Bakugo doesn't only talk big now, he changed. Now he will work his ass off to make sure that he really is the best.
bakugo gauntlets do even give him a boost for his quirk. He has them bc they store sweat for him to use more of.

About Tokage's plan, had Bakugo not shifted his priorities, his team would have far less cohesion. This *matters* but not in what Awase did, but in what Sero got caught in: with Sero, Jirou and Sato caught in a trap, at least one of them is a damn near certain capture, and Jack Mantis is fast enough to not give Jirou leeway to hit him and a good counter to Sero given that he can grow swords out of anywhere, that single trap would be chaos on A's team and an uncooperative Bakugo would be too caught up in the traps Awase and Tokage can lead him into. From there it's a matter of capturing A's team and worst case scenario lead Bakugo on a losing chase to run out the clock. After all, if you have three of the four in jail and Bakugo is the only one left, there's a high chance that even if he could knock one or two out, he would have to deliver them to his side anyways, which puts him at an even bigger disadvantage
Well, yeah. Everyone knew that if I could go with his old self you probably wouldn't have done nearly as well. Although I think even on his own if bakugo needed to he probably kick their asses if it were a little bit into the fight definitely after they've been worn down

You missed the line but it was confirmed by the announcer that Bakugou's team won in under 5 minutes lmao. It checks out. The time limit for the match is 20 minutes and the other matches were 2 episodes while Bakugou's ended before the halfway mark of the first episode.
