Definitely, Cuties.
atypical wasn't bad as I thought it would be and I enjoyed 13 reasons why
Netflix it's self
Why wasn't Cuties on this list?
Big mouth because it also ruined “Inside Job”
"13 Reasons Why" was watchable enough for the first season or two, when it was actually about Hannah and her suicide. But then it descended into a Riverdale clone, to the point that Hannah wasn't even a character anymore, and clearly only existed to make more money.
Seasons 3 and 4 are among the biggest regrets of my life. The first two were okay, but they didn’t do the source material, which was already an appropriate tackling of a divisive subject, justice, never mind that I loved the novel. I only know _Riverdale_ through Alex Meyers, so I know where you’re coming from.
At least this show is better than euphoria
First season wasn’t just “watchable” it was a good ass show, but it should have ended at the last episode of the 1st
The Tyler’s Rape scene is where I stopped watching 13 reasons why
Season 2 was stupid because of Hannah's "ghost". It totally undermined that death is final.
Cuties was by far the WORST
Couldn't agree more. Garbage movie.
Nah 365 is for me one of the most unnecessary film sagas ever made
Not gonna fight your argument, but those romantic films pisses me off
You either got aroused or didn’t actually watch the movie like so many who criticized it. It wasn’t appropriate but it also wasn’t explicit like the critics claimed. I noticed the people who criticized it are comfortable with child marriage and “religious freedom”
This movie didn’t need to exist All it does is put CP in the mainstream spotlight
@@sytherwusky yet I bet you then defend Trump and his beauty pageants or ignore youth pastors abusing children
13 Reasons Why was fine being just one season. The last two seasons are the textbook definition of WTF?!?!
At least is better than euphoria
@@Karlebow571 I'm just so sick of these edgy, overly dramatized high school shows. The only one I've ever genuinely liked is Sex Education.
so what have them sit a classroom for 8 hours looking at their thumbs and texting?@@atticusmcfly
While I agree the subject matter of 13 Reasons Why is very controversial and not for everyone, I thought it’s realistic portrayal of bullying and it’s effects shined a light on how much it affects people who have been victims of it.
It was too edgy for its message
At the very least it changed Hannah's method of suicide. In so many of these stories the girl will overdose and it's clean and sobering. The series however shows that suicide is _not_ pretty.
@@rogue7723 as someone who knows a friend who’s seen suicides, I know that for a fact
agree❤
@@rogue7723👏👏
I still believe 13 reasons why should have ended after 2 seasons. It was perfect ending. The monologue in the church was heartfelt and i believe it gave the series the much deserving ending
13 Reasons Why holds a special place for me due to it actually being the first Netflix original series that I took the time to binge
I am highly convinced Amy Schumer's fans are either paid to laugh at her boring jokes, or they're simply being held at gunpoint
It's political tribalism, they feel obligated to pretend like she's funny because women are supposed to be funny.
👏
I understand mental health professionals concerns about copy cats and stuff from 13 Reasons Why but we also need to destigmatize having discussions about mental health, pregnancy and so much more for teens
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
13 reasons why was a great show, they really showed what happens after being bullied, ignored or mentally unstable and holds a special place in my life because i was bullied most of my school life
agree❤
I remember how popular 13 Reasons Why was. But then they went on with season 2 and so on and basically got turned into just another teen drama!
Sense8 was THE best television series I’ve seen in my 50 years, and it was devastating when it was cancelled. We fans were so thankful that a 2-hour finale movie was shared!
AthenaBeth Black Having Sense8 as a two hour movie finale isn’t enough I needed more on that series. I’m hoping it’ll be revived along with The OA. 😔😔😔😔😔
As somebody who struggles with ASD, i LOVED atypical. I thought the actor did an incredibly good job trying to portray autism when it doesnt affect him
Blonde and Cleopatra were the ones that came to mind. What else needs to be said about 13 Reasons Why that hasn't already been said? Blonde and Cleopatra were very disrespectful to their subjects with Marilyn Monroe being abused throughout the movie(physically and sexually) while making Cleopatra a black woman when she wasn't. The best part about the Cleopatra series were the memes that it inspired.
Agreed, Ana De Armas was the best part of Marilyn.
I was furious that the director didn't care about Marilyn and her accomplishments but only cared about her body and was very misogynistic as he claimed that people didn't watch Marilyn Monroe movies anymore which is BS. Blonde is the reason I'm very skeptical about Back to Black, the upcoming Amy Winehouse biopic. Like Marilyn, Amy deserves to be treated with respect despite their demons.
13 reasons why should have just been a one off show. It just ended up devolving into Riverdale
i loved 13 reasons why, and gave me a new perspective on mental health and shined a beacon of hope on the effects on what bullying does to others....Even Jenks High school is taking precautions now just in case someone takes bullying to the next level :|
It’s shocking that both cuties and Cleopatra aren’t on this list
Why would cuties be on the list? It's not a Netflix original.
personally i enjoyed atypical, to the bone and dear white people but i understand the controversy behind those. Now with 13 reasons why I'm biased because i read the book a couple times when i was very young so seeing it on screen was something special for me. Bullying was all around me growing up and I myself was not excluded so my first time reading it really hit for me.
Dear White People was only controversial because people hate having a mirror held up to themselves
The first people who bullied me were black.
How is Cuties not on here?!!?
because it wasn't a netflix original and that's what this list was about
So everyone just gonna talk about 13 Reasons 😂😂
Right? Sitting here looking for any comment that's not about it
Did Cuties make the list or am I just missing it? If it didn't then wtf... Also, Big Mouth only got 20.
Cuties is vile soft core child porn and nothing more. Rottens Tomatoes critics should be ashamed of themselves
I haven't seen it to confirm this but I'm curious why you watched it ?
@@frankd9945 I saw a reaction video to it
so you admit you never watched it. Your opinion is uninformed then. I bet the reaction video you saw was only fixated on the dance scenes and did not pay attention to the film whatsoever.
Cuties should’ve been higher at #1.
It didn't even make the list
the list is only for netflix originals.
I guess the reason they didn't include Cleopatra in this list is that they don't want to give attention to a crap. Good job WatchMojo.
You're overestimating them.
13 reasons why absolutely knocked it out the park.all the themes in the show were acted and explored so so well ❤i love it so much
Mojo Ikr? I loved that series along with Sense8 and The OA.
@@ChelseyLinden havent watched the other 2 shows but yes 13 rw was just brilliant
@@Shebeast3 You should watch The OA trust me it’s life changing and then Sense8. ☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️
I actually liked the first 2 seasons of 13 Reasons Why because I’ve lived a best friend committing suicide and all the repercussions that come from it and I think they did a good job of showing how truly traumatic and awful it is to everyone left behind.
Holy shit did you get A LOT of information wrong. Sense 8 received a lot of backlash and criticism in the very first season before that sex scene (which honestly was a laughable sex scene but it was a plot moment showing that all of them at the same time were connected and could feel what the other was feeling) such as one of the leads being Trans and dudes got offended that they were attracted to her because "You didn't tell us she was trans! She's too hot! That's not fair!" or some bullshit. Also, the shitty "movie" they did after the show was cancelled was genuinely hated by fans because it didn't even give the show the actual outcome they wanted because Netflix decided that a fucking UA-camr (who's now a well known pedo) was WAY MORE important and worth WAY MORE money even though her show got 10x less the amount of viewers than Sense 8 did. That UA-camr's Netflix show was so bad that Netflix had to fake the numbers to make it look like it was worth keeping her show even though next to no one actually watched the show since it was trash. Netflix said they couldn't afford to keep giving Sense 8 money but instead they gave hundreds of millions of dollars for a show that was based on a character from a UA-camr which ultimately failed massively costing Netflix far more than the money they had spent to produce it.
Love how WatchMojo stayed away from the Cleopatra documentary. According to WM, whitewashing in fiction is controversial but the huge backlash to changing the race of an actual historical figure doesn't warrant a mention.
RIGHT!
13 reasons why was so dope to me. It has real-life situations 🤩
13 Reasons Why was terrible.
First season was okay, it went downhill after that
@danielrubinstein896 It was bad, she blamed everyone for her problems and cowardess.
@@DaddyOfTheSugarVarietyONG like girl own up to your shit
I'm not on Netflix long enough for anything to get "controversial". I used to only get it once a year for "OITNB" now only once for "Cobra Kai" but that's about to end.
Yeah.... I'm starting to see more soft core porn in drama series that is like..okay... Shameless, Insecure, Euphoria, like wtf...
Cuties went beyond controversial; it is downright evil and is pretty much hated by everyone who isn’t a pedo.
Exactly. Well said. Glad I didn't waste my time watching it .
They would cope by saying it's point was to "raise awareness", which is bs because if you need a movie to tell you sexually exploiting little kids is bad, then you're too far gone for any movie to do you any good.
@@theywouldnthavetocensormei9231 it's just wrong in so many ways.
I bet you all watched Sound of Freedom and applauded it when it actually deals with far worse subject matter. Most of you who critique cuties didn’t actually watch it. Those who did and got angry got mad because they got aroused.
Lmao what a stupid bot that WatchMojo has bought.
Cuties is an atrocious movie
Don’t watch it
Instead of that here are some French language alternatives with kids as characters , and that actually are for kids
Petite Maman
Petit Nicolas
Belle And Sebastian
The Chorus
To Be And To Have
Monsieur Lazhar
And War Of The Buttons
I knew 13 Reasons Why would be here. Wednesday isn’t controversial but one scene that could draw criticism is the piranhas in the pool.
Dahmer is by far the worst. Most females from little girls to moms would say that Evan Peters is cute, but this is nothing to celebrate. With his characters in American Horror Story, there was no problem but with playing Jefferey Dahmer. Huge problem.
In loving memory of all of Dahmer’s victims
I watched it. it was not atrocious. You people blew it out of proportion.
Cuties should be number 1 on this list
How so? Cuties doesn't fit the criteria because it's not a netflix original.
@@jonmendelson1104 Oh… it is like most of licensed anime that appeared on Netflix. I get it.
Netflix is getting worse
Where was Cleopatra? Cuties? An entire country is suing netflix for Cleopatra and rightfully should be with trying to rewrite history. When the lead historian of Egypt goes after you, then maybe you should have not aired it or changed it to fiction. Cuties I never say but dear Lord it was disgusting from all the reviews I have watched.
Cuties wasn't a netflix original so it wouldn't be on this list.
OK I watched Dahmer and I get how some people may find it offensive as it deals with some of the most terrible incidents in our history, but I think it was done accurately and it also gave attention to the victims and how gay men were targeted. Also it helped point out the bigotry of the police force at the time and how that it got in the way of them catching Dahmer sooner.
No mention of the CP that was Cuties, other than the tease at the beginning?
They didn't make the number 2 pick but it's on the list and "Cuties" isn't... 🤷🏽♂🤷🏽♂🤷🏽♂🤷🏽♂🤷🏽♂
I was inteigued by The OA...not too sure about the "interpretive dancing" but yeah, that season 1 finale with the school shooter being stopped by interpretive dancing lagit made me say out loud "Whaaaaat the fuuuuuck is this!?"
The second season was better than the first. I’m hoping there are more.
@@middean85You do realize that The 5 Movements were also included in Part II of The OA. And I’m not giving up hope for this show to be revived. ☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️
@@ChelseyLinden so bummed to find out it wasn’t renewed!
I can’t believe that Keanu reeves was in to the bone
Anorexia, bullying, suicide, racism and lots more are topics we need to discuss even in a teenage age. It's true, that some scenes are too graphic. Do we really need to show how young girls get raped in 13reasons why or could we just see some seconds how it started (in order to check the signs) and how it effects her afterwards, instead of showing too much ?
I never enjoy rape-scenes, the one of that poor boy in 13rw still haunts me...
What I really hate in this serie is the fact that those kids act allone all the f****** time and therefore it gets worse and worse... Where are the adults who react adequately? Take responsibility !
However, to show bones, blue marks in "To the bone"... I mean... How else shall we point it out. If these scenes were tabooed, we actually romanticise the illness. It gives information and details because it's the topic ! Movies are supposed to spread information.
Messiah was actually really good, super bummed they didn’t make anymore 😭
Not a Netflix Original But Felidae (1994) A Graphically Violent cartoon revolving around Cat murders real brutal shit TBH liked the main character Francis he's my favorite
But it's netflix. So take that opinion somewhere else.
Hearing about the backlash for "To The Bone" reminds of me when Breaking Bad was airing and people were accusing of it of glamorising the drug world as well as giving way too much info on meth creation
The OA and Sense8 were amazing shows those two am obsessed with mostly. I watched both Seasons of The OA 5 times they’re not controversial. 😒😒😒😒😒
Sense 8 was phenomenal I am pissed it got cancelled. Matrix writers/directors making a series? Sign me the fuck up. Sense8 was brilliant. 😁

I don't even know like half of these if not more. I don't have Netflix. I just wanted to see if cuties was on here. That shit was so bad that people who have never even heard of Netflix heard about it.
So we have Cuties about normalizing grooming kids and 13 reasons why glorifying teen suicide. Wtf netflix?
1:06 I’m still wondering how is this getting another season
You goin after my boy Iron Fist? I find that personal as a fan of the Marvel Netflixverse. Miley what's good? REEEEEEE.
The Death Note controversy was kind of stupid though tbh, the way it pissed off both sides, you had one side complaining about the shows supposed whitewashing of Light, but then you had others complaining about them supposedly blackwashing L. Neither side would even acknowledge the other as a problem. Still remember one guy insisting that whitewashing Light was fine but blackwashing L ruined it because it was inaccurate to the source material.
When they staged a walk out tell em don't come back, u fired
Well, there are 2 problems with the premise of this video:
1- Netflix originals are too bad ever to be topical or controversial.
2-Netflix cancelled them all before there was a controversy 😂
Except they didn't? The number 1 spot was 13 reasons why which had 4 seasons 🤨
and not all of there shows are controversial
@@Miss_Kisa94 it’s supposed to be a joke, since Netflix has the bad habit of nixing 90% of their shows before they even get a following.

So Death Note is on the list but not Cleopatra, Dave Chappelle is on the list but not Cuties...make it make sense WM
Why would cuties be on the list? It's not a Netflix original.
Surprised Cuties, Nimona, and Bird Box weren’t on the list (Bird Box because of the dangerous internet challenge it started, Nimona because of the behind the scenes drama and the troubled production life, and Cuties because of it’s mere existence)
The Jeffery Dahmer series was fire y'all are tripping.
I refuse to ever watch Cuties; it seems like some R. Kelly bait.
Wait, why did they show a clip of Cuties at the beginning when it’s not even on the list?
A documentary by Goop to try and justify its con. Ridiculous
Iron fist was amazing
i have never watched netflix and will only go to the cinema for films as a treat to much money is wasted on streaming services go outdoors get some fresh air and get real nothing beats reading great book that films cant replicate no matter how hard they try
Spleen!
The group of people chastising the Dahmer series are probably the same group still praising the movie, MONSTER, which centered around AILEEN WUORNOS!!! -_-
Big Mouth is the worst Netflix show
I liked Okja
Me too.
I miss the days when people weren't offended by EVERY DAMN THING. It's f-cking television, simply don't watch it.
Exactly. Who cares if gay and trans representation is becoming more accurate and realistic. It's about f'n time anyway.
ONG
That's one of the most annoying things in today's world they are called actors for a reason they're supposed to pretend to be somebody else so I think that any actor should be able to play any race no matter what that's the way it's always been up until the last few years when everybody got all their panties in a bunch
Insatiable was a great show, it suffers from the curse of offended people who had not even seen it! The whole idea of the show was to point out how superficial people are, and how people that are overweight are treated as less human. It also brought up concept of homosexuality, alcoholism and sexual abuse, transgender issues of not feeling comfortable in your own body and women's rights.
F and U to anyone who judged it without seeing it, t's literally the most ironic thing.
bro i love big mouth
Dave's the BOMB.
As in the way he blew himself up?
He was, until he decided to take cheap shots at the trans community because his fame was fading and he needed the controversy.
Big Mouth...ohh my God 😂😂😂😅😅😅 I love that show and nasty as it is... 😂
Thanks for making me remember cuties 🤢
Big Mouth is hilarious
So a black show don't get canceled even tho it's racist, they let it go the full 4 seasons. That ridiculous and racist
*OA.."The movements"....Glad I never watched that show...WTF...*
I personally liked Amy Schumer's special, she's very honest about herself!
Wow Amazing
I know everyone says it's funny, but Big Mouth is way too ugly for me to enjoy. Plus I find it kinda unsettling that they have these underage teens' talking, sentient genitals on screen for everyone to see.
Imagine complaining that a show casted a white actor to play a white comic book character
Yeah wouldn't it technically be more racist if they casted an Asian person? Like there's already the stereotype that all Asian people know martial arts.
"Yagami" is a Japanese name. His parents are Japanese.
@@Uncle_Smidge they aren't talking about death note
@@Uncle_Smidge I’m talking about Iron Fist. Danny Rand is an American who went to Asia to train in martial arts. Why make him asian just because of that?

I'd watch a show about Jesus having a boyfriend. I imagine his name being Steve. 😄

Why Big Mouth? I love it.
People are very sensitive, if you are like that, disconnect from the world entirely
Dahmer was so deep and intense,as much as i love true crime and mind f**k stuff,i had to take some time after i watched it but it was so so well done and all the actirs/actresses done so so well.
Controversial seems like it's used by weak pathetic people who are easily offended anymore. It's unfortunate that so many weaklings have a voice that matters if you didn't like something don't watch it
Better that than cause a fandom civil war
lol Cleopatra not on the list. We see where you stand in all of this WatchMojo. While no one should be racists against african americans, it's just absurd to have a black portray Cleopatra when she was undeniably Greek.
My favorite Netflix original I love the best is Carmen sandiego.
I can easily see idiots getting plugged trying to do the OA moves when a shooter is on the loose.
Why is Cuties not on this list? That movie generated a lot of controversy.
Because it's not a netflix original.
Nah. I’d leave all those shows available. Don’t like it, don’t watch it.
Netflix didn't make Cuties. They only bought the rights and distributed it in America.
There is no statement that they "made it". The original "365 Days: This days" was also acquired by Netflix, and it's actually on this list @ No 2. "Cuties" is mentioned but isn't listed.

U que no se te olvide el agua 😅
1. So casting a white guy in a Death Note remake is bad but casting a black man as Jet in Cowboy Bebop is "perfect"? And apparently it's just fine to race swap Cleopatra, an actual historical figure of Greek ancestry, because it didn't even get a mention.
2. Dave Chappelle is not controvesial. 12 weirdos throwing a tantrum on twitter is not a controversy. The "walkout" involved exactly one employee. No one noticed they were gone. And anyone who is outraged that he talked about his transgender friend being driven to suicide by the alphabet mafia and not the fact that she was driven to suicide by the alphabet mafia is a piece of human garbage.
3. Didn't include Cuties, which is unarguably the most controversial thing on Netflix ever. Tell me you're a pedo without telling me you're a pedo.
