYM? Robin's sister from season 2 comes to Robins wedding. It's been 7 years, she's no 16 year old anymore, she's 23. Ted gets drunk and bangs her which leads to the first kid. Robin pressures him into marriage and boom out comes another kid. The show ends with Ted addressing the kids saying "well, now you know why I always call her aunt Robin".
I'm a simple man.I see HIMYM i come.
Serhat Çakır same
Serhat Çakır *cum
giggity
Cum*
i came too
How I met your mother ending ruined the show completely.
Lee Bastyan agreed
Definetly. The fact that Robin and Barney got divorced pissed me off, they were perfect together and then they kill the mother just to put ted with robin like come on. We have been waiting for the mother for ever and when you give her to us you kill her 3 episodes later. WTF?!
Yup i can't even watch reruns anymore knowing how it ends such a big betrayal by the writers. I i know it's not real but fuck, you don't build up years and years of quality writing and major character development if your just gonna destroy it all in a 2 part episode. It might have made sense if it got cancelled by season 2 but it was too deep into the story that the ending made no sense at all.
Agree i like the show but it was so completely one sided ted came off as a wimp or bitch while the so called woman of his dreams fucked your suppose best friend u forgive both wtf
When it turned out I spent 10 seasons watching How I Met Your Stepmother 🤦🏽♀️
In the Community episode, they didn't eat berries and hallucinate that they were puppets. They all were using the puppets as a form of therapy to talk about what happened on their outing like a flash back....
I hate the ending of how I met your mother
Aja Brown-Felciano everyone does
Aja Brown-Felciano ok not everyone does
If by "everyone" you mean retards, then yes. I'm tired of people complaining about the ending. They way Ted tells the story, it's so damn obvious it's not about how he met his kids' mother. It's about a man who wants to rebuild his life and tries to get his kids to understand why this other woman is so important to him. The ending made perfect sense. It's not the creators' fault you weren't smart enough to see it coming.
sfer1 Almost 10 fucking years down the drain just so he could end up with Robin? AND YOU ARE SATISFIED WITH THAT??!!? Jesus Christ dude.
I like the ending. Yes, it was really sad and I cried but it makes sense. Why should Ted tell his children the story that way? The ending is the only good reason for that. So accept that.
And sorry for maybe strange sentences, I'm german ;)
I can't watch HIMYM because everytime I watch it the only thing I can think is that shitty finale! Is so bad!! makes me so angry!
After I watched the finale I deleted the complete show from my hard drive without flinching. I can pretty comfortably say I'll never watch a rerun of it again. The show began to be boring as hell somewhere after 7th season, I hardly ever chuckled twice per episode, and the only reason I kept watching was the revelation of the mother and the ending. When I realized I was watching couple of last seasons and willingly bored myself to death just to wait for a shitty finale like it was, I regretted all the time I've invested in this show and decided to never watch another minute of it (and I'm the guy who watched Friends for like 4 times)
indiiedreamer theres a alternate ending
Watchmojo: Top 10 TV shows almost getting ruined by one episode.
Me: Every Naruto filler.
The puppet episode of Community is one of my favourite episodes from the show... The songs were awesome and I thought it was a really unique format. I don't see why people didn't like it when the humour in the episode was no different from the humour of the rest of the show.
Same
"almost"
The finale DID ruin the HIMYM series. I haven't been able to watch an episode since. It changed the entire context of the show and shit on years of character development.
LoveShiaGDSN it actually complemented the entire context of the show. rewatch the show and really pay attention to what's going on
I hate when people act like you "just didn't understand it" if you weren't a fan of the ending. I spent years of my life on that show and paid attention just fine the first time. Putting myself through the finale again won't change how I feel about it.
LoveShiaGDSN what was the first episode about?
TheIronyoshi there were many episodes where it was very clear Ted and Robin were never meant to be, for one they wanted completely different things, things that couldn't go together, Ted wanted to settle down and have kids, Robin wanted to travel and hates kids, can't be further apart from each other. There was even an episode where Ted metaphorically let go of Robin.
They literally spend a decade building up to the "How I Met Your Mother part" just to almost immediately trow it down the drain, it completely defeated the purpose of the show specifically and especially the title.
Robin should've ended up with Barney and Ted should've ended up with Tracy, that's how it should have gone, that was even the original finale, that is the true ending. But the creators just couldn't let go of that damned failed ship.
Nova Gardner the point of it is that it isn't a fantasy. it's not some happy ending type shit just because that's how you want it
The HIMYM finale ruined everything for me. I dont even watch the reruns now...
I actually liked how the goal of Ted for telling all those stories to his kids was to get their approval to get together with Robin. As the show has always been about Ted's unending love for Robin. It would make a great story, only if Ted and Robin didn't have one of the worst on-screen chemistries I've ever seen! Also, Barney's relationship with Robin being a focus point for several seasons.
for me, HIMYM ends on ep 22
You totally forgot Dexter .... although the entire last season would have had to be mentioned
idk y it gets so much hate i understand it wasnt as good as earlier seasons but i still enjoyed the last few. ending made me cry
They weren't running out of idea for friends. They just didnt want ross and rachel to get back together right away.
they could have used someone else instead of Joeym the problem was seeing Joey and Rachel together and in a relationship you knew was going nowhere, aso t changed the Joey character, wasn't a bad episode as a whole, just a bad decision.

HIMYM finale was terrible. No kids, its the story about how every life decision, every coincidence, every heart break and trauma, still led him to meeting the woman of his dreams and finding true love. Not just, "yeah your moms dead, let me go after the chick i apparently loved more over and over through this story? Ok cool."
It shouldve ended with her death, but it shouldve ended with the kids and ted crying, ted saying how much he misses her, and them knowing that she is watching over them from heaven. Thats it.
Andrew Davis indeed bro, indeed. But the ruined it...
Andrew Davis thank you!
AVATAR DID NOT RUIN ENYTHING!!!!
True, but that episode really wasn't on par with the rest of the show. ^^
The way the HIMYM writers ruined Barneys character arc was truly horrific.
whenever i watch the last episode of HIMYM, i turn it off at the scene where ted and tracy meet under the yellow umbrella. tracy getting sick was the worst moment in teds life, she was hospitalized for a while (hence her absence) but she got better, and they lived happily ever after. barney and robin got back together, and raised barneys daughter together as a happy couple. THE END
I see title, I think "Dexter better be on this list." But then I saw what grabbed #1 and all was forgiven. HIMYM ending was HORRIBLE.
I was looking for Dexter too... That last shot, totally ruined the series.
I was so disappointed with the ending of dexter I almost cried. Like that's it?
Entire last season of Dexter was bad. Ending was just the cherry on the crap sandwich. HIMYM was a great show until the last episode ruined the entire show
Am I the only person who actually appreciated the ending of Dexter? Yes, the last season was bad. Very bad. And, while I didn't particularly like the ending, I appreciate what the writers were going for and don't hate it like most people do. The whole show was going downhill for the last few seasons and the last season was the worst. Regardless, I think the last season got better as it went on and the ending was fitting for Dexter's character arc. He was becoming more and more 'human' throughout the series and eventually had a family that he truly loved. In the end, he recognized the destructive nature he had and the danger it brought to the people around him. His deciding to live out the rest of his life away from his son and Hannah to protect them showed that he truly loved them, unlike the love he pretended to have for his family at the beginning of the series, and his acceptance that he wasn't meant to live a normal life or be happy. If he had actually been killed in the storm, we wouldn't have gotten that final realization of his character development.
I freakin hated HIMYM's ending. Never knew such a series would get me that mad, kudos to them for that, but come on! So many this destroyed in such a small amount of time. They threw all to shit. Aghh
I just pretend that the last episode of HIMYM doesn't exist, the creators developed the characters for 9 years just to say "you know what, screw this up, let's make Barney the douchebag he was in season 1 and let's kill the mom (whose identity was the whole premise of the series) so Ted can fall in love with Robin again" just infuriating
I love that Community episode. The songs were the best of the season.
Hated HIMYM finale but something that puzzles me is that the writers had planned the finale since the beginning of the show. All the scenes of Teds kids were shot in a few days, probably even before the show actually started. Technically the whole show is narrated and "created" by old Ted story telling his memories to his kids and ("us", audience) . So maybe old ted tried to make his kids believe he wasn't in love with Robin by spending a whole season on Robin and Barneys wedding. Like no matter how fucking dogshit season 9 was it was all planned since the very beginning
Weird...
They planned to end it back in Season 5. But they got added seasons and improvised. Ted and Robin were meant to have split and the finale was going to be them getting back together. Tracy was never a thing.
EVERY EPISODE OF AVATAR THE LAST AIRBENDER IS PERFECT HOW DARE YOU
Was looking for this comment ❤
Not the great divide. Even fans if the show hate it, because it's basically saying lying is okay. And heck, even the creators of the show didn't even like it
minatovssouji I'm a fan and I love it ...
when I heard that voice acting......YEAH NOPE.BMP.GIF.TIFF.PNG
Well that's YOU. Not everyone else. Most people don't like that episode, and it's a fact.
Wait I actually liked those friends episodes 🤷♂️ I didn’t realize it was so disliked
HIMYM - excellent tv show, so innovative and funny
The ending - disastrous
That's how I feel, I take comfort in knowing that there is an alternate ending on UA-cam that was basically the writers saying, yeah if this blows up, this should be our ending
BUT IT NEVER WAS
I'm sorry. That episode of HIMYM did not ALMOST kill the series. It killed it completely. I can't even marathon the series anymore because of it, despite some good episodes. I can't watch it knowing it'll end that bad.
I absolutely loved how I met your mother but his wife dying, Barney and robin breaking u9 and ted getting together with robin... killed it for me WHYYYY
Aka Panda Ted and Robin were supposed to be together from day one
stef12121999 but if they had been together since day one they wouldn't have had the same adventures.and ted wouldn't have any children.
The mother dying had been teased since very early in the shows life and became more evident in the last few seasons.
Barney and Robin getting a divorce was what really ruined the whole thing for me.
Aka Panda because it was always going to be robin.
Was not a good show!
Yes the series finale of how I Met your mother was a big slap in the face! Him and Robin what was the fucking point of that?! Let the relationship go it's clear it's dead and never going anywhere!
